OOC: How on Earth do you cram that many weapons onto a ship that's only 400 feet longer than the Enterprise carrier...those must be really small SAM launchers and absolutely tiny 4.5" guns...Not to mention that a craft that's only that size can not carry 1000 planes...
Pythogria
09-04-2006, 01:41
OOC: Aye. 101, tone it down a little.
DMG

I just have one question... how can a 1500 foot carrier hold 1000 planes!?!?!

I just have one question... how can a 1500 foot carrier hold 1000 planes!?!?!

OOC: Yes, 101 TONE IT DOWN! Even with Plane elevators it can't hold that much!
1010102
09-04-2006, 01:43
"Plane elevator" it stacks planes and the planes are VTOL so they need less take off space so you can fit more.
Amazonian Beasts
09-04-2006, 01:43
OOC: Nor can it supply them, and hold personnel for them, and it can certainly not do that while housing the abolsutely crazy amount of weaponry it does...

ok i will down size sme of these stats. how many lnaes should i put.

"Plane elevator" it stacks planes and the planes are VTOL so they need less take off space so you can fit more.

Stacks planes?!? If you stack one plane on top of another I guarantee that neither will work when you take them off.

Just because they are VTOL, doesn't mean you can fit hundreds more. It means you can fit a few more on the deck.
The Beltway

Price as in how much it cost you.

200' draft = impossible to take anywhere near the coasts = useless ship.

If you've got 175 planes, that amount of weaponry for a ship of comparable size is nuts...

It certainly can't hold the weaponry that has been outlined either.

SDs are trimaran - three hulls means room for more planes. It'd be a bit difficult to make an iceberg carrier trimaran...
DMG
09-04-2006, 01:52
please explain how the average superdreadnaught can carry 200-300 planes but this can't hold 200?

It is pretty easy to explain. Watch:

An average super dreadnaught is over two times larger than this...

edit: not to mention that the average SD does not have an air compliment of 300... heck... two hundred is about the max. They have so much weaponry that they can't hold a billion aircraft.

A threat implies action. You don't threaten just to say words. You threaten in intimidation. Hence, the intimidated threatens back.

Now, he had an idea. It didn't go over well. It didn't work. Life goes on.
OOC: Exactly, so let's help him out... which is why I suggested the draftroom. and DMG, as I remember, OOC and IC are two totally different realms, and you're really not supposed to carry info from one to another, as one person may alert an enemy of his that he is attacking, but the enemy would only know OOCly... and the person would be doing it out of courtesy, so it really wouldn't be valid to carry it over...

No... the thread might have been made OOCly, but the vehicle to carry out the threat would be ICly. So an OOC response of IC action is perfectly fine.

While his design maynot be feasible his idea is.

"You will regret this" can mean a flurry of things, from economic embargoes, refusal to sell things to you, cut off in diplomatic relations. Who are you to predict his thoughts?

A threat implies action. You don't threaten just to say words. You threaten in intimidation. Hence, the intimidated threatens back.If threats always imply action then everyone who ever threatened to hurt, shot, or otherwise maim a person would be in prision for assualt, battery or murder. Words =/= Actions

A response to an OOC threat that would occur in ICly is still valid. An IC response to an OOC threat is not valid, that's breaking the lines between IC and OOC which is looked down upon

Now, he had an idea. It didn't go over well. It didn't work. Life goes on.Yes, he had an idea, people who responded did not have the proper knowledge, it can and would work, live with it.
