General Dynamics is perhaps one of the most famous aviation firms in history. We are now resuming international sales; we hope to provide you with new and effective equipment.

Rules:
Do your own math. If your math is incorrect, we will add a surcharge of one percent (1%) to the correct total.

All prices are in US Dollars. We will check, using public records thirdgeek , to see that your defence budget is capable of paying for your purchase. Given ordinary requirements of maintaining an armed force, you will only be able to use about one-third of your defence budget for arms purchases.

We have the right to refuse a sale, although we will state why.

Unless given prior written permission, resale and reverse engineering our original designs that I create products is a violation of our copyrights. We will blacklist any nation that does this, and will encourage other companies to do likewise. For our purposes, a ship is considered to be copyrighted, rather than in the public domain, if the purpose of the original ship is altered. Modifications, meaning modifications on designs using parts developed by me or from someone else, or modifications that significantly change the purpose of a design, however, unless using exclusively parts not developed by us, will always be considered copyrighted.

General Dynamics is currently offering no shares of stock (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10756583&postcount=7); each share was last valued at $30.00 US.

M1A3 Abrams
Abstract: In the modern world, one cannot afford to be standing still. This is the belief of General Dynamics, and so we have decided to upgrade the venerable M1A2 design to better suit the current market. Given advances in tank design, this incarnation of the Abrams is closer to a light tank than to a main battle tank; nonetheless, it is still effective in whatever role it will be put in.

Armament: The M1A3 carries a 115 millimeter ETC (Electro-Thermal-Chemical) gun, along with twenty-four smoke grenades, an M240G 7.62mm co-axial MG, and an M2HB .50" (12.7mm) roof-mounted machine gun for the commander. The ETC gun operates as follows: an electrical charge is used to control a pre-existing plasma that regulates the propellant; it produces higher muzzle velocities, and thus can penetrate more armor than a conventional weapon. The weapon is powered through a 600-volt battery; we used a smaller (115mm) caliber gun to accomodate the battery.

Turret: The turret of the M1A3 can rotate a full 360 degrees. The gun itself can move from -8 degrees elevation up to +32 degrees elevation.

Ammo: A total of 47 rounds of 115mm (4.53"/59 caliber) ammo can be loaded. These include APFSDS (sabot), HEAT, target practice, target practice - sabot, HE, advanced tungsten KE, and canister rounds.

Propulsion: One significant problem with the M1A2 was its fuel-hungry turbine engine. The M1A3 solves the problem by fitting in a 1,600 hp diesel engine, which cuts down on fuel costs and provides better torque than a turbine. We can also replace the diesel engine with a 1,600 hp biodiesel engine for an additional $600,000 US; the reduced cost on fuel may or may not make up for the increased up-front cost.

Armor: The M1A3 uses an improved version of chobham armor, consisting of four layers of a steel-titanium compound, with each layer sandwiched by PVC (polyvinyl chloride) to ease stresses. Depleted uranium rods have been fitted into the armor at strategic points to make the armor more rigid and improve its resistance.

M2 Andrew Lim
Abstract: One of the biggest threats of this era is the armies of Kraven. General Dynamics has been asked personally to design a heavy tank that can stand with the best of the Kraven tanks, and has done so with the M2 Andrew Lim. Armed and armored heavily, the Andrew Lim, although fairly slow and not suited for battle in swamps and marshes, can hold its own against the best the Kraven army can throw at it.

The Gun: In designing the M2's armament, General Dynamics considered many different proposals before finalizing it. The M2 carries a 140 millimeter (5.51"/61 caliber) ETC (Electro-Thermal-Chemical) smoothbore gun as its primary armament. This weapon is, although smaller in diameter than the 185mm ETC gun of Kraven, still able to fire at the tremendous muzzle velocities believed necessary to penetrate the armor of the heaviest Kraven tanks. In order to fire, the gun is powered by an 750-volt battery; to avoid warping, it is fitted with a thermal sleeve.

The Turret: The turret of the M2 can rotate a full 360 degrees. The gun itself can move from -8 degrees elevation up to +32 degrees elevation.

The Secondary Armament: The Andrew Lim carries a large secondary battery, including a 32mm (1.26"/8 caliber) co-axial cannon, a 20mm roof-mounted cannon, a rear-mounted hextuple launcher for FIM-92 Stinger SAMs, and two rear-mounted twin launchers for BGM-109 TOW-2B ATGMs. The missiles are controlled by a separate crew member, so as to ease the jobs of the gunner and tank commander. Finally, twenty-four smoke grenades can be launched, providing the M2 with a means of concealing its movements in combat.

The Ammunition: A total of 47 rounds of 140mm (5.51"/61 caliber) ammo can be loaded. These include APFSDS (sabot), HEAT, target practice, target practice - sabot, HE, advanced tungsten KE, and canister rounds. The rounds are loaded by an auto-loader. Each round weighs roughly 12 kilograms.

The Propulsion: Given the massive power requirements needed to drive this tank, it was decided to use two General Dynamics/Rolls Royce Peregrine CV 13 engines, yielding a total of 3,200 hp.

