I've started my first RP, set in 1000 AD. It's an earth-based RP, where you can claim either a nation or a group of culturally similar territories (You need to RP internal strife and feuds in that case though).

The Holy Roman Empire is starting a conference of all the Christian kings in Rome, the Pope has declared a Crusade which Denmark, England, France, the Byzantines, the Teutons, and the Holy Roman Empire have joined, and tensions are rising between Denmark and Sweden over Christianity.
