In the first time, the great hyperspace core was found.
With it came the gift of interstellar travel, the Outer Rim Trade routes were established, uniting the Galaxy in peace.
Four thousand Years passed before the second core was discovered on a desert planet.
Pain and bloodshed flowed in its wake, but the exiles returned to their homeworld Higaara.
A yound woman led them across the Galaxy and it is she who will lead them again, hrer name is Karan S'jet.
This is the story of the end time.
We know this because the third core has been found, under the dark influence of this core, the Taidaan have risen under a new leader, a Vaygr warrior lord named Makaan. Hes calls himself the Sajuuk-Khar, the Chosen One.
Many systems have alrady fallen under his shadow and his eyes are set on Higaara.
Deep inside the Great Derelict at Tanis, construction of a new Mothership is under way, the Pride of Higaara.
Once more the exiles will face the coming darkness.

Long ago the exploration Mothership had travelled through the worm hole to the edges of this unknown galaxy. They had traversed the depths of space for a great many years, doing their best to avoid the local races. All of that was about to change, however. Fate had their path crossed with another on this day, and there was no way to keep secret any longer.
Admiral Rob Gunderson stood in the observation tower, a small room with windows directly to space on all sides. He watched as scout craft came and went, zipping about the area and gathering data. Why the hell had he been borne here, on this mission? Life was so monotonous here, so far from the home which would likely never receive the data they collected.
Suddenly, the soft glow of shields covered the windows. An alarm went off, rising and falling like some ancient air raid siren. "Battle stations! Battle stations! Unknowns inbound! All men to battle stations!"
Bridge:
"Hyperspace signatures inbound!"
"Shit! They're right on top of us!"
"Get the recon flights in bay ASAP!" Shouts continued to flood the bridge. They were going to be in trouble if they had to fight...

"Damage Report?" The captain yelled over his alarms as he hauled himself back onto his chair, his hands gripping his console. The console onwhich all the lights were turning rapidly orange and blinking red.
"Topside Ion Turret destroyed, Three Main Mass Drivers destroyed, Engine 1 Offline, Two Point Defence batteries destroyed, Sensors report another pair of infiltration frigates approaching. That will make Five"
"Only if they get here" as he spoke the remaining twin ion cannons flared, sending two beams of energy off to strike the lead enemy frigate. Its rolled over as the beams turned its bridge into a burnt hole. The frigate kept accelerating and starting veering off, striking the other frigate. Both exploded, casting a savage light across the battlefield.
The Captain looked down at his console. The sensors showed an increasing tide of red blips overwhelming the smaller number of green dots representing the Hiigaraans defending the Kiith Somtaaw mothership as it repaired its damaged hyperdrive. Two more large blips, battlecruisers. Were approaching from directly ahead. He hit his intercomm "All Hands, abandon ship. abandon ship"
The bridge crew looked at him, then left the bridge. Escape pods blazed away from the hull and headed back to be recovered by the shuttles supported by the groups carriers.
He hit his controls, the critically damaged heavy cruiser surged towards the pair of enemy cruisers, the launched hundreds of missiles, some of the missiles were picked off by the automated PD guns, the others cut huge holes in the ships armour, shearing huge peices of the armour off of the hull.
The ship kept coming, and at maximum speed, slammed into the bow of one of the battlecruisers. In a titanic fireball, all three supercapital ships were destroyed. The Somtaaw ship repaired its hyperdrive, and the strike craft and escape pods, under a hail of fire returned to the fleet. The whole tattered armada jumped back to Higaara, thier lives bought by the sacrifice of the Captain of the Toban

Karan S'jet shivered in the sensorium gel, its thick, cloying surface wrapped around her body, the wires in her scalp floating leisurely about her face, as yet, not connected with the datalink that would turn her from frail human into the very soul of the Pride of Hiigara.
But it was not the cold gel or the tickling sensation of the wires, that chilled her most.
The loss of six Hiigaran colonies on the outskirts of the Dust Cloud had been thought of as impossibility, their allies, the Taidans, had not been heard from, save for a veritable flood of refugee ships in varying states of damage fleeing into the Inner Rim.
They spoke of the Vaygr, a foe unlike any faced before. They were swift, merciless, powerful, but the most frightening aspect was reported from the sensor logs brought aboard a Taidan transport. It had recorded the first battle between the Taidan fleet, with the flagships of the Vaygr.
The Hyperspace signature aboard the giant ship that hung in space like an omen of death, was virtually identical to the Hiigaran Core.
They had met their match.
And Makaan would not be easily defeated. She'd watched the datafeeds of the striped ships boiling the worlds of countless allies and foes to molten wastelands, and then stripping them clean.
And now their enemy was on their doorstep.
No. That was wrong. He was in the Foyer, and tracking dirt on the threshold.
By all that was Kiith, she prayed for the strength to defeat this mortal enemy. If they did not...
Hiigara would be consumed. They'd lose the home they'd crossed a Galaxy, destroyed an Emperor, lost an adopted home, for.
Not whilst she was still alive, would that ever happen. She would endure the datalink, become the embodiment of all that was Hiigaran, and she would beat back the shadows beyond the rim. With every fibre of her being she would fight.

