Italy and Argentina have formed an economic and military pact to aid each other's growth with Argentina providing the natural resources Italy needs to become a major industrial power. New and updated factories are also to begin construction across Italy. Production is expected to double by the end of the year and perhaps triple within the next five years thanks to this cheap and plentiful supply.

The king has also allowed the Pope to form a 100-man Holy Army to defend holy sites in Rome. Soldiers are restricted to be inside Rome at all times while on duty and are considered a branch of the Italian Army, although they aren't actually used for war. All control over the small army will be managed directly by the pope or others he has chosen to command for him.

King Emmanuel III has announced that he will follow through on his plans to build a formidable Italian Military. Thanks to new sources of natural resources, plans to build a 500,000-man army have been put into place. The recruiting goal of 200,000 new soldiers is to be met by the end of the year (not counting training, organizing, etc.)

Chile Italy and Chile have formed an economic and trading pact to aid each other's growth with Chile providing the natural resources Italy needs to become a major industrial power. This should aid Italy's industrial and military growth.

Argentina Italian contractors and naval advisors have been dispatched to Argentina to advise in the construction of new naval bases.

Turkey Italy has signed a 10-year lease with the Ottoman Empire (1911-1921) for Tripoli to establish a secondary naval base. Portions of the Italian Navy have been dispatched to Tripoli as have 5,000 soldiers to defend Italian interests.

Italy With the beginning of 1911, Italian recruitment fell 22,000 soldiers short of the goal of 200,000. The Italian Army is now 478,000 strong, although over 1/3 is in basic training, and plans for 2 new dreadnoughts have been put into place, both to be finished within 2 years.

In an effort to end tensions between Austria-Hungary and Italy, we propose a deal be made on Austria-Hungarian held land that is ethnically Italian. We are open to any suggestions Italy makes

Italy has a plan to not only solve the Italia Irredenta problem, but help put and end to the naval race:

Austria must:
-Release Italia Irredenta (forming the modern border), except Istria
-Swear not to build over 15 dreadnoughts
-Swear not to invade Italy for any reason in respect for the Triple Alliance
-Swear to respect the Triple Alliance and it's guidelines

Italy must:
-Surrender two Italian dreadnoughts to Austria to even the naval race (those things are the atomic bombs of this era)
-Swear not to build over 15 dreadnoughts
-Swear not to invade Austria-Hungary for any reason in respect for the Triple Alliance
-Swear to respect the Triple Alliance and it's guidelines

Austria-Hungary will happily accept these terms

The Italian dreadnoughts will be delivered within a few weeks. Now that that's all over, we can be allies again! So, welcome to the Triple Alliance.

Austria-Hungary would be interested to know if Italy would work together with us to build a new dreadnought class both our nations could build to replace older dreadnoughts. Austria-Hungary wil also be increasing its army size and destroyers (ooc: just so you don't feel threatened)

SIC to Italy: The first matter os that we had expected that there would be no intervention as we went on to reunite all Slavic peoples in the Balkans and free them from the control of the Ottomans, but have heard of recent friendly actions between your nations. Serbia would like to know what action Italy would take with an aggressive Balkan Alliance action?

Secondly, Serbia would be happy to be friends with Italy and develop a pact for trade and talks if possible

To Serbia:
Although Italy has no hostilities against Serbia and never has, we're afraid that we can not turn our backs on our ally. We recommend an immediately demobilization or the relations of our two nations may be forced into war.

To Austria-Hungary:
Germany has begun aiding Italy's research and construction already and we recommend the entire Triple Alliance begins working together to improve Italy and Hungary's naval power in the Mediterranean.

Beginning November of 1911, the recruitment campaign shall begin once again. This time the goal has been set for 800,000 men and large amounts of royal funds are being spent for higher soldier wages, better training camps, better equipment, and upgrades for the navy. Production rights for foreign weapons, ships, and other military supplies have been purchased from multiple nations.

Small opposition to the king's super-industrialization plan has flared up after 29,000 citizens were forced to relocate as entire neighborhoods have been destroyed to make room for factories. The already failing agriculture of Italy is facing even more serious issues as Italy establishes larger fishing fleets as well as food imports from as far away as South America. Political advisors also recommend against the plan as this places Italy is a position so that it is dependent on foriegn exports and is at the will of other nations.

To: Italy
From: Argentina

We have noted that you have submarines in your navy. We were wondering if theses are state-of-the-art designs, and if it is possible for us to aquire them.

OOC: Actually I have no clue. The number they had is about all I can get on Italian submarines. Considering most of the Italian Navy was built within the last 20 years, they should be pretty new.

And also, instead of buying plans or what ever, how about a trade deal. Like, instead of you just handing over a couple million dollars, Italian merchants get like a 5% discount on Argentinain raw materials for a year or something like that? After all, industries have plenty of money but constantly need more raw materials.

OOC: If you want submarines you should get them from the Germans. The first of Germany's modern U-boats was completed in 1913. No one else in the world at this time had anything in comparison. For instance, during World War One Germany had a few U-boats sneak past Gibraltar and operate in the Med. France and Britain were searching for Germany's "secret" bases they thought the U-boats must be operating from. The U-boats had no bases; they didn't need them, but France and Britain didn't know this because their subs sucked enough that they would have needed them. Interestingly, the U-boats had enormous success in the Med, despite the Germans never having more than a handful of them there they managed to sink quite a lot. During the Gallipoli campaign alone they sunk two British battleships, forcing the Brits to withdraw all battleships from the bombardment they were doing because they were too easy targets.

Anyway, is that enough of an explanation as to why you should look into getting German subs? Of course I won't be able to build more than a couple for you before the great war, and during it I will need to use all industry for myself.

Italy would be pleased to purchase (or build ourselves if you wish) a few German submarines. Although we aren't hoping to build a small fleet of them or anything like that, they could potentially be useful for sinking enemy trade ships from Eastern Europe.

Germany would prefer to sell you the production rights, as we are unable to build you many at this time.

OOC: By "many" I mean at most two before war breaks out.

OOC: I'll probably only end up making a few.

IC: Italy will accept the sale (I think I've paid your entire government's salaries over the last two years) of production rights in the interest of maintaining Triple Alliance superiority over the Mediterranean.

OOC: I know, you wouldn't believe the contribution you have made to my ability to build as much as I want. It will all be worth it for you though when we rule the world.
