[Company Overview]
QAE Systems plc is the third largest company in Questers. It has the second highest growth rate and works on 83% of the Ministry of Defence's contracts. Originally, Questarian Aerospace was a small company based in the north of Questers, set up in 1968. Its first military contract was supplying light seaplanes to the Royal Navy for their war in the pacific. However, QAE grew and grew. It jointly worked on production of the HMS Hood and
now, in 2006, its revenue is approximately 2.542 Trillion USD and it employs over 21 million people worldwide.

We aim to give you one of the best Naval Defence services in the Nationstates world. QAE Systems Marine is the largest section of QAE Systems, and we are very proud of our warships. Indeed, our heavy capital ships used so adeptly by the Questarian Royal Navy are hailed as some of the largest and most powerful in the world.

[TYPE 52 'RETAIL' CLASS DDGN]
Overview
The 'Retail' Class Nuclear Propulsion Guided Missile Destroyer is a Destroyer designed specifically for large combats. The 'Retail' carriers good systems and weaponry while still mantaining a good speed. The 'Retail' is a monohull. She is armed with a multitude of missiles, mostly from large VLS cells, and a two small guns for shore bombardment or sea engagement. The SANAR round employed by the gun employs a rocket assisted shell to shoot as far as 80km.

[TYPE 32 'RIVER' CLASS FFGN]
Overview
The 'River' Class Nuclear Propulsion Guided Missile Frigate is primarily an anti submarine rig - her VLS are wired to be tracked to underwater targets using anti submarine munitions. The 'River' is fast, deadly, and silent, the result of a lower RCS, generous RAM paintings, and well constructed superstructure, weapons, and hull.

SUBMARINES

[RESOLUTION CLASS SSN]
Overview
The "Resolution" Class Submarine is the most recent SSN design for the Questarian Royal Navy and it will be replacing the last of the "November" SSG's from service, bringing the Admiralty's long awaited plans for an all-nuclear navy to fruition. The "Resolution" is a huge upgrade on the earlier "Monarch" SSN's, improving the length by almost 60 metres. Because of this, the "Resolution" has a far greater armament than the "Monarch" and will be able to fullfill roles that the "Monarch" could not easily or efficiently take on. The "Resolution" will be used in anti subsurface, anti shipping, and shore bombardment roles and will also be used alongside the new "Orient" class Cruiser Submarines in deploying special forces to remote locations.

Armament
The main armament of the "Resolution" is the VLS missile tubes right down the submarine's back from the conning tower. Divided up into three columns, each with 18 1 metre square VLS cells that are 10.55 metres deep. These VLS cells will store Conventional Cruise Missiles as well as NationStates calibre anti shipping missiles. As per usual, the missiles cannot be reloaded at sea.

For defence, there is a caseless 30mm C(ombined)©annon(M)issile(P)oint(D)efense [CCMPD] cannon with 11,000 rounds mounted on the conning tower. It is fully streamlined and fitted so that it reduces drag by 80%.

The torpedo tubes are split equally and mounted on the bow and the starboard bow, eight in total. Each torpedo tube can fire torpedoes as big as 30" but in the Questarian Royal Navy the standardised 28" Swordfish Nuclear Torpedo is used. Onboard the ship there are space for 18 spare torpedoes and reload time is 2.4 minutes minimum.

Complement
The "Resolution" class is furbished extremely well. Onboard the "Resolution", there is a 1.9m by 1.5m bunk for every crewman (3m squared for officers), a revolution in Questarian Submarine technology. In addition there is one mess room, and two prep rooms, one for group recreation and another for personal recreation. Some boat companies like to purchase snooker tables and widescreen televisions for their boats, all permitted by the Royal Navy. There are two kitchens, one for preparing and storage and one for cooking. Six of the staff onboard are trained navy cooks.

There are 12 comissioned officers of the Lieutenant Rank and above: One Captain, one XO, one Watch Officer, two Engineer Officers, one Navigation Officer, two Weapons Officers, a Complementary Officer (no, as the name implies, it doesn't come free. The Complementary officer looks after the well-being of the crew.) two Detection officers, and a Helms officer.

