Looking For A New Home (FT/Magi-Tech; Intro; Open)

Dragon Emperor

OOC: Now go easy on me, please. This is my first attempt at working out a FT/Magi-Tech side to my original PT/Magi-Tech nation (which I'll still use on occasion). I'm making my FT side the far, far future version of my original PT side.

IC: The Earth was dying. After lasting for billions of years, the sun was about to become a red giant and melt the Earth's surface. The people of the island nation had been preparing for a long, long, LONG time for this day. Five billion years ago, enough had been learned about the sun by then to be able to predict how long was left to the year. Nine giant crystaline ships (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g166/The_Illuminati_Orb/Schematics/RD20032520-2520Ship2520of2520Light.jpg) had been grown and moved up into planetary orbit. The great mechas of the ancient's that inhabited the island were loaded, as well as genetic samples of every species in the nation, for security. The nine great Ships Of Light, as they were know, were each contained one-tenth of the nation's population. Of course, using technology based on some of the ancients, the ships were bigger on the inside then they were on the outside, so their was plenty of room for everyone and everything while leave left-over space.

Five Days Later....

The Ships Of Light dissapeared in flashes of light moments before the expansion of the sun reached the side of the Earth they were orbiting on. They had jumped on a random vector to save themselves. A few minutes later, the re-appeared in similar flashes of light in an unkown sector of the Milky Way Galaxy. The massive amounts of energy used when the ships jumped had drawn so much energy, that the glow that gave the ships their names dimmed for a moment. Of course, it would take some time for the capaciters to gather up enough energy to make a second F.T.L. jump.

OOC: No, its not the RL Earth, its the NS Earth that has nations popping up all over the place where there was nothing before (for example, my PT side is my own custom island in the Indian Ocean).

Oh, and as for first contact, at the moment, it will most likely be because one of us stumbles across the other in my search for a new planet to call home.
The Earth Space Fleet

OOC: I did it again. I'm Tannishar. Loged in under a puppet. :headbang:

IC: The 3 frigates of the Tannisharian empire left their hyperspace windows. They were part of the 27th recon. Their sensors had detected F.T.L. drives. The captain of the lead ship was Dirvain Ranax. "Captain we have exited hyperspace near unknown F.T.L. signatures." One of the bridge crew said. "Understood, open communications with the unknowns." Dirvain said.

To unknown ships, we are part of the Tannisharian Defence Fleet. Please identify your selves.

OOC: My first try at this as well. I'll try not to screw it up. ;)

IC: The Thugese survey flotilla hovered silently, whisker band com lasers slicing back and forth through space between the ships. The two Hun-class heavy survey cruisers and their four Rapier-class destroyer escorts were doing their best to imitate so many holes in space. ECM was operating in stealth mode and only passive sensors were engaged. Aboard the TNS Greyhound, the atmosphere on the bridge was tense. This was supposed to be empty space but that “empty space” had just gotten very popular.

“Message on the drone sir,” stated the junior com officer.

“What are the chances of the drone being picked up on its way out system?” asked Captain of the List Horace Merriman.

“Minimal sir. These are the new Mark IV’s. Their ECM is about three times more effective than the III’s ever were. It’ll take the drone only thirty-five minutes to reach the hyper threshold and it will be heading away from all contacts. I’m not saying it won’t be detected but I can say it won’t be easy,” replied Lieutenant Commander Amanda Franklin, the Greyhound’s chief communications officer.

“Very well, get it on its way,” he ordered. Behind the calm face he projected for the benefit of the bridge crew, Captain Merriman’s thoughts churned. That drone was headed for the nearest TNS navy base but that base was almost 3 days distant on a least time course. Even if Battle Fleet had it together an dispatched a battle group the instant the drone arrived, it would be almost 1 standard week before those ships arrived here. Anything could happen in a week. The Hun’s themselves, although large, were lightly armed. Survey Command vessels sacrificed heavy armament in favor of highly sophisticated sensor suites and science equipment, and first rate ECM. The good news was that the heavy survey cruisers were fast, almost as fast as their destroyer escorts. Those escorts were lightning quick and well armed but at only 90k tons displacement, they weren’t going to stand up to capital ships or even cruisers for that matter. He had a job to do and he was going to do it but that job had just gotten harder. He would proceed slowly along the perimeter of the system and await word from Battle Fleet.

“Drone launched sir.”

OOC: I'm not going to say I can see the drone without further knowledge about it. But their are things I can say I see, like engine exhaust.

