Anjíer Research Organization to Host Armor Simulation
The Macabees

Competition to be Held!
Anjíer Research Organization is looking for two main battle tanks of any foreign projects - in other words, two from each nation. The purpose would be to test different main battle tanks against each other, including the prototypes for the Arca. IV. For your convinience, engineers will not be able to get within a certain distance from the tanks presented unless the nation who has sold the armour specifically agrees to the tank being looked over. The tanks will be driven by a team of three crews [a back up crew included] 'rented' by the nation - the crews will be returned to the nation post-trials. The consequent paper to be released by Anjíer will be released to all nations who agreed to sell tanks for the trial. Post-trial the tanks can also be sold back for the same price they were purchase for in the beginning. Should a nation know that it wants its armor returned, it can send tanks to the trial free of charge, and the crews will still be rented. However, for those that aren't sure, that former option is still available. The paper will be released post-trials and it will include the preformance of each tank versus the other tanks. Two tanks are necessary for any unexpected mechanical break downs [knowing that our teams do not necessarilly know how to fix your tank - unless it's an allied tank, or a tank we've met in battle before].
The trials will be centered almost completely around the preformance of tanks against each other on the open field, including armour penetration, reaction time, velocity of the battle, and other specifics that one will be able to read in the report [laser ammunition will be used, but statistics will come through the accurate insertion of real life ammunition statistics, based on round weights, length, diameter and muzzle velocity - muzzle velocity will be tested from a distance before the competition]. Truth be told, the paper will also be presented to Kriegzimmer. We are looking for your armor!

[OOC: I'll carry through with this if I get a substantial number of tanks introduced for the trials. In the end, I might not through with it all and send you guys back the tanks simply because of the objection some people might take to my type of scoring. Maybe I can design some type of formula which will develope some sort of 'score' being tanks, and I can use that. Hmmm.]

Kahanistan Republic Guard
The Kahanistanian Presidential Guard will provide two tanks of its newest design (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10544054&postcount=28), the Merkava V-K, for use in this competition. Should they perform well, I will recommend that the design be adopted by the Kahanistanian ground forces at large.
I am also aware of MassPwnage's participation in these trials. It would be my pleasure to personally crush their armor, but I am currently in attendance at a conference which has dragged on for longer than I expected.

Major Mara K. Fulton,
Kahanistan Republic Guard
Dear sir(s),
We would like to offer our general-purpose main battle tank for the Anjíer Research Organization's test, the M5A2 'Løve' main battle tank. This is a slightly aging design, but we believe that it is still most capable of sustaining on the modern battlefield. If you are interested, we shall ship two vehicles to your testing facility as soon as possible, most likely via transport aircraft to speed up things. Please bear in mind that these are tested, used vehicles from our equipment depots, and thus may have some bulks and some scratched paint. However, those are only cosmetic issues. The vehicles are recently overhauled and ready for action.
[OOC: Specs to come soon if you want it to participate. Just got to write them in from Word.]

