OOC: I have changed the Government name to the Grand Star Empire of Deatharon for FT purposes. This thread is to replace the one. I did early that never left the ground….

IC:

The Emperor Akarth Von Antheron II looked upon the holoscreen that had just appeared in front of him. The Imperial Galactic Navy and its various fleets were visible with the various profiles of the different Lord Admirals and other senior officers that kept his Imperial highness Navy running.

The Emperor read through the report and then receives word from the Lord of Internal Affairs Baron Arthur Zimmerman of the terrible condition that the Imperial Citizens were in on the many vassal worlds that made up the Empire.

The Emperor Akarth Von Antheron II sighed and looked at the scenic walls that depicted the Grand Star Empire in it's glory days when the Space Navies of Neo Zeta and Deatharon use to clash for territory across thousands of systems. The thought of expansion was now almost always on the Emperor's mind. The Empire's resources were vastly depleted and the various galactic holdings were now reduced to a mere galaxy. The mother galaxy of the Antaries, which was several, thousand light years away from the Milky Way.

The Empire had gone into a rapid stage of isolation to avoid the bloody wars that had given the Empire so much but not enough to keep all the territory together as several galaxies had demanded independence that was eventually granted after several years of occupation and guerilla warfare.

The Emperor Akarth snapped out of his backlogged thinking and said, "I have a plan to fix our resource problem and bring pride back to the people."

The Lord of Internal Affairs Baron Arthur Zimmerman replied, "And what might that be my lord?"

The Emperor Akarth Von Antheron II responded, "We have to send out colonization fleets to other galaxies and begin expansion with the Imperial Galactic Navy. The time of Isolationism and peace are over. Let's bring back the glory days of Blood and Iron!"

The Lord of Foreign Affairs smiled and replied, "My Lord, You must be joking. We have been at peace for far to long. The Grand Imperial Legions have not even seen combat in several years! The Imperial Galactic Navy has been patrolling the Galaxy from pirates and occasional alien colonization/invasion fleets. We have not left the Galaxy in twenty years!"

The Emperor Akarth Von Antheron replied, "I hence forth command that the Imperial Council be called up. I want all the Archdukes present when. I declare our Isolationist policy over and a new foreign policy of rapid militarism."

The Lord of Foreign Affairs bowed and ran to the control panel. He then started pressing a few buttons in a sequenced code and started speaking in Deatharonian to access the security clearances needed to access the system.

The Archdukes appeared all of them in holo-image form in front of the Emperor and the Lord of Internal Affairs. These mighty lords of entire Galactic sectors had received the Emperor's call and they heeded it without question. The Imperial Council was together.

The Emperor addressed them formally, "My fellow lords. The Time has come to meet again to deal with certain problems within the Empire!"

The Archdukes looked at one another then they looked at the Emperor. The bravest of them said, "My Lord, What problems plague the Grand Star Empire of Deatharon? Are we under Attack? Is the Empire suffering from dissidents?"

The Emperor Akarth replied, "The People are fine. The problem is, We are now an Empire in the decline. We use to be the masters of entire galaxies yet we have grown soft and lazy with power! The people are starving in some of our worlds. We have depleted resources. The Imperial Military just guards are borders but does not add to them."

The Archdukes all had looked surprised that the moderate and almost un-ambitious Emperor they had known for years had a militarist side to him. The same Archduke said, "My lord, We do not want to rouse the military at this time. We went into isolation to avoid large-scale conflict because of our internal problems. We can not afford to face a total war across several galaxies like the old days."

The Emperor Akarth replied, "Your words are those of a coward. I am your Emperor I say war will solve the resource problem. Who can stand against the might of the Empire? No one can!"

The Archdukes bowed and realized the decision had already been made for them. The Emperor was going to override anything they said and push for a war of expansion any way. This was typically of most Deatharonian Emperor's but Akarth Von Antheron II had not shown much ambition in the past. Now at the age of 35 however he was pushing for an aggressive war. It seemed very out of character for him. It seemed like the old Emperor Akarth the first had been reborn and came to forge another Imperial crusade.

Three Days Later at the Galactic Imperial Border…..

The Imperial Galactic Navy had received the Imperial Council's decision and had begun to prepare to send scouting probes to scan the various systems outside of Imperial territory for easy places of conquest and colonization.

The probes left the 1st Imperial Fleet that was stationed at the border. There were thousands of them and they headed out to the void of space sending information back across all the various systems they encountered.

"Unknown inbound. Transmitting: Unknown craft, you are in New Realm territory. Repeat, turn back, or we will destroy you. Repeat, turn back or be destroyed". There. He had fulfilled the proprieties. Jaui Makan pressed a sensitive touchpad, and a blast was thrown out.

A small object, which he had identified as a probe, exploded in a blinding flash of white light. He smiled, and transmitted a message to the frigate he was flying off. "Mothership, this is Gunship 002, I've destroyed the unknown. Out".

The frigate silently opened the single bay door it had, and the gunship slipped neatly inside. No doubt the probe had been sent for colonisation purposes, however, this world was taken. Any enemy attempting to invade would be met with lethal force.

The figure sat hunched over the terminal, his hands, and tentacles, working the holographic controls of the station, which, in turn, practically controlled the entire vessel by itself. He slid a finger over to a small picture of an antiquated satellite dish, the image flickering for a moment before turning from its dark and dull red to a vivid green. From above, a spindly mechanical arm slowly lowered itself out from the ceiling, stopping about four feet above the computer as two, thin bar folded out of the machine, giving it the appearance of an “X” when seen from below. From there, the bars themselves had a section which folded out and slid down, the X now turning into an open box as lights suddenly shot out from the sides of the bars facing inwards. Contained with the open cube which hung from the ceiling of the room, a three-dimensional sonar-like image was shown; a spherical, purple face with a giant and disturbing, yet friendly grin sat in the exact center, while a small, blinking dot was shown below and to the right.

Muttering, the creature at the controls moved a tentacle to press down on the image of a microphone that was situated on the "keyboard," and entered a short string of code in the window that popped up.

The image of a happy, purple face caught inside a gear filled the screen, the words "Gadget Corporation" sitting under it in thick, black letters. A friendly little company jingle played for a moment, before a peppy, optimistic, yet undoubtedly computerized voice began speaking.

Hey, unidentified vessel! You have entered a system chartered to be reconstructed in the name of Gadget Corporation, yeah! If you don't state your business soon, you risk being obliterated to the highest level! Thank you!

As the message ended, the company logo still stayed up, along with something new: a timer, which began counting down from ten minutes.
