From PM Ehud Olmert

"Greeting oh nations of the world. I would like to invite each of you personally to a summit in Tel Aviv next Friday evening. Please come personally, instead of sending a diplomat, it is of utmost importance that we speak as soon as possible. We hope you will attend, as we must speak on a matter of some urgency.

Thank you,

I shall be there. I have much news to bring to our allies about a new type of defense. A technology that should push Australia and her allies to the top of the technological market and defensive market respectfully. Shall I bring documents related to these matters in addition to current updates?

From PM Ehud Olmert

Thank you for making clear that you will attend. We are honored that you will. Yes, you may bring the plans, though they will likely be of secondary importance. This summit has been planned by Israel for one purpose only... which we will make clear when you arrive. All we can tell Australia at the moment is that it concerns peace in the Middle East.

Prime Minister Aramaki is expected to arrive at the Israeli Airport, he gets off the plane carrying what appears to be an extremely heavy briefcase.

"Heh. Back to Israel again, who would have expected it would be this early. Wonderful day for diplomacy, Alex." he said noting his aide behind him.

The man behind him smirked and fixed his blonde hair which could hardly be considered perfect. The man seemed fun loving and quite the opposite of Aramaki.

President Victor Alexandru arrives slightly after PM Aramaki.
His private 727 lands and parks near the terminal.
The pair of Mig 21 Lancers that were flying with him land soon after and make their way to the hangar to refuel.
Stepping onto the stair the President (http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f50/dvader12/victor.jpg) blinks,

"The what a beautiful day. Far less snow here then there was when left home" he chuckles.

Putting his glasses on he walks down the stairs of the plane proceeded by his security detail and looks about for a car to take him to the summit.

President Thabo Mbeki read the message that had been given to him by the ambassador to Israel. Israel was holding a conference and South Africa had not been invited? Surely there was some mistake. South Africa and Israel had been great friends, sharing military technology together. Perhaps a hint to the Israeli PM might change his mind...

"Ehud, we have most of the leaders here now. We should begin right away."

Ehud stood and rubbed his forehead. This was a moment of truth.

"Very well, have them all meet in the conference room, I will be in there shortly."

"Yes sir."

The aide walked into a room with a long mahogany table, and comfortable office chairs on each side. She took her seat near the head of the table, beside the seat intended for Ehud. She was nearly as tense as him.

She looked up to see the guards ushering the leaders in. They were only being allowed to come in one group (country) at a time, meaning a leader and an aide. That way they could be screened thoroughly for a listening device. Ehud was taking no chances on someone bugging this room. It had already been swept for bugs four or five times this morning.

The aide watched as the leaders took their assigned chairs. Each leader had a specific seat. Ehud was being very careful how he did this.

The Prime Minister Olmert would be here any moment.

OOC:

Ya'll can give your reaction to the screening and RP entering the room. The walls are bare except one overhead projector on the end near Ehud and a sheet that is projected onto.

Seeing the apparent reluctance of the rest of the leaders to enter the room, President Alexandru stepped up to enter first. Stepping into the security room he looked surprised. "What is this? do you expect me to act as some common spy?"
He sighed as the scanners passed over him. "he's clean Sir" reported the orderly.

"this had better be worth it" he thought. "scanning world leaders, I doubt everybody will accept that."
"Well?" he barked at the attendant, "Where is my seat?"

"Here sir" reported the attendant.
"Good. If possable could I also get a glass of water? Thank you" muttered the President. He sat down in his chair and waited for the other leaders to enter, wondering how they would treat the reception.

The aide watched the CBSS grumble as he took his seat. She felt he deserved an explanation.

"Sorry for all the security sir. It is not that we do not trust you, but it is very possible that someone could have slipped a bug on you without you even knowing it. That jacket you wear has pockets. We can't take any chances."

The aide leaned in towards the man and said in a hushed voice, "Israel is a dangerous place in the world. It is of the utmost importance that we keep you and your colleagues safe."

She leaned back again and said louder, "Again, I apologize for the inconvenience."

While it seemed somewhat odd to be searched, the danish PM and his aide were not particularly worried. Instead, it confirmed that this meeting had indeed been declared important from the start and the amount of care taken to protect both the visitors and themselves was a clear indicator of their seriousness.

The Danish Prime Minister did not seem disgruntled at the extra security and took his seat, waiting for the meeting to start.

While certainly not happy about being screened, Prime Minister Abe was certainly impressed with the thorough security, and made an appropriate gesture of approval to the attendants. The level of security was certainly a sign that this could prove to be an interesting conference, and he smiled inwardly as he was ushered to his seat.

