Border Tensions between The Black Reich and United Vikingland

President Ivan Roddiro stood at the table surrounded by several generals of different capabilities. They were looking at the information in front of them that Black Reich forces had crossed into their area of control and had occupied it for several days. This boiled the blood of most politicians and excited military men in the capital of Iskora as they both believed that tensions would continue to rise against the Black Reich and United Vikingland generals believed that this would lead to conflict and the small nation would be able to expand its borders.

President Ivan Roddiro said loudly;

"Get the 1st infantry unit as well as two artillery units near the border with the Black Reich. How long will that take?"

A General responded; "It will take the artillery 16 hours however it will only take the infantry unit of 2,000 soldiers 3 hours to get there."

The President Responded;

"Good. Now, once everything is operational, we will give our list of demands to the Black Reich and if they do not respond we will attack."

The Generals smiled.

At a forward military base, Cpl Jargor starred as several soldiers ran passed. He was than ordered by his Sgt to get his flak jacket and his weapon they were going near the Black Reich border for a exercise. Several military vehicles were driven out of a hangar and Jargor immediately ran to his locker to collect his weapon and flak jacket. This was going to be interesting.

The 1st infantry unit was positioned near the border with Black Reich and a command center was set up in the forest and vehicles were cammed just in case people got suspicious. The area that had been occupied by Black Reich had been in a very low-density level of United Vikingland and there was not many people or villages around on the United Vikingland side of the border.

With nearly 2,000 soldiers, and two artillery battalions totally another 3,000 soldiers were going to be on the border in case of a conflict.

United Vikingland Demands to Black Reich:

The government of United Vikingland condem the occupation of our territory by your soldiers and this is list of demands that have to be followed by Black Reich to end any tensions that have risen between our two nations.

1. Withdraw any forces from United Vikingland

2. Pay 3,000,000 dollars for any damage commited to United Vikingland territory.

3. Notify United Vikingland authorities each time your force needs to cross into United Vikingland territory.

4. And finally, withdraw to ensure that there are no Black Reich forces within 50 miles of the United Vikingland border.

If these four demands are not met in 14 hours we will respond by invading Black Reich and instilling a government respectable to our government that respects our territory.

IC:
Premier Karl Hemmerstein looked on at the small video log being presented, the information that Black Reich forces had moved into the lands of United Vikingland startled him. "WHEN DID I GIVE AUTHORITY FOR THIS TO HAPPEN!" he snapped, General Peter Trilkin stood briskly at attention, his mouth quivering as he felt the spittle from his enraged premier fly across the room and hit his face.

The General stood rod still, but inwardly he was furious... for many years the Black Reich had been slowly, ever so slowly, building outwards. Each time it had subsumed a new area of land it had been through diplomacy and understanding, with the Premier leading the way.

This however had caused a certain amount of angst within the military, for many years it had been a bygone force, a relic of the Imperial Dynasty, the nation from which the Black Reich had risen when the overburdened and corrupt political systems had finally collapsed. Now, rather than the massive military conquests the generals were so fond of, the men of the old Imperial Army, those subsumed into the Black Reich Armed Forces, were forced to rot away conducting training exercises whilst their 'weak willed' premier tip-toed around his fellow lesser nations in the hopes of rebuilding the former glory...

His way was too slow for the generals of the Black Reich, and now, they would rebuild it their way... the old way.

"Premier Hemmerstein" General Trilkin said as he calmly walked forward, "By you're own order, the military is under my control, no?"

The Premier nodded in agreement

"Then perhaps, you will stay quiet about this little change in pace if you value your position in our glorious empire..." the general looked at the premier's desk and picked up a photo of his family, "anyway, we wouldn't want anything happening to little Mischa now would we... sir?"

The premier's face turned red, then he bowed his head "I trusted you Peter, you were like a brother..." he looked up, anger filling his eyes, "you won't get away with this Peter... the world will know what has happened here"

General Trilkin smiled, "You're right, I won't get away with it..." he motioned to two guards who had walked through the doorway, they began to drag away the Premier to the local prison.

"I already have"

Trilkin looked at the demands from United Vikingland, and promptly crumpled the paper and threw it in the trash...

We oppose foreign occupation of a nation's territory but we believe that 3 out of the four points set out by United Vikingland seem to be a wanton attack on the Black Reich almost like they want war. Therefore we propose both nations calm tensions and begin to negotiate a settlement for this area.

With the arrival of the artillery several hours ago, nearly 100 howitzers were readied on the United Vikingland side of the border. With 5,000 soldiers prepared to attack, the General in charge, Adners Koltono was ready.

