A few months, in a devastating earthquake, the island nation of Maeri was sunk beneath the waves. The survivors lived underground, until now. Recently, genetic engineering by Maeri scientists allowed the survivors to breathe water and survive underwater.
The Republic of Maeri now reopens communication with the rest of the world. We will trade for technology and resources, as this democracy grows under the sea.