The PM of Poland was very irked by the security and was definately going to make a note of that when he speaks to the PM of Israel. He sat down away from the other world leaders. Monsieur Porrot arrived rather late, considering Villepin's indecisiveness in sending him. The convoy immediately rushed him to the conference, where he passed through numerous security examinations. Aie...these people haven't lost their taste for security, I guess... he thought as he finally got through the mass of guards. He walked through the halls casually, noting the elegance of the plain facades. As he entered the room, he saw that he had not actually arrived late, with a small number of other dignitaries present. The room was a stark contrast to the hall, with an almost boring white wall, no windows, and a projector. PM Olmert was no where in sight, but it seemed obvious that he should arrive after everyone else had settled into place. The Israeli soldier brought him to a seat, next to the Russian and British seats.

Miguel Moratinos was slightly disturbed by the Israeli security, failing to understand what security threats foreign diplomats posed to this conference. But he didn't pass it through his mind for long, he was more interested in meeting some of the people that had come to attend, and especially in understanding Israeli politics, as well as those of other nations. Spain, save for Italy, had decided to take up politics that would bar foreign intervention in Africa, especially against the Australians. In fact, Madrid had already pinpointed Somalia as an area of future operations should time allow. But first, Moratinos would have to figure out the true intentions behind all these men.

He spoke, "Eli, peak your head in and tell me whether or not delegates of the major countries are here."

"Bien sur, ma femme. Je le range ce soir, avant de mon retour. Et ma chere, pourriez-vous ne pas me telephoner pendant qu'on rencontre; je me trouve en Israel, et c'est un peu trop bizarre quand vous me derangez..."

"Bien sur! Mais n'oublies pas les legumes! Le chef ne peut pas faire la cuisine..."

"Bien, alors! Je le range, je le range... Adieu..."

He returned to the room, slightly embarrassed at the house duty call. But then again, no one else seemed to care...

She sighed, "Thank you very much for your patience. I can assure you that it will pay off, and every moment will benefit the world.

I cannot tell you the exact reason for this meeting quite yet, but I can inform you that it has to do with peace and security here in the Middle East, as well as the recent pact between Israel and UAE. I can assure you it is of the utmost importance.

As of this moment, only me, the President, (Israel has both a President and PM) and Ehud Olmert alone... only us three... know of the exact nature of this meeting.

OOC: Just pretend the US came, don't do much with it though.

IC: Putin was uneasy about being scanned and new that anything could happen in Russia relating to bug technology. He walked through the scanner and BEEEEEEEEEEEP! BEEEEEEEEEEEP! BEEEEEEEEEEP! "Oh God," he thought and took off his jacket and waved it through the scanner and there was no beep. He waved it again and there was no beep. He handed the jacket to his aide and walked through again. BEEEEEEEEEP! BEEEEEEEEEEP! BEEEEEEEEEP! He calmly patted his pockets and remembered KGB tactics for finding a bug. He felt a slight bump on his collar and lifted it up and there was a small chip. He handed it to the security guard and walked through the scanner, which remained silent. His aide walked through to silence as well. Putin breathed a sigh of relief.

"I offer my security task force be combined with yours(Israel) to investigate this. I deal with this stuff all the time. Just last month, I found a gassing device under my bed that would have killed me. It's all part of being president of a country that used to track every citizen."

OOC: Someone had to have a bug and it made perfect sense for Putin to have the bug for the reasons he said.
Geneticon
11-03-2006, 14:25
OOC: Excellent... it's cool at least someone had a bug. And yes, it does make sense that Putin would have it.

I will start without the US. We'll pretend he is here and being very quiet. When Taxes shows up then he can just be here.

Finally we can get down to business.

__________

1700 hours

IC: In the conference room, the aide turned to President Putin and the other guests. "See, that is why we have the security we do. It is an important function. If we had not caught that bug, someone would have listened in."

Back in the next door room, Ehud scratched his head. Eli poked his head through the door and saw the Russian leader arrive. "Sir, everyone's here now except the leader from the UK."

"Very well, we will begin now."

Ehud stood and raked his hands through his hair once. He sighed deep. This is for all the marbles...

Ehud walked into the room with the other leaders... he remained standing.

"Hello friends, I'm glad to see you have all come." he looked around the room at some familiar faces, and some not, but all friendly. "I was beginning to worry some of you wouldn't."

Ehud shifted uncomfortably.

"Sirs, I know you are all very important men, and you all have a lot to do, but I know that your time spent here today will be worth it."