Dragonlord Eragon (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g166/The_Illuminati_Orb/Character%20Pics/DragonlordEragon.jpg), the oldest member of the nation, was talking to the Crystaline Entity (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g166/The_Illuminati_Orb/Schematics/crystalline.jpg). Eragon was the one who had found the Silicon Avatar, as it was also known, all those billions of years ago. Many a Dragonlord had allowed their draconic halves to take over and become pure dragons while their human halves faded away. However Eragon's draconic half and human half had merged and become one long, long, before that.

"My friend," chimed the Avatar, "Our run on the Earth was quite long and had many an interesting result."

"Quite true," replied Eragon, "quite true. Its a real shame that such a beautiful planet couldn't last forever."

"Nothing lasts forever," chimed the Avatar.

"Except us, you mean," reminded Eragon.

"I don't know about you, Eragon," chimed the Avatar, "but I know I will one day die when I shatter into millions of pieces...."

"Yes, yes," interrupted Eragon, "I've heard this story before. Each piece is, in fact, your off-spring and that's how your kind propigated. I've yet to see any proof that this will happen."

A young elf came into the room.

"Dragonlord," she said, "we are picking up a transmission and sensors are reporting detecting the exhaust trail of a probe."

"First have sensors back-track the probe's exhaust trail and find its point of origin," said Eragon, "as for the comms message," he flashed a lop-sided grin, "I'll handle it. In the meantime, maintain our course, Captain."

The elf snapped a salute and said, "Aye, sir."

She then turned around and walked out of the room. Eragon moved over to the wall and manipulated what appeared to be carved runes. After a few minutes, he stopped. The message he had composed was sent to the Tannisharian ships.

These Ships Of Light are carrying the last surviviors of the nation of Dragon Emperor. We have recently escaped the death of our homeworld and are currently seeking a new place to call home.

"Sir, some rather strange readings.
report!
It's on the hyperwave, I've never seen anything like it.
In terms of magnitude, it's roughly the same as a heighliner.
but, the signature is more akin to a cabbit's, and there seem to be multiple signals, close, but not quite identical.
send someone to invesatigate.
Aye sir.

a single ship enteres the area.
Jen, apprentice of Malachai the student of Thra, humbly asks permission to approach.

"Hmm," muttered Eragon, "More ships are approaching and attempting communications."

He maniuplated the control runes again. The message sent in response to the signal from the Gelfland craft was similar, yet different, to the message sent to the Thrasians.

If you are requesting a face-to-face, then your request is granted. Approach the lead craft, the Destiny, and we will handle everything once you get into range.

A similar message was sent to the Thrasians asking if they wanted to join the face-to-face meeting aboard the Destiny.

The Ship came out of a portal that would read of strange Exotic Energies to those who did not know what Magick was. Those who know what Magic was, would understand what it was. A large flat ship that looked like a sheild came out. It was one mile accross, and two miles long. Gigantic cristals covered the Ship. They were Silver in color.

It sent out a general broadcast to the assebled ships.

"Greetings. We detected a lot of ships in the area, and thought we would drop out of warp to see if we could all get to know one another. We're new to this Galaxy, and come from The neighboring Galaxy of Andromeda." A voice said.

"At last," thought Eragon to himself, "kindred spirits who know of magickal energies."

A message was sent out to the Ri-an ship. However, unlike the previous messages that wove their way through Real Space, the message to the Ri-an ship was sent through the plane known as Magi-Space, the same plane that provided power and energy to the Ships Of Light class vessels that contained the last of the nation of Dragon Emperor.

Greetings fellow nation of magick and technology. We are the last of the once Earth-bound nation of Dragon Emperor. Sadly, our homeworld was destroyed in the firey death throws of our home star and we are currently searching for a new planet to call home.

If you wish a face-to-face, you can approach the lead ship, the Destiny. Once you are in range, we'll take it from there.

"d00d I come in wit teh 1000 battleshipz and killz your new civilzation lol!"

Captain Maranda laughed. That was one of the best lines in the new space comedy, "d00d I am teh pwninator wit 100000 shipz". As another vessel assigned to deep-space exploration, in reality, a way to get captains used to the rigors of space travel, without actually letting them do anything useful.

He suddenly stopped. "You've...gotta be kidding me", he said. It was just like the space sitcom! People travelled out into space, and miraculously found alien races with no effort or reality applied whatsoever. He laughed uproariously.

Greetings, this is the deep-space exploration craft Vasuvias. We're rather surprised to find another race out here, and, we were wondering, (Not to be intrusive, however) what brings you out to this dull place?

