Getting Back on the Horse (closed to huntarian civ. war participants)

Huntaer

The Lorita System. A long time ago, this was the last standing point of the Grand Republic of Huntaer who was fighting for controle of their last holdings on the outskirts of what is now the Huntarian Empire. Governor Mors looked out of his office and wondered why he had to get this planet. It was a hell hole, but it was essential to the Empire. This is the opening point. The point where if he lost it, the Empire would be vulnerable to attack. For this system held the outermost starship yards. The ones which helped create the Taks Force which was sent to investigate the Phantom Threat in the Unknown Reagons.

He knew what had happen to the fleet. It was a suicide mission and he and everyother high official knew it. The Emperor sent in a person who he suspected of becoming a traitor. He was successful. They haven't heard of, or from, Darth Deshoonde since Aelikes took his place. The Empire has been better off since. Or so he thought.

A messanger boy rushed into Moss's room, breathing heavily.
"Governor!.... Other systems.... being attacked.... Must call for.... help...."
He came in so fast the guards had little time to block him.

"Slow down there boy! What are you saying?"

"The Rebel's have gotten friends. They're attacking the Aritash System, Korjiar System, and Bunitash System. It's organized. They've even go FTLi drives activated preventing anyone from excaping the systems!" He hands Gov. Moss the datapad.

Moss looks at it for a few moments. His face fell, and frowned. He soon changed from a frown to a worried officer. "Get an communication uplink to Crothick in the Gritisha System. I need to speak to General Brithsmoth."

"Yes sir."

If the reinforcements didn't arive in time, the Empire would be in trouble.

(OOC: There's significant spy presence in all systems, right?

Also, a bit of explanation - the Hakurabi are transferred to a cybernetic brain at the age of five, and implanted with an AI that remains with them for life. The AI is more-or-less blank, and develops along with the person as an equal. Now, different people form different relationships with their AIs, and some eventually remove the blocks seperating the consciousness and merge with their AIs.

Formal names address both the AI and the person, though informally they are referred to by the person's last name. First names are rarely used except amongst friends, and when the person has merged they are known by the format [Firstname]/[AI] [Lastname] as opposed to the normal [Firstname] [Lastname]/[AI].)

---Command Deck, UAMV Wintermute, Orbit above a rebel stronghold---
Admiral Heywood Talwort/Starlight looked out a window onto the rebel planet as shuttles moved between ships and the planet, building up a remote command base where their movements could be effectively coordinated. Intel would be an important part of this effort, and everyone understood command could not remain upon ships which could be destroyed at any time. The command staff were already down there, and plans were being formulated even as the base was built.

An entire wing of the intelligence department had been sent, and they were already talking to rebel leaders to find out who were the key players in the empire - they would need to be eliminated and leadership placed in the hands on incompetents. The pen was mightier than the sword, but when the two are joined both are stronger than a thousand pens and swords.

Operatives had already moved out to various systems and the recruiting of locals and officials on various planets was already underway. The sooner one could gain a foothold, the better prepared one was for the backlash.

Military action, however, had to be as precise as a surgeon's tool. The mightiest fleet can fall when faced with a wiser enemy who destroys their morale and attacks their weak points.

Only a fraction of the army had arrived, anyway.

IC:

New Leningrad-

Sensei-Admiral John Donaldson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:MickC.jpg) was sitting at his desk aboard his ship, the Josef Pilsudski. He had a big cigar in his mouth, and was furiously looking through a stack of reports. As it was, Aritash, Korjiar, and Bunitash Systems were in the hands of the Malkir rebellion.

He then turned to the Catgirl adjutant that walked in and said, "Hey, Jackie. Get this to Sensei Tadanobu and Admiral Jueng over at LA and in the TSR. Tell them things in Huntaer are breaking down. Korjiar System, Bunitash System, and Aritash are in the hands of Rebels. They'll wanna hear about this."

The adjutant said, "Yes." and went to make the necessary calls.

-------

Three Minutes later-

Donaldson was on the line with Sensei Tadanobu and Admiral Jueng Ma. Sensei Tadanobu had always hated Huntaer's Kirtir; her general policy was the destruction of as many Sith and Sith-aligned forces as possible. She was not easily figured out; a flexible woman whose only policy was the one described above and would use all measures to achieve it.

Jueng Ma was more conservative. A devout, spiritual man, in another life he could have been a peacemaker. He was a cautious admiral, flexible and decisive but one who preferred to play a defensive game and move only when the opporunity to presented itself, using long distance weaponry to do damage and try to minimize casualties.

Somebody who conflicted with Donaldson, who was an aggressive, violent ideologue.

As he had the two in a conference call, the differences became apparent.

Donaldson cursed at Jueng Ma: "You bastard. This is the anti-Sith opportunity we have been waiting for! Fascism can be dealt with here and now! And you would refuse to intervene!?"

Ma replied, "I am not refusing to intervene, I am simply waiting to assemble more men with permission from the Grand Council of the Acolytes. Until the Acolytes agree to intervene, I cannot join alone."

Tadanobu said, "Well, John, he has a point. If we go too early, it could mean disaster for the nation. We need to plan, and certainly organize ourselves before attacking."

John fumed, and said, "Well, think about it. They're already producing ships. They have shipyards. But how long do you think they will last alone? The Huntarian Empire is massive, and has the tools to suppress any revolt that is not aided. But if we aid them, we can show that we not only can talk tough, but mean what we say. We can also validate the Socialist ideal through revolutionary action, showing others we are not weak."

He then leaned in and said to Jueng Ma, "Mr. Jueng. Do you wish to see others live in slavery any longer? These people are trying to free themselves. They only want democracy, and they are only throwing off the shackles of Kirtir tyranny. They only want their natural rights. And I know you are in favor of both, on religious and ideological grounds."

Jueng Ma then said, shaking his head, "I share your enthusiasm. My heart goes with you. But my brain tells me to assemble, then attack. That's all I need, that way we can aid them better with a half-hearted, disorganized effort. Allah has punished those who are hasty, and it is said he who God would destroy, He first made them mad. Let us not fall into the latter category, and act with violence and haste."

Junko said observing both, "I think I'll call the Council for an emergency meeting. Mr. Jueng and Mr. Donaldson are welcome to come or otherwise join via FTL communications. Either way, they may vote in Mr. Donaldson's favor."

Donaldson said, "Understood," and closed communications.

-----

Five hours later-

The emergency meeting of the People's Acolytes Grand Council of the Acolytes did meet. And, after some debate, Junko Tadanobu herself spoke out, urging the Council to agree with her.

As her voice carried the most sway, (SIC: and she had several of the members already in her camp), the decision was made to appoint Sensei-Admiral Donaldson as head of the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. Composed of veterans of the Coriolanus Brigade in No Endorse (OOC: At this point, I treat that war like Desert Storm), and a fleet from both ND and the Terran Socialist Republic to come soon, they would be ready to depart for the Malkir lands as soon as possible (OOC: Using Fluid time to speed up their involvement.)

SIC:

Of note was that the secret Dare Death Squads would be deployed to the ALB. Made up of ex-Hajarran War Criminals who tried to escape justice, their Force powers, lack of morality, and skill in interrogation and COIN Operations (plus their recent retraining as commandos) made them useful candidates for some super secret black ops missions ahead.

".... And they've --- got ineligence reports on our---- activities in the system. It's as though we've got spies in our midsts," said a static hologram of Governor Moss. General Brithsmoth (http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a172/Huntaer/Huntaer/SM_HQ_art.gif) rubbed his eyes as he staired into the flickering hologram. He never did like that old bit of technology. He prefer's the newer, crisp and clean holograms.

"Anything else Governor?"

"Yes. Get some of your Space Marines over here. And our allies. We are gogithng-------Kfffft----" The hologram finnaly flickeref for one last time.

"Comm, REPORT!" Brithsmoth barked.

"Transmission jammed at the source sir. There are communications break outs on the all along the colonies."

"Send a distress transmission to our allies. Get Master Kilther (http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a172/Huntaer/Huntaer/sith01concept.jpg) on over. Gather up the rest of the troops. We're going to fight the rebel scum." At that he put on his helmet, and he marched off.

Transmission sent to: Mini Meihem, Hobbeebia,Azaha,CorpSac,Relative Liberty and all other allies
From: General Brithsmorth.

We have been attacked by rebel forces and their allies at this time on our outer rim terretories. We request immediate back up. Coordinates of the systems will be sent. We also request for one nation to defend one system with the rest of my fleet. Brithsmorth out.

-----------------------------

"Comm, what happened to my transmission!?!" Governor Moss shouted.

"Jammed. Sir.... We have a fleet of warships comming in. It looks like what remains of the Deep Space Fleet. They still have the markings of our flag on them."

"No.... They're suppose to be dead. Alive...?? No matter. Ask them for help."

".... No responce sir."

"Try again."

".....Nothing."

"Damn it. Can you pin-point where the jamming is comming from in this system?"

"..... It looks like it's comming from the leading command ship!"

There he sat upon his great throne, his deep sunken eyes peering across the vast throneroom, pinpointing a large greyish-green bubble, with small nurglings resting inside it.

Slowly, the huge being looked down at his over-sized Space Marine armor, eons old it was. His massive bloated, and pus-filled head tilted ever lower, his gaze peering at his armor. No new desieses, no new battle scars, no new nothing. He sighed a low gutteral sigh, almost a gurgle. The Azaha had been in isolation for over 50 years, and the Daemon Prince Gustable was getting very bored.

Although the isolation wielded many new technologies, and great advancements(Far too many to be disclosed here). But the isolaiton had lead to the warlords of Azaha to bicker, even small fights breaking out between rivaling legions. Now, Gustable was going to change that, set a common goal for the warlords, reunite the Azahan under one banner, and conquer all who oppose.

The massive 20 foot behemoth stood up from his grand chair, and bellowed a call. "Ezekial!" was the yell, a yell so deep and loud, that the decaying steel walls buckled, and the bubble of pus the nurglings slept in burst.

Quickly, a man wearing Space Marine Terminator armor rushed in, pusing the two massive throne doors open as he did. He jogged to the middle of the throneroom, and took a kneel. "My Lord!"

"Send probes to all corners of this pathetic galaxy! Find worthy prey.. and perhaps a worthy ally." the low gurgling voice of the Daemon Prince uttered.

"Of course my lord!"

Black smog piled out of the various flumes and pipes scattered over the Hulk known as Morr, small un-needed gubbinz fell off, only to be snatched up by the small Vultcha Class Scavenging ships, as the Hulk slowly ventured into the Space-Heap the Vultchas made their way back into the Morr to brag about the amount of wreckage gathered.

"Kap'n Morr!" Morr turned as he recognised the voice in an instant, "Genrull Gritzk, wot brinz yor lot ter this 'eap?" Morr asked, Gritzk was an Ork to be feared, more so than other Orks, his word meant rule and it was best to have as little contact with him as possible, it was for this reason he had gained the title of 'Death Speaker!' "I'll spare tha Detayles, er while bakk we pikked up a skrap banditz ship, tha komputa told us 'bout a possible war, I'll be sendin' along co-ordinates, yu'll be leaving with tha Hulk shipz Gritzk and Tangrinz."

