The Green Sun Penninsula only had one port big enough to fit the large cargo ship the US had sent him on. Homer was to be 'escorted' by Homer and Yillik to the country. It consisted mostly of farmers and other people of no importance, ruled by no one except God.
"Wow. This place is totally uninteresting," Earnest said, rubing his eye under the eyepatch.
"Yeah, but it's going to be home for a loooong time," Homer said, pushing Earnest off. Earnest brought only a few things of sentimental value: Clothes, medals, trophies, newspaper articles of his heroism and his crimes, and a lrge number of wollen socks, despite the tropical-temperate even desertlike climate of Green Sun.
"Do we have transportation of any kind to the Ferry?" Yillik asked.
"Over here, friend."
A small wagon pulled by two oxen with an elderly Russian man sat about twenty feet away.
"Oh, god..." Earnest said to himself, "This country is going to need a lot of work."
"What a wonderful pile of dirt!" Yillink said sarcasticly. They hopped on the back of the wagon and waited several long hours until they arrived at teh Ferry to take them to the mainland.

Earnest cried while on the ferry ride. The whole nation was full of farmers and riffraff. Not a shred of technology save for the ports established by Risban and Willink in their exploration of the penninsula. These people were dirt poor and had no nationality. They were completely vulnerable and incredibly weak. Earnest wasn't a prejuced man, but even he could spot weak humans. And now he was leading a whole nation of them.

The moment they arrived ta the docks, an old fisherman walked up to him and said,
"Who the hell're you? Are you another one o' dem Soviets who wanna control us? They've been pissin' us off for the last few months and-"
"No, I'm not a Soviet. I'm an American, and I'm here to make sure those pissant Soviets get what's coming to them. I'm your new-err-What am I?" Earnest asked. He turned to Homer.
"I guess President? Governor? Uh..."
"I'm the new King."
"Have we ever had a King?" the fisherman asked.
"Up until now? No."
"Oh. So you're not married?"
"No."
"Okay. Maria! Daria! Get out here!" the fisherman shouted. Two beautiful young women, no older than sixteen, dressed in poor clothing and dirty faces walked out.
"Take one of my granddaughters! Their parents passed away some months ago and I can't handle the two."
Earnest made an awkward face and looked at Homer.
"I don't do the uh...On-the-whim marriage thing. But I'll pay for their education. I'll send them off to the USA to get a formal education and tehy'll have a better life there."
"It won't cost me any of my fish?"
"Not a herring."
The fisherman's face lit up.
"Send them on the ferry to the main island tomorrow and then have them pay for a trip to the United States. I'll have everything arranged by the time they're there."