The captain turned of the recording, sent it, and sank into his chair. He looked at the frozen frame of the sitcom, and smiled. The character in it always tried to do something strange with his fingers, which ended up looking impressive.

He twirled his fingers, made the quick, sharp movement that the character made, and screamed. "OH, SWEET DEUS! MY FINGERS! THE PAIN!". Six of his fingers, he could FEEL the breaks. He sat in his chair, sobbing. He screamed again as the excruciatingly painful nanobots began repairing the breaks. He only had six crewmembers, and, as they could see everything from their viewscreens, they figured it'd be better not to bother him. They were both good pilots, and, as they saw it, the young captain would be a good commander once faced with some adversity, such as his own blinding stupidity.

On the viewscreen, Mig, one of the pilots, cracked open a cube full of titanium bottles, and drained one with a single gulp. Alcohol, entertainment, and possibly hostile aliens, he mused. What more could you want for fun?

"Argh," groaned Eragon, "this is starting to get repetitive."

The Avatar inquired, "So, why don't you set-up an automated message?"

"Good idea," replied Eragon.

He manipulated the control runes some more. After a few minutes, he had it set so that the Destiny would transmit an automated message to any new arrivals who sent the Dragon Emperor ships a message.

We are of the Dominion of Dragon Emperor. Our homeworld was destroyed in the fires of the dying sun. We currently seek a new world to call home.

If you wish a face-to-face, approach the lead ship, the Destiny. Once you are with-in range, we will take it from there.

The Sheild, as the ship was named, sent back a reply.

"We'd be happy to join you ina physical meeting. We'll be right over. We send our sincerest sympathies at having your homeworld destroyed."

The Sheild moved to the lead vessel, and was within range for the Destiny to do what it needed for the Sheild to dock with it.

The Destinii, the Destini, and the other ships drifted away from the Destiny so it was obvious which one she was.

A response was sent to the Ri-an reply message:

We shall await your arrival.

OOC: If you have ever seen the canon Ships Of Light from the original Battlestar Galactica, you'lll know that, once in range, you'll find yourself aboard the ship without any sign of teleportation devices being used and that everything tends to have a white look (even clothes tend to be bleached by the energies running through the place).

OOC: Nope, never seen Battle Star Galactica. I'll take your word for it though.

IC:The Space sorceress found herself on board the ship. She felt herself move, but wasn't quite sure how it happened. She suspected Magick was involved though.

Her robes was as Black as space itself, and adorned with nebulas, Stars, Planets, Moons, Galaxies, and it was like looking out at space itself. She stepped forward a little, looking around.

Gosh, its so, White.

With Every step she took, the design on her dress shifted slightly.

OOC: Robes kind of like a house coat, but much thicker. It does tie shut, and nothing inappropriate can be seen. It comes up, and she has the hood on over her head. All you can really see, is her Chin and pink lips. Her skin is white. She wears Gloves That appear as her robes, and her feet cannot be seen, as the robes are Floor Length.

The Ri-an sorceress would find herself at the foot of some stairs that led to a pair of massive. Suddenly, as if of their own accord, the two giant doors swung outward. Standing in the exact center of the now open doorway was Eragon, though, if one went by looks, there was no way he could have opened the doors on his own without any assistance.

OOC: DUDE! Man, it's great to see you back!

IC: The Sovereign-class SRS Fortuna picked up the energy signatures as they finished their first F.T.L jump. Not only that, but they picked up multiple contacts, all from civilizations they recognised. Hyperspatial, Ri-an... the list seemed to keep growing.

Captain Richards sighed to himself as he looked at the lastest duty roster... it had been so long since the last good war... he didn't count the bloody civil war that had engulfed his nation. He knew he'd made the right choice joining the 'rebels' in that conflict, and even now was sitting in control of a refitted ship, now boasting more power, weapons and labs than ever before,"Helm, adjust course to intercept these new ships. Once we get within comm-range, send the standard hail."

"Yessir!"

After a few hours of travel, using their co-axial warp drives to travel as fast as possible, the graceful ship translated back into real space. All Snake line ships were built from Starfleet designs, altered slightly. Beautiful to look at, and still deadly. Smaller and faster than some of the others, which was a bonus as far as they were concerned. Still, they weren't here to fight... well, not unless push came to shove. And they could shove.

To the Dragon-Emperor ships and all others in the area, this is the SRS Fortuna of the Shadow Republic of Snake Eaters. We are here peacefully, to investigate the energy readings we picked up. We would also like to make first contact on behalf of Snake Eaters to anyone who has not encountered us before.

