From the shores of Latvia to the inland borders, New Genetican became a nation. Scores of people gathered from the various parts of the country, determined to create a society that would best benefit themselves.
The meeting had been called for by some wealthy men, who believed the time had come to create a nation from a group of rich farmers and their workers.
Thus, New Genetican ascended.
The area had been divided into five regions, each sending a hundred delegates to the meeting.
It went well.
Within 2 weeks, New Genetican had been founded, a democratic society bent on defending itself form invaders was established, and a government was formed.
Instantly, urban life became natural. People gathered in the city rather than the country. A modern nation erupted from a farming society.
The capital was donned "Schicksal" meaning in German (the common Genetican language), "Destiny." It was located in the center of the country. [It basically is where modern day Riga is]

The government consists of 16 parliament members one of which is the president. The president is elected by his fellow parliament members, who are in turn elected the people. Each of the five regions is allowed to elect three members and one national member, The three with the most votes enter the parliament. The national member with the most votes throughout the country is elected.
Typically, the national parliament member is elected President.
The President carries out all of the affairs of state, while the parliament makes decisions on laws. The President's cabinet are key advisors to him... as are the members of the parliaments and their staff.

With overwhelming support, James Marsuvees Walsh was the national parliament member, and was soon thereafter appointed President.

"Today Mr. James M. Walsh was elected President of our young nation. As the first ever President, we look forward to seeing what he will do with New Genetican.
Wait, here he comes now. We're now cutting to a live press conference which is just beginning."
Camera angle switches to reveal a young man in his mid-twenties stepping up to a sea of microphones. A cheer erupts from the crowd of onlookers. He raises his arms for silence.
"People of New Genetican, members of the parliament," James tilted his head back to recognize the Parliament members behind him. "I thank you so much for this opportunity you have given me, to lead your nation in this wonderful time. With my election, I assure you that every attempt will be made to keep peace in our beloved new nation. We know that these are dangerous times, and our military spending will be heavy compared with the other nations surrounding us."
He paused to take a sip of water.
"This military will be used to defense purposes for the time being. We have much room to expand within our borders, and I expect us to make full use of it. A farming nation we began as, and a farming nation we will continue as. Take advantage of our fine lakes and streams, and use them wisely. Take good care of our environment and it will take good care of us.
People of New Genetican, I thank you once again!"
He raised his right arm and pointed his left finger at the camera.
"And never forget," he almost yelled, "Strike a path... Live a destiny!!"
The roar of bystanders was louder than most decibel readers could judge.
