((please note: I am a sister nation of Waterhelper. I will use its carbon nanotube/ aerogel/ faraday cage armor in this file just on SW type ships with naquadah and nanobots))
The Compassionate Empire of Prates has built up a empire that enompasses ten M-class planets in 25 systems covering a area of 50 ly squared. Even with all this another breathtaking discovery will be made.
...CEPNS Q'ger... (pronounced Q' gur)
"signal the fleet we are ready for the exploration mission."
"Aye sir." The feet consisted of 10 ISD2 and 15 ISD1 they were going to go on a mission for another leg of expansion little did they know that they were going to discover something that would shake the foundations of the Empire...
...unknown system...
the fleet emerged from hyperspace...

The starfighter moved at insane speeds doging hthe phaser blasts from what appeared to be two ships. A few hits from the "fighter" hit and nothing happened so it was assumed that it was a fake. it then turned and flanked the real fighter passing through the "fighter" guarding it.

Captain Arayn Tarrnu was having a little time to himself on the bridge of the IDW Hyperion, a top-of-the-line Vindicator-class dreadnought, when his entire 11-ship fleet was wrenched out of hyperspace by an unknown force. Tarrnu was immediately up, ordering a scan for grav-trap devices, but it appeared none were in the area. The only things seemed to be several ordinary-looking planets and several ships farther out. Though Tarrnu couldn't make them out, he ordered the fleet to move in closer to the action.

Two glistening white battle barges and eight strike cruisers with their escorts of shieldships folded space near the Prates fleet and they immediatley powered weapons and shields to full power. The shieldships moved to encompass the other ships in ancient shielding. Captain Justor stood tall on the bridge of the Veritas. A message was sent out,

Cease all attacks we are here for a first contact with the Prates government. We detected their unusual FTL signature and decided to investigate. We are boggled at your aggressive actions Doombringer of Sephrioth. However we will not allow you to attack innocent younglings.

Out of nowhere, a hyperspace conduit blossomed, seemongly exhaling the silvery box form of a Jove class ship, swiftly followed by two Aurora IIs and an Arcturus Asccendant science ship.

Immediately it began broadcasting an audio/video message.

This is the Alteran Dominion ship to all nearby sentients: we suggest that you hold your contest later, as the energy pulses are interfering with subspace research.

The Nova Bazalonian communications probe that was nearest to this encounter detected, with it's long range sensors.

After abit of creative programing from some technical whizes, the probe managed to broadcast a message that was a directed broadcast to the people in the interesting mass of ships.

Greetings, Some of you may know of us, however many may not. We are the People of Nova Bazalonia. If any of you do wish to communicate with us. Please used the attached information to do so.

Thank you

Although it was obviously impossible for the Artificial Intelligence piloting the small, box-shaped probe to feel any emotion, its sensors glitching for a second as it registered the vast quantity of vessels entering the system was a reasonable facsimile of surprise. As the damage control programming kicked in to investigate signs of damage to the passive radiation sensors, the nano-miniaturized active sensor array kicked in to verify the findings. This was obviously a risk to the probe: at the size of a hiking rucksack, and carrying no defensive equipment of any kind, anything but the least intrusive of broadcasting turned it into not only a beacon but also sitting target. Still, something had to be done.

Although the self-diagnostics had found no evidence of corruption in the hardware or software, the passive radiation detection equipment was clearly broken. The appearance of so many ships in the previously deserted system was not only mathematically improbable but also quite impossible: the laws of thermodynamics clearly stated that energy, and therefore matter, could not be created or destroyed, yet something had appeared from nothing. The possibility of a high-power electronic countermeasures device had also been ruled out. The passive sensors could not be neutralised, only spoofed by large radiation emitters. These would have alerted the drone to the presence of something, even if it couldn't work out what was emitting the signals.

The Autonomous Reconnaissance Vehicle had been placed in-system over two weeks ago after a telescope had picked up signals emitted from the system. Although the emissions recorded by the telescope would have taken place millions of years ago, it was still hoped that there would be something of note in the system. The ARV had been sent to the system to check, using sophisticated heat shields to come to a halt within the masking effect of the star's corona, remaining as unobtrusive as possible. This was a mission of observation, not intervention, and the arrival of an unknown vessel in-system could easily be determined as a threat. Once there the ARV had found nothing, a dead system devoid of all life, nothing like the intergalactic civilisation that scientists further outside the bounds of plausibility had predicted.

But now?