Vagyar ships swarmed Gunderson's command vessels, lance fighters slashing across the capital ships to cut in with their plasma weaponry, followed up by attacks by Vagyar bombers, throwing up torpedo masses. Behind the fighter wave came capital ships and corvettes, Vagyar lance corvettes striking fast at enemy frigates, cutting in and dodging out before retaliation could be struck.
Behind the quick strike forces, the main fleet of Captain V'thar Mayrax, an admiral under the command of the revered Makaan himself, reared in. Missile frigates launched heavy salvos of fusion missiles at the enemy lines, supplementing the attacks of the swarming masses of corvettes and fighters that were now all over the enemy, attacking away with abandon.

"Damn the Beasts!" Gunderson shouted as he fled down out of the observation tower. The 'fleet' consisted of really two vessels, the MS and a carrier. Yes, there were a few frigate sized research vessels and small vessels, but none were combat worthy. In truth, the carrier wasn't either. It had been built without shields and minimal armor. It's weapons were point-defense only and for the destruction of asteroids. In a few short moments, its reactors went into a chain reaction detonation and the ship was replaced by a massive shock wave.
The MS reared away from the blast, fleeing the battle at painfully slow speeds. They did have one advantage over the hoards of fighters, however. At the time of its launch, Magnetic Particle Shielding was state-of-the-art defensive technology. Trillions of tiny metallic bits and pieces whipped around the ship with blinding speed in random and erratic patterns. They were designed to slam into fighters, missiles, and the like and tear them to shreds, using their parts to rebuild the shrapnel field stronger. Currently, however, it was proving only 45% effective (it was an early model and had been disused for many years.) As more craft entered it, however, it began to grow in density and thus effectiveness. For now, point-defense lasers would have to cover the gaps.
Outer sections of the ship were sealed off and isolated while the hull took a pounding. The massive bay doors closed for the first time in a long time, protecting the frigates and small craft within. Their jump drives weren't close to being charged, so energy was diverted to weapon systems. The mighty vessel's HLICs (heavy lethal ion cannons) fired in anger for the first time ever, working at the relatively simple task of destroying frigates.
A distress call was broadcast in desperation, after all, there was no point to keeping secret anymore if it meant death. Please, help us! We are under heavy assault by unknown forces without provocation! We are in dire need of assistance!

The Taskforce had left the Kiith Somtaww mothership on the outskirts of the Hiigaara system and was being moved to fleet staging area at Sarum, where a new Heavy Cruiser Was under construction to replace the one lost in the fleets last engagement, the carriers of the group had been churning out fighter craft, frigates and corvettes, soon the fleet would be up to its previous strength, and ready to get back into the fight against the constantly advancing Vaygr, then a massive group of superheavy gravity wells, the fleet dropped out of hyperspace. Straight into the middle of a massive firefight.
"Launch Interceptors and Corvettes, all Bombers stand-by"
The group had appeared about five kilometres below the plane of the battle, the ships straddling the Vaygr formation,
The primary guns and ion cannons of the biggerships blazed at the Vaygr command vessels, while frigates struggled to line up thier main armaments, squadrons of interceptors launched and began to drop onto the tails of the Vaygr fighters

"Sir, another fleet has entered the area! They're attacking the first fleet!"
"The enemy of my enemy-" Gunderson started.
"-is your friend, sir. Tactical, do not fire upon the new fleet!" TC (Tactical Commander) Kevin Matlof had been waiting all his life for combat; it was his job, after all.
"I'm still your superior. Why don't you go find something to micro-manage as usual-rather than-" The admiral cut himself short, realizing that there was a bigger battle to fight.
A message was transmitted to the new arrivals thanking them profusely for their aid.

"Damn!" shouted Myrax aboard the fleet's command cruiser, depraved of his chance for a finishing blow. "Concentrate fire at the new interlopers!"
Assault fighters broke off to engage the flanking interceptors as the bombers pulled away from the initial targets. The corvette masses threw up fire at the fighters as they closed in to the new menace, the bombers initiating evasive manuevers while at the same time lessening the distance to closure. The frigates and cruisers of the fleet now opened fire as well.

"Tanis control, begin final preparations, Link me in. I want to conduct the final tests and get the Pride underway." Whispered S'jet. She wasn't actually talking, the communication link was set to the Tanis spaceyard's command channel.
"But, Honoured Elder, she's not ready for combat, the major gun emplacements aren't fitted ye-"
"We may not have time, Control. We will ensure main systems are online, but anything else we cannot afford to do. If she flies, supports, builds, and her sensors work, I'd qualify that a success."