Ehud grabbed a remote control from the table and turned halfway to the projector. He hit a button and the projector became active.

"I'm sorry for all of the security, but it is of the utmost importance that NO ONE outside of the men and women in this room know what we speak about. The world actually has no idea that you all arrived. And as of 1600 hours, you were the last people to enter the country before this:"

Ehud showed the news video of how the Israelis shut down the border (See my N/D thread, post #73)

"Now I don't want you to get the wrong idea. I did not shut down the border to keep you all here, you are free to leave when you wish. I shut down the border to keep out the enemy, and keep in the Israelis."

Ehud sat in his chair now and swung to face the other leaders.

"Sirs, I come to you under the gravest of circumstances. It has been a long week here in Israel. These are dangerous times. You will notice," Ehud waved his hands at the far walls, "that this room has no window. I chose to do the summit here because just last week a sniper took a shot at me... I was only saved by kneeling over to pick up a paper I had dropped."

Ehud sighed.

"Sirs, I want to show you why you are here. Two years ago, Israel signed a protection pact with the UAE, bringing peace to the Middle East. Well sirs, the UAE have gone against the treaty, and absorbed the Palestinians. We can only guess what they plan to do next."

He hit button on the remote again, and the projector once again came to life.

"Here is the other problem my nation has.... watch this close, this is the reason you are here. This is a very disturbing video."

Ehud hit a button and the screen lit up. It was a picture of thousands and thousands of Israelis near the Western Wall. They roared towards the wall, trying to get up to the Dome of the Rock. A few hundred of the Israeli police held the massive crowd at bay.

The video had sound, and each of the leaders at the table could easily hear the unmistakable chant of the crowd. They kept saying the same thing over and over, louder and louder!! People with shovels and picks rushed at the dome, and the guards which stood in their way were beaten badly. The video zoomed in to show a bloodied police officer, who had a massive gash in his head. He threw a tear bomb into the middle of the crowd.

Ehud spoke again.

"What they are saying my friends, is 'Tear Down the Rock'. This has been going on for the last 6 days. That is why I brought you to Tel Aviv instead of my capital, it is useless to try and get anything done in Jerusalem, because the chant is so loud."

The PM turned off the projector.

"There is not much to say sirs. You know why I have brought you here... or now you mostly do. I will not be able to hold the civilians off for much longer. 34 peace keeping police officers were killed yesterday alone, just trying to hold them at bay. At the same time, hundreds of citizens have been killed. I have even moved in a portion of the military, and they have taken significant losses as well.

All is chaos my friends... and it is a result of the our possession of East Jerusalem. You see, we are planning on building the Third Temple on that Mount, and our citizens believe that there is no room, while the Rock remains there.

While there IS room, they refuse to believe it, and if they succeed in getting past my guard, they will tear down the Dome of the rock brick by brick with their bare hands.

Leaders of the world, I told you these were dire circumstances. I shut down the border because I fear that a Palestinian would enter the Dome of the Rock only to get slaughtered on one of the altars by one of the our citizens. This is a bad situation."

Ehud certainly looked grave, and he looked around the room and saw the others looked serious as well.

"But, I have solution friends. You were brought here under absolute secrecy, and only your family knows that you have gone. We have been especially careful not to leak anything to the media of this summit. When you planes landed in Tel Aviv, you landed in an out of the way place, and even then we jammed the area so your plane could not be detected by electronics.

The Muslim world does not know of this meeting. I must ask you all to continue to keep them unaware that we ever met here today.

The solution to this dilemma is simple. We have a choice. I cannot defend the holy Muslim shrine forever.

The choice is this: We must either move the dome of the rock to a safe place, or it will be destroyed.

It's as simple as that my friends. I hate to put it so bluntly, but I am doing all I can now to keep them away from what I consider to be an Infidel's temple. As long as that building remains in Jerusalem, there will not be peace in the Middle East.

I ask this. I ask that Israel be allowed to move the Dome of the Rock, using expert technology and taking fine care of it, to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The explanation that we will offer to the world is "Move it to Mecca, or it is destroyed." which is the truth..."

Ehud closed his eyes and thought, then flipped them open and looked around once more.

"Friends, I fear the wrath of the Muslim world. What I plan to do is in their best interests, and it will preserve their precious temple, but they will view it as a great evil. I fear that the Islamic Federation and OPEC nations will declare war on Israel when we try to move the dome of the rock.