New Tank -- Based on the PRC (Peoples Republic of China) Type 63A and the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle of the US Marine Corps
I think it would cost about $5 million dollars because of the hydroplaning, carbon nanotubes, and advanced electronics. It could be up to $10 million. This is a prototype so there would be cost overruns.
Tiger Shark Mark 1 Medium Tank
Weight 48 Tons Fully Loaded (Actual weight of fully loaded EFV).
Length 10 Meters
Width 3.5 Meters
Height 4.0 Meters
Engine: 2 Side water jets hydroplaning , Supercharged 1200 HP MFI-- Multiple Fuel Injection Engine (This is similar to what is used in the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle.)
Max Speed: 120 KPH Land, 50 KPH Water-- The tank is highly maneuverable and capable of going over rough terrain.
Crew: 4
Armor: Ceramic composite armor infused with carbon nanotube fibers over high tensile HY 80 Steel and Titanium Alloy. Sealed against gas, biological nuclear attack, EMP hardened.
Weaponry: 1 x 105 MM Gun, 40 Round Magazine, 1 20 MM Antiaircraft Machine Gun, 2 side turret mounted 60 MM hydraulic low recoil mortar launchers, 1 High Frequency Microwave Antihoming EM Device. 2 Forward gas vents, 2 side gas vents each side, 2 rear gas vents each side. Anti-mine under armor.
Ammunition:
The 105 MM gun is designed to fire a laser guided rocket assisted shell bassed on the Russian 9M117 bastion technology which has increases the range and stopping power of the projectile. This effectively gives the tank a far greater range than similar tanks-- 5.2 KM. Additionally, fire accuracy is sustained by the dual-way stabilisation and computerised fire control, even while the tank is swimming. (From Type 63 A Tank)
The 100 mm round resembles a normal 100 mm round, and is loaded and fired in the same fashion. The round uses a reduced explosive charge to launch the projectile out of the barrel of the gun at around 400 to 500 m/s. After leaving the barrel of the gun, a small cover falls away from the window on the rear of the missile. The rocket motor ignites 1.5 seconds after firing the missile, and it burns for 6 seconds.
The missiles flight time to 4000 meters is approximately 12 seconds, and the probability of hitting a tank sized target is reported as 80%. After 26 to 41 seconds the missile self destructs. It is a HEAT round.
The high frequency microwave antihoming device is an anti-material beam weapon designed to destroy unhardened electronics. It cannot harm people.
The 20 MM antiaircraft gun fires depleted uranium shells.
The gas vents are designed to release smoke, and other gases.
The tank is equipped with GPS, a standard hardened computer, laser and optical rangefinders, a night vision tracking system for night operations, a locator system which tracks each tank in its unit so the location of each tank is known, and a networked wireless communication system between tanks.
This tank is designed to be launched directly onto the water for littoral operations. It can hydroplane at 25.5 MPH, move onto the beach and directly attack its target.

[OOC: Everyone has been accepted. I'm going to talk with someone else and work out some kind of formula. I already have some of the parameters set, including:
Weight
Length
Width
Length/Width Ratio
Height [Profile]
Bore Size
Muzzle Velocity [I can get an estimated number given bore size, round weight and type of gun]
Round Type [I'll think of a way to get a uniform scale to 'measure' different type of rounds - seeing as some people don't use the APFSDS, which was going to be the sole round used during the competition]
Round Weight
Penetrator Diameter [the penetrator of the sabot..not the entire sabot]
Penetrator Length
[OOC: If one doesn't have this information available then a common RL round will be used in its place - one fitted for the bore]
Fire Damage Control
...amongst other things. But I really have to talk with other people and see how we're going to put this together into a series of formulas to actually, and fairly, rate these MBTs against each other.

OOC: I think I'm going to drop the formula idea and simply do this through my perception. In other words, I will base the tanks upon my vision of what is superior or not - this can be translated ICly as some sort of home advantage to the Arca. IV Prototype if you'd like. I will base everything off all categories, and all types of rounds will be able to be used. I will roleplay each and every encounter and roleplay the results.

