Spreading the Light (FT Intro)
Orthae Velve

The Grand Divine was the spiritual and political leader of Orthae Velve, and was about to make a speech to the entire nation. This would be no ordinary address, however. He came out the main doors to the Balcony of the Sky, overlooking the crowd that had gathered below. He breathed deep for a moment, as though beginning meditation. In truth, he was trying to mask his nervousness about a very dangerous political decision.
“People of Orthae Velve, the time has come for us to change things for the better. For too long, the galaxies have been without the guidance of our Virtues. All of these Virtues have guided me to this decision.” He had them waiting, and he had implied he would be breaching. That would prevent applause from interrupting his tempo, something he could not afford while improvising.
“If Order is to be maintained, it must face down the chaos. If Truth is to be preserved, it must be shared with the universe. If Purity is to be ensured, it must be recognized by all. If Hope is to shine in the hearts of all, then all must be introduced to hope. Thus, the order has been given for the word to spread.” He let a slight smile break across his face. It was enough to evoke applause at an admittedly daring plan. Of course, they had not yet heard the specifics.
“Volunteers have been selected in the tens of thousands to establish temples of Orthae Velve in foreign powers where they have been allowed. We do not yet have the strength to spread our beliefs through war, but until that day comes it will be enough to spread our beliefs through word. We are the Velven. We are good when all others are wicked. We are united in a universe of chaos. We spread the light through the black of night.”
Ten thousand voices spoke in reply, practiced and as one. “We spread the light through the black of night.”

The Velve were not the only ones ready to expand and spread their beliefs to the galaxy, but unlike the Velve, the Republic had enough power to do so through military means if necessary, and thus was the mission of the Primigenia Legion vessel Triumph, a Victory class frigate-to spread the influence and order of the Republic to the universe, even unknown and uncharted areas of space that may or may not contain life.
In a magnificent flash of light, the vessel appeared in the sector, and immeadiatly scans picked up life forms, and technology. It was evident that there was some kind of civilization inhabiting the nearby planet, and running a quick review of the databank, they were an unknown people to the universe. Just the opportunity needed to spread Republican influence.
It took only an hour before the Triumph pierced the atmosphere of the small planet, and entered into the cover of the clouded sky. Moving slowly downwards, they entered the blue sky, and the city was reveiled to them. It was rather easy to see that they had a hierarchal society, as there was a meeting being held, with all attention on one man perched atop a platform high up. The frigate moved slowly over the structure, and stopped, remaining suspended above the city and the bewildered populus.

The Grand Divine looked up at the vessel, then down upon his uncertain people. He gestured for calm, and they quickly complied. He turned to look upon the Divines behind him, and nodded upward. "Determine the intentions of these visitors. One Oracle, one Arbiter, one Judicator."
Three of the Divines gathered behind him, all in different uniforms, bowed out to take their leave from the balcony. The Grand Divine turned back to the crowd, which awaited his guidance. "I have sent agents of the light to determine the will of those who have come over the capitol world so boldly. Already, they have taken flight to dock with the vessel."
Indeed, a shuttle was en route to the ship, hailing them requesting to dock for diplomatic contact. It was connected almost directly to the balcony, in order to make such on demand exits to maintain an image of certainity and competance.
The Oracle on board was in standard military garb of white, red, and black. His training was toward a variety of roles, all geared in the general field of negociation. They were rumored to be psionic, but the rumors never got beyond that.
The Arbiter was in a black robe with a red sash, signifying his status as a recognized psionic. He specialized in altering the emotional state of those around him, usually to turn the tide during a battle. However, his abilities were also useful at the negociating table.
The Judicator's attire was nearly identical to that of the Arbiter, save hers was white rather than black. Her powers were geared toward finding information stowed behind willful minds and great distances. In this case, the former would most likely apply.
The Oracle hailed the vessel, announcing their intent. "We represent the Holy Empire of Orthae Velve. We are requesting permission to board to meet with your commanding officer so that you may explain your unauthorized presence in our system, and more importantly the airspace of the capitol building."

The Velve home system was not far from Dominion scout forces, which were being sent across the entire sector to search for possible colonization effort worlds and systems. The Judicator, a Legacy-class battleship, and its four-ship escort hypered in-system with a burst of white light, pulling into sub-space. A squadron of Retribution interceptors was dispatched to search the system for sentient life-forms, which were picked up on Orthae Velve. Upon transmission of orders, the fleet advanced, and the squadron of fighters boosted on for a closer inspection of the green planet.

The R.S.S. Nebulon (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10627049&postcount=6) was out on it's shakedown cruise. Newly made for the future of the Huntarian Alliance, [Malkir] Councilor Corran (http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a172/Huntaer/Huntaer/Malkir%20and%20Kirtir/MalkirCouncilor7.jpg) paced upon the Nebulon's bridge.
"Councilor, we've got some commotion."
"Where from lieutenant?" Corran walked over to the communication's station where a young lieutenant stood slightly confused.
"A nearby planet. It looks like they've just began as a futureistic empire or republic. I can't tell."
Corran reached out with the force, and tried to detect any sort of dark presence. He detected no threatening activity with the new people. So, "let's send out a welcoming signal. I sence nothing wrong with these people. Besides, they can't be nearly as evil as the Sith Lords, Chaos Lords, or the Kirtir Lords."
"Hmm.... I suppose you're right Councilor. Message sent."
Greetings from the Huntarian Alliance. We are a Republic with peaceful intentions. We would like to offer you any assistance you would need in your new introduction to space. We need to warn you though, security is a little tight right now since we are in a state of war against the Huntarian Empire. Don't be surprised if my superiors question your motives.
Signed,
Councilor Corran, representative of the Malkir Council of Twenty

A transmission was returned and the dorrs of the closest hanger opened, revealing the rather large room full of small craft and scurrying men. A particular group had formed where the shuttle was expected to land-five Shocktroopers and three officers in standard officers uniforms. Blue suits, white shirts and blue ties. The officers awaited the arrival of the so called "diplomatic party", and began going over different scenarios in their heads.
