ooc: this picks up where Mysterious Planet left off and will detail what happens when theres a containment incident on the battle barge.

ic: The Sephrion Battle Barge 'Armageddon' was sending out an automated distress call. power and gravity were off and loose items of equipment were floating in the pitch dark corridors.

Deep space can hold surprises and this ship was no exception..

Fujiko Akechi, formerly of the Kirisuban exploration fleet but now an agent of Sephrioth Arms Tech thought briefly and replied "when we left the ships systems were still active but I'd think its likely that they've broken down by now.

If what you told me about this virus is correct we'll going to have a rather large mess to clear up".

She looks at her team, Medic Asa Kodomo and Agent Mariko Toda. They all had rage sprayers as did Fujiko and now knew how to use them.

the human women check over their suits and they're now used to the Hellbreeds towering above them. Everyone was taller than they were.

Asa hoped she would never have to treat any of them since she didn't know quite where to start.

Asa checked over her medical supplies as she looked up at one of the male Hellbreeds.

She had been assured that they were loyal and especially tough but the medical nurse inside her was still concerned.

She had always thought it was unnatural to mess with genomes and the like.

Fujiko and Mariko were looking forward to the mission and ready for anything.

Without knowing if they had an atmosphere or not it was best not to take chances.

Fujiko and Mariko do the same as they continue to the docking hatch turning on the lights in their helmets.

Asa nods and is the first person aboard along with the Hellbreed commander.

The pitch darkness is broken by the light on her shoulder and she uses her medical scanner to probe ahead.

She noticed that the Hellbreeds were on edge as they said there was a nemesis on board. she had been told about them in the briefing.

She could detect signs of the virus in its airborne state and replied "theres no way I'll be taking this mask of here. One breath would infect me"

Asa puts her medical scanner back in its pouch on her belt and readies her rage sprayer.

she could just make out three figures in the distance walking since gravity was still on in this section of the ship.

She held fire until they got closer.

"theres one left for you Zero One" she replies "and don't waste rockets on these. guns will take them down just fine"

Fujiko takes in this first encounter and says "conserve ammo since we don't know when we'll reach the armoury. in the meantime use short controlled bursts"

Asa wonders what got into the female Hellbreed and shrugs her shoulders. showing off could get them killed in a dangerous place like this.

Asa had a short sword as well in case ammo became a problem.

"zero one, there no need to be nervous here" she says to try and help the woman "we've got plenty of backup and once the powers on we'll be able to see where we're going better" Asa says to her.

She had aquired a new level of fear since the battle on the mysterious planet but she knew nervousness when she seen it.

"Zero-one, get out of there" Fujiko calls into the darkness unable to draw a target.

Asa gives Zero-ones weapons to Zero-two and says "I think what you're carrying now is all the weapons you'll need"

she looks at her scanner again and finds it clear so they advance into the darkness until they reach an intersection.

"Ace sama" she asks "where do you have us on the map and whats round here?"

Fujiko says to Ace "we'll need to be careful in here. who knows how many of them are walking round engineering and a firefight in there is a bad idea.

the two women move cautiously and Mariko runs a bypass on the door.

the fight for engineering didn't take very long and Mariko found the matter/antimatter reactor and planted the charge she was given.

Fujiko takes the device Asa was carrying and is able to connect it to the power couplings on the warp core.

She hits a few buttons and power, gravity and life support is fully restored to the ship.

A Kirisuban Sakura class shuttle was a more common sight in the galaxy and the 4 women team led by a Lt Yukiko Omura was suiting up in preparation for an away mission.

They closed to within 1000 metres and took scans.

back in the engineering room of the Armageddon the signs of zombie activity were obvious. half consumed flesh and general destruction were apparant.

Mariko had been surprised by a hunter whose bite went right through her power armour and into her right arm.

the damaged plates had been cleaved and blood was coming from the suit.

"I don't think so" Mariko says as Asa checks the wound. the corpse of the hunter was beside her since it died after biting her.

Asa shakes her head after consulting her medical scanner.

"the wounds infected" she says "I don't know if i can deal with this or not"

she goes to her medical kit and takes out a prefilled syringe of the anti-virus.

she cleans up the wound before injecting it and stitches up the deep cut.

she looks at the others and says "I hope this works"

Mariko gets to her feet and Asa sprays some liquid skin over the wound so airborne infections can't get into the wound.

She runs another bypass and the door slides open.

Fujiko plants the charge in the armoury and two objectives have been met.

Fujiko's agents grab extra rockets just in case and are ready to move on.

They move out after getting an affirmitive reply from the XO.

Lt Omura heard the messages pass between the two parties and was content to wait until they arrived.

by now Aces team had arrived to meet up with the XO's team.

Mariko, Fujiko and Asa recognised the Kirisuban uniforms instantly but didn't give themselves away. after all there nothing to give them away since they had gas masks and power armour on.

Lt Omura immediatly spotted the women who were a lot smaller than the people around them. the medic stood out instantly and she wondered where they came from.

she made a mental note to talk to these people later on.

it was when one of them spoke that she thought they sounded familiar.