With nothing else said the three Hulks moved slowly out of the Heap and onwards to the goals set out by Gritzk, the Morr let out it's Vultchas as the fleet jumped to FTL.
Relative Liberty
18-03-2006, 22:54
The Stellar Empire of Relative Liberty. What once was a beacon of justice and liberty, once a mighty empire spanning thousands upon thousands of worlds and having quadrillion inhabitants, had, alas, fallen to corruption and decadance. The empire had shattered as warlords rose against the ruling Senate, and hundreds of planets had been wiped off the face of the galaxy, their names erased from history and their populace eradicated. The Libertarian fleet had been torn asunder by rivalry and powerhungry demagouges, and even the Core Worlds were attacked as weapons of incredible firepower were unleashed in the conflict. Finally, the Senate, and the Prime Minister, having been granted the power necessary to single-handedly run the vast empire during this time of internal strife, withdrew the Imperial forces from the Outer Worlds, surrendering them to chaos and anarchy.
Unto this world, the Dictator was born. A genetically enhanced soldier, created to serve the isolationistic will of the Senate and Prime Minister, his destiny was set for a higher purpose. He rebelled against the decadent fools, the incompetent bureaucracy of the Republic, and established himself as the military and spiritual leader of the Second Empire. His mind bent on expansion, and returning the fledgling empire to its former glory, he began waging war against the warlords in the Outer Worlds. Conquering the Falconmen, he sent his forces further out into space to vanquish the rebel leaders which had been masters of their own since the time of the Great Civil War.

And now, as the home front began to stagnate, or stabilize as it was called by the High Command, he began turning his attention to the rest of the galaxy. Who knows what riches lies beyond the borders of the Stellar Empire, in space where no Libertarian has ever gone before? Is that not the most noble of enterprises, to boldly go where no man has ever gone before? Perhaps not, but it is therefore not a surprise that Libertarian listening posts on the edges of Libertarian space detected the disturbances in Huntaer.
Neither is it a surprise that the First Secretary of the High Command received an emergency report from a forward stationed listetning post, telling of the recent conflict. Neither that the High Command, six Star Lords, ten Field Marshalls, four Colonels and five Colonels of the Diplomatic Corps, was assembled in the space station Relativity, home base for much of the Navy's ships and vessels.
''Gentlemen, you know why you're here,'' said Colonel Two-Fang of the SODOF, the Special Operations Department On Foreigners.
''Our listetning posts have detected an incident in the nation of Huntaer,'' he continued but was interrupted by a metallic, female voice who announced that a message had been received.

We do not know of their supply line location and attacking from their rear is impossible for their base is somewhere in the Unknown Reagons. Please send your third fleet to the Korjiar System. If we can stop their advance from there, we have a chance.

We appreciate your assistance to the stabilization of the Aphotic Galaxy and the Huntarian Empire. We would like you to send your army/fleet to the Aritash System. My fleet will be jumping to the main system of Lorita. We will then procede to the Bunitash System, on the other side.

Thanks and god speed.

So there were replies, Brithsmoth thought to himself. He knew of an Orkish Empire to be comming along soon. Even another Space Marine Empire to be comming forth. Perhapse things won't be as bad as they seem.

He climbed into his Hornet Class Lambda Shuttle with the rest of his Space marine squad. They were ready and, hopefully, the Kirtir allies would be to. He only hoped that Master Kilther got his message.

X8 Dominator Star Destroyers
X16 Enforcer Star Destroyers
X32 Nebulon B figates
X32 Strike Cruisers

"AB Brigade- 2nd Fleet (From Terran Socialist Republic)-Robert Gould Shaw Force"

10 Mao Zedong IIa Battleships
10 Mao Zedong III Battleships
10 Prochkhorovka I Carriers
10 Prochkhorovka II Carriers

Ominously for the future, Junko Tadanobu went to the Premier of New Dornalia and the Commissar for National Defense, and they concurred with her. Huntaer had officially not been a danger to New Dornalia, but privately, something about the Kirtir and the Sith creeped MacIntyre out, with their disdain for democracy and various other things. Not to mention, Junko had a habit of making a good case whenever she needed government support. So, they agreed to let her recruit from regular forces and Pirate crews, Flying Tigers-style, to supply the flow of volunteers from civilian life and the Terran Socialist Republic and Mercenaries (which was this time, deemed not enough to supply the fleets, even with automation), and partake of arms dealers at cost. Thus, people from People's Militia forces, inactive naval units, and even the odd pirate gang deemed reliable enough were recruited to supply the ships with crew, and ultimately, the Abe Lincolns could go on ahead though a training period near New Leningrad and time to assemble all the command staff was necessary.

Thus, the Abraham Lincoln Brigade, fully assembled in New Leningrad.....in advance, a message was sent over secure lines to the Malkir/Rebels:

SIC:

There were only a few SD(p)s in 8th Fleet, and no Dreadnoughts. Instead there were 20 CLACs, nearly 30 BCs, and nearly 100 CAs, CLs, and DDs. It ws a primarily offensive force, made for fast strikes and disappearances afterwards, able to hit hard and fast, and escape before they could take any critical damage. 3rd Fleet on the other hand was very heavy in SD(p)s, CLACs, and BCs, the heavy hitters of the Alliance Navy, able to slug it out with any opponent to a point, and able to deal serious damage to anything in their path.

The first units of 3rd Fleet translated down from the Alpha Band into the Korjiar System, enough ships to hold off any force that didn't have them horribly outnumbered, they had pod Battlecruisers, pod Superdreadnoughts, and all three of the completed Saganami-C Heavy Cruisers, with full off-bore capability they had twice the firepower per salvo of any previous comparably sized ship, and with their greater size they could make a Battlecruiser, or even a Battleship think twice about engaging it. There wre enough CLACs in the Fleet to provide a modicum of fighter cover, but the brunt of the fighter engagements would fall on the Huntarians, since LACs were more suited to anti-capship actions as a Gunship analogue. No matter how this worked out the new Naval units of the Terrans would prove their worth here, or they would be utterly slaughtered.

It was below the command bridge of the starcruiser Orion that Darth Necromonius had his private chambers. The room was dark, with only a dim purple orb overhead providing any light as Necromonius sat in meditation. He foresaw battles, terrible battles, the destruction of billions of lives. And yet, at the same time, he saw the rise of a nation, his own. With the dark side on their side, there was no telling where the Bonstocknian race could go. Already, Necomonius had plans underway to finally bring Bonstock into the space age, settling a new found planet millions of light years from earth. But before this lay much darkness, a foul, sinister orgy of death.

Then his mind flashed to something else. Some one, a person, who he knew was due to arrive. The door opened.

"My lord," a voice said.

"Send her in, Captain," Necromonius replied.

"Yes, my lord."

The door opened a few minutes later. Necromonius heard the footsteps, but did not turn. Yet he saw her come.

"I trusted that you would be back on Earth, my dear."

"It seemed like you needed me more here," the woman's voice said. Her hand touched Necromonius on the shoulder, and she knelt beside him.

"You must go back," Necromonius said. "Preparations must be made. The time for the Exodus is coming fast."

"So many people will die... billions, perhaps."

"The means do not concern me. It is the end that matters."

"I'll wait for you, then," she said, saddened. She turned and left.

The shadows rose up. Necromonius saw a shining, brilliant light, but then it became red with blood, until finally only darkness could be seen.

It was the first time a full war cabinet had been assembled for some time since the Empire had gone on a temporary lockdown. Things had slowly returned to normal except that a few key areas had remained secure from the rest of the universe.

Now, everything had once again changed. The Eight had been called into the War Room in Lakfakalae. Reports had steadily been brought back to the Empire from the newly formed Rangers which were proving quite valuable at the moment. Whitestars were seen coming and going frequently through the past week as more and more reports were brought in. Having finally drawn the Emperor's attention, orders were given to Imperial Admiral Abriel Nei Lamlar Gaf'ton to call another war meeting.

So it was that in the month of Roswik that Admiral Trife, Spoor (who had departed from Neo Zeta's tournament), Lexshue (a newly appointed), Wakapale, Rahl, Lord Dusanyu (who was temporarily returning as Admiral until Lafiel returned from her current tour of duty in Neo Zeta), and the ever animated Admiral Bebaus. Gaf'ton had never really approved the appointing of a human as Admiral since Richard would be limited in what ships he could take command of if there ever arose a battle in plane space however unlikely. Nevertheless, there was no one more deserving of it.

The one-eyed burly (for an Abh) Admiral stood at the head of a long table with a tactical display top. He was positioned at the back of the room so he could see everyone when they walked in. His flowing blue cape concealed that command saber that was strapped onto his belt. His golden biwinged tiarra glinted in the light of the room as the first Admiral finally arrived. Admiral Wakapale with her golden eyes and short hair had always brought a smile to the old Abh's face. She was followed closely by Admiral Bebaus who always managed to make the smile disappear. Admiral Spoor and Trife arrived together and what a pair they made. Both were aggressive and their tactics were quite unparalleled though at times unconventional. But that was exactly what tended to separate these two from the rest of the Admirals. The remaining Admirals arrived all in time consisting of Dusanyu, Lexshue, and Richard Rahl. Everyone took a seat at the table while the Imperial Admiral remained standing. "All of you know why we are here. Our Rangers have been scouting around for sometime and have recently discovered two things. One is that the Huntaerian Empire is having a few problems with their citizens. It seems, from what we could learn, is that the leadership has decayed in the hands of a tyrannical ruler. This could be a good oppurtunity for us to usher in a more 'cooperative' leader. The other bit of interesting information that we discovered is that our ally, New Dornalia, is massing a fleet. If it has not already left, their target will be to lend aid to those rising up against the Huntaerian regime."

Gaf'ton looked out across the table to see if there were any questions coming. So far there were none. "The Emperor has instructed me to also assemble a fleet and assist the usurpers in their struggle. The first order of business will be to decide what to compose the fleet with. This will not be a traditional Abh fleet as I do not feel that the large numbers are necessary. I would like your information on what you feel."

Spoor who was never afraid to speak her mind regardless who was speaking, was the first to speak up. "Obviously traditional Star Forces ships will not be able to travel the distance to such a far away nation. That leaves borrowing segments of the Human branch. For this I recommend Lord Rahl's opinion."

Gaf'ton's attention was then turned to Richard in his awkwardly placed golden tiarra. Richard couldn't quite realize why he needed to bother with the thing. "Admirals, I suggest using the Sylvanna as the flagship for this fleet. As for other ships to comprose of the meat, I recommend a mixture of all but mostly coming from the Symphonic Fleet. A fairly large number of Exiled Destroyers, Dissith Cruisers, and Urbanuss Flankers will give a large defense capability should it be needed and with the Sylvanna's large reactor, the EA field will be strong enough to withstand almost any blast. However, I also suggest that this fleet be able to be divided for quick attack missions. For this I would recommend a substantial contigency of Rambirds and Shadow Destroyers. Couple them with the Whitestars and these ships will be able to pop in and out and attack the enemy at will. I would also suggest a strong fighter support not only from the Star Cutters but the Gunstars as well. That then leaves the last remaining component of the fleet and that is the Victory Class Destroyers. I would say that they should remain with the main fleet for an added punch. I would also suggest using the Frontlineships as we have been."