All of the technology involved would be ready by 2030.
Modeled after Hammer's Slammer -- David Drake
Cost $25 million dollars.
Weight 65 Tons
Length: 10 Meters
Height : 3 Meters
Width: 4 Meters
Crew: 4
Armor: Internal liquid cooling gel layer and air conditioners. 3 inches of Iridium and Tungsten Steel alloy. Iridium functions as a heat sink, so does tungsten steel, this limits the effectiveness of plasma and laser weapons. We have to mine the iridium from low orbit asteroids. Over this is an inch of bioceramic and carbon nanotube spray on lightweight polymer. The final coating is an inch of energy refractive heat absorbent coating designed to counter lasers and disperse plasma-- mirror shielding. The inside has ABC and EMP hardening-- atomic, biological, chemical and EMP hardening
Equipment: 125 MM Rifled Railgun Designed to fire four shells, a caseless superheated magma glass round with carbon nanotube core penetrator rods at 3000 m/second, a high explosive antitank round, a thermobaric explosive round, or a chemical or biological containment shell. 50 Shell magazine.
High Power Microwave Gun-- This gun will fry electronics in all but the most heavily shielded vehicles. It can be set on automatic intercept mode to fry the homing control on missiles.
Swivel Mounted Fusion Torch: Short range continuous cutting beam-- 60 feet long. This will cut through practically anything. It can cut an incoming tank in half.
Antipersonnel Skirt with detection suite: When activated this system detects foot soldiers within 40 meters and fires antipersonnel shredder charges at them.
Point Defense: 3 swivel mounted tribarrel metalstorm point defense machine guns. These guns can knock out incoming missiles. They are slaved to an onboard radar, motion, infrared ferrometallic, and satellite detection system that can track missiles and shells in the air and blow them to bits.
1 Metalstorm Quad Barrel 40 MM HEAT Grenade Launcher.
1 Missile cell box with 12 hard point penetrator EMP missiles.
Engine: This tank supports triple table top sonofusion bottles. A very real possibility in the next 20 years. This gives it tremendous power. It is as fast as a Maglev bullet train. Underneath the tank are six armored nacelles with supercharged turbolift fans. It can go 600 KPH and has a normal lift clearance of 3 meters. It can for moments be supercharged to 9 feet of lift clearance. On water in supercharged mode it can go 150 KPH. The Aerotrain was a heavy lift hovertrain developed in the 1970s so it would be possible to build super heavy lift engines if done right. It had top speeds of 500 MPH I think.
Detection Suite and Electronics: This tank has built in rangefinders and an advanced detection suite. Inside is a 360 degree view panel. It combines GPS, video, radar, ferrometallic, infrared, motion, laser, and satellite detection systems which are slaved to a fast diamond space manufactured computer system-- 100 GHZ. This allows for both automated defense with the guns and highly accurate targeting. All tanks are linked through a wireless satellite and tank computer system. This allows coordinated fire control, and monitoring of every tank in the units location.
Note: Many components of this tank use precision zero gravity vacuum manufacturing, specifically, the computer systems and electronics to insure purity and quality control of materials. The mirror shielding is a dense crystalline matrix and will not mix properly in gravitational environments. Iridium is not usually found in large quantities in terrestrial environments, it is mined from asteroids. This makes this tank thoroughly PMT/FT

The Infinite Empire has decided that it would be willing to participate in this trial. As such we will send to you two SA-12 Bloodhowler’s, with a full crew. I am sure you will find them more than formidable enough for the coming test.
We do not require payment for this, as the Empire is as interested in seeing the results as you are. Consider them on loan – on the condition that no non-Yallakian personnel are permitted to perform any work on the vehicles and that they are returned to us at the conclusion of the ‘games’.
SA-12 ‘Bloodhowler’
Overview: The Bloodhowler is now the principle combat tank of the Imperial Army. Previously the Empire had replied relied upon the SA-11 Behemoth, but the need for an upgrade became evident during the Fourth Edolian War – where Yallak was involved in several large scale armour engagement (in which the Imperial kill ratio was only around 2:1).
After countless months of work and near limitless resources being poured into the development project, the Bloodhowler after such extensive work, now barely resembles its predecessor. But it is all the better of for it. Larger, more powerful and with armour that screams ‘I am as close to invulnerability as you’ll get’, this tank is more than a match for any competitor and can crack open even the most heavily fortified enemy line.

Note: Feel free to make comments about anything obviously completely out of wack so it works at a minimal level. This is a first go at this kind of thing for me. I'll gladly fix it. I mixed and matched from the PRC-- Peoples Republic of China Type 63A amphibious tank and the US Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle, a 48 ton monstrosity due out in 2008 which is the replacement for the Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle. Some of it won't quite work. Everything is conceptual. There is no medium amphibious tank right now, the closest thing is the EFV.