An acceptable solution, jen thought, as he approached, he felt himself being transported aboard, and managed to save himself the embarrasment of landing on his backside, a moment later twiloki translocated to his side. and together they headed for what, had he been back at his master's hold, would have been the receiving room. he saw that another had arrived, apparently not long before him, and so waited a respectful distance back until the prior arrival could be recived properly. It would not do to embarrass his master and tutor with improper behavior, especially when visiting one who was, at the least, a powerful wizard.

OOC: @S.E.: Nice to be back, as long as people aren't mistaking me for SeaQuest (that was a little disturbing). Plus, now I can interect with the rest of the White Tower RP'ers on more levels than just the magi-tech ones.

IC: Eragon bowed in return and said, "Welcome aboard the Destiny, all of you. I'm Dragonlord Eragon. If you'll follow me, the rest of the Saethe is in here."

He brushed a stray bit of hair out of his eyes and stepped to the side to allow the Ri-an sorceress and the two from Gelfland room to pass into the chamber. Inside were all the furnishings that were originally inside the original Council Chamber in the Dragonskeep, which had stood throughout the island nations Earth-bound history.

The Crystaline Entity composed a special response to the Snake Eaters craft that they would recieve in addition to the automatic transmission triggered by any incoming message.

Greetings. Its certainly been a while since we've had contact with any from the great nation of Snake Eaters. Welcome to the party.

OOC: Is it just me, or do I happen to have the largest ships currently in this thread? I'm not sure on the exact dimensions, but I know the canon Ships Of Light from the original B.S.G. and Galactic 1980 were larger than the orginal Galactica's 1 nautical mile in length.

IC: Eragon smiled and bowed in greeting.

He gestured at the giant, horse-shoe shaped wooden table where the remaining members of the Saethe were already sitting with plenty of seats left for everyone. It was quite obvious that the table was quite, quite old (billions of years in fact) and quite well cared for.

"Please," he said, "take a seat."

OOC: My nation doesn't have the industrial base to build the larger capital ships yet. The largest vessel in the Thugese Navy right now is a battlecruiser and those are all in Battle Fleet. You won't find anything larger in Survey Fleet than a heavy cruiser. :)

“Hyper footprint! Right on the limit sir. Difficult to get a count at this range,” called out the plotting officer at Tactical.

Merriman’s steel gray eyes narrowed slightly as more icons flashed to life on the holoplot. Where all of these ships were coming from and why they were all arriving here remained a mystery but this couldn’t be a coincidence, could it? His eyes narrowed further as light codes next to the new icons indicated unknown ship types and unknown numbers. Things had definitely taken a turn for the worse.

“Bring the flotilla to general quarters Mr. Sanderson, if you please and signal Commander Brannon to go to Gamma Four. I want the screen tucked in tight and our data nets locked up,” he ordered.

“Aye sir. General quarters,” came the reply. No one on the bridge moved as alarm klaxons sounded throughout the ship. All over the 270,000 ton vessel, people moved briskly to their battle stations. Three and half minutes later, Captain Merriman watched that last amber readiness indicator blink to a lethal crimson.

“All stations report manned and ready sir. Flotilla is at general quarters. Commander Brannon has acknowledged Gamma Four,” reported Lieutenant Commander Richard Sanderson from Tactical. In the holotank, the plot seemed to bend as Commander Branson’s four Rapier class destroyers changed course. Within minutes, the four warships has boxed in the two heavy survey cruisers at a range of 800,000 kilometers. All six ships of TNS Survey Flotilla 118 continued to operate under the stealth of their ECM suites as they continued to move along the periphery of the system at a speed of barely 11000 kps.

“Very well,” the captain acknowledged, “we’ll carry on as we are now. Firm up those contact number and begin computing firing solutions. If anything wanders our way I want to be ready to shoot first and ask questions later. We have no idea what we may be getting into here but I want to be prepared for anything.”

“Courier drone has cleared the hyper threshold,” stated a junior comm officer. On the holoplot, the friendly green icon denoting a courier drone of the Thugese Navy blinked once and disappeared as the device translated up into hyperspace. Merriman only nodded. ‘Six days at the earliest’ came the thought, unbidden, to his mind. Six days before we can expect any sort of reinforcement from the Thugese naval base in the Omicron system. Captain Merriman sighed inwardly. If he put one foot wrong, it could all be over in six hours.