The Armor: The Andrew Lim uses an improved version of chobham armor, consisting of five layers of a steel-titanium compound, with each layer sandwiched by PVC (polyvinyl chloride) to ease stresses. Depleted uranium rods have been fitted into the armor at strategic points to make the armor more rigid and improve its resistance.

The Electronics Package: The Andrew Lim uses the AN/GPL-1 Lidar and AN/PPS-5B radar, along with a more traditional laser sight, to spot and target hostile tanks. Further, it has Heads-Up Displays (HUDs) in order to make it easier for the tank's crew to see what is going on around them. Finally, the AN/GLY-1 Electronic Warfare Set has been fitted in to jam enemy radars and to mess with enemy communications. One crew member is tasked to handle the electronics, so as to ease the jobs of the gunner and tank commander.

The Crew: The crew has five members, but the tank can operate with as few as three. The additional crew members allow for more flexibility and redundancy within the tank, which makes the Andrew Lim a more capable tank.

The Conclusion: The M2 Andrew Lim is a tank worthy of its namesake, the man who saved The Beltway. Its armament and armor allow it to stand toe-to-toe with the best tanks in the world and win.

M120 George Crook IFV/M121 Nelson Miles CFV
Introduction: The Bradley series of infantry fighting vehicles and cavalry fighting vehicles has aged significantly over the last decade. As such, General Dynamics has decided to create an entirely new design, the M120 George Crook.

Armament: The M120 IFV and the M121 Nelson Miles CFV both carry a 32mm (1.26"/8 caliber) cannon as its primary armament, along with a 12.7x99mm (0.5") M2HB coaxial machine gun, a roof-mounted 15.5x105mm (0.61") M252 machine gun, and two triple launchers for the BGM-71 TOW-2B ATGM. This armament package is designed to take out infantry, light vehicles, helicopters, and even - if necessary - tanks. Further, the M120 has four firing points in its hull to allow troops to use firing point weapons.

Armor: The M120 and the M121 use a lighter version of the improved chobham armor found in the M1A3 and M2 tanks. This armor consists of three layers of a steel-titanium compound, with each layer sandwiched by PVC (polyvinyl chloride) to ease stresses. Depleted uranium rods have been fitted into the armor at strategic points to make the armor more rigid and improve its resistance.

Systems: The M121 Nelson Miles CFV carries the AN/GPL-1 Lidar and the AN/PPS-5B radar in order to fulfill its role as a recon vehicle; both the M120 and the M121 have the AN/GLY-1 Electronic Warfare Set to jam enemy radars and to mess with enemy communications. Further, the two vehicles use the AN/VVG-2 ruby laser rangefinder. Finally, both use the AN/GYG-1 Missile Countermeasure Device, which uses infrared radiation to throw off the guidance of ATGMs targeted at the vehicle on which the AN/GYG-1 is used.

Passengers and Crew: The M120 has a crew of three: commander, driver, and gunner. It carries eleven fully-armed troops in its hull. The M121 has a crew of four: commander, driver, gunner, and electronics operator. It carries six fully-armed cavalrymen.

M125 Upgraded Vulcan Air Defence System
Introduction: The M163A2 Product Improvement Vulcan ADS is by now obsolete; however, the basic concept - using a Gatling gun-style weapon to take down enemy helicopters and low-flying aircraft - remains useful. General Dynamics has taken the M120 chassis and fitted on an upgraded version of the Vulcan system.

A New Weapons System for a New Age: The M125 features the M169 Vulcan-II system. This uses five 32mm (1.26"/8 caliber) cannons, grouped on a geared motor and capable of firing up to 2,800 rpm, and a quad mount for the FIM-92 Stinger SAM. Combined, the cannon and missiles provide a potent defence against helicopters and low-flying aircraft.

M131 AVLB
Abstract: Based on the M127 Benjamin Grierson light tank, this Armored Vehicle Launched Bridge allows vehicles to quickly and effectively cross rivers. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by what you're asking OOCly; just take this purchase into account for future purchases, or just make purchases for future years or other branches of the service.

To Monkey Fights -
Your order is confirmed. Your tanks will be delivered in four months, your IFVs in one month, and your ammunition in twelve days. Thank you for choosing General Dynamics for your defence needs.

Grey out at GD
Richmond
Yesterday, in light of the complete rejection of the bid of General Dynamics to arm Orezia's army, Lewis Banks, GD's Chief Executive Officer, had his Chief Operations Officer, George Grey, fired. Grey's ouster has struck chills in General Dynamics, and may be the start of a shake-up at the venerable defence firm.
CEO Lewis Banks said, "We cannot tolerate such a complete failure as Grey's at General Dynamics. We will win the Orezian contract, and Grey's departure from General Dynamics will improve our corporation immensely." When asked to comment further, Banks declined...--End of Excerpt--

Our accountants have discovered that you paid double the amount you should have paid, as the cost is listed for one system of two engines. We are hereby refunding you the extra $113 million US in light of this mistake. We apologize; this seems to have been another one of the mishaps characteristic of our former Chief Operations Officer, George Grey.
Sincerely,
Lewis Banks, CEO of General Dynamics