As Richard had continued with his speal, Gaf'ton stood there and finally crossed his arms while listening to it all. "And how many ships do you suggest I assign to this mission?"

Rahl sat there in a pensive pose for a moment. "Let me see. I would recommend at least 20 Rambirds, 40 Exiled Destroyers, 50 Dissith Cruisers, 25 Urbanuss Flankers, the Sylvanna, 35 Victory Class Destroyers, 25 Shadow Destroyers, 50 Whitestars, and about 25 Frontlineships. Of course all of them will have their full fighter contigency. I also believe it would be a wise idea to have supply fleet accompanying them for repairs and such. If more ships are needed we can have them on stand-by."

The Imperial Admiral stood there for a moment thinking over the options. He stood there for a couple of minutes with his chin in his hand. "Alright. We will take Lord Rahl's recommendations on the first fleet's size. This will be a joint operation by myself and Admiral Trife. I would like Lord Rahl here to stand-by with ground forces should a ground battle take place. What can you have on stand-by?"

"The entire D'Haran military will be at your disposale along with the First Phial."

Gaf'ton nodded. "Good. I would like Lord Dusanyu and Admiral Bebaus on stand-by with their fleets. Admiral Wakapale, I would like you and Admiral Lexshue to see to the defenses of our borders."

"Yes sir."

"Admiral Spoor, I want you to see to any matters that come from Neo Zeta. If they show any signs of hostility, I want them dealt with extreme prejudice."

An evil grin twisted her blood lips which made an eiry combination with her red eyes. "It shall be done."

All rose and saluted. The meeting had been concluded and they all knew their duties. The ships that had been recommend by Lord Rahl were fully crewed and armed. Their engines roared to life and moved to make the jump to hyperspace. Lord Rahl was already back in D'Hara seeing to the arrangement of his men and loading them into marine ships. The rest had assembled their fleets and saw to their duties. The Abh were now prepared for war as they marched to see they the fate and doom of many men.

New Leningrad-

Donaldson was in conference with Ma. Both of them had just gotten the reply from the Rebellion, and they had heard the same thing from their sources in the ISB. The rebellion wanted their help, and they wanted them to attack the Aritash System. And, word on the grapevine said the Abh were moving as well. This was good news. The Abh were "friends in socialism," as the propaganda liked to style them, and indeed, they had enjoyed a reputation as reliable, powerful allies with amazing technology. They would need both for the fight ahead.

Ma agreed to move out. Donaldson, always impetous, judged the men ready to go, and Ma was sort of inclined to agree, he toured the ships and interviewed the regular ex-Navy handlers who thought they would do for now. So, Ma walked onto the bridge of the Walken, the most powerful ship in the force, and said, "Helmsman, all ahead warp, set a course for the Aritash System. Comms, tell all ships the same. We move to battle."

The Abe Lincolns thus entered hyperspace.....

About 800 ships were now in Hyperspace from the Abh Empire. 270 ships, not including fighter support, were now on their way to the Huntaerian Civil War. Two Admirals were on board the Sylvanna as they glided through Hyperspace. Both Trife and Gaf'ton were lead by a Ranger who had been there on his many excursions through space while learning the ropes of different types of space craft.

Ashram and Pirotess sat at the rail watching the tactical display map that was in the floor of the ship. Ashram's deep and strong voice drifted back to Gaf'ton as he sat in the command chair while Trife stood at his side with his arms crossed. "Your highness, the system that holds the rebels is only an hour or two away."

Gaf'ton looked over to his Chief of Staff. "Amerylk, send a secure transmission to the Huntaer rebels."

"Yes sir."

Men and women of Huntaer, the Abh Empire has come to aid you in your struggle. I am Imperial Admiral Gaf'ton and my men and I will fight the enemy on any terms that you have need of. It is our desire to link up with our Dornalian bretheren and fight alongside them. If you have need of us elsewhere though, then please direct us and send coordinants.

Near Aritash System, several days later-

The Abraham Lincoln Brigade landed in full force in the area, exiting hyperspace and assembling in a loosely arranged line, with the Walken in the center. The ships then began to move out to the side of Rebel forces in the Aritash System, moving in at full sublight drives-after all, the FTLi field was up.

(OOC here i go!)

Terran prime new union city, war room..

General Carvel rushed in reports in hand he looked around the busy but dim lit room, he rushed over to a large table in a force fielded room, his shoes tapping on the floor of the FDF Emblem.

He walked in saying "Mr president i got those reports you asked, it seems the story of the Huntarian Alliance is moving fast, its becoming deathly unstable "

the young president sighed looking up his gleaming black hair and pale skin showing as the light beamed down on the matalic table were the reports were suddenly dumped down.

He responded in a commanding voice , "I know.. we have to do something , we have many foreign influences and nations intervening, this is going to become a full blown proxy war if we don't step in, and hopefully , we cant let nations mettle in affairs like this, the Huntarian Alliances government seems bent on repressing its people, not to mention they could be a threat later on to us.."

The General sighed and looked over stating "well sir SPCC, and FDF marine command, and the 7th fleet can be ready shortly just give the order.."

Bester kayborn interjected " But what will we tell the public, they will want answers about this"

the president said slapping his hand down "let me think about that, this can mean the entire future of the sector, if we let evil forces or forces that work against our interest gain a foot hold in that nations government, then we are done for.

He sighed and sat back looking towards the UFU Flag, and the Eagle FDF emblem ...

he turned back his black leather chair swiveling as he looked over to the advisors who were all pressuring him to have an answer... He said with standing up looking out "We invade.. and put a stop to this as fast as we can.. i want all 7th fleet forces, and as many infantry/marine divisions on stand by as you need.."

Bester nodded and looked over to the general, "Get our forces ready, get a plan together and make sure we strike hard and fast!"

Carvel nodded and taped out of the room he rushed up to the Holographic phone, and taped the screen on, mean while Rob had rushed out to gather a session of the senate.

Senate chambers:

The President stood up with his black suit and white under shirt shining in the light.

he began to speak "These United States and its democracy, has survived many many years of time, conflict, civil strife, attacks... political back lash so grate any dictator ship would have crumbled , We have always been open to supporting freedom in other nations to the full extent of not Intervening directly when we do not need to, but today is different I come to you and the public to request that we intervene with the full might of the federal military , to support the freedom fighters In the nation known as The Huntarian Alliance noble cause; this is not only about freedom it is about our security, I have information about nations intervening on both sides, mainly to support the oppressive government, and crate a foot hold and make them in to a puppet state, these nations can d damage to the United sates if allowed to do this, So my finally question is, will you alow me as commander in chief to send in our military forces to cleaning this nation of oppression?! you must!"

About 20 minutes later the poll results were in the senate voted by a very narrow margin, 1500/ 1498 .. to alow troops to be sent in... the results were semi gleeing to the president who was at the white house over looking star charts over Huntarian Alliance sectors .

Mean while the 7th fleet and detachments from th 5th, 7th, 10th , and 12th army's, and marine expeditionary force.

Transports and ships rumbled along as there gleaming grey and black hulls floated along, the massive ships hull lights blinking off and on as there forms shimmered along the dark void of space, the ominous looking ships came to a stop suddenly.

Space marshal Brian shepherd stood over the USS Allegiances bridge and sensors he looked down watching his officer walk around rather quickly, they worked silently and quickly as the mood became tense, the some what older man sighed, his salt pepper hair and blue, and black uniform gleaming as his some what tired rough skin face, looked over to the monitors and scans, the con officer looked back his chair swiveling he stated "sir, we have an incoming comm from FDF command"

The admiral spoke in a deep but commanding, "put it on" his face was serious almost no emotion what so ever had shown he looked with a professional expression to the screen voice

CNC Adrian hatway popped up, she was almost as old, she spoke rather seriously "Marshal.. brain... we received orders coming down from the pipe line its a go , i cannot press your speed in this matter any more nor your tactical ability, we only have 260 ships in this matter, we may get more we may not there is no way of knowing, i wish you luck.. Hatway out.." the com cut and Brian looked up to the screen sighing " well... helm engage..."

The huge ships in the medium 260 ship fleet all of a sudden were engulfed in a huge white, black and blue , there massive hulls disappeared with an instant as they shimmered in to temporal drives .

(ooc i have so few ships because the ships i use are so aubserdly powerful that any more would be a god mode, even though i have a huge ship count in my enticer fleet any way is there a rally point were my fleet can go, until i receive an answer they will be in transit.)

If I say 'slugs cutting through the fighters' or even 'the rounds striking with terrible force' that's just me being descriptive. Since in space it's unlikely that dodging is possible, except in gross mismatches of weaponry like a spinal mount capship weapon facing off against a fighter wing, I may sometimes word things as if they had already struck. This does not mean they have struck, but simply use of creative language.)

The preparations were progressing nicely, and forces were starting to arrive. It was now possible and practical to commit forces to the rebel assaults on the various systems, though most likely only one at a time.

The expeditionary forces had three smaller fleets seperated from them, all different sizes. The fleets were, of course, temporary and somewhat volatile, prone to merging and dividing as needed.

Alpha Expeditionary Fleet
12x Crusader PhAL* Torchships
2x Saru Torpedo Torchships

Bravo Expeditionary Fleet
24x Crusader PhAL* Torchships
16x Saru Torpedo Torchships
2x Panther PhAL Frigates (Torchship)

Charlie Expeditionary Fleet
10x Manticore PhAL* Cruisers
8x Galileo Battleships

*Phased Array Laser.

Of course, with the FTLi fields, no one was getting in or out anytime soon.

A message was passed to Magriel, informing him of limited force availability. The Expeditionary fleet had been committed and accepted - they were now directly under the command of the rebels until countermanding orders were recieved from Upsilon Andromedae.
Relative Liberty

The Libertarian 2nd Fleet. Ten Task Forces, a hundred capital ships and a thousand escort craft. The remnants of the Imperial Navy of the Old Empire was what had been keeping the Stellar Empire safe for the centuries of unrest it had experienced, it was also the main force in the Dictator's campaign against the independant warlords and hundreds of worlds feared the sight of the large, gray cylinders. Appearing out of nowhere, dropping out of hyperspace at the edge of the system, the Task Force would form up and place themselves in low orbit around the planet, which would be bombarded into submission or annihilation.
This time, though, it was different. The Libertarian fleet no longer set sail against enemies from the Great Civil War, nor were they hunting pirates or outlaws in the fringe worlds of Libertarian space. This time they were heading for foreign land, to aid a friend and ally, and to win glory for the divine Dictator. It is no surprise then, that for the first time since the Falconmen Uprising, the great battleships of the Libertarian navy had been brought forward. Two thousand metres long, carrying enough strategic warheads to obliterate whole planets and civilizations, these craft had long laid domrant in drydocks. Now they would spread the glory of the Stellar Empire, now they would wage war against those who incur the wrath of the Dictator, and nothing would stand in their way and survive.

