Captain Yusuf Achmed wiped the sweat from his brow and looked at his chief engineer, Maryam Abd al-akiim. His ship, the Abd Allah, was dead in space. A critical power-core overload during a trans-warp transit had hurled his ship God knows where.

Allah watch over us... he thought.

"What's our status?" he asked her. She shook her head, "I've done everything I can captain. We're running on reserve power, and there's barely enough of that to run the communications and life support."

The sensors officer, Da'uud, spoke next. "I have no idea where we are. I thought I picked up a planet, but we could be in the middle of deep space for all I know."

The captain sighed. "Rig an automated distress signal. We'll keep sending it until our power fails. Someone has to be out there. In the meantime, keep working. See if we can jury-rig it enough to get us somewhere."

There were two answers in the affirmitave and Achmed turned his thoughts to the crew...


Distress Signal, Automated
This is the New Gazan Space Vessel Abd Allah. We are dead in space and require immediate assistance. Please, help us. I repeat...

The Defuniak Alter jumped out of Hyperspace. It was an Specter class DD, and it had picked up an Distress signal. As it edged Cautiusly Towards the Source of the Signal, the Captain had his eyes fixed on an Abnormality near the Space the Source was located in.

"Officer, What is that? Fire an Immobilizer Shot at that Blob."
"Yes captain"

A blue Bolt Flashed From the Left of the Ship towards the blob, and when the Contact happened, The Blur tirned into A Blue Flash, and then into A Small but Heavily Armed ship laced with Electrical Sparks.

"Pirates. Destroy them."
"It shall be done."

Red Bolts Flew out of Both Sides of the Ship, and When they conatacted, Explosive Flashes Occured. After A few seconds, It Blew up into One Big Fireball. The Captain was Sadistically Pleased.

"Good Job Officer, Now that we are close enough, Pull that Ship with the Distress signal into the Port Docking Bay. I am going down to meet the captain."
"Very well."

So the Captain of the Defuniak Alter went down to the Port Docking Bay, and waited. The Ship fell into the Bay with A thud. After A few seconds of Prodding, the Hatch opened. 5 Soldiers Went in First, and they Dispersed around into the Ship. 2 Guards Stayed and Escorted the Captain towards the Bridge of the Captured Ship...

OOC: Er, just an FYI the Abd Allah is a destroyer/light cruiser. It's about half kilometer long. Probably shoulda mentioned that.

On a outpost on the outskirts of the Moonwoods System a young man sat at his screen and hoped something will happen. He got his wish when gravametrics picked up a large mass suddenly appear at the edge of the system. He frantically turned on all his recievers, looking for some sort of single. This didn't happen often, but when it did there were certain procedues to follow. He almost fainted when he got a single, with what appeared to be a message. He didn't understand the content and set the translator to work as he figured what to do. He was about to send a return single when another mass registered in teh system. He did the only thing he could do and called home.


Billons of miles away

The commander of the High Lord stood on the bridge and observed his crew. It was a normal day which was something he was glad of. The High Lord was one of 13 Heavy Cruisers that formed the backbone of the Shining Fleet in readdition to 2 Battle Crusiers and a single Dreadnaught. While small for a Heavy Cruiser as it measured only roughly three and a half Klicks, it was heavly armed and it's shields were among the best. It was a normal day, that is until they got the message from the outpost. The Captain nodded nad cut the transimission.

"All hands to battlestations and ship on yellow alert. Helm, plot a course to the coordinates given and prepare a short Jump." The commander siad and watched his crew get to work. The yellow Alert whould make sure they weren't caught with thier pants down when they arrived at the scene. "Skipper the course is plotted." The captain nodded and said "bring us out." as he took his seat and prepared for what was to happen.

The sleek looking vessel powered up it's drives. The drives functioned by generating both gravitons and thier opposite anti-gravitons. This combined with powerfull inertia and acellaration dampeners allowed great speeds and menuvabillity without harm to the crew. The ship pivoted and started off on teh proper heading. The ship was capable at moving at realitivelistic speeds, but the distance made a Hyper Jump a better choice. The physics weren't entirely understood yet, but the drive basicaly used a stream of gravitons to untangle the strings that made up the universe for a split second. The ship then slipped into the space in between the strings and closed the opening behind it. By travelling between the strings, a good navagator and well built ship could travel at hundreds of c.

"Good. Helm, plot a course and engage."

The winged form of the Norexan class ship shimmered and dissapeared as she Phased into Hyperspace en route to respond to the distress signal.

Achmed listened quietly to the transmission.

"Who are this people? Do we even have a visual?"

"No, sir. Sensors are still out. We're totally blind beyond one kilometer."

"Well, send a return message. And pray to Allah they are not pirates."

Attention unidentified ship, we thank your for your offer of assistance. The Blessings of Allah be upon you. Please, identify yourself.

The S.S. Atlantis Phased back to Real Space on a one-hundred degree horizontal angle and a forty degree vertical angle from the Sephrioth Star Destroyer. The Abd Allah was fifty kilometers away.

"Hail them."

"Who?"

"Both ships."

"Got ya."

"Hey, one of the ships is a Star Destroyer from Sephrioth."

"Great. Just great."

This is the private vessel S.S. Atlantis. We are here responding to a distress signal we picked up. Please respond with your intents in this area.

The high lord exited subscace and the alarms went off. "Sir, three unknowns in sensor range." The commander nodded and cooly said "General Quarters and man all weapons. Then set me up on a universe hailing freck." when the ensign at the comm station nodded, he took a deep breath and said "To unidentified vessels. This is The First Amoung Equals . You are within the territory belonging to the Moonwoods. Please identify yourselves and stand down all weapons." Like most vessels in the fleet, the High Lord had several unofficial and semi-official nicknames besides it's own. The commander had used one of them because the phrase High Lord could mean several things and possibly insult the others. Three ships were more then he was prepared for, but he kept his cool and instructed the strikecraft to prepare and the weapons to run hot.

Attention all ships, this is Abd Allah. We are dead in space and require assistance. We Did not intend to violate anyone's territory. Please assist.

The commander of the High Lord nodded and thought for a second. "Abd Allah, this is the First Among Equals. What is the extent of your damages? We can send over an engineering crew, but any serious damage we will have to tow you back to the nearest space dock. Please advise. All others, I must insist you either follow us back or leave this system at this moment. This is not an empty threat. Repaet I am not bluffing."

Thank you First Among Equals! We have sustained a power core overlaod and were able to shut it down in time. However, it fried half our circitry. We're running on backup power.

The captain turned to Gond, his Chief Engineer. "well chief?" Gond just shook his head. They would have to bring it back to thier world. "Abd Allah. We will have to tow you. Is this acceptable? And if it is, how long can you maintain LS?" the commander told them over the comm. They would most likley have to go by subspace, but it was easier to carry a large mass by sublight speed.

The is the private ship S.S. Atlantis. We go wherever fate takes us. We are here providing relief in response to a distress signal we picked up. Any attack on us will be considered an unjustified act of agression on a vessel providing humanitarian aide and would be considered a major war crime and an act of war. How do you wish do proceed on this?

The S.S. Atlantis moved into a protective hover over the Abd Allah. She then began transporting medical personnel, egineering personnel, supplies, and equipment over to the damaged ship.
