General,
It will please you to know that the Prometheus project is on schedule. We plan to, with your permission, begin a test launch and a subsequent test firing of the weapon by next March. The prototype is almost complete. Our estimates show that the weapon will disable permanently all electronics within thirty miles of the blast zone, including the satellite itself.

We trust the Prometheus will better ensure the security of our nation.

General Abromov hated tanks. They were big, slow, and too easily blown up. However, the old AR-130 Sabretooth certainly did its job. As the heavy tank rumbled across the frozen wastes, Abromov pulled his fur coat tighter.

The tank halted just outside of a bunker, so small it probably had gone unnoticed by the orbiting satellites. As the General and his staff took up shelter in the bunker, the exercise began.

A pair of Penetrator tanks and a wing of drone fighters were performing exercises out on the tundra. The men in the tanks had no idea what was about to happen.

"Fire."

A golden beam of light speared down from the sky, hitting the ground and causing the air to ripple with energy. The tanks immediately stopped in their tracks, and the fighters simply fell from the sky. Abromov watched delightedly as a red fireball burned momentarily in the sky.

The Prometheus' weapon had worked precisely as intended. It had disabled all electronics within a 60 kilometer radius, including the satellite itself.

"Tell Terrk I want three more just like it launched within the year. I think it's time that the Commander was informed."