The 2nd Fleet had been pulled out of the hotbeds of the Stellar Empire, the borders and fringe worlds, the Falconmen's home systems and the last strongholdds of the warlords. They had been replaced by the 3rd Fleet (Reserve), as to maintain Libertarian control of those provinces. The 2nd Fleet had been pulled back to the Core Worlds, where thirty-five battalions, 350 000 men all in all, a weak force by Libertarian standards, had been loaded unto the invasion carrers, the mainstay of any offensive Libertarian force. Admiral Blood-Fang, hero of the first Falconmen Uprising, and victor of the Battle of Raska VI, had been made commanding officer of the 1st Expeditionary Force, consisting of the 2nd Fleet and thirty-five battalions of the 2nd Army Division.
Now his valiant force speeded through hyperspace, en route to help their brothers-in-arms, the empire of Huntaer, in their struggle.
''Sir, approaching Aritash. Will drop out of hyperpsace in fifteen minutes,'' reported the technical officer, his gray uniform identifying him as a member of the ship's Engineer Corps.
''Prepare the fleet for immediate action, every man to his station. Send a message to any Huntaerian forces in the area, and notify them of our presence.''
''Aye, sir!''

The rapid deceleration shook the bridge of the command vessel, as the interdiction fields of New Dornelia pulled the fleet out of hyperspace too soon. The usual elongated tube of reality, trademark of Libertarian hyperspace technology, was distorted and torn asunder. Scrambling his fleet to meet this new threat, the Admiral formed the ships up in a traditional defensive position: carriers and invasion carriers in the centre, protected by battleships in groups of four. They were protected by battlecruisers and heavy cruisers, as the destroyers formed a shield against the enemy. The missile cruisers and frigates, however, were kept in reserve to be able to respond to enemy attacks and launch hit-and-run tactics against advancing enemy ships.
''Send a message to Huntaer, tell that we have reached the system, but have encountered enemy forces of unknown strength. Interdiction fields are up, so we are approaching the enemy at sub-light speeds.''
''Yes sir!''

Encrypted transmission to Huntaerian forces:
''Hail, forces of Huntaer! I am Amiral Blood-Fang, commadning officer of the Libertarian 1st Epxeditionary Force, which has been sent to aid you. With me I have an Army contingent of 350 000 troops, to be deployed at your leisure. The system of Aritash is however occupied by enemy forces, with interdiction field generators. The Libertarian fleet is at your command, nonetheless''

Open transmission to enemy forces in the area:
''This is the commadning officer of the Libertarian 1st Expeditionary Force. You are to cease all hostile activites at once, and return home. All rebels in the area will surrender and turn themselves in to nearest governement official. Failure to comply will be met with utmost brutality. You have been warned.''

"Sir, we are getting reports that both the Abh Empire and New Dornelia are joining the rebel side in the Huntaerian Civil War."

"Huntaer, Huntaer....What do we know about them?"

"Not much. Only that they are currently a Sith run member nation of the Galactic Empire, are amoung the nations that use towerless star destroyers, and are currently experiencing a Civil War by a Jedi led faction."

"Interesting. We'll have to do some crew reshuffling, but I think we can aide the Abh and New Dornelia with their aide of these Jedi led rebels."

"Sir?"

"Just thinking aloud, Captain. Just thinking aloud."

"Ahh, for a moment there, I thought you were considering joining the fight."

"I was, and I still am."

"But, sir! We will be seriously outnumbered."

"Are those new, refit Necropolis's ready?"

"Yes, sir. All one-hundred-eighty-nine are complete and awaiting their shakedown cruises as soon as we get enough people to actually crew them. We still have other ships in Altera's orbit under automated control that need crews as well. We are producing ships faster than we can crew them, sir."

"I know. That's the price of having to be able to defend ourselves. That, and those stations up there take up a lot of personnel as well."

"Agreed, sir. Are you suggesting what I think you are?"

"I don't know what you think I'm suggesting, Captain. Though, I know I am thinking about reassigning some of the extra crew from those defense stations to the new Necropolis class ships."

"Ahhh, I see where you're going. I'll start the neccessary paperwork, General."

"Good work, Captain. I will await them on my desk."

Exterior - Alteran Star System - 5 weeks later

The 189 new Necropolis class (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10599034&postcount=46) heavy warships had been moved into a triangular formation, minus the tip. Unlike the original Goa'uld design, these ships had been refit with modern SeaQuestian tech and systems. Soon, the I.S.S. Necropolis herself, a ship, while similar in design to the other Necropolis class ships, was very different in means of offensive and defensive capabilities. After the last resuffled crew member had gotten aboard the last Necropolis, all 190 ships moved into the Hyperspace Jump Gate outside the Alteran star system's Oort Cloud and vanished into Hyperspace, en route for one of the Gates in the Milky Way Galaxy.

Again, it looks like you're either going to defend or attack H.A.

Also, just so you know, no one has any star charts of Huntarian Alliance sectors.

1) There is only 5 systems ~ 1 sector.
2) If Star Charts were easily availalbe on the Alliance, then the Empire would've easily taken them out centuries ago.
3) Even though the Alliance has five official sectors, several more are in the Unknown Regions. Unbarable to navigate through. No recordings.

Admiral Groman looked out of his command ship, an old Goliath Class Star Destroyer. He arrived to the Korjiar System to find that though half of his fleet already was there, the Mehemish were there also.

"Damn it to hell. Comm, was our last transmission sent out to the Sequestians before we dropped out of hyperspace?"

"Yes admiral."

"Where was The Abh Empire sent to again?"
The Comm's officer handed Groman a datapad.

When the Alliance ships arrived, the Terrans would be waiting. They didn't have the ability to bring any sort of fortifications, but they had brought several Minelayers, packed to the gills woith Missile Pods, and they were in the process of seeding the outer system, while the LAC Squadrons were deployed and set to come back online when the time was right. So long as they weren't active they were almost undetectable, and the Cimeterres and Shrikes were mutually supportive, Cimeterres with the ability to engage fighter swarms, keeping the Shrikes safe until they could engage the opponents CapShips and flush their magazines.

OOC: You do know they were already there and the Empire called you in as a form of backup right?

IC:
Brithsmoth's Assimilator TSD soon arrived in the Bunitash system to find that the rebel's were already attacking several planets. It looked as though they already owned them.

"Ready the Mini-Axiel cannons. Target the nearest Rebel ship and fire once it's been charged. Prepair for planetary assault."

IC:

As the 3rd Fleet ripped into the system it was obvious that things were already well under way. More ships than they would have expected to see were in evidence, and it was obvious that some of them were NOT Huntarian. There was only one real choice now.

"Start the Music. Go to maximum military power. Fire when we reach one light minute."

"Aye ma'am. List?"

"Let's hear Warp Pigs this time."

As the Terran vessels brought their wedges up to full strength, running at the ragged edge of their inertial compensators ability, and occasionally exceeding it by a little, the SD(p)s were moving at something like 500(I'll get exact numbers in a few minutes) gravities, and the rest of the Fleet followed suit, keeping them together was important. The SD(p)s were already rolling patterns of pods, and the first volley would be simply devastating with the ability of Apollo Missiles to simply dodge most countermissile fire. Once that was done they would go to maximum rate of fire, shooting their supply of missile pods dry in a bit over an hour, and pumping 20,000 missiles, per Superdreadnought, into space before they ran out. Things were looking up.

The LACs were scrambling, there were already some 600 in space, and there were still squadrons deploying from their CLACs. The Cimeterres would lead the charge, followed up by the anti-capship Shrikes and their more powerful, but less numerous warheads. There was another model of LAC recently put into service, but they hadn't been able to get any of them put into service with the expiditionary fleets before they deployed.

"That would be correct, sir," said the Ensign handing the Lieutenant General a PADD with the message on it.

"Interesting. Very interesting. Anyone know where this 'Korjiar star system' is or who this 'Admiral Groman' character is?"

"Not really, sir. You do have to recall that this is technically our first contact with either the Huntaerian Empire or the Huntaerian Alliance."

"Good point, Jacobs."

"Thank-you, sir."

"We'll just have to get a map of this 'Aphotic Galaxy' from our contacts in the Milky Way Galaxy."

"Aye, sir."

"What is our current E.T.A.?"

"Five hours before we reach the wormhole to the Milky Way, another hour to get all the ships through, and then an unkown amount of time to get directions."

Uber-Super Secret IC: Hyperspace - Exterior

Unkown to anyone aboard any of the Necropolis class vessels in the fleet, a group of cloaked ships were following along a few kilometers behind. They would only show up on sensors as gravitational eddies right now. The fact that such eddies were common in Hyperspace, they would be undetected.

A message was sent back to the Rebels that the message was read and understood. With the coordinants for the Lorita System in the Abh computers, the fleet was quickly on their way.

Amerylk made her way to the bridge to stand beside the Imperial Admiral. "Sir, the fleet has changed courses and we are now enroute for the Lorita System. We have been instructed to link up with a Councilor Magriel."

Gaf'ton grunted. "You don't mean to tell me that we are fighting alongside a bureaucrat do you?"

She shook her short blue locks. "No sir. I got the impression that he was more than a councilor and is quite capable in a military situation."

The Admiral returned his attention to the tactical map in the floor alongside Trife and Ashram. "Was there anything else?"

"It seems the system that we are going for is essential to the war effort. This is a fight that we cannot lose."

Trife smirked and looked up. "We are Abh. We will not lose."

Ashram spoke up for the first time in a while. "Arrogance like that will be your downful."

The two looked stares for a moment, both shooting daggers at the other. The uncomfortable silence was broken when Gaf'ton cleared his throat. "Ashram."

"Highness."

"I need you and Pirotess to take a ship and return to D'Hara and brin Lord Rahl's men up. The First Phial will be needed before this is all over and I would like them close by along with their armor support."

"It will be down." Ashram thumped a fist to the breast plate of his black armor and walked off with Pirotess.

Gaf'ton turned back to Amerylk. "Distance?"

"Not far now sir."

"Very good. I want to find that councilor first and make contact with him to coordinate our efforts. I don't want to jump in the middle of mine field without the proper intelligence. Keep a sharp eye for any readings of theirs."

"Yes sir."

The Abh war fleet and its supply fleet drifted ever closer to the Lorita System as they searched for Magriel with who they were supposed to team up with.

Receiving no answer from the enemy forces in the area, the Libertarian fleet approached the outskirts of the Aritash systems. The three task forces materialised into the Bunitash system at the outer edges of the Faster Than Light Interdictor - possibly somewhat late. Brithsmoth's and the Toopsian Fleet had already beaten them there.

Nothing to be done about it now - they still hadn't figured out a way of dodging casuality.

"The enemy reinforcements are already here, Move Move Move!"

The three task forces headed straight for the battlezone at maximum impulse speed. The Battleships activated their FTLi units, just to avoid problems later.

All ships cruiser and up would be activating their FTLi in every battle they participated in, except where explicitly stated. (There. No problems later, now.)

