Space exploration

Our National Space Exploration Agency has requested and been granted a new budget to give them more funds. As a result, they have publicly announced plans to build a space station (in October) that will orbit around the Earth, and possibly have a program to explore multiple other planets for colinization. The NSEA has also put out a request to any nations interested in space exploration that they would like to make the space station avalible to nations. We ask any nation interested in a space exploration program to post here and we will grant you permission to use our space station, therefore agreeing to help maintain it. There are several advantages to this idea:

A.It can bring nations closer to better space exploration because it will be teamwork-oriented.
B.It reduces the costs, because if many nations are pitching in a bit of money to maintain a space station, it costs much less than if each nation has their own space station.
C.Further advances in space colonozation.

Please post if interested.

Hello,
If you would offer us assistance, we already have a small space station. We are working on an asteroid tug, to bring back a large asteroid for mining. There is theoretically more metal available in some asteroids than there is on the entire nation of earth mined for a year. This will allow us to become an industrial powerhouse. Leaving us with a serious advantage in resources. We are trying to figure how to break up the asteroid in space cheaply and safely, then process it into ores which we will ship down by space elevator from our space station. Our goal is to use inexpensive off the shelf technology to do this. While we have some PMT technology, we want to keep our expenses down. We already have several engines in place and the first module for our asteroid tug. It is a modular snap together system, so we can send pieces up and build the tug quickly.

Regards, Walter Cruon, Minister for Space.

The first of our ships have been launched to take space station parts up. The deck and flotation device will be in the air in aprox. 10 minutes. After it is up, our crew will work on the space station for a while to make it livable, and then we shall see what happens from there. The current goal of the NSEA is to find planets with similar conditions to Earth and claim them in the name of science and democracy, and also possibly colonise them if we can find a good number of people willing to move to a different planet.

LA Ice will happily assist in the building of this Space Station, and would like to ally its rather small Space Exploration program, the LA Icenese Universal Exploration Administration (or LAIUEA for short) with the NSEA.

Should you ally with us, we have a very large robotics industry, and we will be able to create probes to explore the surfaces of any planets you find.

However, we ask in return that LA Ice is able to establish a colony on any of the planets that THESUPREMERULERMATTHEW colonizes.

Thank you,
The Hon. Valentin Vasquez
President of LA Ice.

Pythogria would love to help in the maitinence and construction of this space station! This will really help our space program! Could we use this as a "base" per say, when building our space colonies, and use it as a "launch pad" for our otherworldly colonies?

Our contribution will be the Science Module and Docking Bay, if we are approved.

Re: Space colonazation

Our space station is now liveable on, and avalible for all nations to use. While we wait for the supplys neccesary to continue building our space station, we have researched sites for possible expploration and colonazation. One of these identified sites is a planet in the Andromeda galaxy, called Fergo. We belive that this planet has possible conditions nessecary for life to survive on it. We hereby ask permission to use LA Ice's robotic manufacturing, and create a probe that will identify further characteristics of this planet.
Currently, our plans for colonazation would be send our colonozation ships through the recently discovered wormhole to the andromeda galexy. Any nations interested in heping this goal are welcome to respond.

Speaking on behalf of the Government of the Peoples' Republic of Maikeria (PRM), we would be happy to allie with you. All we ask is that you provide some basic national defense for the PRM as we do not currently have any. We will send government workers to assist in the construction and upkeep of the Space Station

Also, as the highest percentage of the PRM's budget goes to Education our Republic is willing to send teachers to any planet you find suitible and decide to colinize to:

A. Establish places of Learning and Spirituality
B. Make sure that every person in the new colonies receives a free education
C. Offer private lessons in the areas of extracurricular activites.

All colonization of any colonies that any of us set up by this agreement are shared for all of us to use, as this is the point of the agreement. We thank you also for the support of our space station, and the continued building of it.

I would like to have the member nations vote on something however:

Should this station:
A. Have defence only to use in emergencys AGAINST THE STATION in particular
B. Have the defence and attack power to attack countries from the sky
C. Have no defence or attack power, and defence should be provided by the nations that are docked on the station.