OOC: Well, considering the fact my ships are carrying my 900+ million population, they are going to have to be large to fit all those beings and still maintain my usual grandeouse architecture. Of course, this bigger on the inside than on the outside tech is also a good tool, but it has its limits.

IC: Eragon nodded, "This is the same table that the very first Saethe sat around. It is one of our national treasures."

He picked up a pitcher of water from a near-by tray that seemed to just float with no obvious support.

"In addition to these nine ships, we've confirmed signatures from Ri-an and Hyperspatial Travel. The others are still being processed. Although, if I must say, some of them are Battlestars."

"Don't we have a few of them somewhere?"

"Yeah, being stripped in the Tiravano shipyards. Not just them, but the Thrashian ISD and that old Imperium Mars cruiser. Reverse-enginnering."

"Alright, pull up all the specs you can on them, just in case. I want to send a reply to our Dragon friends."

We request a meeting. I, Captain Richards, would attend, along with two other crewmembers of my choice. We would arrive unarmed in a single shuttle.

"For a Table, maybe. If it was spelled with a special enchantment, such as the ability to veiw anyone who fell under the rules of the council, then perhaps it would be worth keeping. However, if indeed it was, just a regular desk, then indeed, there would not be much purpose in keeping it, except for maybe historic, and sentimental purposes. The Palce however, carries use with each successive Generation, even if it did develop under Evil influences. But, it is not for me to question what others deem valuble. And, thank you for the water." Laet said.

She sipped the water, breifly pushing back her hood to do so.
Eragon would find Laet had Black Eyes, and Black Hair. Her hair was long, shiny, and very silky.

OOC: If you're thinking about trying to, uh, work your 'mojo' on Eragon, then you'll be dissapointed. Dragonlords have the whole soul twin thing going on (each has a human soul, a dragon soul, and half a Dragonlord soul), and each pair of soul twins are destined to be together from the birth of each (due to the fact that they each have half of the other's Dragonlord soul). In Eragon's case, his soul twin allowed her draconic half to take over long before his whole merging of souls thing (which was also before my first thread (the PT/Magi-Tech intro)).

IC: Lleld, a small woman who could easily be mistaken for a ten-year-old child, said, from her seat at the table, "If you live as long as a Dragonlord, then you tend to welcome things that remind you of the happy times."

Since she honors her vows, and mojo working would have to come from Eragon, however, because of events you already said took place in his life, that seems, rather unlikely.

For a Dragonlord, its all about when you first Change (ie, have your draconic half awaken for the first time so you can shift to your dragon form (a more species related term for a Dragonlord (which is technically the rank) is were-dragon)) and what your Mark is (Lleld's is her height and Eragon's has one human eye and one wolf-like eye (I'm doing a little character editing to make them more realistic than they were in the original PT/Magi-Tech era)).

IC: Lleld snorted. Not one known for keeping her mouth shut, she always spoke her mind.

"A mere drop in the bucket would be right," she started before being silenced by a glance from Eragon.

"It has been thought, that we all live only as long as we are needed, no longer, no less, and that all efforts to modify your Life span, are in Vain. All Ri-an sorcerers live Exactly 500 years, not a second longer. Perhaps we are only useful, for that long. Perhaps there is another reason. I once knew a being that was as old as time itself. I wonder, do some beings live, only for the sake of living? or is there more to the Mysteries of Life, than anyone will ever understand?" Laet said.

OOC: I don't recall exactly how the first weredragons came into being, but it was quite clever. I'm going to have to find that book again.

IC: Eragon replied, "Weredragons, which would be the species name instead of the rank of Dragonlord, are magickal creatures. I don't recall the legends exactly myself at the moment, but I do know that the first weredragons were created to bring peace to a world in which wild magick ran rampant across the landscape. With the longevity of a truedragon, we are able to see things through."

OOC: According to my info, its very rare for a weredragon/Dragonlord to die of natural causes, if at all.

"We don't just use magick in Dragon Emperor," responded Eragon, "we also make use of science.

"As for these ships," he manipulates some of the runes on the wall behind him and a holo-display of the Crystaline Entity appears over the table, "we take a fragment provided by the Silicon Avatar and place it in a solution designed to promote accelerated crystal growth. Then, when they were ready, we imbue them with the same type of magickal life as the Avatar and gated them into space.

IC: A message was sent out to the S.E. ship in response to their message:

"Captain, are you sure it's such a good idea, you going alone?"

"I won't be alone, I'm taking our security chief and our medical officer along with me."