There are only two ways, to change their minds. First, we have to threaten that if we are attacked, the dome will be destroyed in transit. And second, I need the support of all of you." Ehud motioned with his arms to the leaders. "If you all support our action, and give us military defense in case of attack, we have nothing to fear. If we can pull this off my friends, peace will be restored to the Middle East."

Ehud glanced at Vladimir Putin and then slowly one at a time at each of the other delegates.

"All I ask is for your approval and protection."

Ehud dipped his head, and then raised it. "Any thoughts, reactions, questions?"

you brought us all here to help you move some religous rock???thats all Gornacoff could think of. He wouldnt say what was on his mind but he knew that if Poland helped, there may be casualties, and they would die for no reason to the Polish people.
"the Republic of Poland could not help you. This does not effect us, if we did help you, we would have to get something out of it. will we get something?

Ehud turned to the Polish leader.

"What would you get out of it? Isn't that obvious? You would get peace! The Middle East has been filled with blood over these last 50 years... but this would end the struggle once and for all... and bring the world peace!

Personally, I would think that Poland would desire peace above all... seeing how if we do not act quickly, and we are not given help, it would be out of my hands. My police can only do so much. If we do not make a decisive move within the next few hours, the dome could be destroyed no matter how much we try to avoid it. That could easily plunge the world into war. Is that what you desire?

All I can offer, is Middle East peace. All I ask, is approval and support. I wouldn't expect you to send thousands of troops over to protect us Gornacoff, but I do ask that you support us warmly in trying to establish peace here."

Sitting next to Poland, Denmark decided to speak next.

"I do not see how this will achieve peace" the danish PM began "As far as I can see, you are advocating forcibly moving a holy site, in order to prevent its destruction. Yet, what I also see is that it risks being destroyed because of your actions. Perhaps you should consider not building a third temple, rather than moving the dome of the rock?"

Don Agrigento de la Mañana rolled his eyes. This entire world had turned childish. de la Mañana blasted the Israeli, "Do you even understand the importance of the Dome of the Rock? There will be absolutely no chance for peace in this region should you make this move, and you yourself express fears about such a thing being true. In fact, in your entire speech you managed to contradict yourself. You explain your quest for peace, yet you worry that the Islamic Federation will declare war on you should you move the Dome of the Rock. I fear that you misunderstand the purpose of the Dome. The Dome will not carry out the same function in Mecca - all you will do is insult the Arab world. The Dome is built on the theoritical location of Mohammad's ascendency to Jerusalem. I, as much as you, don't believe in all that bullshit, but the Arabs do, and that is the purpose of the Dome. To move it you are moving the Arab's most holysite, and you are stereotyping them by basically saying 'your only holy site should be Mecca'."

He did not stop the tongue lashing there, and he continued. Oh, how he hated both the Arabs and Jews alike - semitics were no different from each other, no matter what religion they professed [OOC: Not my real life view...being 1/4 Semetic and all]. He pressed on, "Your people are idiots. Destroy the wailing wall, and destroy the Dome of the Rock. But don't just target your Arab population. If you had any sense you would also work towards the creation of a more prosperous Palestinian state, but Israel seems as if all its education went down the drain. It's obvious enough that I oppose any plan concerning the Dome of the Rock, and should the Islamic Federation strike you will receive no help from Spain in your endeavours to protect your country."

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe winced under the massive verbal onslaught unleashed by his Israeli counterpart's proposal. While he understood the man's position, he was, like many of the other national leaders, apalled by this proposal. However, he had every intention of providing a voice of reason here, and as Don Agrigento's tirade dissipated, it was his turn to speak.

"The Japanese people have only two desires in this region right now. The first, of course, is an uninterrupted supply of oil, so desparately needed by our country." He left out the "for now" that came to mind, and continued on. "We also wish to promote and support peace. Our people have a long memory, and no better than many what can happen when people lose themselves to emotion and let violence erupt. And to that end, while we would support the intentions of this initiative, the method is another matter entirely. As some of our more vocal members have pointed out, this will do nothing less than offend the entire Arab world and galvanize them into action against Israel. This would not just be seen as an insult, but as a sign of weakness based on the reasoning behind this. Thus, Israel's enemies, both open and seething, will see this as not just a reason for war, but an opportunity for victory." He paused briefly to let all that he'd said sink in, and continued. "Moreover, if you cannot keep your own people from acting on feelings of hatred, there is not, and can not, be a true path to peace. So long as the hatred exists and is acted upon, people will inevitably fall down the path to violence and destruction. If the situation is as bad as you say, than perhaps it is fate that wills you towards yet another confrontation. While it pains me to say so, I, for one, see no possibility of genuine peace if your people are already acting like this, and cannot be calmed with reason."