Morr pointed at the newly arrived enemy fleet, rather quickly Orky Weapons were pointed in a general direction close to where the enemy had jumped in, small torpedoes began to launch in the random directions they had been scattered in, although to the Orks this was a launch to any other observant viewer it was little more than many high explosive pieces of scrap falling off and then flying off in an erratic flight path, the batteries of the other two smaller hulks also opened up releaseing thier own bulks of scrap.

As the ships hurtled in they were struck by the 'missiles' and took a fair amount of armour damage. Whilst this form of attack would normally be swatted by lasers, the requirements of maximum impulse involved minimal shields, sensors and no weapons. The shields would stop nothing larger than a dust cloud.

The ships rocked as their drives attempted to compensate for the debris, and more than a few struck the randomly flying missiles and took some damage as a result. The Battleships could not help but hit some of the metal, and took considerable frontal armour damage. One of them lost a few sensors as the stores were struck, though the hole was hastily patched up when the crew awoke.

However, this also proved to be a sign they were within combat range, and the ships began slowing to combat speeds - 0.01c. The crews leapt from their acceleration tanks and engaged the full array of weaponry, the laser fire now slicing through the missiles.

The sensors were being fitted to booms and they would quickly have a bead on the Toopsian ships, as they had now on the Hakurabi.

Morr ordered, no Ork captain dare use Orkish lasers, more chance of annihilating your own ship then the enemy, make do with the ordanance on-board, a swath of Gortzk class Fighter Bombers made their way out of the hanger decks, the Torpedoes slowed to a halt as the fighters made their way towards the enemy fleet.

(OOC: Incidentally, would anyone know what a four-man command core be? It's not nearly enough to be a bridge, but it's a tad large for cockpit...)

Bridge of the UAMV Galileo
The torpedoes had ended as abruptly as they came.

The signals officer piped up, 'We've got incoming contacts, looks to be fighters. Judging by the extra mass they're fighter-bombers.'

'Damn, those aren't going to be quite so easy to stop. Pull Bravo back to our position and get Alpha to try and take out the docking bays, we need all hands!'

All movements in the area, were, of course, obvious. As were the Toopsian's.

The fleets were still inexorably closing, but neither was in main cannon range.

'Cockpit' of the UAMV Crosier
The four-man ships were more than equipped to swat fighters should they come close, their meagre Twelve Phased Array emplacements were more than enough to combat any fighters.

'Alpha group, move in and take out those hangars! We'll hold off the fighters when they come.'

'Affirmative, moving out.'

The ships geared up to 0.02c, taking advantage of their smaller size and cockpit-style command centre design's acceleration gel (something impossible to do with something even as large as a frigate) to increase the velocity to twice as much as usual. The enormous holographic dome dominating their view gave them a lot of information, although this required years of training to understand.

The Sarus had only four emplacements, as they needed to carry a goodly amount of torpedoes to cause the real heavy damage. Lasers were all well and good if you were trying to drain the shields or melt through the armour, but enough torpedoes with laser support and you could cause a lot of chaos with the K-Torpedoes.

They moved even as the fighter-bombers came across to their fleet. A quick strafe with laser fire and they moved on, taking the counterfire as they went. (Assuming you choose to shoot as they pass. If not, I'll edit.)

Gunna Boyz rushed into place behind turret mounted Sluggas and began to fire aimlessly at any moving object, no doubt they were too far out of range to fight the enemy fighters but at least they couldn't harm any friendly vessel, around the Hulks there were great waving streams of golden bolts as the guns let out.

The clam dark void of space, was shattered and tarred apart as the some what large fleet of huge ships shimmered in to normal space, there bodes engulfed in a large white, blue and black aroura . The Federal fleet had arrived Lorita, Th lead Federal Ship sent out a some what ominous message

"This is the USS Allegiance leader of the Federal intervention fleet , all hostile forces are ordered to stand down immediately"

Another message was sent to the abh fleet from the same ship

the huge ominous looking ships flew over in to a battle formation, there dark grey and stealthy hulls berley gleaming in the sun light, the ships opened up there huge weapon ports, turrets, missile turrets, beam turrets and VLS Tubes all opened up, the massively huge fleet had more than enough fire power to take on a fleet even Four times it size.

The commander on the lead ship stood up and looked over to his tactical officer, saying "All ships launch fighters!"

(OOC: They're not really fighters, you know. Just so you understand they work like small ships - shields, lasers, everything.

The cockpit? I'm not familiar with either of those examples, but it's something like a sphere on an axis with self-sufficient chairs facing towards a frontal holographic display as well as the dome. But each member has a full set of controls, with their complexities - it's a lot more complex than a fighter so there has to be damage control, heat control, etc.

It's also a lot larger than a fighter. It's around two to three times the size of one.)

'Incoming projectile fire, low speed. Keep moving, we need to cut damage. Hit 'em with a volley.'

The fighters' slugga fire clipped the armour and made a few dents. The armour managed to deflect much of it, however.

A volley of sixteen torpedoes were let off in the general direction of the Toopsian ships.

Of course, since the ships were torchships, not fighters, they could be aimed at from a closer distance. Their enormous trails of superheated plasma gave even optical targetting computers a chance - a small one, due to the enormous distances involved, but one nonetheless. Then again, it was also a bit dangerous to get too close for the same reason.

(OOC: just cause this is bugging me, the possessive of Toops is Toophian, should really have said somthing earlier and I don't blame you for the assumption, but keep with Toopsian, it's a sort of racial slur)

The thick plates of welded together junk meant that though the torpedoes made a rather large dent in the armour it was easily repairable, small Goblins began to pop out of holes and jetted slowly round to the worse affected areas and began to take scrap from other places and weld onto the damaged areas, of course doing this whilst under fire was rediculously difficult and many Goblins lost their nerve and found themselves floating off into space with the rest of the junk.

Inside was not faring very well, fires had popped up and electrics wer going haywire, "As soon as dem foightas reach close 'nuff, lornch tha Junk Bombs!" Junk bombs were stored up pieces of scrap metal which was too bad for ship-working, these large boulders were released on tethers out into space to make it difficult for fighters and boarding ships.

(OOC: Right, thanks for clearing it up. I'll refer to them as 'Toophian' when not in dialogue. Mind you, they're [the torpedoes] kinetic-kill - If they pick up enough speed they just make a) a big crater or b) punch straight through. They're not explosive - no point.)

The Junk Bombs were surprisingly effective, creating the equivalent of an asteroid field around the Hulks. One Crusader was unable to turn fast enough and exploded into a number of very fast moving chunks. Several struck others and two further ones spiralled out of control - one smashed into another junk bomb and the other slammed into the hulk (they're close enough that I can say that, right?). By this time the others had gotten the point, and slowed down to only 0.01c.

The Torpedo Torchships turned their batteries towards the hulks and sent volleys of torpedoes into what looked like docking bays, though the haphazard construction made this uncertain. The Crusaders on the other hand spent their time trying to melt the junk bombs in vain - eventually they figured out that if they cut the tethers they could use their fusion drives to shove them towards their originators.

This impromptu weaponry was, of course, dangerous to use and a fourth ship pushed for too long and plummeted into a second junk bomb. On the other hand, the effectiveness of white hot metal asteroids was undeniable.

"Sah, ehay's usin' aah Junk Bombs 'gainst us!" There were loud thuds as pieces of Junk smashed across the hull, "Remoat Detunayt tha stray Bombs!" In the core of each of the giant asteroids was a High Explosive device, the weakly held together Bombs burst outwards showering both Fighter and Hulk with junk.

The hanger bays had lost communications and so where fighting off batches of enemies with no assistance, shots smashed across the kinetic shields, only meant to keep space out and ships in, a further smash of torpedoes was all it took for one of the bays to lose shields, the Orcs and goblins were drained out and floated in space until death.

His feet rumbling along in his shoes, the same in peak colour as his robes, Totalius was one never for anything on time, for anything that would arrive justly and quickly enough to be one to suffer failure and loss with his men. Then again, his men were never the ones to die. His fingers clenched, leaned forwards slightly, and walking at a slow, edgy pace, he had tasted chaos seldom now, his mind and vigour once a great shattered shell of power, now with a source of its own, sustaining him with every breath and whim. In other words, he had no more need to fight and slaughter, to kill and main and wound, but for all sakes, he did so to feed his power, his hungry essence that would ravage him if he had not. Along his academy, the tall, arched and spiralled Minuras Academy, tall windows showing fiery light to shine through, like an apocalyptic cathedral, a lone figure walking down the steps to finally reach his destination. Eyes non-existent, gauntlets covering unseen hands and a cape that adorned his nearly out of existence body, Totalius was a great and tall, towering menace, his voice a shatter of an icy wind in the midst of a summer day, the contrast so great of black and white.

Walking along, Totalius finally reached the end of the walkway, the pillars twisting along as it seemed to follow him, torchlight illuminating his way across to a wooden door, occasional chatter behind it and the usual shrieking of unwanted ideas. Entering a large gallery, with a spiralling staircase and a giant weakly lighted dome decorating its top, Totalius looked around as the Lords fell silent in his quay. His search scanning, his fingers rattling, he only nodded as his lightsaber perched with delicate fingers on his belt.

His fingers lifted up, crackling with an energy unseen, every Lord began to see the small twisted galaxy around them, a hologram that entrenched in his fingers, deep blue and bright red. “Our friends need help.” Totalius said, as the others murmured.

“But not all is all well, for we have our own borders to know of. What of the occurrences in the Vigozim?” Totalius asked his Lords, as they hesitated in ill gotten news, the machine Lords clicking their metal fingers, awaiting for the reply to be initiated. “What of our Vigozim men?” He asked once more, his mind intent, his thoughts strong, and the purplish tentacles of hatred and hunger flicking out through his eye sockets, his skin bone white behind his skull mask.

“Lord Totalius, Vigozim is not ready for a war.” A tall lord replied, harsh and mean expressions cut into his face, scars and tattoos adorning his visage, gruesome and grotesque, his eyes a leery view and his fingers thin and wiry. In a thin and long robe, he spoke in a tone of great imperial power, as if he was a great commander, but he was simply a Lord. Totalius groaned, as the Lords cowered in fear, sitting down, with only the Machine Lords standing up, their chattering amongst themselves.

Turning to the talking Machine Lords, Totalius cleared what was left of his fleshy throat. “Degos Khran.” Totalius said, awaiting a response from them all. Clicking about, their eyes machines, their bodies a sleek hunchback form, entirely composed of metal, their fingers like minute tweezers and tiny claws situated on razor sharp arms. These were the great masters of the Totalian Military, the minds of the robotic majority of Totalius’ empire. A large group of scavengers draining entire planets to fuel their massive fleet, nothing was more dangerous than these, and they clicked and chattered amongst themselves in distilling wrath.

Turning to Totalius was the Great Machine, a larger machine named Enghuis Kazath, a dangerous and sadistic machine with no equal in its macabre ideals and finely crafted features. “Deploy all forces. Ignore the Legions in Vigozim.” It spoke with an authority, as Totalius shook his head.

