OOC: This thread is for the war between myself and MattCexwish. Once he reaches an oppurtunity to post here the war shall begin. Each side may call in allies, as long as they do not call in so many allies as to flood the thread and make the story impossible to follow. As a result exactly 2 allies per side will be allowed. For a total of 6 nations involved. Each side will be allowed to call in allies if they feel the need to do so. Chemical, Biological, and Nuclear Weapons will be restricted to minimal use, meaning only if absolutely necessary. Other weapons are fair game if you have them. No given side may use above restricted WMDs without first clearing the attack with their opponent so that neither side is angered to the point of leaving the thread, however weapons not falling into the NBC WMD category are still allowed. God-Modding is completely forbidden. If caught God-Modding a warning will be issued and the attack will be ignored. If the warned party continues to God-Mod, they will be subject to being ignored by the opposing party, thus ending the war. Peace Talks may be initiated at any time, however any deception during a peace-talk, which is also a temporary cease-fire will result in the immediate closure of the talks and a return to arms for both sides with no decisions having been made or implemented. Other than the above stated rules, pretty much anything goes.

The Shenyangi High Council had convened upon news of a declaration of war upon them by a foreign nation by the name of MattCexwish. They reached their war-room and began reviewing all possible reports that could lead to a reason as to why this nation had declared war, and what their capabilities may be if they attacked. All intelligence indicated that this was either a holy war, or a crusade against democracy. This was enough to put the Council on notice as enemies in holy wars rarely would ever back down and their soldiers would often fight to the last man. They knew this from experience in combatting the Al-Hurza terror network cells within Shenyang. The military was put on alert to repel any attack. Despite the fact that military planners only expected their adversary to have a 250,000 man military compared with the 113,460,000 man military of Shenyang, no one was taking any chances about national security.
Murdock: I suggest we ready the SSOCOM to send its forces into this nation, to end this threat before it even starts, and put ISAF and SNN on full alert. The CSN and the SMC should also be put on high alert, poised to repel any attacks. We cannot afford to be caught off guard by an enemy in a holy war. As we know they will fight ferociously and as a result we must preserve the safety of our citizens at all costs. One last note, we should ready ODIUS and VOLGR for retaliatory strikes should it become necessary to go to that unfortunate extreme.
Gen. Hammond: Agreed Chairman. The military will be ready within the next 2 days and we will be at full defensive strength in the next 4 hours.
Locke: Sir, I suggest that we ready a covert operations team to be deployed into their nation should the need arise.
Anita Grimsdottir: SCI will continue to monitor all available intelligence sources on this aggressor. We can have DarkStar spy sats making passes over this nation every hour within the next 2 hours sir.
Hammond: I also suggest we send up the SR-71s that way every possible recon source is available to SCI, creating a complete picture of this war.
Murdock: Make it so my friends make it so. We would be best advised to check all passengers on inbound and outbound flights into and over Shenyang as well. To ensure that no terrorists or soldiers decide to commit an attrocity wasting innocent lives in the process. Markus, if you would be so kind as to have those measures enforced immediately I would greatly appreciate it.
At Valais Air Base deep in the Central Dematis Range several SR-71C Blackbirds fueled up and prepared for take-off into the cold night air. Their destination was this enigmatic aggressor. They would collect as much information as they could and then be relieved by one of thier bretheren to continue the monitoring, of course no aircraft would enter the enemy's airspace. No sense testing the enemy's defense capabilities if it could be avoided.
Aircraft within Shenyang took to the skies and began flying defensive patterns around the nation, ensuring that nothing could threaten the mother-land.
Other recon assets were scrambled as well to aid the Blackbirds. Among them were U-2R Dragon Ladies EC-130H Rivet Riders and Global Hawk Recon UAVs. However the jewels in this collection were the SNS Andrew Jackson and the SNS Daniel Jackson, its sister ship. The most advanced information warfare platforms ever created. Completely invisible to all but the most sensitive of sensors and capable of taking in or putting out truely massive amounts of information and interpretting it with shocking speed and accuracy. The computing equipment aboard these two ships easilly put the equipment of many nations' intelligence services to shame. If a code needed to be broken, a signal intercepted, an network hacked, then these craft could do it, at half capabilities. They left their secured bases and began the long trek to the border of the enemy's national waters. From there they would be perfectly positioned to keep everything watch over the enemy with complete diplomatic immunity should they be threatened.
Shenyang was ready for any attack, now they needed only to wait for their adversary to make the next move.
Intelligence streamed into Section 31 and its sister facilities throughout Shenyang. No detail was overlooked, from cell phone traffic, to military chatter, to internet postings, e-mails, and force movements.