Propulsion
The propulsion method in the "Resolution" SSN is a single Stockford 4-4-1 Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor [S441 PHWR], developed specially for this design. As the admiralty plans to use the "Resolution"s for a maximum of thirty years there will be no need for fuel replacements on the nuclear reactor. The reactor is assisted by two Stockford 4-4-1 Turbines again developed specially for this design. There is one shaft with a Stockford Pump Jet with two pairs of four-bladed rotors and a fixed duct. A pair of diesel alternators are fitted with a pair of emergency drive motors and a pair of emergency retractable propellors. The propulsion on the "Resolution" will allow it to push the speed to 3 knots submerged at 100 metres and 29 knots surfaced.

[DREADNOUGHT SBCN
Overview
The 'Dreadnought' Trimaran Nuclear Propulsion Command Super Battleship is one of the largest superdreadnoughts in the world. In the Royal Navy, she is second only to the mighty Admiral class SBCN. Her armour system is exactly the same as the 'Prince of Wales', although the 'Dreadnought' does feature outriggers, reducing wave resistance (increasing speed), increasing survivability, and parts of the main superstructure, including her many DP guns/autocannons are based there, as well as being the only Questarian capital ship to carry a large number of aircraft. giving the 'Dreadnought' capability for its own CAP. In addition, she can use the flight deck to carry HELOs and launch her own naval assaults with the helicopters and the large number of marines, and supporting with her main guns. IAll in all, the 'Dreadnought' is a ship that can strike fear into the heart of an enemy fleet with large guns and missiles, that can protect a fleet with air assets, and can launch an assault on an enemy stronghold.

Overview
The 'Prince of Wales' Nuclear Propulsion Command Super Battleship is the result of severe overengineering - however, she is a formidable boat. The only monohull in the world above a kilometre, she has deadly weaponry. High calibre guns can bombard shores and wipe out ships, lots of missiles can break the back of dedicated air and missile assaults, and layered ceramic and steel armour provides the 'Prince of Wales' with extremely hard armour. A worth flagship for any modern navy. As with most superdreadnoughts, the 'Prince of Wales' can even act as a supply ship in times of need.

[GLORIOUS CLASS SBCN]
Overview
The 'Glorious' Class Nuclear Propulsion, Command Super Battleship is to replace the 'Warspite' by 2007. She is larger than the Warspite, and she carries a different gun configuration: five triple turrets with 27" bore guns. The 27" gun (designated 686mm 62 NAVCAN in the Questarian Navy) is a new design, that as competent as the 30" gun (known as the 762mm 62 NAVCAN). It is a smoothbore gun that can fire missile-shells to ranges of 130km with pinpoint accuracy and high reload speeds. In addition, large numbers of missiles and UCAVs give the 'Glorious' a powerful non-gun combatant. She is slightly slower then 'Warspite' but makes up for this with substantially more armour.

[WARSPITE CLASS BBAN]
Overview
The 'Warspite' Nuclear Propulsion Superheavy Battleship is an extremely potent battleship. She is large enough to act as a command ship and a flagship. Her large guns and missile armament pose a threat to any obstacle her way. Thick layered steel and titanium armour mixed with powerful engines make the 'Warspite' a formidable opponent to any modern battleship or aircraft carrier. Her three hulls form the basis of the trimaran hullform that gives the ship such great stability in heavy waters. Even compared to the larger ships like 'Prince of Wales' and 'Hood' the 'Warspite' is still classified as one of the most powerful ships available in the Questarian Naval arsenal. Overview
The 'Sovereign' is basically the sister ship of the 'Warspite' - comissioned by the QRN to fight on the pacific at a time when the 'Warspite' just cost too much and was too big. The 'Sovereign' is a good compliment to the 'Warspite' and also a good alternative for a smaller, cheaper, navy.