Back in the capital three more infantry divisions totally 1,500 each were ordered to the border region. As they were preparing to leave for the border region, the order was given to open up with howitzers.

OOC: I will let you respond to the moving of 5,000 soldiers, before opening up with howitzers.

For the life of them, no one knew why the people of United Vikingland had attacked their border bases. Many had thought it strange that this nation, one that had lived beside them quietly for many years, would suddenly begin an unprovoked attack. But nevertheless, Black Reich forces had pursued the enemy units responsible, and now found themselves cut off when an enemy infantry battalion had flanked behind their line of retreat.

No one, not even the generals in either United Vikingland or the Black Reich knew they were being played against one another - all except one certain general now in command of the Black Reich itself and his own forces lurking in the shadows...

MEANWHILE, SOMEWHERE JUST INSIDE UNITED VIKINGLAND TERRITORY

For a forward operating base located inside enemy territory, Camp Markson was indeed well built. Utilising the best of the old Imperial Army equipment left after the collapse - the facility had running water, beds, and most importantly hot showers and hot chow. At least that was what was important any other day...

Today however, it was the fact that it had bunkers capable of surviving artillery bombardment that was the most important feature.

"INCOMING!" Screamed corporal Stansken as another cascade of enemy artillery began to rain down on the position. Scrambling into cover Jamie Stansken was thrown to the ground by the force of impact from a nearby artillery hit. His world shook and his ears dulled out as he looked around in stunned awe, one man hadn’t made his foxhole, and was now a bloody mess from the waist down – his screams cut short by another soldier who took pity on him – a single muzzle flash, and the man who was as good as dead jerked then lay still.

Further along, another unfortunate soul was dragging his right leg behind him as he half scrambled, half hobbled to a trench, the shock of the injury keeping him from noticing that most of his right leg was dangling by a couple of threads of tissue.

Corporal Stansken shook the images from his head, collecting his thoughts again before turning around. As the bombardment continued he looked over to the grimy trooper beside him, a fellow corporal, and grinned "I don't think they like us being on this ridgeline pal", the chuckles from the other man said he believed in something similar.

The sound of the artillery shells change and a distinct hissing filled the air, “IT’S A SMOKESCREEN! PREPARE FOR ENEMY ENGAGEMENT!” someone called.

Peter grabbed for his rifle, a Mark II SLF, and stared down the sights. Sure enough, within a few moments of the last few rounds hitting the ground the enemy infantry began to advance. They wore a similar camouflage pattern uniform to those of the Black Reich (maybe they were part of the Old Imperial Army too? Peter thought to himself) and followed a similar style of attack…

BANG! BANG! BANG! Peter’s rifle blossomed a spurt of flame with each squeezing of his trigger, and as each brass casing flung towards the ground another target was taken up. As his first target went down, clutching his neck in horror and surprise the rest of his fellow troops flung themselves to ground within whatever cover they could find.

A few blasted tree-stumps clumped together had proven to be an invaluable hiding spot for enemy troops in past attacks, and it was doing a similar job now, until the enemy soldiers stepped on the mines planted within that dead ground the night before. The sight of a man being flung through the air showed that the mines had done their job admirably.

Peter continued scanning as the trooper beside him opened up with his Mk1 Automatic rifle, the hot shell casings flying into his face “AAAGH! GODDAMMIT!” Peter yelled as a trio of hot casings slid down his neck and into his shirt.

His struggles to remove the offending shell were soon replaced by different struggles altogether when his sudden movement caught the eye of an enemy sharpshooter…

And so it began, another day at the office…

United Vikingland Howitzers bombed the Black Reich forces with another round of artillery shells explosions rocking the ground as three more units arrived bringing it to 10,000 United Vikingland soldiers on the border.

Sgt Ancorv along with his platoon of soldiers opened up on the Black Reich forces. Bullets wizzed by as bullets were fired back at the advancing United Vikingland forces two falling to bullets. Sgt Ancorv tossed two grenades at a machine gun implacement resulting in it exploding. Screams from both sides could be heard.

A bullet then hit Sgt Ancorv in the shoulder and he fell to the ground, but when a Black Reich soldier came up upon him he thrusted his rifle into the man's gut which resulted in him falling to the ground, and he then shot the guy several times.

Howitzers lit up the night sky as the boom deafened both sides in the conflict. Sgt Ancorv had been taken back to the field hospital along with other wounded soldiers. As he passed by he could see two United Vikingland soldiers lying on the ground with sheets covering their bodies. They were probably the two soldiers that had been apart of his platoon. Sighing he lied back against the stretcher and was carried into the field hospital where a doctor was quick to work on him.

