Wilhelmsborough

In his time as ruler of Wilhelmsborough, Prince William had seen his nation grow by leaps and bonds, especially in terms of military defense. High defense budgets had allowed for the purchase of some very expensive weaponry. Population growth had also meant that people entering the military would continue to grow.
But there was a problem. Although these soldiers and military assets of the country were many, they were also completely unorganized. There was no structure, no order. There was no distinction between who was in charge of the army, the air force, or the navy. In short, the military of the Principality was a swollen disorganized bureaucracy.
But that was about to change. Prince William, working with General Sherman, had been doing a great deal of research into military organization and heirarchy. They had finally come up with a plan.
That plan would go something like this:
The Military would be divided into three branches:
The Army (Wilhelmsborough Imperial Army (W.I.A.))
The Navy (Wilhelmsborough Imperial Navy (W.I.N.))
and The Air Force (Wilhelmsborough Royal Air Force (W.R.A.F.))
The number of servicemen in the military would be divided into a fixed percentage for all three branches. The Army would get 40% of all servicemen, while the Navy and the Air Force each got 30% of the service men. No matter how high the population rose, these precentages would remain for the distribution of new recruts.
The next important matter regarded the setting of a hierachy of authority throughout all three branches.
For the Army, this heirarchy would be:
Private 3rd Class
Private 1st Class
Lance Corporal
Corporal
Segeant
2nd Lieutenant
1st Lieutenant
Captain
Major
Lieutenant Colonial
Colonial
Brigadier General *
Major General **
Lieutenant General ***
General ****
Field Marshall
General of the Army
After some consideration, Prince William decided to name Nicolai Trotsky as General of the Army.
The Navy Hierarchy would go:
Seaman
Petty Officer
Ensign
Lieutenant, Junior Grade
Lieutenant
Lieutenant Commander
Commander
Captain
Commodore
Rear Admiral
Vice Admiral
Admiral
Fleet Admiral
Admiral of the Navy
Prince William designated Vittorio Augustine as Admiral of the Navy.
Finally, there was the Air Force Hierarchy:
Airman
Sergeant
Master Sergeant
2nd Lieutenant
1st Lieutenant
Captain
Major
Lieutenant Colonial
Colonial
Brigadier General *
Major General **
Lieutenant General ***
General ****
General of the Air Force
For the Position of General of the Airforce, the Prince appointed General Salazar T. Sherman, who also continue to serve as the Minister of Defense.
And of course, at the top of the hierarchy, was the Commander-In-Chief himself, Prince William Kennedy. He alone would have authority over everyone.
