Government and Territories
Head of State: Doge Bonito Angelo
Government Style: Totalitarian Right-Winged State
Territories Under Italian Control: Corsica, Sardina, Tunisia, Libya
Occupied Territories: None
Dependant Territories: West Africa (Somalia & Eritrea), Slovenia
Government Structure:
The Head of State is elected once every eight years by The Senate, or a Congress counterpart. All those in The Senate are elected by state citizens. Territories are given their own Autocrats, but their power cannot exceed that of the Italian Doge.
The Head of State acts as a dictator, with only a 80% vote by The Senate can overrule any actions the Doge makes. The military, economic restrictions (which Italy practices a free market economy with limited social requirements), and political scene is all controlled by the Doge, with The Senate only watching over the Dogeand his actions. The people have no say in the election of their Doge with the exception of electing a Senate Member who promises to elect a candidate which they like.
Current Situation:
The government has a long-standing support with its people. Its authoritarian dictator, Doge Bonito Angelo, an outspoken Sicilian Representative to The Senate who has rumored to have been intertwined with the Sicilian Mafia in both America, Germany, and Italy, and has oftenly been known to reap extra amounts of cash for personal and national programs for just passing bills and laws, of which many exist for the most rediculous of reasons.
Civil unrest in Eritrea on its oppression and lack of economic aid has caused a request for independance in some of its coastal and other liberal areas; however, no armed forces have taken up arms. Libyan and Tunisian Territories lay in the Italian Autocracy, taking the wealth of a major European and Asian trade center that is willing to aid its dependacies. Libya and Tunisia forms a localized non-reconized political state called Libya-Tunisia, or by the locals South Italy.
The Island States, Corsica and Sardina, have been a seperate entity until resently when requests for a confederacy to be formed between the two states of the Autocracy and the Island States. This has been turned down for two years and has led to reforms in the Corsican Senate to ignore some federal laws passed that placed added means of minimum wages. A vote is expected to be held to see if the Corsican (most namely the "French Italians") people wish to break off and form their own state, seperate of the Italian Autocracy. As Canada faces problems with the french citizens in their own country, so does Italy.
In all Italy is isolationist at present, trying to construct and build a utopian paradise to some, somewhat like America in the colonial area, a promise land of wealth and joy. Although that is far from near, Doge Angelo has promised it, and all that follows afterwards is in his hands, both with the problems of the Communists, Greek Support, West African Rebels, and Corsican French seperatists.
West Africa, a governmentless Anarchic State that was once the union of Eritrea-Somalia is ruled along its coastlines by Italian Guardsmen, mostly those from the Libyan Guard. Martial Law is in effect and its sovergeinty has been taken back by the Autocracy. However, stability of the region is low and only coastal cities are still being saved and protected. Their government is only that of the Doge and the Italian Senate, being part of Italy temporarily and having no sovergein territory.

Relations and Events
As of 1953
January 1953 - Italian Senate mandate that Eritrea become part of West Africa (Somalia) as a territory of the stateless Somalian Government in hopes to give it some stability. Admediately civil war errupts across the entire Autocracy over night. Corsican Autocrat Dominico Sionde declares Corsica its independant nation, and with it comes West Africa acknowledging its sovergeinty, a treason. Corsica implodes as its citizens fight on the streets with fists and rifles that were illegally kept (due to Italy's No Domestic Firearm Policy). Sardina pledges support for Italy and the Sardinian Guard jumps across the waterway between the two islands and declares itself souly responcible for bringing Corsica back into the Autocracy. West Africa declares independance from Italy shortly after and signs a non-reconized pact with the Corsican Government to aid in defence by sharing knowledge and information about Italian movements.
February 1954 - West Africa's Government finally callapses (supported until now by the weak fragile Eritrean government), and the entire territory is unable to protect itself. Italy declares it Italian Occupied Territory within only weeks of civil war and the territory is left to implode, without Italian support, only occupation in key coastal cities of Eritrea. Corsica keeps Sardinian Guard off shores, and air raids begin against Corsica, while no naval ships are under Corsican or Sardinian control. An miniture air war errupts as Italian ships deploy from Sicily to aid in air defence and in starving the island to death, as not to harm its valuable infrastructure and investments.