Back out on the field, about 300 United Vikingland soldiers rushed from their position and attacked a long line of Black Reich forces. Machine gun fire darted through the night at the soldiers and several fell to the shots fired from the Black Reich line. However, the soldiers than fired there assault rifles at the Black Reich line, and took cover behins rubble and broken trees.

Machine gun fire pinged off rocks or trees and several grenades were tossed at the Black Reich line exploding once they got close. The soldiers than moved again facing hostile fire, several others dropping and they returned fire on the Black Reich line. The United Vikingland forces than charged the line and began to clash with the Black Reich forces. They swung weapons and clashed with the Black Reich forces as another group of United Vikingland soldiers around about 400 charged forward and attacked the Black Reich line as well.

It appeared that United Vikingland had the upper hand but with soldiers falling from both sides it was unsure who was going to win.

Black Reich forces were still ahead of the United Vikingland forces. Injured and dead United vikingland forces were taken to the field hospital and howitzer shells were fired continuiously at the Black Reich forces. Sgt Ancorv had a arm wrap wrapped tightly around his arm blood having dried up quickly.

Fighting and machine gun fire was reported.

About twenty five United Vikingland bombers flew into Black Reich airspace and dropped over 30 tonnes of bombs on a andanvcing convoy of Black Reich soldiers inside Black Reich territory. Machine gun and anti air craft fire responded hitting one airplane which crashed to the ground. Only three of the seven on board survived the crash.

Fighting was beginning to cease in the border region. United Vikingland forces were desisting from the assault after gaining strategic territory. Fighting had been hard but most of the wounded and the dead had been now taken away from the battle field and now 20,000 soldiers fresh ready for conflict was placed on the newly grabbed territory.

The death toll on the United Vikingland side was:

327 soldiers dead
35 presumed missing and feared captured.

Injured

679 soldiers wounded

It was unknown what the Black Reich casualties were but unconfirmed reports were that over several hundred had been captured in the fighting.

WITHIN CAMP MARKSON

"HOLD YOUR POSITION! HOLD - YOUR - POSITION!" Bellowed corporal Stansken. He watched with a mix of awe and shock as the United Vikingland troops continued to engage their front line, even with their own artillery continuing to bombard the position. It was a risky venture to say the least, and already it had had a rather dismal affect on both sides - one high note for Peter being when he watched a whole enemy platoon get wiped out by none other than their own artillery, the shells from that lot having fell short of their target and instead landing amidst their own men...

Vikelander artillery falls short of the camp itself. These two rounds were later found to be directly responsible for the death of a pair of demolitions soldiers, resulting in the failure of the photographed attack and a significant increase in casualities.

Peter winced in pain, that bullet the sharpshooter had fired had done a good deal of damage, he could barely move his left shoulder, most of it being a bloodied mess of entry and exit wounds. However, in Peter's own words to the medic "I can still fire a rifle", and so the medic, despite preferring to have him sent back to the camps medical facility had let him fight on.

A loud KRAK! from his right made Peters look that direction. He looked just in time to see a man wearing Sergeant's stripes through another stick grenade into the east flanks second gun pit. The ensuing screams signifying some people were now finding out how unpleasant grenades were in a bunker. Peter steadied his left arm on the side of the pit and aimed at the sergeant's torso "Time to die you sonofabitch" and squeezed the trigger...

Instants after the sergeant began to turn to face an oncoming soldier who had scrambled from the pit, the round struck home on his targets shoulder, and he fell, the Reichan soldier moing forward began to bring his bayonet down, but a sudden jerk, and the Reichan crumpling to the ground told a different story. The enemy sergeant got up and pumped the man with several rounds.

Gritting his teeth Peter snarled "now you WILL die!", he was readying his rifle when a sudden TWANG! THWACK THWACK! TING! of incoming rounds splintering wood and striking steel supports made him drop for cover. When Peter got up, the enemy sergeant was nowhere to be seen... instead, there was a clearing in the smoke.

Peter's eyes grew wide in astonishment, as did more than a few other Reichan's eyes... "sweet mother of god, it's a veritable horde" he managed to whisper. And a horde it was, from their place on the ridgeline they could see everything below, in front, just out of range of machine gun fire were easily a few hundred enemy soldiers, and behind them, a few hundred more... all of which were moving in formation.

"What the heck, why are they doing that?" he heard the other corporal in his pit say. "Because," Peter answered, "they know with that number, we ain't gonna make it... this is the big push" Coporal stansken looked down the valley at them again, they were about five hundred metres out now, and beginning to break up into assault groups of twenty man platoons... facing against fifty odd platoons of enemy soldiers, a good size of the enemies army, were some hundred odd defenders and a few light vehicles that had not been destroyed by artillery already. The changes of survival looked slim indeed...

