The British Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire sends a note to their foreign office reading :"It will not be in the best interests of you our friends the Ottoman Empire to fight for a Greek Upstart. There will be Her Majesty's troops in the theatre and furthermore we would like to inquire about the possiblity of purchasing the Islands of Crete and Cyprus."

Do not worry, we have no intention of getting involved. As for Crete and Cyprus, we see them as too valuable to be sold. Perhaps, however, you could purchase the rights to have naval bases there. Also, if there is anything else you would like to spend money on of ours just let us know. Our monetary debt to you is large and if we do not find a way to aquire money soon we will be forced to declare bankruptcy and default on it.

The Ottoman Empire announces the formation of a International Islamic Council. The sultan will choose an Islamic scholar from every province and state subject to Ottoman rule to represent that province or state in the aformentioned council. The purpose of the council will be to assist the sultan in laws pertaining to Islam. Other Islamic nations are also welcomed to submit their own scholars.

OOC: The powers and exact duties of the council I am leaving deliberately vague. The "every province and state subject to Ottoman rule" includes Egypt and even Serbia. This national council, regardless of what it actually does (probably next to nothing, at least at first), will receive considerable publicity. This is an attempt by me to unify all those I don't quite own under me.

Denmark would like to withdraw or purchase of Libya as we feel that the money could be put to better use else where. Upon reviewing of the civil situation and benifiets of the area the plan is economically unsound. We however thank you for your time and cooperation in this matter.

The Ottoman Empire sells the rights to the dogs roaming around Constantinople. A French company is using them to make gloves.

The Sultan also mandates that all unused palaces (i.e. all but the main one) are to be turned into ludicrously luxurious hotels for wealthy Europeans. The right to be Sultan for a day and live in the main palace during that period is being auctioned off, starting at 500,000 pounds.

A diplomatic Note demanding Immediate repayment of Loans to British Banks is delivered to the governments of the Ottoman Empire and Persian Empire.

The British Government is willing to forgive its debt in exchange for ownership of Cyprus, Crete, and total Control of Egypt. If this is unnaccetable the full amount of our loan must be paid within a fortnight (I'm pretty sure you owe the bulk of it to me)

In light of the economic troubles facing the Ottoman Empire, Italy would like to drop all debts owed to it by Constantinople. In return we would like Libya, the Dodecanese and Rhodes.

OOC: We have not crowned a new Sultan yet, right now the Islamic Council set up by Abd-Ul-Aziz is ruling in concert with several other top ministers/generals. When we do crown someone it will likely be a puppet. Viva la Theocracy!

As far as Italy goes: since the majority of our debt was to the UK, which we paid off by giving land away, we were able to pay off the rest of the debt with money (see economic thread, I should've cross posted, but oh well.)

As for the five-year old sultan; that is the plan.

Italy is not in a postition at this time to make such demands of the Ottomans. Remember, it wasn't until 1910 that Italy was actually able to take those territories. If you are willing to pay I would sell Libya though.

No, the Ottoman Empire has shown it does not posses the ability to govern and rule over its outstretched terrtiories. We will take over governing and ruling these territories for you as Italy is in a position to do a much better job. However we are willing to pay a small fee of 5 million Pounds.

Two rebellions break out in the Ottoman Empire, in the Balkan regions

Rebellion one, An anti-Ottoman uprising occurred in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the summer of 1875. The main reason for this revolt was the heavy tax burden imposed by financially defunct Ottoman (or Turkish) administration.

Rebellion Two, The April Uprising

In November 1875, activists of the Bulgarian Revolutionary Central Committee met in the Romanian town of Giurgiu and decided that the political situation was suitable for a general uprising. The uprising was scheduled for April or May 1876. The territory of the country was divided into five revolutionary districts with centres in Vratsa, Veliko Tarnovo, Sliven, Plovdiv and Sofia.

In conformity with the decisions taken at Oborishte, the local committee attacked the headquarters of the Ottoman police in the town and proclaimed the insurrection two weeks in advance. Within several days, the rebellion spread to the whole Sredna Gora and to a number of towns and villages in the northwestern Rhodopes. The insurrection broke out in the other revolutionary districts, as well, though on a much smaller scale. The areas of Gabrovo, Tryavna, and Pavlikeni also revolted in force, as well as several villages north and south of Sliven and near Berovo (in the present-day Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia).

Austria-Hungary congratulates to the new Sultan and the Ottoman Empire and wishes long life and prosperity to both. Austria-Hungary is concerned with the rebellions in both Bosnia and Bulgaria. The possibility of the violence spreading to neighboring countries is very real and Austria-Hungary urges the Ottoman Empire to deal with these threats firmly and swiftly before more drastic measures are required by its neighbors to prevent the spreading of violence.

For the last freakin time only roughly 80k people of Jewish backgound came to Ottoman Empire within that short period of time...so therefore only like 5k come to South Afirca and MY RULING ON HOW MANY JEWS CAME TO OE IS FINAL, end of story, only 80k cames to OE in that short amount of time.

It Italy the army and navy begin to mobilize at Taranto and Tunis in preparation for war.

While Austria-Hungary finds no great joy in war, it finds itself with a heavy heart forced to deal with the Ottoman 'situation'. To this end, Austria-Hungary has mobilized its forces and has ordered its troops into Bosnia and its fleet to sea to support this operation.

Do not mistake this as a declaration of war. Austria-Hungary only wishes to protect those people who wish protection from the Ottoman Empire's oppressive government.

Troop Movements:
A significant portion of the Austro-Hungarian Army is ordered into Bosnia while the fleet begins hunting any Ottoman ships that may 'interfer' with the peaceful mission of Austria-Hungary.