General Dynamics has been asked personally to design a heavy tank that can stand with the best of the Kraven tanks, and has done so with the M2 Andrew Lim. Armed and armored heavily, the Andrew Lim, although fairly slow and not suited for battle in swamps and marshes, can hold its own against the best the Kraven army can throw at it.
The Gun: In designing the M2's armament, General Dynamics considered many different proposals before finalizing it. The M2 carries a 140 millimeter (5.51"/61 caliber) ETC (Electro-Thermal-Chemical) smoothbore gun as its primary armament. This weapon is, although smaller in diameter than the 185mm ETC gun of Kraven, still able to fire at the tremendous muzzle velocities believed necessary to penetrate the armor of the heaviest Kraven tanks. In order to fire, the gun is powered by an 750-volt battery; to avoid warping, it is fitted with a thermal sleeve.
The Turret: The turret of the M2 can rotate a full 360 degrees. The gun itself can move from -8 degrees elevation up to +32 degrees elevation.
The Secondary Armament: The Andrew Lim carries a large secondary battery, including a 32mm (1.26"/8 caliber) co-axial cannon, a 20mm roof-mounted cannon, a rear-mounted hextuple launcher for FIM-92 Stinger SAMs, and two rear-mounted twin launchers for BGM-109 TOW-2B ATGMs. The missiles are controlled by a separate crew member, so as to ease the jobs of the gunner and tank commander. Finally, twenty-four smoke grenades can be launched, providing the M2 with a means of concealing its movements in combat.
The Ammunition: A total of 47 rounds of 140mm (5.51"/61 caliber) ammo can be loaded. These include APFSDS (sabot), HEAT, target practice, target practice - sabot, HE, advanced tungsten KE, and canister rounds. The rounds are loaded by an auto-loader. Each round weighs roughly 12 kilograms.
The Propulsion: Given the massive power requirements needed to drive this tank, it was decided to use two General Dynamics/Rolls Royce Peregrine CV 13 engines, yielding a total of 3,200 hp.
The Armor: The Andrew Lim uses an improved version of chobham armor, consisting of five layers of a steel-titanium compound, with each layer sandwiched by PVC (polyvinyl chloride) to ease stresses. Depleted uranium rods have been fitted into the armor at strategic points to make the armor more rigid and improve its resistance.
The Electronics Package: The Andrew Lim uses the AN/GPL-1 Lidar and AN/PPS-5B radar, along with a more traditional laser sight, to spot and target hostile tanks. Further, it has Heads-Up Displays (HUDs) in order to make it easier for the tank's crew to see what is going on around them. Finally, the AN/GLY-1 Electronic Warfare Set has been fitted in to jam enemy radars and to mess with enemy communications. One crew member is tasked to handle the electronics, so as to ease the jobs of the gunner and tank commander.
The Crew: The crew has five members, but the tank can operate with as few as three. The additional crew members allow for more flexibility and redundancy within the tank, which makes the Andrew Lim a more capable tank.
The Conclusion: The M2 Andrew Lim is a tank worthy of its namesake, the man who saved The Beltway. Its armament and armor allow it to stand toe-to-toe with the best tanks in the world and win.

We can provide our own crews, if you prefer; all of our transportation costs will be covered by our company. To deliver the tanks, we can either ship them by sea or can deliver them in two parts by C-5; in the event of the latter, our own mechanics will need to come along to reassemble the tanks on arrival.
Sincerely,
Lewis Banks, CEO of General Dynamics
Kraven, I really don't know if this would stand up to your tanks; the language involved is more of a marketing ploy than anything else. By the way, your SHBT could probably get around 19-20 mph on roads (10-15 mph cross-country), given the power-to-weight ratio of 10.5...
Oh, and I don't consider anything above a few hundred tons a tank so much as a mobile fort.
By the way, nice pic!

Cool. Can NOVA still film? It could create a few interesting scenes, such as any attempts to interview Kraven people and attempts to film a tank battle - which I imagine would be rather chaotic, even if it's only one-on-one...
Call this a medium tank as opposed to an MBT, given the smaller gun. You already have a light tank, after all...
General Dynamics, upon consultation with Anjier, has chosen to send two M1A3 Abrams tanks to the competition. Specs are provided below:Abstract: In the modern world, one cannot afford to be standing still. This is the belief of General Dynamics, and so we have decided to upgrade the venerable M1A2 design to better suit the current market. Given advances in tank design, this incarnation of the Abrams is closer to a light tank than to a main battle tank; nonetheless, it is still effective in whatever role it will be put in.
Armament: The M1A3 carries a 115 millimeter ETC (Electro-Thermal-Chemical) gun, along with twenty-four smoke grenades, an M240G 7.62mm co-axial MG, and an M2HB .50" (12.7mm) roof-mounted machine gun for the commander. The ETC gun produces higher muzzle velocities than a conventional weapon, and thus can penetrate more armor. The weapon is powered through a 600-volt battery; we used a smaller (115mm) caliber gun to accomodate the battery.
Turret: The turret of the M1A3 can rotate a full 360 degrees. The gun itself can move from -8 degrees elevation up to +32 degrees elevation.
Ammo: A total of 47 rounds of 115mm (4.53"/59 caliber) ammo can be loaded. These include APFSDS (sabot), HEAT, target practice, target practice - sabot, HE, advanced tungsten KE, and canister rounds.
Propulsion: One significant problem with the M1A2 was its fuel-hungry turbine engine. The M1A3 solves the problem by fitting in a 1,600 hp diesel engine, which cuts down on fuel costs and provides better torque than a turbine. We can also replace the diesel engine with a 1,600 hp biodiesel engine for an additional $600,000 US; the reduced cost on fuel may or may not make up for the increased up-front cost.
Armor: The M1A3 uses an improved version of chobham armor, consisting of four layers of a steel-titanium compound, with each layer sandwiched by PVC (polyvinyl chloride) to ease stresses. Depleted uranium rods have been fitted into the armor at strategic points to make the armor more rigid and improve its resistance.