Fujiko says softly "I assume our next stop will the bridge" to Ace

Fujiko locates the nearest lift and says "i'll need a few hellbreeds with me in case we run into a problem on the way to the bridge.

Mariko, Asa you stay with the others. they'll need your skills"

She hits the lift recall button and waits.

as they exit the lift on the bridge level Fujiko cautiously looks round and she hears a lot of noise.

"damm it" she mutters "hell breeds you know what to do. short controlled bursts with guns and save the rockets for the tough ones" as a mass of infected crew members and hunters head towards them.

She fires her own rage sprayer as the wall of fire commences..

the hunters having been turned into little bits of meat the zombies advanced.

"zero one, how are zombies no concern. they're hungry and i don't want to lose any of you or your friends.

Fujiko opens up at a cluster of zombies using her rage sprayer like an old fashioned sub machine gun.

Fujiko was content to leave the zombies to Zero one and her team and she reloaded as a wall of firepower kept the hungry zombies back.

Some were trying to retreat but Fujiko didn't want to have to mop them up later.

she keeps dropping any that get within range and the corpses pile up in the corridor.

with te o.os team we must raid the lab and retreivie samples of the viruses

meanwhile back on the bridge level Fujiko was reloading again as zero ones troops mopped up the last of the infected crew.

The corridor was a charnel house and Fujiko was careful with her footing.

Consulting her map she located the bridge quickly and blasted the zombie in the head that tried to jump her as she entered.

the bridge now secure she plants the final charge and starts on accessing the final logs.

she plays them back while Zero one and her hellbreeds stay alert.

They didn't make pretty watching and the XO's final words were "they're at the bridge doors" as he readied his pistol.

then static cut the log short.

She had seen enough to know that any infected person could not leave the ship..

Lt Omura raises an eyebrow and asks "if this virus did so much damage why do you need samples for. You'll only infect your own ship if things go wrong"

"If this virus turned your people into those creatures" she says "I doubt there'll be many to save. However let us look in crew quarters so we can be sure. we won't need much help.

Back on the bridge Fujiko was downloading the final logs and relevant data from the ships computer.

Using the internal sensors she could still detect the airborne form of the virus and she had an idea. in order to to protect her families honour she would have to do something that was unthinkable to her.

Expose the visiting Kirisubans to the virus so they would never get home to reveal that Asa, Mariko and herself were still alive.

She comms Ace saying "the last charge is planted and i've downloaded the logs and other data from the ships computer.

We need to deal with our visitors otherwise this cleanup will never be secret"

She turns to Zero-one and says "when I call you Hoshi thats the signal to grab our guests and forceably remove their masks. I don't want them to leave this ship unaffected"

Zero-one nods and they leave the bridge heading into the lift and back to where they came from.

Lt Omura was a fiery as Fujiko was and refused saying "I'm taking my team back with me to the shuttle. its obvious thats there no more survivors and i'm not helping you take that virus back"

she crosses her arms in a gesture of defiance, her team wondering who'll win this deadly game of bluffing.

The Kirisubans were hustled down the corridor and met Fujiko's team who had just arrived back from the bridge.

She regarded the masked kirisuban personel and instantly picked out the officer by her rank insignia.

"Hoshi, help our guests" she says and the hellbreeds grab the womens arms moving a lot faster that expected.

"you made a mistake coming here" she said in Kirisuban to the officer "and now you will pay"

the hellbreeds rip of their masks and the infection is complete as the women gulp in a breath of infected air each.

"you'll never leave here now" Fujiko adds "death is certain" as she sees the fear rising in an ensigns young face.

Fujiko replied on an encrypted comms channel "Ace Sama, We can't let our guests leave now they're infected. its better to kill them here otherwise they'll infect more people and get to tell their story. We have to maintain the containment at all costs"

the Hell breeds still were holding the Kirisubans down and despite their struggles weren't getting anywhere.

she wondered what Ace was thinking by letting their guests go...

If its our orders to infect Kirisubo let me work on an alternate plan, one which will contain this incident and stop the blame getting back to Sephrioth Arms Tech. I know the planet better than you do and it'll only take the infection of a small city or town for Arms Tech to be heroes.

Fujiko clicks off the channel and says to the Kirisuban women "we're going to sickbay and my previous orders have been over ruled. you'll be getting the anti-virus and released after some modification of your memories.

All this was a lie but the kirisubans accepted it as the truth.

While on the way to the sickbay Fujiko and Zero one took out a few more zombies and the door hissed open.

apart from being in a mess the sickbay was still functional and Fujiko starts by giving them all what they think is the anti-virus. in reality it was a knockout drug and they would be asleep until they were woken by a stimulant.

"now we begin with the chief petty officer" Fujiko says as Zero-one lifts the woman onto the bio bed and Fujiko straps her on to it....

"I gave them knock out shots and they thought it was the anti-virus" Fujiko replies back "We need phials of truth serum brought up here before I can start questioning them"

she looks at the woman on the bio-bed and adds "once we get the information from them we could use them later on. I want to give them the anti virus for now but we can always reinfect them later on.