I vote A personally.
Maikeria
11-03-2006, 04:03
I suggest that all member nations vote C, but as part of the agreement decide that we can only use the weponary according to these terms:

A.There must be a 3/4 vote FOR the use unless it is an attack on the space station itself.

B. No member nation may arm the station with any missle other than conventional.

C. The use of weaponary can not be used against civilian targets excluding:

-1: the manufacturers of weapons/war vehicles.
-2: any terrorist orginization

D. This weaponary can only be used against a country that you are warring against, or a known terrorist orginization

The station was not meant to be a tool in wars around the world. It is supposed to be a milestone in space exploration. I say that it shall have arms but only to protect itself. It could still be used for millitary monitoring and picture taking, but no warfare.
Pythogria
11-03-2006, 04:11
Here, how about this:

1. It may have weapons ONLY for security purposes.

2. These may not be used unless needed for defense of the station.

3. Pictures may be taken from this station.

Builod your own stations for weapon platforms.

Once the LA Ice astronauts reach the space station, hopefully we can get a few of the astronauts from each planet to go down to the moon and explore it while (with permission) LA Ice's Talon will investigate samples of soil, rock, and many other factors. 6 launches of two stage rockets have occurred. 6 of the external tanks have been added to the asteroid recovery vehicle. One of the front cones is locking on to the forward section. Four of the other forward cones are being converted into mining cones. We have been transferring equipment to building the asteroid tug from our railgun launcher. We will be finished with our tug soon. The space elevator from earth is going full blast. We are transferring equipment as fast as we can. The nose cone has locked in place. The empty tanks lining starts inflating into inflatable internal hab mods. Two experimental equipment sets are sent previously being worked at at the space station, the recyclable regenerating life support system, which regenerates air food and waste, and the biosphere mini farm which provides excess food, and atmosphere. Equipment is transferred, spacesuits and other things making the vehicle ready for launch. The rocket tanks are filled up with fuel from the space elevator LOX fuel. Extra food and eqipment are sent. Solar panels, scientific instruments and other things. Crew is transferred to the tug. The new diamond crystal microchips are put in place making the ships maneuverability excellent. The ship floats away from the space stations. The four attached space capsules have been converted into robotic mining cones. Rockets engage we are go. Heading towards first engagement for mining. At the space station. a giant net opens floating out to a fixed point not too far from the station. A cable with a large cargo shell is attached to the net.

We are accepting commercial berths on our small station. We would gladly exchange any scientific advances through a cooperative agreement. Re: Livable conditions

Recently, we have researched a technology that we call Space Irrigation. This technology allows us to break up fluids into tiny atoms, beam them over long distances, are rebuild them at the time it is received. This technology is only for fluids becasue the atoms can get mixed up in the sending, and be rebuilt at a different place, meaning if this were tried on a human, they would probably look very mutated after the transfer. This is not a problem with fluids because they have no certain shape. Using this technology, we will provide liquid water and oxygen to outposts on the moon, our first stop of colonization.

Our scientists have began cunstruction on the peices of these outposts. The outposts will be like a big domed in part of the Earth so that it doesnt seem much different.

The launch from my country of the living quarters is sceduled for 1:00PM GMT. The living quarters will make the moon livable, but there will be no point in it untill there is more done. I ask any willing countrys to help build research labs, spaceports, hallways and more. When the living quarters arive, they will have 3 seperate sections. Each astronaut will get their own small room with a bathroom, all these rooms are in a hallway, at the end of the hallway is the Oasis, which will have many of the nice features of Earth, including grass in one area, a river with running water in another, then some living room type stuff. This is where the astronauts would probably go in their freetime. Going off of the oasis is the school, which will be taught my Maikeria's great teachers, and occupied by the kids of families colonizing the moon.

Permission granted for army operations. We do not have the facilites yet, you will need to construct them.

It is expected to arrive at the space station in approx. 10 minutes, and the astronauts will then ride a smaller capsul/lander down to the moon with the devices, where all 20 astronauts on the shuttl will then place the living quarters onto the moon.

Update: The astronauts have sucessfully got the oasis up. They are now working on the living quarters.

