(OOC: This is meant as a reference for Van Luxemburg's Governmental policies and stances on several cases. If you want to know something, request it.)
POLICY ON:
-Military
Currently, the Van Luxemburgian Military focuses on Peacekeeping and defensive operations, although it is able to mount sizeable offensive operations. The Van Luxemburgian Government is not so interested in the Military, and has more interests in Diplomatic and Internal affairs.
However, a strong "National Guard", (The VLCDF) is present, consisting of more manpower than even the Normal Army. They however do not leave their homecountry.
-Migration
Van Luxemburgians are free to emigrate as long as they have the needed papers from the receiving country, but the Immigration laws are stricter. Immigrants will be accepted at anytime as long as they have no trackable criminal record, And complete the Naturalisation Course with at least a 7 (on a scale of 10). If they fail three times, they will be sent back to the country they came from.
In the meantime, people can follow courses to ease the tests by knowing more, and they will reside in Governmental camps, which have been supplied with all luxuries. Food and Drinks are provided by The VL Government, while the people in those camps may not earn money in VL. Each immigrant must do at least one naturalization course every Half year.
Refugees will be sent to the same camps, and will be sent back to their nation as soon as the situation is safe again. (This is asessed by The Ministry of Foreign Affairs). They may not earn money in the meantime, and a Naturalization Course is not compulsory. There is a maximum of 10 million refugees/year. Everyone past that amount will be sent back or to alternative undercome in another nation.
-Law & Security
The main point of the government. The Van Luxemburgian Police has the best equipment, and is well-trained for it's job. No signs of underpowering are present. The IVD (Inlichtingen- en Veiligheidsdienst, or Intelligence and Security service), has it's HQ is Chateau Vianden, and has been equipped with the newest technical gadgets. Ambulance (Paramedic) and Fire services are sometimes a bit overused, but can handle their jobs and are adequately trained.
-Education
Everyone starting at the Age of 4 must go to the Primary School, finishing (usually) at age 12. It consists of 8 Grades, of which Grade 1 and 2 are mainly meant for training primary abilities such as recognition, and is also used as a training to get used to School. At Age 12, The children need to fulfill a test which decides, together with their teachers' Asessment, to which school they go. After this, Middle School will start. There are three options:
Low Education - Takes 4-years, is the easiest.
Middle Education - Takes 5 years, is set for Average abilities
High (pre-universitary) Education - Takes 6 years, has a high learning curve.
At the end of those educations, Exams will start. Failure will result in a need to re-attend the last class, and do the Exams again. If passed, People may go for Universitary, Middle or Low Trade Education. The length of these educations depends on the difficulty and the trade.
-Social Affairs
Everyone not able to work must be seen by a doctor, which asesses their ability to work. eventually, they will be sent to a fitting job. If completely unable to work, they will receive a monthly payment by the VL Government, to be able to buy food and drinks, aswell as pay bills for housing and electricity, aswell as others.
If fired by their previous employer, people must report to the nearest Work agency, which will then register them for a monthly payment, which however requires them to fulfill at least one sollicitation a month.