M-26UMX Main Battle Tank
http://www.army-technology.com/projects/t80/images/t-80_1.jpg
Design
Designed to combat all other Main Battle Tanks in the world, the M-26 had had everything we own put into it. Design was VERY important, and we have had all our autobile companinies, tank manufacturers and some experts from other countries helping us. But, we've made it better.
The Xversion is state of the art, the finest on earth. With the latest technology and everything a tank needs, any Medum Tank on earth can be combatted with this, even some what would be called a lightweight tank.
It is based on the old T-80, and more lately on the T-80UK. We like the idea of the tank, and wanted to capitalise on it. The turret and hull combine well and look sleek and low figured, ideal for a main battle tank. It also had to allow for a large gun with lots of recoil, which has been catered for with design modifications.
Turret siding has been installed, and the smoke dispensers have been moved to a position on the side which is clearly seen. ATGM pods have been installed, and Mud and bullet deflectors have been positioned on the turret. Various new electronics and periscopes have been installed, which are detailed in 'systems'.
The turret has been moved forward to allow for a very large engine, a 1800 Horsepower Hydrogen Turbo Charged KZ-79 Battle Tank engine, which is state of the art, and is our latest engine. Electronically sontrolled with turbochragers and everythign else you'll need, this beast can accelerate the tank to some astonishing speeds. The engine is strategically placed in a well armored section, which is well armored on the top as well as sides.
On the new updated UMX version, there is a new armor to boot. It is constructed of a titanium alloy in an epoxy-resin honeycomb. Also, tunsten is mixed through while lightened to make sure weight isnt increased. This means that the whole thing is very, very strong. It surpasses the Ti/C, DU and Chobham-2 armor.
The armor amounts vary around the tank. The frontal armor is enough to stop all RL Kinetic Energy shells, and msot things up to an 120mm ETC cannon, which is quite much in this modern world. The side armor is designed to stop artillery and AT rockets, and is stronger around the gine and crew sections. It has stopped 110mm, but is mainly designed to counter IFV's, Javelin Systems and various artillery munitions.
The rear armor is just enough to stop most Infantary Shoulder Launched Anti-tank munitions, and the top armor can stop Helicopter fired unguided munitions and smaller charges.. Cluster bombs can easily be dealt with aswell. The floppy plastic things on the sides are made of Fiber Glass and Ceramics for bullet protection to the electronics, and help with the NBC systems using lead. The side skirts are made of the same material but thicker, for mine protection. It is also fitted standard with VUISTREL-2 NERA, which can take hit after hit and not break.
The crew are situated in various positions. The driver sits in the front of the tank, in front of the protective shield that blocks the front end of the tank from the turret. The commander and Gunner sit under the turret, and the autolader takes up quite a lot of space under the cannon. It is all very secure, and there are blast proof walls between each position. There is easy exit doors and maintenance hatches throughout, and most areas can be accesed without removing the turret.
The tank ahs been stripped of all undeed weight and lightened considerably, by over 5 tons. This is dramatic, and may not seem much but in conjunction with the ngine can accelerate and speed the tank far more effectively.
Systems
This is where this tank is really special. The systems on this tnak are expensive, special, quick and very, very user friendly. Software companies around the world were contacted to create and update these systems, and we pulled many ropes to get these programs. Most are updated versions of our old systems, with a few new ones aswell.