Four robotic mining cones land on asteroid. Firing small jets, they stabilize the asteroid. Then drills from the bottom start chewing into the asteroid, scooping material into the cones. Solar panels unfurl around the cones. Inside the cone is processing the material into iron, cobalt, platinum, nickel, and oxygen. Some of the oxygen is being used to power the solar furnaces creating a solar oxygen furnace. After a while the top of the cone opens and a bag of processed metals floats out with a small lox rocket engine. The engine fires sending the bag towards the catch net waiting at the station. The cones systematically move around the asteroid firing off packages. The crew ship with its regenerative life support system, and biofarm will be able to stay out quite a while time enough to mine two large asteroids. After a while, they will use some of the liquid oxygen from the mining operation to return to base. Huge amounts of metals will be extracted this way.

We are sending a bioscience, pharamacology, and crystallography module to the moon base.

We're sorry for this interuption of Americans Gone Wild, but we here at TBC 6 belive that a speech from the president is a bit more important.

*Switches to a picture of the president on the moon base*
This is the president, live from the international moon base. He is on a telecast there, and to start off, reporters from multiple news stations that will not be named because they are our competitors will ask him questions about the importance of space travel and exploration.

Reporter: Mr. President, What are the advantages of colonizing the moon and other places in space.
President: It can allow in this case, many countries to extend their reach of influence throughout the universe, and also let us unlock secrets of the universe. Also, colonizing other planets can provide help for us in time of war on Earth.

Reporter: What gave you the idea to go to space?
President: Many things, we had been researching it for a while now. This morning, I got a piece of legislation about going to colonize other planets, and one of the supporters had said "Don't tell me space colonies wouldn't be cool," said excited fifth-grade teacher Thomas Chicago, still wearing big Spock ears from his last convention. "Think of how they would galvanize the national population! And there would also be some kind of scientific benefit, probably."

Reporter: How do you plan to fund this?
President: It is an international operation, so each of the countries involved, including Maikeria, the EU of UE, Pythogria, Commonalitarianism, and LA Ice are each contributing their own part to fund the exploration. The project is therefore well within our science budget.

President: Thank you for your questions, reporters.
The space program, or the ISA, international space alliance, is coming along very well, with both a space station, and a moon base currently being built. The purpose of the moonbase is to be colonised, not just by astronauts, but by regular citizens. We have room here for 200 adults and 400 children, so any interested individuals or families should sign up now, at the website of the project, www.register.isa
The moon base is meant to be Earth-like. The current facilities for civilians include living quarters, an oasis with running water, that is meant to be like a gym and a place to relax, with real grass, and a school for any children who come here. The school will have great teachers from our neighbor, Maikeria. The living quarters are meant to be Earth-like too, and consist of many 3 level houses in a colonial style right next to each other, with enough yard room for children to play in. The houses have all the amenities of a regular home. I ask any families any more interested to visit www.info.isa for information on the subject. Good night, people of TSRM.

A sound echos through all of the moonbase and the space station. "Chineese battleships spotted hovering near enough to the space station to concern us. We have sent requests to them to move, but they wont. We belive they are trying to attack the space station. All millitary personell please report to the command bridge for briefing at once."

"This is the NSEA to Chinesse 1919, come in."
"Yes?"
"Please move your ships away from our space station immediately, or else we shall consider them as a danger to the station."
-Static-

*An explosion rocks the station*

"TAKE COVER! THEY'RE FIRING AT US!" yells a voice over the speaker.

Soon, the moonbase hears multiple planes taking off, in the air is the millitary, off to attack the chinees battleships.

"No!" Khonsu looked at the monitor. "Save the station! I want a missile-modified ship up there within the hour!"

---Station---

Pythogronaut Halfer Diaspeak sighted a Chinese battlecruiser.

"Holy Marvin Martian... FALL BACK EVERYONE!"

The Pythogronauts activated their jets, rocketing to the station.

"Agh! This is Station! Boarding ship sighted! Get assistance here pronto!"

"Yes sir!"

(OOC: I want this to stay MT/PMT. No laser ships, those'll have to be missiles, or really slow firing lasers. My missile ship should take theirs out though, with assistance.)

Two of our "civilian" monitoring satellites turn towards the space station. An aperture opens and a long barrel telescopes outward. 30 lb clusters of ceramic and carbon nanotube railgun darts start firing at the chinese ships at close to .2 c 20% of the speed of light. There should be 20 shots per satellite. It should take seconds to empty the satellites.

