Interested in NationStates Design?
The Macabees

Do you consider yourself an active designer on NationStates? Do you like to discuss technology and do you consider yourself a technology buff? Or, do you simply want some pointers to start out, or even a sneak peek of future designs from your favourite storefronts? In that case, the NS Draftroom (http://s13.invisionfree.com/The_NS_Draftroom/index.php?act=idx) is the place for you! The growing community already has ~150 members and ~18,800 posts [30 March, 2006] and is growing by the hour! Topics range from new vehicles, aircraft, ships or even munitions, to raging arguments on strategy, as well as discussing new concepts and engineering. The NS Draftroom is completely out of character, simply offering itself as the nexus of NS technological discussion. It's guaranteed that your knowledge will expand. Eras range from modern technology to future technology, and given enough popular pressure to do so, perhaps even a past technology forum, or range of fora! The Draftroom is administrated by Sarzonia, the founder and formulator of the Draftroom, while it is moderated by Automagfreek, Space Union, New Empire, The Silver Sky and myself.
Link: http://s13.invisionfree.com/The_NS_Draftroom/index.php?act=idx
You must register to see the fora I believe, but trust me, it's worth the time and effort. You can reach us at any time on IRC, in the esper.net server and on #draftroom. You have to register with your unalterable NS name if you want to post on the Draftroom. In other words, the Holy Republic of Iwanablyku would sign up as Iwanablyku.

Yep you can do FT, too. We have a section devoted to it, in fact. All tech levels are invited, not just MT or FT. If you want to design the wheel for the first time, come on in and maybe someone can help you pimp your wheel by adding spikes or something like that. ;)

Actually in the beginning it makes you feel good because it releases dopamine which is a hormone that makes you feel good. The problem is that afterwords, the cells no longer have any dopamine and for the next week or two you will feel tired, depressed, and a whole other junk of emotions. But ecstasy does cause death when its used in a dance party where a person literally dances so much his/her body temperature increases until they die. That's why its found commonly in clubs.
The Macabees
09-04-2006, 17:53
Space Union, all drugs unbalance your homostasis and make you feel good... that's the point. The unfortunate side effect is that ecstacy also tends to kill your brain cells. It's found most commonly in drugs because that's just where most of the youth filled with drugs is found - it's the perfect market. The only thing I've done in clubs, though, is hashish, and a little - it generally goes away with activity.

12-04-2006, 19:40
According the wiki article written by Sarz, Draftroom was created because he did not like the way we ran Lineartinc. Therefore, if we had ran it differently or if it had never been created, there would have been no inspiration/need for a seperate board.
Also, you have a hundred more members then Lineartinc (exactly) and just over twice the posts. That and the fact very few NSers can relate to lineart, and draftroom is a much wider area of specialisation, Lineartinc has competed with Draftroom valiantly.
But failed, admittedly.

A tri-board of sort?
The Macabees
12-04-2006, 19:48
Well more accurately, just have the forums link to eachother - it would make more sense for Lineart and the Draftroom since the two should be mutually supportive of one another - but they could be nice and give one for W@W too. :)

For reference:
é - alt 130
á - alt 160
í - alt 161
ó - alt 162
ú - alt 163
ñ - alt 164
Ñ - alt 165

Shock Bokken?
One o' these:
PRA Shock Bokken
Length: 104 cm
Blade Length: 72 cm
Output: 900 kV, with a twist selector from .001 to 1.0 amperes.
Mass: 1520 grams
Cost: 250 USD
Pale Rider Arms has long recognized that nonlethal methods are often required in law enforcement circles, which its Red Samurai operate in. The Kusanagi Daisho wielded by these warriors are well suited for the field of battle, but when one must fight those he has sworn to protect, the Daisho is completely unsuitable. Thus, the Shock Bokken was commissioned.
The Shock Bokken outwardly appears to follow the standard construction for a Bokken, sheathed in hardwood from Japanese White Oaks. The wood is studded with small metal protrusions, which carry a current in a method similar to a taser. The core is steel, with the mechanisms required to power the Bokken, as well as batteries, located herein. When a target is struck by at least two of the protrusions, a circuit is completed, sending 900 kV running through the body of the target. This is usually enough to disable the target for the duration of combat. The shock can be dialed between .001 amps and 1.0 amps, allowing for a mild jolt to warn a bystander to a lethal shock, able to stop a large man's heart in a single tap.

That's ok, it happens. ;)
Although really... I wonder sometimes how it's possible for one to be confused between the forum (legitimate (sp?) designing and such) and the IRC channel (USN vs. RN; Blub complaining about $RANDOM_N00B; Space and Mei participating in kicking wars; Willink's nuclear wessels and so on). But that might be just me.

No, I got confused on which one you were referring to. The quote of my post was a few days ago. :) I didn't remember the context.

Hey, we do legitimate designing on #draftroom.
Actually wait, no, we don't. We just bitch about certain players and have metal manlyhood contests. Heh.
edit: 'Location: Behind Mei' Uhm?

Exactly. Well, every now and then some newbie (or not so newbie) comes on, posts a link to a design, and gets ridiculed for its insanity and compared to such eminent designers as --DELETED/FLAMING--. Catalan, and very occasionally Space or Doc, is the only one who really looks at designs with a degree of seriousness afaik.
Well, hey, we all need daily pissing contests, no? ;)

Yea, I know who Mei (fellow op) is, but I was wondering who you are, since I don't recognise you from the channel itself and I don't believe he uses that alias outside of IRC (on NS anyway)? :P

That's why we have things called profiles. You know, click on the name (or on my name under a thread I've created, or similar).

You shameless fucks. :p
I was just wondering if you used Campaign Cartographer 3 to make your map?
I figure I've been on NationStates for, what is it now, two years? I guess it's time I try out this new-fangled forum. So, I submitted an application. Just a heads-up.

It's been a day and still no confirmation.