Just the way Stansken liked it... grimacing determindley he loaded a fresh clip into his SLF and bellowed "WELL IF THIS IS THE BIG PUSH! I SAY WE PUSH BACK!" as a new flare streaked into the night sky from their position he yelled "GIVE 'EM THE BUSINESS BOYS!!!"

An entire arsenals worth of ammunition flew downrange and lit the night sky, droves of the enemy fell in each instant, rounds that missed sparking into the dawn sky - the occaisional streaking round igniting the air around it as it richocheted.

A picture of the battle from a nearby village shows an incoming artillery barrage as well as impacting rounds from the last barrage. To the right can be seen the outline of camp Markson itself.

Yet for every man down another two replaced him, there just weren't enough Reichan troops to hold them back. The red sunlight of early morning added an eerie hue to the scene of death, and the improving light helped both sides with accuracy significantly. As such the bombardments began again, if only sporadically ("The infantry commanders must have ripped their arty a new one for firing when they were advancing in" Peter mused to himself as he nailed another Vikelander) it was during one of these such bombardments that Peter noticed that gun pit 2 was again recieving the attention of the enemy, this time in a much more sinister fashion...

FFFWOOOOOOOOSSSSSSHHHHHH!!!!! That sound struck fear into all but the most steeled of soldiers, it was the sound of a flame-thrower... men ran from the gun pit covered in flames, their shrieks and screams sounding more like tortured creatures than those of a human being... seconds after the victory against pit 2, the flame trooper was enveloped in his own flames as a Reichan bullet compromised the tanks integrity, moments later the man exploded as the main propellant ignited, showering all around him in blood and flaming fuel... it was utter carnage, a Vikelander clawing at his burning face, another screaming in sheer terror as his uniform ignited around him, an unfortunate man calmly walking forward... with one entire side of him charred to the bone... and numerous other horror stories.

A Vikelander flame trooper unleashes hell on pit 2...

Peter felt cold inside, he'd seen some terrible things in his time, but never anything that foul and despicable, he swayed slightly and promptly threw up over his boots. The corporal besides him looked over from his own autorifle and pat him on the shoulder, "relax mate, it's normal when you see that first time" the distant look in the other man's eyes told Peter this man had seen many more things, "you'll have to fight through it mate... or you won't survive another wave" and without waiting for acknowledgement he went back to blazing away.

...

The men in his trench definitely were NOT Reichans, BOOM BOOM BOOM! The sound of his 'trench sweeper' shotgun was music PFC Damien Layne's ears, as part of the 'clearing team' it was his job to race around with his bad-ass shotgun and make short work of any enemy soldiers who had the nerve to find a break in the line. Stepping over the steaming bodies of his targets Layne brought his shotgun butt into the skull of a Vikelander, viciously striking the man's jaw to an angle it was never designed for. Swinging again Layne's arms jarred as he blocked a retalitory buttstroke from an enemy soldier.

Backing away from each other momentarily PFC Layne took in his foe, he was young, about the same early 20's age, the mixture of fear and hatred in his eye was seemingly similar too. What was different was the sharpened E-tool his adversary had magically conjured from somewhere.

The Vikelander charged, swinging the E-tool wildly as he screamed out in anger. Layne jumped backwards for all he was worth, the stinging sensation across his chest telling him it was not far enough "At least you're alive, get back in the fight" his mind told him. Swining his shotgun like a club he connected with the Vikelanders E-tool on its second swing, ripping the tool from his opponents' hands, he delivered a swift kick, his steel capped combat boots finding their target with a sickening SNAP! The Vikelander shrieked and fell to the ground, his left shin now disturbingly forming an 'L' on the ground.

Layne swung his rifle again golf style and connected with the young man's jaw, a jarring CRACK! filled the air as the man's head snapped backwards, as did his neck.

Layne roared in fury, bloodlust overtaking all logical thought as he swung again, digging the shotgun into the man's skull repeatedly until all that was left was blood and scattered fragments of skull and brain matter... looking at the mess before him Layne slumped to his knees and began sobbing. Another member of the fire-team came around the corner "Oi! Daymo! What the hell are you do..." he jumped in shock "SHIT!", the other trooper looked for a few seconds at Damien, and then the mangled body before him, "well Daymo, that's one way to get rid of 'em" he grabbed Layne and forcibly lifted him, "pull it together son, there's plenty more here eager to meet you". The trooper brushed him down and patted him on the shoulder, "we only got to hold out ten more minutes, boss says we got a surprise coming there way"

"Well, it better get here soon" Layne managed to say as he pointed down the slope, "'cause here comes the rest of 'em"

ABOVE VIKELANDER AIRSPACE, THAT SAME TIME

"Skyguard flight, this is Skyguard ground over" the tinny voice of the radar operator back in Reichan territory brought pilot Dodson back from his own little world of watching for the enemy bombers...