First off, there is the Joint Tactical Infomation Distrubtion System. It allows tanks to talk to other tanks, records and sends data and manages the tanks communications systems. It is high speed and is managed by the SuperComputer just in front of the engine. It looks after inter-tank and inside tank information, and can communicate with any JTIDS equipped vehilce/unit on the planet. It either uses Sattelite Communication or laser Communication.
The little antinnae on the tanks roof does a lot. It transmits all satellite, radio and laser communications to communicate in any way. It is directly linked to the SuperComputer and can transmit to any covered area on the globe. This may seem minor, but is central in communication.
The 360 degree camra systems are mounted on the roof and are intergrated with the Thermal and Night Vision Imaging systems. There are 2, for the Gunner and Commander. Screens at each position show the tanks status and various other things which are monitored by sensors and the SuperComputer.
The targetting system is enabled by both the gunner and commander. It conveys messages to the Autoloader, co-axial gun and turret mounted gun. The aiming sytem incorporates wind, temperature and target positioning and caters for it in adjusting the gun. The gunne can even target manually. It can be set to aim at Heat giving objects or targets given to it by the JTIDS. It also manages the targetting of the Anti Missile Laser, depending on which mode it is set to. This means quick and effective anti missile targeting.
The tank economy system monitors the engine and tread movement and modifies it depending on where the gunner wants the tank to go. It also varies the water exhaust flow, and manages the movement controls. A full NBC system is installed with filters in between the crew compartments and various exhaust systems.
The Jammer installed is a Multi-Frequency Electronic Jammer, nicknamed ARENA-7. It can jam electronics up to 600 metres away guranteed and less so for hardened systems. A jammer to jam jammers (confusing I know) called Dragon is also installed.
The supercmputer itself is ultra fast and can hold, give and pass onn info in nano seconds. It is liquid cooled, amazingly by the liquid produced by the engine. It maintains everything in the tank, and is vital.
Weaponary
A large cannon was needed for the tank, and the boys who made the M-22 tank destroyer were kind to oblige. The 120mm Electro Thermal is lethal. It can be fired while moving. In the X version, the gun has been made into the most powerful of it's class, whcih can stop anything in Real Life and everything short of an Ultra Heavy Battle tank on NS.
The secondary weapon is the co-axially mounted 12.7mm Machine Gun, which reaches 550 rounds per minute, and is placed on the right of the 120mm gun. On top of the turret is a 12.7mm NSVK which can fire 650 rounds a minute for anti infantary use.
Various ATGM's can be fitted on the tank. 4 Kornet-G ATGM's can be fitted in the visible front launchers, ATGM's can be fired from the main gun and there are 3 internal launchers on each side of the turret, under hatches. These can easily take out any APC and most IFV's.
The laser anti missile system is also installed. It can take out ATGM's, RPG's and even Tank Shells. It is operated by the onboard computer, linked with JTIDS, and is very, very accurate. So far we have had a 95% accuracy record. It is crucial in defendng the tank, and makes it basically unkillable from anything but another tank.
There are, as you can see, 6 Smoke Grenade dispensers on each side and 4 not visible on the rear. 12 Are loaded with smoke grenades, 2 with Flares and 2 with Chaff. Also fitted, 2 SAM missiles can be loaded on each side of the turret, controleld by the fire control system.
Anyway, we very much hope you like our tank and once more....stats:

