OOC Planning thread for the upcomming RP "Expand or Perish"
The campaign basics
This thread is a planner thread for an upcomming RP campaign in the works. The campaign will revolve around my races' desperate need to expand, due to dwindling living space. The reasons for this are several; One, although currently several worlds are being terraformed within our space, they will not be completed for several decades to several centuries. In other words, such terraforming operations are seen by our people as a long term solution to our current predicament. However, what we need is a shorter term solution at the moment and that solution is a mass colonization effort.
Two, our people are, how shall I put it, "prolific" to use a precise term. We are egg laying and reach physical/mental maturity in only 4 cycles. In other words, we populate worlds rather quickly. But that's not all, being carnivors, and rather large for the most part means that a given life bearing planet cannot support as many of us as say humans - you just can't cram Sskiss together like you can humans. If you try you'll end up with a lot of dead Sskiss. To top it all off (as you might have guessed), we are also highly territorial - on both individual and collective levels. So as you can see, our dilemma is real, we must expand. And the posts will reflect that crucial fact. Indeed, all will revolved around this fact and others.
Next some basic rules which are for the most part no brainers. No flamewars, no trolling, no godmodding, no number or tech wanking and RP style is encouraged - in other words a good RP. Also, to aviod complications I'd like to have no more than 5 people participating at the outside. Myself and Chronosia (should he be interested) are included, that leaves a maximum of three other participants that can join in. Furthermore, if at all possible, I want good RP'ers who are generally well known in the dwindling FT community.
Note also there is no great rush to post, all I want is some consistancy so posting once every day or two is fine. Hell, I'll even allow up to a few days between posts - we all got lives outside of NS after all. You can PM me personally or reply to this thread which will also help build up a rough plot for the RP.
