OOC: Anyone can feel free be my destination.
IC:The Spiridoff hung in Martian orbit, accompanied by destroyers from all the coalition member states, who had transfered their admirals onto the Russian juggernaught to watch this momentous occasion. The Chinese delegation, a Hou-Shi torpedo junk, was preping a new form of ether drive that could propel a ship across the whole galaxy in mere months.

"All crew prepare for test, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..."

The junk vanished. There was an anxous silence on the bridge of Spiridoff. Then a voice from the communicator.
"High command, test succesful. Have arrived in foreign system."
The normally stern faced officers couldn't resist a whoop of excitement. Then they returned to more serious matters.
"Prepare a fleet to travel after that junk and land troops on any habitable planets. You all know our colonialism policy."

Half an hour later, a ragged fleet had assembled, two destroyers and a cruiser each from the european powers, and a destroyer from Japan, China having arrived already. They caught a grav wave on their huge space sails, and vanished.

occ how many ships is that?
the cruiser ares was on a normal patrol when several unknow ships entered the system. The Ares sent the following message to the unknow ships:

This is 1010102 territory, identify your self you are to stay on your ships you are not to mix with the planets in this system.

OOC: My European powers are Britain, France, Austria, Russia, and Germany. You do the maths.
IC:"Unidentified ships, this is HMES Banneret, of the Royal Navy Ether squadron. We come to pacify the natives and introduce them to the marvels of European culture. We will be happy to enter into negotiations with you."

Behind the squadron, four freighters entered the system, showing Sternmarine and Athermarine jacks. They were loaded with troops and atmospheric attack cruisers.

Vice Admiral Roper cursed. "Worst possible timing, boys." He took a moment translating the German. "I know you had orders, but you've severly dampened the prospect of negotiating. I hope your happy."

"these natives are my people and we can wipe out your "fleet" before you can blink."

and as he said that 10 battleships and 4 carriers jumped in system and took up positions around the planets. another 20 destoryers jumped in behind the unknown fleet.

This will be worth watching. Move the Sanctity into position, and fire up the Charlemagnes for immediate intercept.

"What do you think? Hostile First Contact?" Mused the Captain, as the sensorium watched through the wormhole threads, practically undetectable without meticulous sensor sweeps, and even then, it was only the size of a pinhead.

Let's not be hasty. 1010102 so far has only ever retaliated when necessary. But if this new Empire attempts something stupid, you have my permission to vaporise those ships.

"High speed reactions?"

If they pose a threat to CEGA, they'll taste vacuum. Simple.

Roper sighed. Bloody belligerants. "I never said anything about killing people! Let's just talk calmly about this, shall we? And in response to your rather uncalled for agression..."
Butakoff, Guantlet, Hodaka, Fei-Long, Tycho, and a pair of Huszars entered the system, for a total of a battleship, two battlecruisers, five cruisers, four light cruisers, and twelve destroyers. Roper grinned. That was a real fleet, not some colonial mess.

"Sanctity's in position."

Await further orders. I want to see how 1010102 reacts. We'll intervene if we have to, but not before.

you do realize that i have 1000 orbital weapon platforms that can turn your"fleet" in to a haze of melted metal if you try to get close to the planet and that i can call another 50 battleships insystem at anytime.and that i am a nation that is 84 times biger than you.
Jingoistic Empires
08-04-2006, 20:21
OOC: Is that IC or OOC? And yes I do, why do you think my commander's scrambling to stop violence. But 1000 platforms...must be pretty crappy ones for that many.

OOC: JE is my puppet. Thought I'd even the odds a bit. By pacify I mean it in the JIngo sense. Annex. And if you have a thousand quality platforms...wanking senses...tingling.
IC: Admiral Gerspel liked doing nothing. He lay back and hummed in his bridge chair as First Mobile Fleet hurtled through the warp. This time, it was another petty squabble that he'd been sent in to observe. Head-cracking seemed in order. Yes, Captains Menkeln and Felgern and all those ones would be eager to crack the heads of any bastard they felt like in the name of "galactic freedom" (defined by Otto Morlok, ruler of Boozia, as "We are free. Argue and die. I don't care about anyone else.")

