Greetings, members of the Nationstates International Incidents community. I'm Ttambo, a relatively new user on Nationstates with an extensive roleplaying history on various sites. I've come to you today with an idea I got from the current Godfather RP that's circulating in I.I. (one in which I'm not participating). The concept? Mob Earth, a roleplay based in a single fictional city (American-based) that takes place in the year 1925, smack dab in the middle of prohibition. Instead of roleplaying nations, each participant would take on a family (one of their own creation) and fight other families for territories within the city. Mob Earth would be part character roleplaying and part statistics, as I'm currently trying to figure out a sort of stats system that we can go by. Families would start out with a certain amount of gangsters, money, weapons, and businesses, and they would have to fight other families to expand their criminal empire.
Of course, not everybody would have to be a gangster family. One could play the mayor or police chief and have an entire police force at the tips of their fingers--they could take bribes from families and crack down on others. The concept of Mob Earth would allow for a vast range of different roleplaying styles and would, in my humble opinion, be a blast.
Families would have an income based on the amount of businesses they have. Some territories would have more lucrative businesses than others, and could stir up competition among the families. "When do I start?" you're probably asking. Well, that's the problem I'm currently facing. At this point, it's only a concept. Now, I've currently hammered out a bunch of ideas for territories and I plan on starting a map in paint tonight, but as it stands now I've got no clue as to whether people would be interested in this or not and only a faint idea of how I'll work the incomes and soldier growth. I come to you, the roleplayers and writers of NS, for feedback and ideas, or just a simple statement to show you're interested. Let me know what you think.