"You know what I mean, sir. We don't know their intentions yet."

"And going in all guns blazing is the way to solve it? No, we've got to make a show of faith. Now, get me a shuttle, and we'll head down."

Ten minutes later
"This is shuttle Gabion, requesting permission to land."

Such things were long lost among our people, they placed their trust in that they could control without understanding.

My companion here is somewhat an oddity in these times, Not long ago, as I am learning to consider time, one with her talents would never have been permitted off the homeworld without an entire fleet.

But, we can speak more of her kind later, I see now how it was your ships attracted our attention, nine beings, carrying an entire people within them..

She has also been assigned to make contact with as many new republics/empires out there.

"Councilor Kori, Ma'am?"

"Yes security what is it?" She was stairing out onto the bridge's view screen. It was her first time out in space for a while, ever since the Unknown Regions became her new home.

"We're revieving some activity. It appears that there is another new space faring nation out there."

"Well then, comm send the automatic greeting transmission."

"Aye ma'am."

Greetings from the Huntarian Alliance. We are a Republic with peaceful intentions. We would like to offer you any assistance you would need in your new introduction to space. "So, have you thought about trying to find a new home in Andromeda? I know of several habitable worlds that have no life at the moment. They are quiet large indeed, and i could even help you get all the way there. Looking at this Galaxy, it seems full of politics, and looks to be already divided up amongst great alliances, and massive empires. Andromeda on the other hand, is an unoccupied Frontier, with many worlds availible for the taking, and many wonderful creatures that live naturally in space. I believe you and your people could grow and thrive there." Laet said.

IC: Eragon responded, "We don't much care where the new homeworld is as long as we get one before overpopulation occurs. Kind of tough without a planet with only nine ships designed to hold around one-hundred million souls each. We can't exactly make more as that would require a planet based facility to contain the growing vats.

"We also have a few co-ordinates to planets that we found in ruins back on our old home planet. We were planning on checking them out as well and see if anything was left behing on them.

"Of course, it will be some time before we able to reach some of the co-ordinates as only one is located in the Milky Way. A second is located in a galaxy we've had limited, long-range comms contact with. We are still trying to plot the locations of the others on modern star charts."

OOC: If you go back to my original PT/MT/PMT/Magi-tech intro thread, you'll find a large chunk about an excavation under the island. Those ruins were supposed to be of an ancient star faring race that had a colony on the island long before I came along (they are even supposed to be the ones that had originally magickally sealed it off from the rest of the world for millions of years (only way to it was during special storms that came only once a century)).

IC: Meanwhile...

The elven Captain of the Destiny was handed a scroll. Acting like the datapads used by many more technological nations, this bit of paper was magickally endowed to act like a tablet computer (OOC: Think a magi-tech version of the Star Trek P.A.D.D.). Currently displayed on the parchment was the message from the Huntarian Alliance ship.

The Captain 'scrolled' to a blank 'screen' and began formulating a response by tracing draconic runes on the paper. Due to the magickal nature of the draconic text, the runes would always appear to be in the native language of the reader. When she was finished, the Captain handed the parchement back to the Ensign who had handed it to her orginially.

"Send that response back to them in addition to the automatic message Dragonlord Eragon devised," she ordered.

"Aye, ma'am," replied the Ensign before scurring away.

If you wish a face-to-face, send an unarmed shuttle with your delegate.

"Message councilor."

Councilor Kori read the datapad (star trek data pad style).
"Seem's that we're in the same boat as them. We have no homeworld as it is the Kirtir stole it from us. They have none. But.... I think I know a nice little planet which we can co-exist peacefully."

Kori began to type up a message to the Dragon Empire nation. Maybe this was a good idea after all.

Our home world was also taken from us. More like "Stolen" from us by our dark brothers the Kirtir. We may have a secret base within our territory in the Aphotic Galaxy Unknown Regions which you could temporairly use as a home base.

We would also like to meet face to face, however we only have armed air craft and we're on constant yellow-alert. I, Councilor Kori, am willing to fly a small X-wing Mk III craft to meet your leader with an escort from your nation.
Councilor Kori, representative of the Council of Twenty.

"Send them that message. It's a real shame that as keepers of peace, we have no unarmed craft."

"Hmmm," went the elven Captain as she thought aloud while reading the Huntarian Alliance message, "one small fighter shouldn't pose that much of a threat."

She calculated all the possible dangers a fighter could pose to the Destiny before drafting a response message.

Snake Eaters was no fool to the nuances of magick, thanks to the Drow of Kaymiril... but this was most impressive.