“Do you not understand, Kazath? Vigozim is our Lord stature stronghold. We have to deploy forces to Vigozim. If it is unavailable to be used, then we cannot deploy war.”

“It is for the good of the land and the empires.”

“No empire works on foolish manoeuvres. I thought such machinations were to be in their thoughts, perfect.”

“Truly then your mind is broken, Lord Totalius.”

“Well, Kazath, this makes our situation doubled, for you are in need of repairs.”

“Indeed you think so, but it is not. Vigozim is not needed in the compaign.”

“You may take your fleet’s condition to welfare, but this is my empire. You listen to me, and I will relay the orders, understood?” Totalius asked, his fingers on his lightsaber, as the other Totalian Lords agreed, the Mechinus Lords ignoring their trivial barbarity.

“Then know that your economical powers are weakening. Gain the recollection of trade, not isolation.” Those words stopped Totalius and his men in their tracks, and the Mechinus in their geared greed saw it as such.

“What is the dealing on this?” Totalius asked to Kazath, whom did not reply for a while.

For a small while, be waited, but finally the words had reached Kazath, and he was ready to answer – yet his eyes still showed the blank emptiness he had always shown before. “The fleet must be commenced.” He said, with a tone of impatience.

“Very well. They will arrive.” Totalius commanded, to the murmuring of the Lords about in his large winding chamber.

'They're detonating the junk bombs!'

'Get out of there, we'll make another pass!'

The exploding junk bombs annihilated two more Crusaders, which spiralled into other junk bombs. One of the gunners managed to get lucky with the sluggas and a seventh torchship exploded into a ball of rapidly expanding gases.

As the ships fled they cut through as many of the tethers as possible - no sense leaving them to be used in the next pass. They now knew there was some sort of explosive in the junk bomb cores - they could use torpedoes to destroy them.

A final volley of torpedoes was fired at the various visible turrets. The ships turned some distance away and came back, ready to strike at the hangars once again.

'We've got to hit them with everything we've got - there's not going to be a third pass. Good luck.'

The Saru fired volleys into the surviving hangar as fast as possible, while the Crusader used its lasers to try and cut lines across the layers of junk - when the main task force came closer, the bombardment would cause a lot more damage.

There would be no tomorrow for these ships.

They then moved in faster and closer, pushing into the System. Ma asked what their ETA was. The helmsman replied, "We have 40 minutes, sir."

"Sir, we just picked up an out-going transition to a Fedral fleet. We have a lock on the couniclor's position."

Both Gaf'ton and Admiral Trife whirled around from the tactical display map. "Admiral Trife, get to your ship. The rest of the fleet is to prepare to exit Hyperspace at once except for the Frontlineships. Let them remain here and we shall call them when we need them."

Trife quickly sped out off the bridge and onto a shuttle where he was quickly taken to his flagship the Keldeij which had been refitted for Hyperspace travel.

Imperial Admiral Gaf'ton returned to the command chair and sat down. "Prepare for a formal entry into normal space."

The darkness of space was shortly ripped apart by multiple gateways into Hyperspace. The ominous golden glow gave way to the Abh fleet that had assembled. Dissith Cruisers, Urbanuss Flankers, Exiled Destroyers, Rambirds, Shadow Destroyers, Whitestars, Gunstars, and Victory Destroyers had all arrived in their full glory. The Sylvanna and Keldiej lead the way and brought the fleet to bear.

"All ships are to prepare for an Abh battle. Spread EA fields."

The fleet that had once been in a broad formation now contracted somewhat. Lights began to flare up and spread over every ship in the fleet. For a moment they were shrouded in a grey mist and then nothing.

"Sir, EA field has been activated."

Gaf'ton nodded at Amerylk. "Send a message to the councilor and inform him of our arrival."

Lord Rahl sat at the bridge of one of two Eclipse Star Destroyers that were being delivered to the Huntarian rebels along with thirty Imperial Star Destroyers. It had taken the entire muster of the First Phial to get his flotilla out of the Empire and on its way to the rebels.

"Is everything ready Cara?"

"Yes Lord Rahl. All eventualities are in place and accounted for. General Meiffert is aboard the other Eclipse." Her face went slight distraught, for a Mord-Sith.

Richard looked over to her and smiled. "Don't worry Cara. The General is a good man and a fine soldier. He will be just fine."

Cara's skin tight red leather outfit creaked as she shifted her weight and nodded.

"My Lord, we are approaching the Rirutu system."

Richard let out a sigh. Never a break. "Take us in."

The entire Star Destroyer fleet exited from light speed and slowed to a hault.

21-03-2006, 17:16
Around 45 minutes after being pulled out from hyperspace, the Libertarian fleet had had a visual of the outermost planet of the Aritash system. A small planet of stone and ice, it was too far away from the Aritash star to harbour any forms of life.
''Helmsman,'' said the Admiral, addressing the Chief Navigator, one Captain Fast-Paw.
''Aye, sir?'' he replied, snapping into attention, raising his clenched fist in a salute.
''Slow the ship down to 52 per cent present speed at my command, I want the fighters fully deployed before I venture into this system.''
''Aye, sir!
Admiral Blood-Fang then turned to his right, where the communications group were.
''Sergeant of Communication, have the rest of the fleet slow down to 52 per cent of present speed. Let the Bridge Lieutenants and Sergeant stand by for further orders, they should be ready to attend to a holographic meeting at any time.
''Helmsman, you may proceed according to my previous order.''
With these orders given, the bow thrusters were engaged and the flagship, the battleship Abomination, slowed down in accordance to Newton's first law of inertia. The rest of the fleet's ships did the same, and in just under two minutes the entire fleet had nearly halved its speed.
As the fleet orbited the small planet on the far edges of the Aritash system, the fighters were circling the fleet, fomring a periphery of ships that would ward of any enemy attacks before they could reach the core of the 2nd Fleet.

In his meeting room, the Admiral revealed his plan to the other commanders, the Bridge Lieutenants, who commanded the capital ships, and the Bridge Sergeants, who were in command of the escorts.
''Gentlemen, we are not alone in this system. The interdiction field clearly shows that enemy forces are present, and have been so for quite some time. If they have not already detected our presence, they will do so soon enough. The fighters are being launched, and as soon as they are I am planning to send forward the frigates to scout for enemy ships. Once they have encountered enemy forces, they will not stand and fight, but return immediately and report. Our main forces will then approach the enemy from multiple directions, in a Z43-manouver, a ''multi-pincer'' as some of the grunts calls it, and attack the enemy. Battleships and battlecruisers will focus on enemy carriers first and foremost, and, should none be found, enemy battleships. Heavy cruisers will attack enemy fighters and escort ships, while our escorts' prime targets are the fighters and any troop carriers the enemy might have.''
''Wouldn't the enemy be alerted to our presence if they detected our frigates?'' objected a young Bridge Lieuteneant, fresh out of the academy. Blood-Fang smiled on the inside, his unconventional tactics, that is to not scout the area with ones entire force, were still not accepted at the Empire's military academies.
''I trust that the long-range sensors our frigates are equipped with will allow them to detect the enemy well before they detect them. Even if they do, it will take them some time to prepare all their forces for combat, unless they have done so already, in which case they already know of our presence. If the frigates are not detected, or are detected but the enemy is not prepared for battle, we will have the upper hand as we can sweep in and strike against an unarmed foe with all our might.''
''Therefore'', he continued with a louder voice, ''I ask you go to these points,'' pointing to nine spots on the approximate star charter the navigation crew had put together after scanning the system.
''One task force per zone will be enough, while I and the Abomination will remain here. Any questions? No? Good! Gentlemen, you are dismissed and may carry out your orders.''

Half an hour later:

''Sir, the fighters have been launched according to orders.''
''Good. Send forward the frigates, and have them scout the system for enemy presence.''
Two hundred metres long, steel gray with a long range sensor disc mounted atop the bridge. The Juvenile class cruisers weren't pretty, but they had served the Empire well during the border conflicts with the independant warlords. Now they hurried off deeper into the ssytem, to search for any signs of enemy activity. Behind them the Task Forces of the 1st Expeditionary were redeploying to their assigned zones, where they would wait for the order to attack.

The lone remaining Crusader had taken considerable damage, and was missing all but a single emplacement as a result of the hail of slugs.

The crusader turned and headed out of the system at maximum impulse, to jump before the frigates arrived. It would be playing no further part in this engagement, nor in any other, for quite some time.

There was a gut wrenching rip as time wound backwards, back to the point where the fighter-bombers and the torchships passed.

The slugs bounced off the armour of the torchships.

"Magriel sir! The Fedral Union has arrived and is ready

"Councilor! Another message. Seems to be from the Abh Empire."

"Well give it here."

Greetings Councilor Magriel. This is Imperial Admiral Gaf'ton of the Abh Empire. We have come at the instructions of your master, Jorrus, to assist you in whatever way we can. We are standing by awaiting your instructions.

"Good. Send a transmission of the following: 'we request for you to begin to line your ships up behind ours as a form of back up should we feel the need to retreat. Then, send your troops to Quapital, the capital planet of the colonies. We shall make an assault there while we wait for the enemy to arrive.'"

"Message sent. I hope they understood that," said the Comm officer.

"Get Admiral Craimorn up here."

"Craimorn? Why?"

"I'm the only qualified 'general' here in this sector for our forces. I'm going to the planet's surfface to lead our troops."

"Aye Councilor."

"General, now comm. General," at that, Magriel marched off the bridge of the Freedom's Cry to his personal shuttle, which he flew to the planet's surfface. Suddenly, the comm officer had a feeling that he wasn't going to be seeing Magriel for the rest of the war.

The Alliance's Base was buisy with life, however Councilor Melisha was one of the few who was bored with her assignment from Jorrus and Magriel. She couldn't survive on the font lines anywayseven if she wanted to go. She should be greatfull for just being allive, after witnessing the colapse of the Republic she had loved and protected for two thousand years fall to Trilkan, Deshoonde and the rest of the minions.

An communication's officer who was stationed with her looked up from his station, "Ma'am? Communication's chatter from the Abh Empire."

"Hmm? Relay the message for me will you?"

This is Lord Rahl of the Abh Empire here to deliver your order of two Eclipse Star Destroyers and thirty Imperial Star Destroyers. We also have a full contigency of marines from D'Hara as well should the need for a ground battle arise or immediate need for these ships to be placed into action.

"Yes.... It's about time. We need those Eclipse SSD's. Prepair them for war. We're almost ready to make another assault incase the Alliance falls back."

Ma's helmsman said, "Comrade! Enemy ships detected! We have friendlies coming in too."

Ma said, "Hmm....do we have People's Hammer Torpedoes ready?"

The man said, "Yes, Comrade Admiral."

Ma then said, "Move in closer to the enemy. Then, alert the friendlies we are using antimatter torpedoes. Then, fire at will."

A reply of "Aye," came, and the Abe Lincolns began their own hunt for the enemy. They assembled into box formations to provide an interlocking field of fire, and moved together, ships some distance apart, but not too far. Gaf'ton walked over to the railing and looked down at the tactical map. "Show me."