"Skyguard ground this is skyguard two... send over" Flight Lieutenant Rick Dodson said as his wingman returned the call as well

"Skyguard flight this is Skyguard ground, targets are tracked heading your direction bearing Zero-Niner-Niner degrees angels two-zero-zero-zero over"

"Roger skyguard ground, proceeding to engage over", a slow movement of the throttle and the planes two engines picked up speed with a noticeable pull forward.

"Roger that, good huntings boys, skyguard ground out"

...

"Well Ted, seems we have ourselves a right old turkey shoot coming our way after all hey?" beamed Rick as he and his wingman came across the Vikelander bombers, a whoop of glee from his friend was more than enough of a reply.

The two planes they were flying were absolute monsters, the Packard-Tider Industries Decimator Mark IV, an aircraft designed for use as a multi-role system, among which included the roles of close ground support, heavy fighter, and more recently, bomber destroyer. These two aircraft were armed to the teeth with heavy calibre cannons and heavy rockets.

The two Decimators prepare to engage (disregard the swastikas... dirty nazis brrr)
http://www.luft-art.de/images/paintings/me410-l.jpg

The two aircraft slid into position slightly up and behind the bombers, which were seemingly staying together for better protection from this new threat. To go unescorted as they had was a pretty tough call, to get out so relatively unscathed, yet cause so much damage to the reinforcements for Camp Markson had been plain rude in Rick's eyes.

Now it was time to make them earn there keep...

"Skyguard two claims rockets away" he called over the mike, an instant later, the four big rockets thundered from their tubes and arced towards the bomber formation. As the rockets closed they split apart into six smaller aerodynamic warheads, each warhead having roughly the same explosive power as a 30 millimetre cannon shell. The resulting cluster field looked amazing in the air as two dozen black puffs filled the air around one three plane package. One of the aircraft began to peel out of formation, the smoke pouring from its two left wing engines denoting some serious issues on board.

"Tally ho, that one's mine" Rick said... he looked up and watched in surprise as another one of the enemy aircraft suddenly lost its right wing and began to spiral out of control - the victim of a number of bomblets from Flying Officer Ted Yokasa's rockets.

The first one down...
http://hometown.aol.com/go229a0/images/b-17wing.jpg

As Ted raced in and began his own decimation of the enemy bombers, Rick lined his up for its final dance, the BOOM - - BOOM - - BOOM of his twin 30mm cannons and the slightly fast POM-POM-POM-POM-POM of the four twenty millimetres cannons were the best sounds in the world as he watched the enemy bomber in front of him disintegrate in a cloud of explosive. The bomber lurched sickeningly, then burst into flame and proceeded towards the ground... the other enemy bombers lit up the sky with their machine guns - but the slaughter was only just beginning.

SOMEWHERE IN CAMP MARKSON

Somehow, despite their best efforts, the camp was lost... a number of the survivors, those that had been simply too wounded to take out, had been left for the enemy to capture...

Corporal Stansken shook his head in disbelief - although he knew what they had done was right for the men who had been captured, it was astounding to think, that out of a force of four hundred and eighty three men, over half had been either captured or killed. The fact that they had been unable to hold out for another ten minutes had been simply due to the enemies final push, it was just too big to comprehend, the fact that the men had continued running at the lines despite the fact that they were being mown down in droves had given Peter a new level of respect for the enemy. The fact that the surprise in the form of a mechanised infantry battalion had suffered heavy casualties from a roving band of heavy bombers had meant that surrender was the only option except fighting to the death.

DEAD: 137
WOUNDED (Captured): 108
WOUNDED (Free): 58
ESCAPEES: 143
MISSING: 37

The enemy openly stated that they had suffered roughly half its number in casulaties, with over a thousand five hundred troops attacking the target, it had been no surprise to Peter to hear those losses, especially with the way they had run through their own artillery AND the guns of their enemies...

What had surprised high command though was the sudden increase in units within the area of operations. An extra 20,000 combat personnel alone was a significant number for any small nation, intelligence had suggested that most of these individuals were conscripts, and hence of little real fighting value.

Nevertheless, there was still two more cards that the Reichans had to play in this area before they moved out...

...

ABOVE EX CAMP MARKSON

The three aircraft were waiting patiently above the captured base for the order to go. Having just cruised in from the east they were ready for action and hoping to teach the arrogant Vikelanders a lesson in humility before their anti-aircraft defences could be brought into action. A few hundred feet below them cruised another six aircraft, bigger planes ready to do some more permanent damage...