The active sensors too had determined that there were large numbers of vessels within the system. Diagnostics were activated again, hoping to clear the ARV of whatever corruption had rooted itself there. Once again, they found no, no errors in the hardware or the software. The AI pondered for a moment, Occam's Razor sliced, and it decided not only that there were ships within the system, but that leaving the active sensors on was probably alerting them to its presence. The electronic equivalent of "Oh, shit" shot through its circuitry.

hmm their good try going in to the suns cornoa and then firing phasers
Taldaan
26-03-2006, 20:03
The entrance of another vessel into the sun's corona immediately fulfilled several of the AFVs danger parameters. Although the incoming target had not yet entered its programmed engagement sphere where any unknown contact was considered a threat, it was currently on a rough course directly inbound. Sensor imaging showed possible weapons protrusions, and although it matched no known designs the shape of the hull showed it to be optimised as a combat vehicle. Sensors had also picked up that the craft had diverged from its previous course to enter the sun's corona.

With three danger flags raised, evasive programming was set to level three and triggered. Sensors immediately began tracking the incoming fighter, fixing it as a priority target within the memory stores. The drone then powered up its thrusters and made a short run further into the sun before beginning the deceleration and coming to a halt. If the fighter then turned to engage the AFV the next warning flag would be triggered.

the fighter fired on the tie fighter
Taldaan
26-03-2006, 22:48
The incoming target slashed through the space that the probe had once occupied in an arc that brought it around and away. Evasive programming dropped back down again as the switches in its flight program were reset, and it ceased priority monitoring of the fighter. Activating the drive again it moved back into its previous position to observe the situation. Using the optical suite it began to record the movement of the unknown vessel, every last scrap of footage being stored in its memory bank. The nano-hardware gave it vast capacity, rendering the motion capture a mere drop in the ocean within its circuitry.

Suddenly an electromagnetic discharge from the fighter sent sensor readings spiking, the wavelength and tight beam suggesting either a powerful unidirectional sensor pulse or weapons fire. The sheer power of it suggested the latter: such energy readings would be overkill for sensors, and a unidirectional sensor beam would be pointless as it would require the emitting vessel to already know where the target was.

Although the weapons fire increased warning levels again, the probe this time initiated observation rather than evasive programming, creeping forwards to observe more closely, although with engines charged for an escape. The active sensors were still broadcasting to gain a better picture of the area, although with the downside of alerting passive sensors to the probe.

the figther picked up the probes approach ant switched targets
Taldaan
26-03-2006, 23:08
Passive sensors and targetting warners immediately flared as the fighter targetted the probe. Apparently the gamble of leaving the active sensors on had been lost. All the warning flags switched on at once as it initiated evasive programming again. Immediately myriad possibilities flickered through its electronic brain, each one an evasive action.

The AFVs first action was to fire off a message capsule. With a nanominiaturized FTL drive, the message capsule contained a backup of the probe's data storage. At the size of a tennis ball, emitting no sensor signals, and already accelerating at an enormous rate, it would be essentially impossible to intercept. With the capsule away it would not matter as much if the probe was destroyed: its data, its purpose, was on its way home. However, the programmed secondary objective in an engagement situation was to escape to continue the primary mission if at all possible.

Shutting off all active sensors to rely on its passive array, the engines suddenly reached full power. Immediately it spun on the spot, firing engines on all sides to kill its momentum. Then it fired the forward accelaration engine, racing forward like a bullet from a gun. Accelerating smoothly, it plunged further into the nuclear furnace of the star. The processor had determined that the specially built sundiving probe's chances of survival were far better than those of the fighter if it attempted a pursuit, and the enormous radiation would likely mask it from any sensors.

The shots were abosrbed by the armor this time as the tie continued fireing. It noticed the probe but it was useless to find anything in the Corona of the sun.

((carbon nanotubes return excited particles to their original states (I read it somewhere) This means that no weaons based on radiation can destroy it that accounts for most of the weapons use lasers, phasers ETC. Also It is almost impervious to heat and el;ectricity because of nanotubes. Also projectiles are stopped/ slowed down by aerogel passivly emliminated everything but missiles, torpedos, projectile weapons of sufficient mass and/ or speed and directed energy weapons of sufficient power.))

((wait ships have 3' aerogel to help their defences fighters just have nanotubes they are made of it exept engines, weapons etc))

The fighter veered off bearly missing the oncomming fighter. However the shots it launched at it loosened a part which then hit the fighter hitting the window and killing the pilot. It then blew up.