DIGITAL FIRE CONTROL AND OBSERVATION SYSTEMS
The digital fire control system allows the gunner or commander to select six different targets to be engaged in just over 30 seconds. The system's digital computer allows realtime treatment of data from the tank's sensors and sights.
The commander has eight periscopes and an IrL-66 stabilised panoramic sight from Finigan (formerly Firelite). IrL-66 includes laser rangefinder, day channel, and Comajedra generation image intensifier. Recognition range is 8km and identification range is 5.5km. The commander has a display showing the gunner's thermal sight.
The gunner's station is equipped with gunner's main sight, three periscopes and a visual display unit. The gunner's stabilised sight is Dragon-10 from Finigan, which contains a three-field-of-view thermal imager.
The driver's station has three periscopes, of which the center periscope is the CB-66 driver's sight developed by Shannon Optronic , which has day and night channels.
Bowman tactical, digital communications system. Bowman provides secure voice and data communications and automatic location of units.
Belly plate escape hatch, electric and manual release(isolated explosive bolts).
Emergency internal atmosphere purge fans, can circulate all in air internal compartment in fifteen seconds.
Multiple fire extiguisher systems.
'Babybottom' powedered chemical fire supression system.

OOC:
Careful with the word 'inferior'--
Yes you may not achieve the same muzzle velocity, but that doenst mean the weapon will not kill.
This is a tank competition, not a gun competition.

(Ofcourse. But it's weight and engine won't make it easier anyways; It is really thirsty, and weighs 90 tons...
Anyways, Maybe I'm just trying to act really happy when I end up higher than I expected...)
well im looking pretty happy about my first round

Well 150mm cannon is an azz whooper--since Mac is in control of the Tanks no wanking surviving rounds will take place.
You do have a thirsty engine and i would say your range is a little high considering--the horses you pull, however tank to tank, no big deal.
Your speed is outstanding for 90ton and if i remember my calculations from a tank I did not too long ago the speed is realistic--so thats good, your speed is comparable to my tank and you have 20 tons on me.
The armor...just go all Chobham, no point in the under layer of Cermet of you are going to use Chobham, too late for the simulation but for future refference-it wold increase your protection.
Just did the figuring and basically you need about 1820hp to pull you maximum speed--you tank ungoverned would be a fecking raider, penetrate lines and spear head like nobodies business.
I am uncertain about your profile as there are no specifications for that--but if the ground pressure is set up right you have one agile 150mm cannon.

In this competition what's going to be important with gunnery is the speed of turret traverse, but I'll leave it at that. I still have to copy all the tank stats to Word before I start roleplaying.
Skibereen
12-05-2006, 17:28
Did anyone provide you with traverse speeds?
Or are you going to figure that yourself?
The Macabees

I'm just going to compare on gun size. I assume electrical or hydraulic traverse.

The Phoenix Milita wishes to withdraw its T-1 Scorpion from the competition as we do not feel it will get a fair chance.

OOC: Figures once the brackets are set and it will disrupt everything.
Cowboy-up and be a man. Fair does not = Automatic Win for You.
IC:
The Nation of Skibereen protests this delay in the trials, ErininArms engineers are eager to see the performance and actual survivability versus the top of the line tanks globally and resents the possibilty that the expense to become involved in these trials is wasted.
We were not aware these trials were considered by some to be a 'competition', or that prizes were being offered beyond the chance to speed up trials our selves and use the global engineering community to quickly disect vehicle short comings.
In the event of a nation withdrawing their MBT, and or MBTs from the trials Skibereen has only one other indeginous model it can and does now offer to fill the spot.
It is at this point the recommendation is made that each nation be preparred to offer a secondary so that each bracket is insured to have a succesful trial.

OOC: It's because I tore apart his light tank design... he was going to lose the competition. Having huge missile launchers on the outside of your turret does that sometimes... you know, it's not good to have huge explosives outside your tank. In any case, the delays are because I'm too lazy to begin roleplaying. If all goes well it should start tomorrow with one or two roleplays. The only prize will be that the winner gets to have their tank showcased in one of the insight sections of either June's military tribune issue or the next one...but I might just do most of them anyways.

RE: Tank competition volunteership
To Whom It May Be Concerned,
The Southeast Asian Armed Forces are eager to test out our domestically-refitted version of the Sarzonian-designed-and-manufactured version of the Z-34 "Bonham" Main Battle Tank in the spirit of competition and strengthen ties with the Macabee Imperium.
We wish for the domestic refits to be returned after the competition is over, and our own repair crews shall be sent and so shall our own tank crews in order to save costs. The attachment of the domestic refit is in the attachment at the end of this letter.
Good luck, and may the best man win!
Yours Truly,
The Ministry of Defense of the United Sovereign Nations of Southeast Asia

One of the points that might be at issue with Tigershark tank. We are using something called the Arkema process to make the carbon nanotubes. This is a French process, about 10 tons of carbon nanotubes can be produced per annum in a single factory. The first factory came on line in February of 2006. Real process.

Yes I really want to see who wins (although no way will i allow my tanks being sold to any foreigners (if mine actually win)).

It would be cheaper and faster if you made inorganic nanotubes.