The three plane force moves in...
http://www.warbirds.be/web/e107_files/eigen/d4y2.jpg

A small video screen appeared before them on their cockpit displays "about bloody time" Flying Officer Michael Rae stated to himself as the target cursors from Forward Air Controllers on the ground lit up areas of ground.

The three dive bombers inched their noses down and began their screaming descents, as they began to level out they each launched a single large bomb from their bomb bays...

Each bomb was an aerosol bomb - spraying the air with a fine mist that, to the troops being covered by the substance, smelt a lot like gasoline - at least it did to the survivors anyway.

Then the bombs all exploded within the gasoline soaked air... the result was horrific.

Two of the weapons hit within a large group of troops who had recently arrived, intelligence estimated that rough figures of a thousand troops were bracketed by the two fuel air bombs that struck the formation. The third bomb however, struck a small gathering of light armour that had followed behind the infantry, obliterating every vehicle within its blast.

As the three dive bombers sped home, the anti-aircraft systems that had been set up were finally brought into life. The air was filled with tracers and gunfire as the six heavy bombers roared into view... surprisingly, unlike normal situations, these bombers were racing at breakneck speed at treetop level!

Sprinting over the wildly running enemy infantry, four of the bombers unleashed a barrage of retarded high explosive and cluster bombs. The other two sped off towards the howitzers that had caused so much trouble. One bomber attacking the enemy infantry was not so lucky as the first wave, a freak hit by light anti-aircraft cannon fire shredded the rear fuselage, and upon returning to base the stresses on the weakened structure caused the body to snap in two, another was forced to crash land just across the Black reich border after suffering considerable damage to its engines.

The results of the retaliation strike were, however, exactly what was required. A number of the pesky howitzers were damaged or destroyed, and a significant number of the enemy infantry (if the screams we hear are anything to go by thought Corporal Stansken) were now charred ruins.

THE BLACK REICH CAPITAL

The young woman ran, she ran as fast as her legs would allow, and then faster. She had to make it to the consulate zone and within the gates of any one of the many neutral nations consulates that were there. She didn't care which one - all that mattered was what she had in her briefcase had to get to the grounds. Inside her briefcase sat the information about the greatest silent upheaval in all of the Black reich's history.

Many had seen the proclamations of war by the Premier after the loss of the base just on the other side of the border, his trusted colleague and friend the newly promoted "High Commander" standing to his side and just behind.

Many had also seen the significant buildup of military forces in the area, and felt quite uneasy. What many did NOT know, was that the premier was being puppeteered.

But she knew, she knew all too well... for she was none other than the daughter of the premier... Mischa.

"THERE SHE IS! STOP HER!" The sound of military boots pounding down the street after her made Mischa squeal in fright as she kept on running, the sound of bullets zipping through the air behind her made others scream too. But still she kept running, she had to make it to the consulates, if anything, getting to the United Vikingland consulate (which, surprisingly enough, still remained open as a place for those loyal to UV to escape through) would be a dream come true.

She began yelling as she kept running "HELP ME! I HAVE INFORMATION THAT CAN CHANGE THIS WAR! HELP! HELP!"

The attack from the bombers on the infantry resulted in

Dead: 139
Injuried: 661

However with the direct hit on the convoy that had tried to relieve it and the capture of Camp Markson and the taking of 111 Black Reich soldiers prisoner the United Vikingland forces were extremely happy. However with the strike over 15 + Howitzers had been destroyed and another 11 had to be repaired. About 1/4 of their howitzer supply for the battle.

But with

500 Vikingland soldiers dead in total along with 1,300 injured and 42 feared captured it wasn't a bad fight.

-------------

Operations Command (Capital):

The fighting on the border and the capture of the camp of Black Reich forces was an excellent victory. Now President Ivan Riggiro was moving a mechanized division as well as two infantry divisons, a total of 7,500 soldiers over the Black Reich border about 100 miles north of the first battle. With this they were going to set up a forward base and capture a small town that laid within fifteen miles of the border. With the battle plan approved, the town and area was going to go under a bombing attempt by 30 bombers who were to be guarded by 60 fighter planes.

-----------

At the United Vikingland consulate the cries of the woman could be heard and a machine gun placed on top of the consulate opened fire on the Black Reich soldiers behind her, along with several pistols and other weapons. Bullets were exchanged by both sides as several soldiers came out and escorted the woman into the consulate. Outside lay several Black Reich soldiers. And two injured United Vikingland soldiers were treated by a medic.

Killed: 0

Injured: 3

-------------

A mechanized division follwed by two infantry divisions headed towards the border of their enemy the Black Reich. It would be another few hours but by the time they reached the border, hopefully the Black Reich defenses would not be ready.