The map quickly changed from the current planet they were out to a depiction of their next location. His command saber was still in his right hand while he tapped the blade in his left while he thought of a battle strategy. Blue fabric whirled up behind him as he came to a decision. "I want Admiral Trife to remain behind in the Keldeij. He will command the entire contigent of Victory Class Destroyers and Shadow Destroyers. I want half of the Rambirds, Frontlineships, and Whitestars to remain here for his support. The rest will accompany the main fleet and begin an assault on Quapital."

"It shall be done your Highness."

The bulk of the Abh fleet slipped back and opened a veil into Hyperspace and began their march to Quapital. Less than half of the fleet remained behind but it was more than enough to provide sufficient cover for the Huntarian fleet along with the Fedral fleet.

Admiral Trife was quick to whip his fleet into shape and prepare an adequete defense. "Well we were left in charge of this sector. Move the Whitestars to the front line and make sure the Frontlineships still have a lock on our position. I want the Rambirds and Shadow Destroyers in support. The Victory Destroyers will be a fall back rally point and we can always move them forward for added firepower. Issue the order."

The Lasers impacted on the shields of two cruisers and anyone watching was treated to a magnificent flourish of colours as the lasers were converted to harmless visible light (I *know*, but I'm referring to re-radiating it as non-focussed light) - It was to be expected from a race that made extensive use of EM weaponry.

The shields of the two cruisers were a bright yellow after absorbing the extreme energy, as the shields began radiating the energy out.

"Return Fire! Hit them in the engines with low-power."

At this considerable distance most of the arrays were not large or finely tuned enough to actually hit the fighters, so for the time being around fifty streams of burning white light were fired as close to the fighters as possible.

The slugs began impacting against ships, though still not particularly effectively by virtue of range. The slow moving projectiles could still be detected far enough to maneuver in such a way as to send a lance of light straight down the lines.

The Cruiser shields had phased down to orange.

The forwards movement proved to be a risky one, as with every closing kilometre the laser arrays became more precise, and more could be brought to bear.

Of course, it was also safer, as the beams became more focussed and actually (would) lancing through components as opposed to simple thermal disintegration.

The craft that span out of control found themselves being picked up with docking clamps by the swift Crusader torchships. Quick laser pulses fused the visible weapons and damaged control systems.

"They've deployed bombing bays, retract weapons and those not being bombed hit the mechanisms!"

Several of the Battleships and Cruisers withdrew their top-mount weaponry as the explosives made scorch marks, fragmenting and fusing armour and disabling various sensors and components. Most of the sensitive top-mount lasers were out of commission as engineers ran to gather the fragile components before they could be damaged by more bombs.

The cruisers, battleships and frigates not being bombed fired literally hundreds of searing white lasers, though mostly aimed at bombs. The ones that could still get an accurate reading on the fighters lased the bombing bays in the hopes of either damaging the launch mechanism or melting a bomb into the bay, both achieving the same result.

The Las-Blasts were not doing much against the heavy shields of the battleships, cruisers and frigates, though the bombs had done considerable damage to the upper weaponry array of several ships. They could be repaired, but most likely for this battle they would need to provide more covering fire than usual.

The crashing fighters caused a lot of damage as they plunged through decks, two of them exploding, gutting the rooms. Fortunately, the airlock-style damage control system contained the damage to only the path of the fighters. As the frigates swung to broadside they were exposed - their sensor footprints were great enough to use some of the more precise weapons on them.

The railguns came into operation, aimed at the smaller, more difficult to hit frigates.

It was a sight to behold, the battleships firing spears of light and streaks of light as the slugs of railguns hurtled at near the speed of light at their targets, Gamma task force defending them. Between the two fleets was Beta task force, firing as best they could to destroy the missiles before they came too close, with moderate success.

Missiles came through Beta's defensive wall, and were being dealt with by the far greater array present on the cruisers, though they periodically breached the second line and destroyed point-defence emplacements. So far the more heavily armoured (and less fragile) optical lasers and railguns were intact, though the situation may change should the missile volume increase at any location.

Two large troop transports jumped into the system (outer reaches), escorted by a number of torchships and frigates. They hurried to deploy before the Huntarian Loyalist forces could arrive. Also present were a number of reinforcements, which rushed to join the Hakurabi fleet.

The reinforcements were a bit more varied than the original task forces.

The huge battle ships, destroyers and Cruisers moved there turrets quickly over to targeting positions, the stood silent for a split second and then opened fire , massive arrays of green, blue, white , orange, and yellow flew out of the large dual cannons, like a display of fire works, followed by long strenuous beams of energy fire, cannons recoiled again and again as they fired glorious amounts of energy and color flew from them, the ships hulls were engulfed in huge pillars of light, large rapid fire pulses of weapons continued to stream out, missiles launched from the tubes and VLS of the ships, guiding seemingly worry less to there targets as the flew in between the glorious display of light that was unfolding in the dark lifeless void of space, it was almost soothing as the light show was going on, form the deck of the Lead ship the colors were that of an aura , it soothed the crew to see the colors osme what, even though it might mean there death.

IC:
Admiral Trife's flagship quickly picked up the energy signature of the enemy vessel follwed by its entourage of modified Star Destroyers. Major Kahyule walked up to the bridge while Trife was at the railing looking down at the tactical display map and viewing the enemy's formation.

"Admiral, we count 500 ships in total along with what appears to be a modified Super Star Destroyer. We seem to be the first ones to notice."

Light glinted off two diamond like jewels dangling off the end of his tiarra as Trife shifted his weight. "It seems we will need to move our Destroyers up to the front. I want the Whitestars ready to move and prepare the Frontlineships for a volley. It seems the Rambirds will be vital in this confrontation."

"Sir if I might add something."

Somewhat annoyed, "What is it?"

"Sir, the enemy is using modified Star Destroyers. They seem to be towerless which reduces their number of weaknesses. Some of our ships may not be as affective as you had anticipated."

An eye narrowed as he was becoming more annoyed with the Major stating the obvious. "I realize that ok. Still, all ships will play their part in this battle. Now, if you are finished adding information I already know to this meeting then I shall issue the orders."

"Yes sir."

Trife drew his command saber in a fluid motion. "All Rambirds and Shadow Destroyers will initiate the attack. Once they have engaged the enemy, the Whitestars will move in to occupy the fighters and the guns of the bigger ships. Then our Victory Destroyers will come in and silence the rest. As is custom with a battle, these orders are susceptible to change to fit the situation. Issue this order to the entire fleet."

"Yes sir."

About 15 Rambirds shimmered and disappeared from the Abh fleet. They were merely gone for a few seconds and reappearing among the ships of the enemy. Basically the smallest ship that had accompanied the fleet (not smaller than a fighter of course) but still quite large enough to draw attention at 400 meters and solid black. The four fins of the ship gently glided back and forth and with such ease of movement, the ships were capable of darting through space. The nose of the ships slid open to reveal a large ion cannon, basically the largest one that could be mounted on a ship that sizw as it ran through the entire body. Their mission, was to lower the shields of basically any and all ships that they could get at. The darkness of space lit up with hot blue ion fire.

The same procedure occured just like when they had originally entered the system.

"I want the Whitestars on scouting runs. I don't want a single ship slipping in to the system without me noticing."

Amerylk saluted. "Yes sir."

"Get me in touch with Lord Rahl and his men."

Korjar Star System

A lone Tel'tac (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10598896&postcount=40) launched from the hanger of one of the Necropolis's. It sped towards the star system and cloaked a few moments after leaving the hanger. A few moments more, every Tel'tac carried by the fleet launched, cloaked, and began moving towards predetermined positions to set up a sensor net around the entire star system.

After all the Tel'tacs were away, the Necropolis class heavy warships began edging foward towards the Oort Cloud and the interior of the star system.

- Lorita -- I think that's where the 'Aphotic' is, right?

And so it was that over the embattled world four massive cylinders of reinforced concrete materialized, with no fanfare or display. Their arrival was as sudden as it was silent, though all knew of their arrival simply by virtue of their sheer size. Even at half a lunar orbit away from the planet, everybody could see and clearly discern the shape of each massive vessel.

For a moment, the four massive Godulan Heighliners rested there, unconcerned with the ongoing battle, but then a strange greenish glow emerged from one end of the colossal vessel and a smaller, subtly triangular vessel pulled away from each of their host ships.

For all intents and purposes they looked like the great Eclipse Super Star Destroyers that engendered fear and awe even now among nations young and old. However, each of these four great dreadnoughts sported a thick, eerie web of glowing green crystal all about its surface, lending a strange sense of corruption to the already intimidating black vessels as they completed their departure from the enormous vessels that had born them into this fray.

To all who manned the sensors of any ship in the system, their registry came out in the following order: Famine, Death, Pestilence, and War.

The Four Horsemen was the designation of this particular unit of the Godulan StarNavy, and their purpose in combat was simple: Destroy anything and everything that dared to challenge them. And the Huntarian Sith would know this day as one of sheer horror, for these were no simple Eclipse Super Star Destroyers... oh no no no, that would have been too easy... too predictable.

No, the Four Horsemen were a league all their own. Every offensive weapons battery was gone. Every fighter bay removed. Every spec of fighter and cargo storage gutted. In the place of each offensive weapons battery was a launch platform bearing no less than five rapid reload torpedo launchers. In the place of any and all storage space was a horrendous mass of Fractal and Tachyon Torpedos. All excess weapons energy was shunted into shielding, and bearing massive upgrades of Godulan Technology, these vessels were faster, stronger, and all the more deadly than their original forms.

And of the strange webwork over each of them? Kythons. One full battleswarm of Kythons had split itself up and latched onto each of the Four Horsemen, providing it with even more shield energy and a hideous level of conventional firepower that the Eclipses had sacrificed in favor of the torpedo launchers.

The Four Horsemen aligned themselves, and advanced towards the enemy Huntarian Sith fleet.

On the bridge of War, far removed from the usual position upon that oh-so-aggravating tower, Maximillian Foster watched the scene unfold with an enthusiastic shark-toothed grin.

"Admiral Craimorn on the Bridge!"

"Status report," the Admiral ordered.

"Sir, the Godulan's have just arrived. And it looks like the Empire finnaly got their reinforcements too. The Aphotic is in the lead."

"Excelent work security," Craimorn walked upon the bridge of the old Eclipse, and looked out the window.

"Begin Craimorn Attack Pattern Alpha-Charlie-Theta. Get the Goliath's to engage the enemy Imperator's. Concentrate our Axiel Cannon on the enemy fleet, but AVOID THE APHOTIC AT ALL COSTS. Jorrus and Magriel left me..... Special orders for her and the Godulans."

"Hmmm... Smart. They have their ships in the shape of our's but they aren't Eclipses. Interesting."

"Sir! Empire is beginning to engage the fleet! The Aphotic's fighters have been launched from their hangar bays!"

"Send out our fighters. Coordinate their assault onto the enemy Tie's.

"Sir, they have better tech than we do..."

"Does it matter? No. We can win with the Godulans...."

The Four Horsemen aligned themselves, and advanced towards the enemy Huntarian Sith fleet.

"The landing fleet can wait. After all, they should feel honored at the opportunity to watch the fleet that brought them here die die die die die."

