Purchase of Titanium
The Norlands

Addressing all able to fill our requirements,
The Navy of The Holy Democracy of The Norlands requests and requires ridiculous quantities of Titanium, namely 3,600,000,000 Cubic Meters of the material. We are using this in construction of harbours and shipyards. Our land contains not nearly this much titanium, so we wish to purchase it from any nation that has it, at a ridiculously high price, to be named once trade negotiations start.

West Corinthia may be interested in a deal. While we are in no way capable of filling your entire order, we could help supply you with some of what you require. Most of our own Titanium goes into building tanks.

We inquire as to how much you could supply us with.
Miraclia

Miraclia offers to supply, per year, approximately 45000 (metric) tonnes, roughly equivalent to 1,000,000 cubic meters, for a mere US$ 225,000,000.
[BTW:
3,600,000,000 cubic meters = 3.6x10^15 cm3
Titanuim density: 4.50 g/cm3
3.6x10^15 cm3 x 4.5 g = 1.62x10^13 kilograms
1.62x10^13 kilograms = 16,200,000,000 metric tons]
The consul finds the request for 16,200,000,000 metric tons of titanium both unreasonable, unfesable, and disturbing:
1) Why would a nation want that much titanium?
2) There is not enough titanium to fill such an order. Regardless, it would be impossible to pay, no matter how huge your economy is.
3) What would a nation do with that much titanium?
If such a nation has placed such a request with complete sincerity, we formally shun them until they remove their request.

We were hoping to get trade deals from FT nations who had traveled to other planets, where such quantities of titanium exist, and could thus transport it and sell it to us.

OOC - And how does an MT nation negotiate with FT nations? What's in it for an FT nation to go to the expense of gathering all that titanium for you, when said nation can easily make money off of ordinary trade routes?