In the air flew an armada of 30 bombers and 60 fighter planes who headed into Black Reich territory. Spotting the town, a reasonable sized town as a target they saw a military base right to the side of the town as well. Anti-aircraft fire rose up from the ground and one bomber was struck and crash landed in a field just a mile outside of town killing 3 of the seven on board. The bombers than began to drop bombs on the town and on the military base to the right of the town. Explosions lighting up and smoke rising into the air. However, anti-aircraft fire continued to come up at them and a fighter plane was hit and actually exploded killing the two pilots and a second bomber was hit and crash landed as well in a burst of flames killing 5 out of the seven on board.

However the bombing was a good run and the town and the base received extensive damage.

Killed: 10

Missing feared captured: 6

-----------

Ian Giguerre grabbed his body and dragged him out of the burning plane he could see flames lick up to the sky from the town and from the military base. His friend Roy had a cut to his head but seemed okay. Just 400 yards away, the four other crewmen from the other bomber were okay, none of them to badly injured. However, all six froze when they saw a military jeep drive up with its occupants pointing guns at the six. Would they be killed or would they be captives?

OOC: Doesn't someone else want to participate in this little border war that appears to have gone from a little border war into a full blown conflict between two sides. I think it is really interesting and you guys don't know what you are missing.

IC:

In the capital of United Vikingland, citizens were waking up to the news that over 500 soldiers had been killed in an intense border battle with the Black Reich one of their neighbors. It surprised and shocked alot of United Vikingland people in the capital at least but once that shock faded away it turned to anger.

Quickly nearly three dozen armed men followed by 15 soldiers from the local garrison marched on the Black Reich consulate and opened fire on the consulate with hunting rifles and machine guns brought by the troops. Bullets tore through windows and left holes in the concrete as rifle fire was returned at the 45 or so men firing at the consulate. Then several molotov cocktails were thrown at the consulate, one falling inside the fence but on the walkway two missing completely and two luckily went in a third story window, and smoke began to billow from the third story.

The 7,500 soldiers in the mechanized and infantry divisions crossed the Black Reich border, 50 miles North of the battle that had left nearly 500 United Vikingland soldiers and nearly 200+ Black Reich soldiers dead. United Vikingland forces could see the flames from the bombing of the military base and the town. So far no defense from Black Reich.

Union City, the capital of Gibraltarland

President Herman Chonsy heard the grim reports from the war. He knew little about the combatants but he resolved to find out everything he could.

A Gibraltarish family of five had been hiking in the disputed area when the attack happened. Their story had spread across the nation and now people were demanding the military be sent to find them. Chonsy didn't see the logic of sending troops into a war zone over five people but an election was coming. Those five civilians safety would mean the difference to his staying in office or going back to his home in Lesli City for an early retirement.

Executive Order 18912

By order of the President 500 military personnel shall be dispatched to the conflict area. Their mission is to find the whereabouts of Ed, Charlene, Steven, Jon, and Samantha Cobee. If any Black Reich or United Vikingland forces interfere they are authorized to defend themselves.

For the last few hours, the Reichan recon team had been following the unknown military units, slowly but surely they had crept through the jungle floor beside and behind the advancing force. Yet still they knew little, if anything of these people, after all, the fact that the small ten men recon team had not been wiped out to a man was simply through the sheer luck and good eyesight of their forward scout - who just so happened to be looking in the right direction when the small unknown force landed upon their shores...

It was surprising how quickly news of the war had filtered back to the outside world. With the sudden and near instantaneous loss of Camp Markson to the extremely aggressive Vikelanders - and their continued advance towards Reichan territory, there was reports that other nations were now considering military action of their own...

This, however, seemed to be a suggestion that one nation in particular had already decided that actions spoke louder than words...

"Why the heck did they come in here, and who the heck are they?" whispered one of the troopers to another as they slowly slid down one of the many clay embankments they had come across.

"Beats me" said the groups Warrant Officer as he wiped some of the larger clumps of mud and clay from his uniform, "but we gotta find out now or else they're gonna be in for one hell of a surprise when they hit our forward base" he smiled, his teeth a glistening white against his heavily cammed face... "besides, bosses orders" he said as he looked back at the other eight men who were covering them, at least they'd go down fighting if these guys turned out to be hostile as all hell...

The two men began to walk through the foliage, intent on talking to someone who could explain exactly why five hundred troops and their supporting elements had recently landed within Reichan territory.

...

After reading the telegram from a nation calling itself Qxilua, self-appointed High General Trilkin looked over to his companion... the man who was bound to the chair in the room, a small line of dried blood lining one side of his mouth "Well Karl, it seems that this little spat between my troops..."