We also need one of your doctors up here so their memories can be altered"

"acknowledged" Fujiko replies into her comm line and locates what she needs.

she locates a hypospray in the mess of the sickbay and fills it with 4 shots of truth serum ready to begin.

She also fills up another hypospray with a stimulant and starts by injecting the Chief Petty Officer with the truth serum and then waking her.

In her confusion the Kirisubans eyes look glazed as the virus is also doing its work.

"what is your name and rank?" Fujiko says starting the questioning.

The Kirisuban woman still seems to be fighting the drugs effects but Fujiko could afford to be patient.

Fujiko didn't think this was going to be pretty but she knew they wouldn't be allowed to leave anyway.

"work away Ace sama" she says "the truth serum should be kicking in anytime now"

Fujiko passes Ace the bottle and remembers that the Stalkers use acid for blood. she knew because she faced them in battle and one of them nearly ate its way through a thruster on her shuttlecraft. their Sakura still had the scars to prove it.

Still the thought of torture made her nervous. that was why she was using a truth serum in the first place.

"is this really necessary?" she asks "why not see if the truth serum works before you start causing pain"

"just let me try this first athough" Fujiko replies.

She asks "what is your name, rank, serial number and security code?"

The Chief mumbles back "I am Chief Petty Officer Yuko Fujikata, serial number 78912304 and I don't have a security code"

the woman looks like she's about to sleep but Fujiko knows the drug is working at full effect.

"what is your commanders name?" she then asks as a check question already knowing who commands the Honshu and that Captains reputation as a man hater.

"Captain Aiko Satsuma" she mumbles back and Fujiko nods to Ace saying quietly "she's ready to tell us anything now"

Fujiko tightened the straps further and leaves the woman to the field aquilla.

replying in low sephrion herself she asks "do you plan to let them return or will they end up in another program?"

Fujiko says to Ace in low sephrion "I have told you where my homeworld is already so that was unnecessary. The Honsu is the same class as the Kagemon so they'll have the same weapons and crew.

Tell me what you need to know and I'll do it before you kill her she can't tell you anything when she's dead and she will be soon. the virus will kill her in less than 24 hours if my scans are right"

Fujiko takes a field dressing and wipes the acid of the womans face before it does anymore damage.

Fujiko repeats the question in Kirisuban and Yuko answers back weakly in the same tongue.

"she says that she heard that theres a Federal Union fleet there now as well as the normal Kirisuban defence fleet. i know thats 50 small starships unless they've added any since I was last home"

she adds in high sephrion "you are the field aquilla but sometimes I wonder what the plan is here. containment or contamination.

I would appreciate being kept in the loop since my team and your hellbreeds are the ones who'll have to lay down their lives if things go wrong"

Fujiko replies in high sephrion "so our orders are to prepare the way for an infection as well as containing this incident here.

she runs her medical scanner over Yuko again and adds in high sephrion "the simplest way to do that would be to wipe their memories and send them back in their shuttlecraft its controls automated until it hits the New Kirisuban system. then it looks like they tried to return home on their own. You'll have to be quick although if you want to do that. if they arrive back as zombies they'll be dealt with quickly and the plan won't work. I really doubt they'll reach their homeworld in a day.

the alternative is for me to go back with one of their identitys in their own shuttle, land and infect a settlement"

Fujiko listens as Ace outlines their orders and goes with her plan except Asa would be going in her place.

He also mentions sending in a nemesis with her and Fujiko wonders if thats a good idea.

"Ace, we'd be showing our hand if we deployed a nemesis. Kirisubans aren't stupid and they'd know it couldn't have been created by the outbreak"

Fujiko shakes her head as she continues in high sephrion.

"sending any bio-weapons in would be a bad idea. I would suggest that Asa creates a licker or two before she evacs. All she has to do inject the virus into a large animal or two and let the virus do its work"

"by critical i assume you mean total infection of a city" Fujiko says "just how far could the virus get on its own without any infected people carrying it"

"that means that the high command is willing to risk a planetwide infection of my homeworld for a little glory for Arms Tech" Fujiko replies in high sephrion "that will leave my people without a home assuming that a remnant of them get to safety. You would have to be able to offer my people a place in Sephrion society or a new homeworld and only Arms Tech high command could do that. leaving a planetary population to die out would look really bad on us. we'd have failed to contain the incident and that would reflect on our reputation.

theres also too many variables. what you need is a controlled infection and a backup plan to resettle Kirisuban surviors if it went badly wrong. A scapegoat like Red October would be nice as well. they're a hardline communist group that wants to overthrow the sitting government.

If they somehow got the virus and used it in a major city like Shii-Kyoto of about 100,000 people that should be contained enough. Your agents could then kill them so they couldn't say where they got the virus from and then an Arms Tech ship could just be passing through and be in a position to answer the call for help.

You need to bring this back to the high command and get them to add a plan B like i've suggested otherwise this will fail badly"