OOC: Macabees... please do a little research before you make claims, the Dome is the Muslim's 3rd holiest site, not their most holy...

_________________________

IC:

Ehud stared through the Spanish leader, "You are entitled to your opinion sir, but you should not attack my descent. I made no reference belittling Spanish people (though there is plenty of things to say about them), so your personal attacks are irrelavant to this matter. I respect your opinion."

He turned to the Japanese leader, "You make a good point. I have already taken what you have spoken on into this matter."

Ehud sighed.

"How many times must I say this. There is no other way. Either we deal with this problem now, and preserve a holy site, or we let it be destroyed. There is no other alternative.

I agree that peace will certainly be disrupted for a time... but eventually the Muslims will cool off, especially as they get to have their little holy temple in their most holy city. However, I do know that as long as that Dome is on the Mount, there can never be peace. Why destroy our only hope at peace by leaving it there?!

But I do not think any of you realize the truth here. The Temple Mount and the Dome are only the third most holy site in Islam, while the Mount is the number one holy spot in Judiasm. Why should the Muslims be allowed to retain all three sites, while we have none? Answer me honestly and tell me if that is fair, especially when the site is actually part of our own territory!!!

Are there any further comments?"

After a long silence [and the memory of his wife's demands], Porrot finally stood up and addressed the crowd, to the surprise of many in the room.

"It has long been the opinion of the Republic of France that this Temple Mount site - where three of the world's greatest religions converge - this would become a problem. In our time, it has been more a problem in the recent age, with Judaism and Islam conflicting on the property. During the Suez Crisis, there was a battalion of engineers ready to demolish the Dome itself, although the operation was later canceled because the Israeli government didn't reply to our request.

"At this time, the Israeli government makes a wonderful suggestion that has the potential to relieve some of the tensions between the two worlds of Judaism and Islam - seeing as the Christian religion has lost its legitimacy over the years. France is willing to support this move, to protect a most holy site of the Muslims and promote a sense of peace about the issue. Of course, that is our opinion... We are aware of a great number of Muslims who oppose this, and thus I personally feel that we - as secular nations on the most part - should not be discussing these matters of religion and holy sites. This should have been a discussion with Israeli and their Muslim neighbors, to gain their consent to move a holy site. We - as secular governments - have no right to say or not sat whether these things should be, since it is not even our religion."

He paused as a number of leaders in the room seemed a bit unnerved. "If Israel gains the support of the Muslims, we will whole-heartedly support this move; otherwise, this meeting will have been in vain." And he sat down, waiting for a cool response, although he was uncertain whether the response would indeed be cool.

Ehud looked like he had aged 10 years in the last 45 minutes. He turned and glanced at the aide, then turned to the rest of the table.

"Friends, we have recieved a response. Saudi Arabia made no official response for the world, so we were forced to accept Pakistan's and India's. the dome of the rock is in the process of beginning to move, and I have been working closely with the company that is moving it, to ensure the workers saftey at this time."

He walked up to the edge of the table, and fell into his chair.

"Friends, we have recieved several threats from much of the Muslim world, and we are prepared to defend ourselves. Our programs are advanced, our borders are closed to all to keep out terrorists, and we are ready to take the brunt of any attack. We shall make it clear that any attempt to disrupt this plan may result in the indirect destruction of the Dome... which will be on their heads if such a thing happens."

Ehud pushed a button to show them the official response of Pakistan on the projector.

"If we are attacked, our vengence will be swift, they will stand no match. If they think they stand any more chance than those in teh Six Day War did, they don't. I will have you know my friends, that the Israeli military has been working round the clock for the past 4 years to prepare for this day. We shall defend ourselves, and the Dome, if need be.

The Dome will be heavily guarded as it moves to Mecca. If Saudi Arabia refuses to let us cross the border to safely place the Dome, we will drop it in the desert and let them deal with it themselves.

Australia has already voiced their military support if the need arises... for this they shall recieve the fighter production rights, and decreased tariffs. Are there any others here which wish to help us in such a way.

Besides that my friends, there is nothing left to report. Your planes are ready, you may, and should, leave soon..."

I cannot guarantee that we would support this if Israel could not conjure the needed support to move the Dome, especially considering that Saudi Arabia remained silent about this matter. Since that is your preferred location of relocation, you must gain consent from their government to transplant the Dome there, or otherwise what then? Where will you move it? It belongs in Makkah, with the holy sites regarded by Islam; eithere that or where it stands inn Jerusalem."