The rear panel slid down to rest on the ground, and the three officers stepped down, waiting to see if they were to be greeted. All of them were wearing similar uniforms. They were once more taken from Starfleet designs, with grey shoulder areas, quilted with vertical stiching. Each one of the officers wore a different turtleneck undershirt. Captain Richards wore the red of Command, his security chief wore the yellow of Operations, whilst the C.M.O wore the blue of Sciences. On their chest was the combadge, still in the Starfleet design to aid construction, but there was one slight difference. Stiched to the upper right arm was the flag of Snake Eaters.

I see, Our technology is largely independant of the Art, as we call it, aresult of for centuries always trying to do more, adapt what we knew to do everything better than the other beings of our world.

it was the problem of traveling faster than light itself that allowed understanding to catch up with capability, We found again those things beyond the physical universe, those things that must be understood far better before they can be useful. many of our anceint artifacts had resisted understanding until then, and we learned much that had been forgotten.

We have learned that most individuals in our society have some degree of magickal talent, usually in inverse proportion to their ability to utilise technology.
I am one of those few who do well with both, which is why I was chosen to investigate your appearence.

We pretty much kept to ourselves up to the very end when we left in these nine Ships Of Light. As a result, and the fact that magick also played a large part in the birth of the nation, our technology and magick, or the Art as you call, it became interwoven. For example, the power for these ships is drawn from a dimension we discovered that is composed of nothing but magickal energy that we can tap. This is also the same plane we access when we make an F.T.L. Jump."

"So, what provides the power for a ship this size? Or does the crystal produce the energy itself."

Lusador replied, "Actually, the power core taps directly into the same reality that we move through when we go F.T.L., a reality composed of pure magickal energy we call Mage Space."

"Excelent. Thanks for the guide," with that, Kori bowed to the Lieutenant again in a polite manner. She left the Lieutenant to herself and proceded into the lare doors which awaited her. She soon found herself in a room with several people in it, already in discussion. She assumed it was the same thing which she was sent for. The Force told her that.

"Please pardon my interuption gentlemen," Kori then bowed in the greeting manner, "My name is Councilor Kori. I'm a representative of the Malkir Council of Twenty. I've been sent here by my superiors to help you out in your current situation."

Anita bowed in return and watched the Councilor walk across the chamber before returning to her duties.

Eragon was taking a sip of water when Councilor Kori entered the Council Chamber.

He turned to her, after putting his glass back down on the tray floating in mid-air, and bowed in greeting before saying, "I'm Dragonlord Eragon. Welcome aboard the Destiny, Councilor."

Lusador shrugged.

"I'm not one to brag," he said, "but we did have over five billion years to work on it before our home world was engulfed in the flames of the dying sun.

"As for a technology exchange, you'll have to talk to the members of the Saethe, the Dragonlord Council, about that.

"Speaking of which," he paused, "you may find this archway interesting. Step through and you'll come out of another in another part of the ship. More useful than the turbolifts, elevators, et cetera some nations use. It technically uses the same technology as our FTL Mage Jump technology, though you don't go as deep into the layers of Mage Space when using an Arch."

He pulls out a key ring with various engraved symbols dangling from it. He flips through them for a bit before choosing one and placing it in a recepticale next to the Arch. Inside of the Arch, previously just more of the same crystal the ship is made of, shifted to an area of pitch black as the interface formed.

"Just step through and you'll exit in the Council Chamber. We've gotten it down so that it takes about the time for a healthy person to take three deep inhalations and exhale fully no matter the distance," he said," Of course, in between, what we call the layer of Mage Space used in Arch technology, its pretty much a nothingness to the senses of a being from this dimension. No sight, sound, smell, touch, taste, et cetera. Only a freezing cold from lack of thermal dynamics as we know it and an increase in telepathic ability have been noted while in between."

ah, I had heard of such things, the art does seem to slow the usual ravages of time, and I have heard that, at times one skilled in the art, will merge completely with a partner, that reminds me, we have been here some time, and I have not properly expalined my companion, Twiloki, she and I have been joined by the art. it is not exactly a common practice among my people, mainly because the results are, unpredictable, for my part, SHe provides me with the ability to gain a different perspective on things, and, when in her other form, a sense of the space around us.as for what she has gained from it, we are not certain, Cabbits have long associated with my people, at least, those who choose to.
but anyways, thus far, those skilled in the art who have tired of living, have merely willed themselves back to the lifestream, or, perhaps from your perspective, entered magespace.

