Hello, this is just a sign up thread for people who want to get in a war with random people, if you have any ideas to improve this just post here. If you want to sign up just post your country here, some info about it, your army size, and your main fighting unit.

This is my country.
The Holy Empire of Taralkea is a very large, devout nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate, hard-working, cynical population of 97 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Social Welfare and Defence are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 60%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Automobile Manufacturing.

Cheese has become the new icon of political dissent, a survey of the nation's rivers and children has shown that pesticide levels are at an all-time regional high, motorists must pay to enter inner-cities during peak hours, and minority children spend hours bussing to schools miles away from home. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Taralkea's national animal is the Dragon, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Dragoln.
My army has 9 million soilders, and I have mostly beserkers.

your army should only be 5% of your toltal population.

at the most it should be around 4.85 million. that's exactly 5% of your nations population. but then again you also have to find out your military budget and calculate what your nation can aford to spend on an army.

The 5% means peacetime though. About 10% of your population, perhaps a bit more if you use women too, are capable of serving in the front. I use Soviet Union of WW2 as an example. They used approx. 17% of their population was used... however the economy was in great troubles and would have propably collapsed without strong Allied support.

I think my military is 29 million. Specializes in special forces, guerrilla warfare, and the usual stuff.

again i said my nation has a combined army. check the name Dailey in the nations of NS and you will see that my math equals a toltal of 5% of my nations. of corse you could be talking to someone else so i'll shut up now.

For territories, I'll take Turkey, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, Greece, Macedonia, and Albania.

hmmmm....well i would end up with no territories then because my nation is 2 real world nations who share a border.

[OOC: Hiya guys, I was browsing the forums and saw this. I caught the argument/debate about the percent of the population that is military. Two things to help you guys with.

One: Not all soldiers are fighting men, some are logistics meaning they are the men who keep the soldiers fed and armed.

Two: 5% is still alot for a nation of your size. Remember that every fighting man you have, your missing a schoolteacher, factory worker, etc....
I have a standing army of 1 1/2%, (then again I am a nation of almost 2 Billion).

If you take these things into account you may want to relook your military sizes. I hope I helped in some way. For a good way to keep track of your military forces you should have it written in a post or a typing program. I have a link to my organization thread in my sig, so you can look at that if you wish to get a general idea on what I mean.

But remember what I said about logistics. Without them your tanks aren't fueled and your men are hungry. Eventually your army would break down and just cease to function.

When should I start the main thread?

OCC: I don't think everything, down to logistics is neede. We should probably keep this a bit more simple. Should there be allies, or a free for all?

My point is, everyman in your army isnt capable of fighting because you need men to feed, arm, fuel, and anything else important. Without these men your army breaks down.

Then, you should make a list of nations fighting and we can decide who will be allied with who.

OOC:dude get off our backs it's a simple RP not a major war. plus i remember when all you had to worry about is dose the nation have the financial means to pay for the army. in the payment there would be all the bugets and food stuff. argh is all i got to say to you dude.

Daileyian forces have taken Iceland, blockaded Britian, and the homeland has been attacked by Kulikovo's army.

Taralkea has invaded both Canada and Mexico and now Cantral basicly all of north america.

Kulikovo: so far has only pressed an attack on the Daileyian Empire.

Daileyian Empire has: Denmark, and Germany as it's motherland and contral Iceland now.

you will have to read back on this toppic here to find out the teritories and mother lands of the other nations.

Requested Geographic location (in this RP): Puapa New Guinea. If you don't mind.

Military:
Active (titled 'Marines'): 2 Million
Resserve ('Army'): 6 million

Police: (includes spy networks and black ops units): 4 Million

Militia: (rest of population; not issued guns though, even though they are trained to use one)

Evertything is subordinate to the Marines, except for Police and CDF (Militia), who take orders from police, both groups take orders to the Minister of Defense whom in turn answers to the Prime Minister.

Also note, that Marines only consist of two full fledged combat divisions, the other 248 are logistics (horse based). The Army is used to bolster the two Divisions during war. The CDF is only to be used to repel invaders. The Police atre, well, CIA, FBI, Gestopo, MP, style police. No sense of humur, military(ish) uniforms and equipment, and always behind closed doors, they could start and end a war and nobody would even notice their involvement. Officially they don't do this.

PROHT heavily relies and uses CBW to inflict mass casualtiesupon their enemies and to cause mass problems during a conflict, also developed Biological/chemical, 'physical enhancements' (drugging them up so they don't feel pain, stim packs. etc)

on yeah in the war. i sudjest trying to drag out your invation into segments where you discribe what is happening during your invation of said nations.

Rushia for one will take a lot of manpower and probably drag your people into a verry prolonged invation. the Rushian people are known for there heavy resistance and there Strong Patriotic duty to defend there motherland.

even a Barbarian Nation can put up a long fight. it took the Roman Empire 36 years to fully secure Gaul(Modernday France)