On board three of the technicians open cases handling the biofarm. They contain rapid fire needle rifles, designed to be used in space. The needles are coated with a strong tranquilizer. A clip contains 300 needles. They hand out three extra rifles to other crew members. :mp5: There are three clips for each rifles. Also they hand out 30 fast drying super glue grenades with a five meter round blast radius.

OOC: Whoa... war in space... COOL!

IC:

Several Pythogronauts were hit and injured, but Pythogrian technology meant only one died. Once at the space station, they all grabbed the Pythogrian cmmitment to the space arsenal-- the new ZA-1. Some also grabbed the Needle guns.

---Pythogrian Launch Facility, Ghorin---

"3... 2... 1... Launch!"

The first Pythogrian military spaceship wpould soon be in orbit. Armed with several heat seeking missiles, it would contribute greatly to the defense.

All the Austronauts hear a strane sound. They look out the windows and see a huge missle zooming towards the space station. They feel a jolt, but not an explosion. They are very puzzled... didn't the missle just hit them? Then the doors open, and 40 Chinese troops walk in. "We are taking over this space station", they say.

The Pythonauts soon dock. Sighting Chinese troops, they pull out the new ZA-1U assualt rifle, and open fire upon the Chinese troops. "DEFEND THE STATION!" one of them shouts. More station staff comes with needle guns, and begins firing.

Two of the technicians start tossing "plascrete" superfast drying superglue grenades at the Chinese troops. They explode in a 15 foot circle from impact coating everything with a near steel strength substance. One fires short bursts of needles at the Chinese troops.

where the hell did my post go?

Anyway.

An announcement comes over the radio "Good job troops, only one ship left"
As the millitary units get ready to fire on the last ship, they look out the window, and see darkness racing towards them. They all brace for impact. Suddenly, it's light again, theres no Chineese ships. One of the troops looks back at Earth to see his homeland safe once again. But, he notices no Earth. All he sees is light on one side, and a big black thing in the shape of a planet. Suddenly another announcement comes on "They've somehow shot us with some really powerful, yet harmless weapon. It shot us all the way to the other side of Mars. We have no communications with Earth at all. The pilots are trying to figure a way out of this mess.

The three "technicians" from the Commonalitarianism check the Chinese bodies. A few still have pulses. They bandage them and haul them off to the medical facilities where they will be interrogated after they are in good enough condition to talk. One of the technicians rolls out a barrel of solvent for five of the glue grenaded chinese troops. He first pours it on the Chinese troops weapons removing them handing them to the Pythogrian troops. Then one by one we unglue and attempt to capture the five living Chinese troops. We should have a few captives to interrogate now.

"Other side of the moon. Currently out of contact with Earth... but TSRM and Pythogria have colonies on the Moon."

Instead of sending the processed metals to the catchnet, on the Commonalitarianism station, four of the bags of processed metals being mined from the asteroid are redirected at the Chinese ships. They should be giant bags of metal 200 tons each containg iron, nickel, and oxygen with a rocket attached to them.

Railguns being reloaded. Several sets of solid tungsten rockets are being brought up to the space station. Men are being brought up as well for defense as well as weapons. We have two space capsules loaded with six men each ready to go. We have attached some missiles to the capsules.

Hello,
We are inspecting the first Chinese ship from the first landing. We are taking pictures, making measurements, and checking all of the technology. We would like to be able to reproduce a SSTO-- single stage to orbit ship that come from the earth, entered lunar orbit and landed 40 plus military people on the moon in one shot. A very advanced feat of engineering. This will advance our space program considerably. Any technical advances will be shared with all of the members of the International Space Alliance.

We are also going to reveal a secret scientific program which will be released to members of the International Space Association. We have been working on a Bell Ansible. Our communicator works on a quirky combination of quantum tunneling and simultaneity using pieces of Bell's theory of simultaneity. This will facilitate instanteous communication regardless of distance. The power cost is tremendous, but if we do build any colonies outward we will be able to contact them very quickly. http://www.halfbakery.com/idea/Ansible
