I've been thinking about creating a 007 line in here, and I'm not certain of the history [haven't been here in over a year...and still getting the tricks of the trade out...]...And while I'm one to just start it out, I just want to know if this will get enough attention to have some fun with it and whether it's worth the pain...

So basically, this is going to a new 007 feature, with new locations, new villains, and new girls... Someone will RP out 007 in his various exploits around the world and other people can join in and provide reasonable tips about what's going with this secret evil plot to do damage to the world or whatever. I'll be M16 [i.e. the guy who runs the show on what the assignment is...and after M16 has run its use, I'll just watch this thread to keep it clean...I might occassionally step in as well...]

So the rules for this thread...

1- 007 never dies [except for that one time he went to Hong Kong...]
2- The villain has to die sometime and his plot must fail
3- The villain must have a diabolical scheme to overrun the world with chaos and ruin, and moderately [even nearly] succeed before 007 intervenes
4- Girls must be ultrahot
5- Sex scenes are in place, but keep it extremely clean - don't want to upset kid's parents...
6- Since I will be running Q Branch, 007 must use all of the new technology that Q gives him for employment
7- [not a rule as much as it is tradition] Bond must destroy one of Q-gadgets in some amusing form or another [i.e. car jumps off a cliff and 007 parachutes out, leaving the car to roll to its miserable demise]
8- Bond quotes are a definite must [i.e. 007 gets captured and villain holds him over bottomless pit: "That's a long way down." - not the greatest example, but you get the idea]
9- M16 is the final authority on all things! No ifs, buts, ands, or ors...
10- HAVE FUN - if you're not having fun, you're doing something wrong...

So anyways... just tell me if this is workable...

I wouldn't have any qualms about playing some diabolical villain or one of his henchmen. I also wouldn't have a problem playing an ultrahot, uber-slutty Bond girl or an aiding member of the Ttamboan secret service.

try to use RL countries...the first question 007 would ask, "Where is Ttambo?"

One thing, it's MI6, not M16. MI6 is Military Intelligence Section 6, and M16 is M Sixteen.

Anyway, it's interesting, and if I wasn't too lazy to post, i'd participate - in fact, i'd probably join anyway, but I don't want to ruin the RP while everyone waits on me. Sounds good fun though and i'll read it if you do do it.

IA = intelligence agency [from another country]

FSB = Federal Security Service [Федеральная служба безопасности]

Zukovsky makes a quote about the FSB and the KGB... "different name, same friendly service" :D

I would like to note that not all of the Baddies died in their debut. Jaws for example was in at least two bond films. I wouldn't mind RPing a character such as this.

He was just an example, I remember there being others but their names' escape my mind at the moment. Also, would a reoccuring character like that be acceptable? Maybe a mercenary based one?

examples of recurring villains are far and few in between...there are recurring friends, like my favorite Zukovsky :) too bad he died...

Not me, but I would RP a SAS based squad sent in to back the man himself up, if or when he needs it.

If you want to know what a Bond movie is like, get Goldfinger from the video rental place or however you get movies...the archetypal Bond film :)

well, I think I don't know why people like villains...but I especially don't know why people don't like 007...

I think people like the bad guys better because they don't require a long time commitment on this...

On this list of people who voted, there's a whole bunch of who said they'd try but didn't leave any sort of post stating who'd they like to try...maybe one of them wants to be Bond :)

I'll tell you; Bond's character is important, so I'll ask you three questions about Bond that is essential to his character. If you answer them all correctly, you're Bond.

1 - What branch of the armed services did Bond serve in?

2 - What is his drink?

3 - What is Bond's weapon of choice?

In response to what Naktan said on the other thread, Bond isn't very active so we are trying ot advance the plot as much as we can with out him. Plus there has not been much that we've done, alot of the posts were casual banter between characters to show what they are like. Also, are OOC comments tagged onto the end of a post okay if they are relevant to the post?

of course...

as long as they don't go into "what's your life story?" kind of stuff...

it's not that I don't liike them [I actually don't care that much...], but it's confusing to player trying to RP about Nigeria if they're reading stuff about the Superbowl... :D

I know it may be a little too late, but I am a big Bond fan. I was wondering if I could join in as one of Bond's old associates? I was thinking possibly Valentine Zukovsky (I know he was killed in "The World is Not Enough", but perhaps he could've survived?) Valentine is one of my favorite characters.

Until further notice, I won't be able to get on this forum anymore...academics have taken a dip for the worse, seeing as 6 weeks grades weren't too happy and 10 weeks doesn't look good either unless I shape up...besides, I'll be doing tours this Saturday, so I'm pretty much out of this whole NS thingy...

I'm thinking that this thing is pretty much dead, so it doesn't really matter much, but if there's any question about where I am, you'll know...