Captain Menkeln watched as Axe to Grind leapt from the warp. She and her ship were trailblazing, using a beacon to guide in the rest of the fleet. But she couldn't resist a little fun.

"All bastards in system who value their lives, calm down. We don't want violence, do we? Well, I do, but I'm not aloud. Ah well. As I said, kick down, you belligerant freakmobs!"

Roper sighed again.

"Points: One, you were the one who moved first. I summoned additional ships to defend my men. Two, I never said anything about planets. Stop your paranoia. Three, who am I talking to here, anyway?

Now for the last time, will you parlay?"

Captain Menkeln brought her ship between the two fleets (beyond the virtual barrier, although she didn't know there was one), opening her gunports, the beacon still glowing bright in the warp.

"All belligerant freakmobs, repeat, attention all belligerant freakmobs. I mean you, the one without the navy jacks (OOC: 1010102). If anyone moves, I will personally hunt them down and ensure they take an exquisitely painful tour through all nine hells. That means anyone. And if you think I'm making hollow threats with just one little cruiser, watch this."

The entirety of First Mobile fleet de-warped.

"Nothing says loving like eight three-mile cruisers, does it now?"

OOC: That's it. Wank detected. I refuse to accept those figures. And learn to spell. Seriously.
IC: "We'll be sending a pinnace over to talk."
"As to you "Boozians" we thank you for your...timely aid."
A pinnace left the Banneret, escorted by a swarm of Harpune fighters, and approached the flagship.

The pinnace set down, and the fighters continued circling over the hangar. Down the ramp, a squad of Royal Marines, clad in power armour and shako, marched, before snaping to attention. Roper then strolled down himself.

"Well, you've got some explaining to do. Where did all this crazy talk about planets come from? I never mentioned planets."
1010102
08-04-2006, 22:10

A No Endorse frigate screamed into the edge of the system. Its wake was so massive that it could never hope to hide its entry, but its presence was all that it needed, so why hide?

A wild card. Something that no one in the area had seen before, as No Endorse had never seen anyone currently in the area before. And this wild card had a few things up its sleeve that few would enjoy meeting.

It would observe. And when the decision was made, it would follow such orders. Until then, it sat and waited, an immobile energy signature that befitted a far larger vessel.

EDIT:
ooc: NB, did you just use your main nation to help your puppet? I think that you should think about the reprocussions of such.. puppets helping other puppets... sounds familiar...
Nova Boozia
09-04-2006, 08:53
OOC: I only said pacify IC, all else was OOC, and I never mentioned planets.
As to NE, yes, I thought this guys fleet was blatantly obscene, so I brought in my main. I only have the two. Does that qualify as puppet wanking? I didn't think it would, because I would shoot my own puppet if I had to.
IC: A Boozian launch left Iron Demon, as the fleet vanished off to deal with GE matters, replaced by a prizehunter. It approached the circling Harpunes and requested permission to board the 1010102 flagship.

Roper wandered just what he had stumbled on. Damn aboriginies.
"Look, I think I'm the least aggressive person here, perhaps with the acception of this new guy. You threatened to make me into "metal haze", while these "peacekeepers" are obviously psychotic. So shall I just order my ships away, or do you want a mutually beneficial agreement?"
Xenonier
09-04-2006, 15:45
OOC: Okay, time to straighten things out. J/e or whatever, You jump into his system and you don't expect him to have significant defenses? Try and stop using a "pokemon fleet (aka I CHOOSE YOU) on standby from a main. It's just not looked upon well, an there's no need to worry. Chances are someone will come along and stick up for your small nation. Heck, I would have. Besides, "omgs you wank" is hardly a big problem. Half of the solar alliances wank out of the bloody atmosphere, heck, even I do. But it's for the creation of our nation's , not for winning.

