[ I've decided to start a modern tech nation, so here it is. It's something like The Vatican, a single city of 2.5 million people and literally hundreds of millions of monks and missionaries spread across the world. It has one goal in the world: spread the Word. I'm left with a little problem though. The Holy City is (like the Vatican) in the middle of another country. If anyone wants to be that country, I'd be grateful :D]

January 1st, 2006, The City of Light

From his office on the top floor of the Holy Ministry of Foreign Affairs Father Charon could see the warrior-monks of the City on parade, their white hooded habits a stark contrast to the Kalashnikovs they brandished, filing past a Brother-General who was blessing them as they marched in the warm courtyard, which was bordered with trees draped in a honeysuckle variant that filled the yard with a sweet scent. This mingled with incense, carried by crimson-robed novices of the Militant Order.

Charon missed his days in the Order, but knew he had been chosen for his job at the Ministry by the Conclave for a reason. The Patriarchs obviously saw great potential in him. He desperately hoped they had clear vision. He sucked the end of his pen, then put it to paper.

His Holiness High Patriarch Delvyn Saer wishes to state the intention of the Holy Order of the Tribunal to make it's voice heard on the international stage. As his first act in the eyes of the world, he invites any leader or representative who wishes it to stand before the Patriarchs, and speak of friendly relations, and the possible exchange of Monasteries of Diplomacy.

He read the message he had just written quickly, scanning for anything the other Patriarchs could object to. He saw nothing. Taking in a breath of the scented air, he placed the paper into his 'out' tray.

It begins.

The Pythogrian capital was bursting with life. Markets active, police patrolling, bullet trains streaking, it was all there. In the Imperial Palace, Khonsu Izakabad, the Pythogrian Supreme General, found the message for alliance requests from The Gate Builders. He decided to respond.

Pythogria notes your application for an alliance with whoever will listen. We're listening. we would like to set up a hydrogen pipleine for trade, in return for as much wheat as you are willing to give. We also wish to establish an alliance with your great sovriegn state.

We would wish to recieve 30,000 tons a month, as we have very little farming.

OOC: If that's unreasonable, 15,000 tons. If that's unreasonable, 5,000.

Such an amount is not unreasonable, and shall be deducted from the tithes the Church recieves. We shall load the required amount on to transport planes as soon as possible.

Official Statement of President John Holtz of Holy Paradise:
"Being that I, along with 98% of Holy Paradise's population, am Roman Catholic, and that you are a major holy city, apparently only outranked (for lack of a better word) by the Vatican in importance in Roman Catholicism, we wish to establish an embassy in your beautiful city-state, along with trade routes, and a defensive pact in case someone tries to attack you. You would not need to help us in war, we only need to protect you."

He shall be granted full diplomatic status, thought we must caution against attempts at unsoliciated prothesizing.

We thank you for the grain. Our pipeline will be finished soon, and hydrogen will begin to flow soon after that.

We will inform our representative to refrain from proselytising. He shall speak not a word of the Tribunes.