Overview
The 'Chieftain' Nuclear Propulsion Light Battleship is one of the many battleships employed by the Questarian Royal Navy. She was also one of the first, notable from her relatively small size. The 'Chieftain' however, is still a completely viable design and can compete against any NS battleship of her size. A perfect battleship for small and cheap navies, the 'Chieftain' can provide anti shipping capabilties with its large missile cells, she can act as a command ship, or bombard coasts to prepare for marine landings.

[BOWMAN CLASS BCGN]
Overview
The 'Bowman' Hunter Killer Nuclear Propulsion Battlecruiser is the fastest capital ship in the Questarian navy. At 53 knots, her maximum speed, she is an extremely fast vessel. This speed is mantained by a huge length-beam ratio, and also a very deep draught for a ship her size. A large, bulbous bow decreases wave resistance by 11% and in addition she uses the FASTShip hull - first popularised by Freethinker Defense Industries' Sabre destroyer. Her six 25" guns can match a superdreadnought in range and firepower, although firing while moving fast would hit anything but the largest battleship, and detection and missile targeting systems are affected. All in all the 'Bowman' is a great surface raider, convoy raider, and general battlecruiser, one of the most potent ships in the QRN.

Her 960 metre long decks allow her to operate twin engined bombers as well as huge number of jet aircraft, STOVL or conventional. Today, QAE Marine representatives have announced that fifteen [15] out of fourty two [42] high displacement docks - docks capable of constructing ships above a million tonnes - have been filled with orders. Currently eleven keels have been laid down, with one ship being fitted with systems (the auxiliary SBCN-141, due to be delivered to IH) and three are still in the pre production phase.

Our domestic shipyards are apt at providing escort vessels however we have a limited number of shipbuilders who can complete large surface warships.

QAE Systems Marine announces that the new aircraft carriers put up for sale have been sold to the Indepedent Hitmen Navy. In a press conference earlier today, representatives from the company offered a 2.5% share in the company to the IH Navy for 350 billion USD. The IH Navy has not yet replied but QAE Marine is hopeful.
The following have been scheduled for construction and delivery.

IH Navy Acquires 2.5% share in QAE

The recent acceptance of the offer from QAE Marine Systems for the IH navy to acquire a 2.5% stake in the company for a figure quoted as being above 300billion USD shows a dramatic shift in the policy of the Navy towards its newer vessels.

Previous IH incarnations of capital ships have been successful but obviously the Navy is now staking a lot of its production for future large warships on the foreign firm. The 2.5% buy in is seen by many economists as the Navy's way of ensuring that its supply of vessels continues whilst full diplomatic relations are established with the nation as a whole.

Back at home there were massed strikes from the workers of the PortHaven Shipbuilding Yards at this new announcement. They follow previous years protests about the purchases of large ships from the foreign companies rather than domestically producing them. Workers were eventually pacified by a combination of announcements of better work packages, including upgraded health plans, along with the announcement of a contract for twenty new Greek Class Heavy Cruisers that has been given to the PortHaven group.

GIGANTIC ORDERS

Today, QAE Marine officials announced that they had confirmed extremely large sales to Space Union and Allanea for 7.3 trillion and 537 billion USD respectively.

QAE has sold an entire fleet to Space Union - maybe a pre emptive on its package deals. Bottles of champagne were opened around QAE Marine shipyards and offices alike as employees were informed they had full pensions worth three times state pensions, the best full dental and private healthcare, and full paid insurance from the Conglomerate.

For many years, the Mauvasian Imperial Republican Air Force has found itself in the compromising position of having large numbers of aircrafts but few carriers upon which to house them. As the MIRAF is one of the outstanding branches of the Mauvasian military, this proved to be a dilemma in case Mauvasia ever required significant power projection.

We therefore began a search for a viable super-carrier capable of easily transporting large aerial armadas around the world, and eventually settled upon the Illustrious CVCN as the best choice, as it carries a significant AWACs and helicopter complement along with massive numbers of aircraft.

Therefore, the Department of Defence wishes to purchase four such vessels for our navy, at a total cost of $1,146 billion USD. As this sum is not readily available due to massive underfunding and mismanagement of the defence budget, we would like to pay off the amount in three installations; one every year for three years, if that is acceptable.