"Five seconds sir, initiating countdown."

Maximillian's predatory glare took on a new facet of unsurpassed feral glee as the comm channel cut off without further fanfare. "Start it up!"

"Five, four, three, two, one, zero."

"KILLLLLLLLLLL!"

Suddenly, all comm channels in the system burst into activity, playing the 1812 Overture as the Four Horsemen began to open up with the full fury of their missile bombardment.

Each of the massive Eclipse Star Destroyers shuddered under the full weight of the onslaught they put forth, many thousands, possibly even tens of thousands of missiles departing each of the great dreadnoughts in the span of a few seconds, roaring forth from each launch platform, the modified fighter bays, and even the command tower had been converted into a massive launch platform in order to pump out as many missiles and torpedos as possible in as short a time as possible.

Fractal Torpedos and Tachyon Torpedos surged forth into the enemy fleet, with the former slamming into enemy shields with great detonations of space-shredding energy, while the Tachyon Torpedos aimed themselves towards specific points on each enemy ship and detonated just before striking shields, sending forth a pulse of Tachyon energy that turned into a blast of destructive energy on the scale of a heavy turbolaser blast as each burst of Tachyon energy passed through the enemy vessels' primary line of defense to destroy critical weapons batteries, engine blocks, shield generators, and the like.

And through it all, Maximillian Foster thundered his hands on the railing in front of him over and over again as he watched the scene unfold, his eyes intent upon the panorama before him and his grin wider than ever before...

OOC: And yes, the missiles are programmed to avoid critically damaging the requested vessels. Everything else though? Dogfood.

Admiral Trife watched the arrival and procession of the Godulan ships. "Major Kahyule, recall the Rambirds."

"Yes sir but why?"

"This amount of firepower is redundant and I have no desire to lose lives when the outcome of the battle is already determined. We will throw the rest of our support behind the his Highness."

"But sir, we were assigned to this region. We should not abandon this space just yet."

On board the Keldeij, the transmission was coming through which forced the major back on to the bridge. "Sir, his Highness wishes to know why we are in this sector."

"Tell him that it was becoming to crowded and an assault on the planet would require both of our fleets."

The Reinforcements arrived soon enough, and the prisoners and tech samples were quickly loaded into containment cells, the Orks kept unconscious and the fighters stored in vacuum bays.

The Containment vessels left as soon as they came, taking the POWs and their equipment with them.

The battleship's added missiles increased the volume of missile fire and damage started to increase. Fortunately as a result of the broadsides being turned two of the battleships could train their railguns on the launchers, and they did.

"Bombers, hit FR-001 and take it out - we need to slow the stream, or make them run out. If you can, hit the ammo stores. That sort of damage will probably waste the entire ship all at once."

"Roger, control."

"Board BS-001 and FR-002, 16-4. Capture officers and scuttle."

The bombers were only designed in order to make use of Antimatter 'snowballs' accelerated in a shell with a rail gun. The speed at which the shell decays was far too short to make use of it as a long range gun, not to mention that for full effect it needed to penetrate the hull, but once in it would bounce around annihilating things randomly and emit a lot of hard gamma to boot.

It was an amazingly effective weapon, but its rapid decay once out of the complex machinery preventing an accidental reaction made it unusable except at short (~300000km) ranges.

Besides their bulky main cannon, they were outfitted with the usual Phased arrays, which served as both a foil against missiles and an offensive weapon. Its heavier armour and shields gave it a higher survival rate, given that it was a cruiser size ship intended to go *very* close to hostiles.

So the new arrivals rocketed off to intercept and deal with the Toophian ships.

"Sah, Foightaz kumin' in!" (OOC: I'm pretty sure it's damn near impossible to mistake a cruiser for a fighter - the scale should be a dead giveaway.)

The ships slowed as the scrap appeared on the sensors - they would not make the same mistake as Alpha Group.

The bombers turned and aimed at bits of scrap near the back.

If there was an atmosphere to carry the sound, everyone would have heard a deafening crack as the main cannons were fired into the scrap fields, shells disintegrating as they struck their targets.

The packed spheres of antimatter impacted with the scrap, shaving off a layer and vaporising the scrap piece, then being propelled into other scrap pieces, repeating the process. Any missile salvoes unfortunate enough to be caught were disintegrated as well, the chaotically bouncing and splitting orb of antimatter being periodically supplemented with further spheres of destruction to replace the ones that petered out or escaped. It was not particularly dangerous to let them escape, as they would simply decay in reactions with residual space dust.

It was presumed the Orks would decide that such an item would not be welcome in their ships.

By the time they were done, only the odd pile of scrap or chunk of missile was left.

The Miehmish ships were tearing through the system, already decelerating hard to meet the Huntarian Rebels in battle, this was about to become bloody. They already had nearly 2 hours of sensor data on the enemy, and their target locks were solid. Now an entire fleet of ships bearing Missile Pods and off-bore launchers opened up on the Rebels. Hundreds, then thousands, then TENS of thousands, and finally over one hundred thousand missiles filled space. The first broadside would always be heaviest, and with the sheer number of contact warheads in the volley there would be few if any Star Destroyers intact after the EMP and other interference faded.

The Shrikes and Cimeterres were tightly clustered around the fleet, waiting for the inevitable response from the Rebel Fleets fighters and guns, whatever came at them, it was up to these semi-suicidal men and women to face it down, and crush the opposition.

Exterior

The fleet of 190 Necropolis class heavy warships shimmered and dissapeared as they Phased into Hyperspace. They reappeard in Real Space behind the Mini Miehm forces.

I.S.S. Necropolis - Main Bridge

"We are in position, sir."

"Weapons are locked on to the engines of the enemy ships, sir."

"You may fire at will."

"Aye, sir."

Exterior

Massive bolts of golden plasma blasted from the SeaQuestian fleet towards the engine banks of the Miehmish forces. A single salvo from the main guns of a lone Necropolis would be enough to destroy a Ha'tak or Star Destroyer. In this case, it was multiple salvos from multiple Necroplis's. The thermal and kinetic energy alone would cause large amounts of damage. The explosions upon impact would unleash splash damage as well.

"Reinforcements are right on cue. Call in Admiral Harrington. Bring them in as close as possible and at full strength. She an be here in less than an hour at their best speed."

"Aye sir. Admiral Harrington is en route, and will arrive just about...now."

In space, some distance away, the ships of 8th Fleet ripped free from hyperspace and went to their significantly higher maximum acceleration. Medusa-Bs, Saganami-Cs, all of the most advanced classes in the navy were featured in this Fleet, faster and stronger than the rest of the fleets, but with less numbers.

The 3rd fleet barely reacted to the strike as the plasma streakedthrough space, impacted on their sidewalls and simply...spattered. No results, no damage, no flashy light show. Nothing. Plasma was useless against even the weakest of sidewalls, and these were some of the most powerful military grade sidewalls in the nay, the Superdreadnoughts and CLACs didn't waste time replying either. They had used contact ranged nuclear devices against the Huntarian Rebels, now the switched things up a bit, unleashing their powerful energy weapons batteries, Grasers, Lasers, Energy Torpedoes(my version of a Plasma Weapon, wiki it if you wish), and then, adding insult to injury, their port broadsides vented their fury at the opposing ships. Not nearly the same intensity as the strike against the Huntarians, but still hundreds of missiles strong. And this time it was concentrated against just one vessel: The Necropolis itself. Obviously the Flagship of this ignorant fleet, the crew would be stunned when the missiles detonated at 30,000 kilometers, and unleashed their bomb-pumped X-Ray lasers into the ships shielding, and inevitably armor.

IC: Fortuneately(sp?), as each and every Necropolis was identical in appearance and, as it was a combat situation, identification transponders were deactivated, the enemy fired at the wrong ship. While the Necropolis evaded harm in her position in the staggered fleet as it continued its bombardment of the Mini Miehm forces, the ship that was targeted suffered major damage. Her shields were almost gone, but regenerating with each passing moment like they were supposed to, she also had multiple hull breeches and several missing weapon emplacements. The Naquadah of the hull absorbed some of the incoming energy from the enemy energy based weapons, but not all of it and was cracked, melted, and fused in places. It was obvious that she couldn't survive much more, so she used what weapons she had left as she attempted to withdraw.

OOC: MM, if I recall that image of how sidewalls are supposed to look, there is an opening in the rear, which is where I was shooting. So don't pull that wank that they hit only these uber-shields of yours.

OOC: You are corect, there are openings at the fore and aft, however, you didn't say that. You said you appeared BEHIND my fleet. That means you appeared on their port sides, as their starboard broadsides were presented towards the Huntarians, and that is the "front" during any battle. You must choose your words better, especially with someone willing to exploit everything you do. You are playing my game now. The Game of War, one I have made it a point to engage in since my beginnings. You play Chronosias game, but even there you are not an equal. Welcome to the Jungle.

And remember, I don't have to use such plebian tricks as guessing at which ship it is based on visual cues or transponders. It's a Flagship. Flagships give orders. Orders require transmissions. Any ship making more transmissions OUT is the one I'm going to target, but whatever. There are plenty of ships coming down on you, and once I get someone to bring up an FTLi, this battle is a foregone conclusion.

IC:

The Miehmish ships kept up their furious broadsides against the SeaQuestian fools, spreading their energy weapons among the targets available, and concentrating their broadside missiles against one ship at a time. There was a volley every thirty seconds, and a new target just as often. The sheer numbers of attacks against each ship would make things very difficult for the weakling Alterans.

They had obviously expected to encounter opponents utilizing something similar to the Star Destroyers of so many nations. The Miehmish did not engage enemies prow on, they engaged with their broadsides, a take them in the rear would be forced to make serious vector changes to get around to a weak point in their defenses.

OOC: Ahh, your original post wasn't very clear on that (I actually had to go back and re-read it). I was actually picturing a very different situation. My mistake.

As for comm signals, the "Operation Peek-A-Boo" maneuver was preplanned, so no luck in that department. Its only in Phase I right now.

IC: The Necropolis made no moves to hide and the other ships made no move to cover her. In fact, for all intents and purposes, it would appear that they were protecting one of the other Necropolis's, the decoy command ship.

OOC: Now for Phase II.

IC: As the operation had been planned to as fine a detail as was possible, it was about to enter the next stage. It was known that the Huntarian Empire had relations with the Galactic Empire, which Mini Miehm was known to be a part of. So, long before departing from Altera, it had been decided for the fleet to use a favorite Miehmish tactic against them, but with a twist. Polka music was played at full blast on all comm frequencies. This tactic wasn't simple jamming like the Miehmish tactic was, this SeaQuestian tactic was designed around the aspect that polka music can drive sane people caw-caw.

In the meantime, the Necropolis's had moved to new positions. As they moved, the dropped Gravity Mines from their cargo bays that cloaked immediatly after being deployed. The mines would be drawn towards the Miehmish ships where they would attach and increase the mass of the ships using gravimetric technology many fold. They were repelled from the SeaQuestian ship's because they had an identical charge as one carried in the Naquadah of the Necropolis's hulls.