"Thank you emperor. Before we begin, my people have a gift which we would like to present to you," Kori reached into her robes, pulled out a Malkir-Master Crafted lightsaber and activated it. A glowing 5 ft white blade emerged into the room. She focused the force upon the blade, and it glowed brighter, and brighter and brighter. Up to the point where it could blind oneself. It contained a very special crystal, the Heaven's crystal as some Malkir have come to call it. Technically, it's classification would be "White."

"This blade has special magic abilities when interacting with the Light Side of the Force. It can blind a person up to the point where they can't see. It gives you the advantage to charge into your enemy. Both of our top Councilors, Jorrus and Magriel, wield a white blade," she deactivates the blade and hands it to the emperor.

Eragon was a little taken aback at being called Emperor. For a moment, it caused him to loose his train of thought, a rare thing to happen. Of course, as luck would have it, Lleld had returned in time to hear it as well. You could tell from the glint in her eyes. Of course, she had gotten back around the middle of the discussion of time.

Lleld said, in response to Laet's comment, "Think of it in terms of dog years and human years. You'll get a better understanding of the concept then."

"First off," Eragon said, "I'm not an Emperor. The nation is called Dragon Emperor because, prior the formation of the Saethe, the land that used to be our home on our home planet was ruled over by the true dragons and their imperial family.

"As for the gift," he continued with his eye not covered by the 'patch' barley open because of the light, "I thank you in the name of the Saethe, which is better known as the Dragonlord Council."

He makes a slight gesture after the blade is deactivated. A minute later, a Dwarven Lieutenant comes into the room with a seathed sword. He hands it to Eragon and then scurries from the room.

"While I can't give you anything as stunning in return," Eragon said, "I can give you this sword which was forged from the fang of a Dragon of the element of Air."

He removes the sword (http://www.battleorders.co.uk/acatalog/AH3329.JPG) from its scabbard. The blade seemed to crackle with the elemental energy contained inside.

Magick. Magick was a limitless constant throughout the Materium. While the Chaos Sorcerors of the Imperium drew their fearsome power from the depths of the Ether; the Warp; The Immaterium; they knew that other cultures, other nations had their own observances and rites of dark mysteries. The power and the prestige, the use and the utterance of magick.

A ship was sent, a vessel of glorious diplomacy; the being within, seated upon his throne, tapping his gauntleted hand against the arm of it, smiled softly. He chuckled almost absently, a wave of his hand bringing dancing sparks to the air, shifting, softly, into an image of stars and worlds.

"There" He whispered

And there they went, tearing into the warm embrace of the warp; towards this new nation, towards these new refugees amongst the void. And Severino Jeriacor; Primarch of the Black Fist; Sorcerous Lord of the arts of magick within the Imperium, smiled softly. He had work to do...

There were the planets exactly as Laet described them, and the Habitable moons. There was at least one habitable moon for each Gas Giant, Six of them in total. The star was fairly young, and had been in the main sequence for about one billion years. The ships would notice several spots ideal for them to begin a colony at, including several islands suitable for geoforming into the island Lled was nostalgic about.

The ships would discover weak signals coming from a distant star, similar to those from the Ri-an sheild ship. Obviously, it was their homeworld.

Eragon replied to the HA delegate, "Honestly, we would have to bring the others along with their ships in tow as I don't think their crews or nations in general would just approve of us just up and dissapearing with them.

"It would appear as if we were kidnapping them. So, I leave it to every nation's representative to decide if they wish to attend the demonstration. If not, we can meet seperately later for it."

Laet smiled.

"I would be willing to go." She said.

Laet's robes changed to a map of the universe.

"I would like to see it in person, but I think it would be best if we saw it via your remote cameras."

I feel I would be lax in my duties if I were not to witness the ship in action, and as for my return, well, as long as the fundemental laws of the universe are unaltered, tuloki shold have no problem finding the way back.
{ooc: in case I hadn't made it clear earlier, Tuloki is my guy's ship, in another form.}

Lleld chuckled.

"The only danger," she said, "would be if you fell in. As long as one stays away from the edges during entry, you should arrive on the other side intact."

With that, she manipulated the controls and the holo-emitter switched to a display of ship's core. It looked a three dimensional oil slick, only made of gas, with the varying colors. The turbulance around the edges was visually strong enough to atomize anything that entered it.

OOC: Combine the look of the time portal from the Lost In Space movie and the Other Side from S-Cry-Ed and you'll get the basic idea of what it looks like.