Futhermore, 1010102, try and reign it in. It's a smallscale intro thread, gods. There's no need to pull pokemon fleets from your regions either. and 435million isn't enough to have that much firepower for a borderline system, and if it's a main system = you should have opened fire already. And yeah, a lot of firepower in a small region I suppose. Beats me, but I only have one major system, and I focus my entire army into the hardest pint for pint fleet I've ever seen. So w/e. I shan't be the kettle.

IC:

On the way back from several diplomatic missions let Fleet 7, (or rather, fleetship 7, as it's really only one ship. Bah, semantics!), with Kaptain Hergiv and Diplomatic officer/femme anthro-atele Kenta, were on their way back to the protectorate. Given the lack of any real mischeif, or shalit, they merely considered the nature and status of their recent engagement, and the training of war.

This was almost always a chore for the young, immensely skilled and rather prideful Kenta. Never once had she ever defeated her (to be) Husband in any form of combat, and more to the point, virutally nobody had. He remained the weaponsmaster of the Speaker, and the most deadly Kaptain in terms of raw fighting potential. Even now, Kenta, a woman who had killed hundreds of enemies (often in those numbers) had been unable to land a single blow, and rivulets showed numerous nicks.

Not even a goddamn scratch ...

Then, the Ship's advanced sensors (temporal, dimensional, string based) detected the conflagration. Going at a relatively stately pace through, taking care to avoid breaching any borders, using maps aquired by traders, of course. Eventually, the gathering of ships and the phenomen Xenonians called "pokemon fleets" arrived, that ebing fleets reinforcing each other in a galatic game of "who has the biggest schlong".

Taking care to move slowly, the Xenonians inched closer, before just watching. If they were adressed, they would respond. Nothing more. IF anyone scanned them and had no expierience with Xenonians, they would assume their sensors were broken, or being jammed. The firepower and scale of this "insigificant" 538m ship and it's escorts had wiped out entire empires. It was always interesing to see how nations acted around them.

You brought both of your nations into a conflict without verifying it with other players, and only to prevent your own puppet's navy from being anihilated. His fleet is perfectly justified, especially if this is a home system or his setup is anywhere near mine. (Meaning: he has everything in the navy, no army to speak of.) Or he could be using a B-5 like techbase, which needs 11uberships to be able to fight on par with even a star destroyer.

IC:
The frigate noted the Xenonian craft, even if it did not know its origin, and recorded the energy signature for research and future knowledge. It sent an ultratightbeam towards the craft in galactic standard.

Greetings unknown craft. I see you have come to observe the conflict too. Be advised that an Infernoian fleet may soon arrive. We do not kow you, and have no reason to assume ill of you. Indeed, we wish to know nothing ill of you. Just know that there will soon be incoming units. Please don't shoot them or we will be forced to initiate the Tenfold Tradition, quite a pity in the case of misunderstanding.

It eased towards the conflict point, running low.

OOC: I think a fleet with five mile destroyers at that kind of size is blatantly unreasonable, even if he has no army, especially with those weapon platforms. I hope you'll take my word for it, but my navy is actually quite used to this kind of operation and would probably step in. As I said, because of doctorine clashes and so on, I would have fired at myself if 1010102 had taken a differant course of action, so I don't think "no other reason than to prevent my navy being anhilalated" is entirely accurate or fair. Of course, you know more than me, but it seems to boil down to major unintentinal godwank versus minor unintentional puppet wank. Whatever you think, and, on a side note, verifieing? If you hate something I've done ask, and fluid time will solve all. That's my policy, and its certainly better than deploying puppets without saying you have, which, I understand, has been done.

Edit: About "pokemon fleets", thats just how I work. It prevents the "all eggs in one basket" problem, gives me a free hand, and prevents overkill against small nations. With my FTL, it's a legitimate strategy, and anyway, that wasn't a real fleet at first anyway.