"THEY ARE NOT YOUR TROOPS! THEY ARE THE DEFENDERS OF THE EMPIRE AND YO..." Premier Hemmerstein was knocked to the ground by a backhand from the High General - the dried trickle of blood was wetted again as the flow began anew. Grasping the premier tightly by his jaw High General Trilkin pulled the bound premier up from the floor and stared into his eyes, "They are MY MEN now Karl... MY MEN! They are not just th defenders of your pitiful excuse for 'peaceful expansion'... they are the MINE to command... MINE to order, and if I say to them to attack, they will!" He smiled sadistically and softly said "Of course, it's all comes from you most assuredly..."

"Mischa will get the word out of your horrible efforts" Hemmerstein hissed. Trilkin just smiled wider, "are you sure of that premier, seeing as she is currently feeling a little lighter than normal" he held up a picture for the premier, it was a young woman who looked remarkably like Mischa, face down and blood pooled around her.

The premier turned white and whispered "I'll kill you myself you bastard"...

Trilkin smiled again, even broader "In your dreams Karl... in... your... dreams..."

Colonel Sharini wondered what the hell she was doing here.

Her nation had just entered another war overseas and here were five hundred troops looking for some missing campers. While good men and women were about to be dying in the land known as Tlska she and 499 others were off on some errand. She hated it.

But orders were orders. They were in the war-ravaged area searching for clues as to the Cobee's location. They were checking each corpse, which frustrated Sharini even more.

Then she heard a noise. It wasn’t one of her men, she was positive on that. Was there someone else here?

"Sharini to Granson." She said to her XO.

"Granson here." He said.

"Richard prepare for possible contacts. That’s it."

Now she waited.

The 7,500 soldiers in the three United Vikingland divisions moved deeper into Black Reich territory. After heading in 10 miles they were on the outskirts of the community and the military bases. With that infantry men entered the town and responded with gunfire at enemy forces and at any civilians who might appear out of burned out buildings. Bullets whizzed by hitting the chunk of wood as infantry men took up positions and such.

Cpl Anderson could see the bodies of two women in a burned out house as bullets whized by him striking the infantryman next to him who fell forward into the building. The tanks on top of the dune launched tank shells and other artillery at the military base, several of the shells landing in the town. Fighting was slow and swift through the houses, as each house was cleared of enemy forces. Several dozen civlians were found in the rubble, and they were brought to the rear to meet with medics who would deal with their injuries and try to unite families.

So far casualties were light on the civilian side and on the United Vikingland side.

United Vikingland Offer to Black Reich:

We propose an end to this conflict with the handing over of 1/10 of your country that is north of the first battle surrounding the town that has been bombed by our forces. We will likewise give you five miles inwards to our territory near what you labelled Camp Mason, and we will hand that 5 or ten miles of territory to you.

Now we would like to discuss this transfer of territory, and how many miles and people will be transfered from your country. The number of miles is negotiatable.

Commander Tyler Robins looked down into the burning city of Dasvaris and shook his head in dismay. To think that the enemy got this far with their blitzkrieg attacks before asking for a ceasefire surprised him - he'd personally expected a much more aggressive stance... the fact that they had wantonly butchered everyone in the city, men, women and children - the young and the elderly alike - made him and all his men all the more happy to return the favour with more than enough interest.

"I'm glad we are recording this" he murmured to himself, he looked over to the electronics team standing beside him, a powerful magnification lens was fitted to a film recorder, one that was busily filming the atrocities taking place right before there very eyes. This information, loaded into the computer systems, was being sent to Reichan news stations, from which it would be displayed around the globe. At least this atrocity would not go unanswered.

"Captain Fredrickson, is the special weaponry ready for deployment?" he asked as he viewed another Vikelander trooper mercilessly gunning down a screaming civilian.

"Yes sir" the captain said, he paused, "sir, if we do this, won't we kill our own people as well?" The general turned around and nodded his head, "aye, indeed we may, though some will survive;" he pointed down to the city below "though if we let those dogs continue to run wild, there will be no one left in that city for us to save, regardless of what weapons we use". The captain nodded in agreement, as any under ranking member would, "very well sir, yes, the weapons are ready and awaiting your command to be launched".

...

An hour later, the first Reichan counter-attack began.

It was surprising the speed at which the Vikelander forces had taken camp Markson, and then moved on to the city of Dasvaris across the open scrubland terrain that petered out from the mountainous valleys of Camp Markson. The distance travelled was normally a three day trip, however, having sped well ahead, the mechanised elements had made the trip and engaged the relatively lightly defended town. However, in their haste to make war with their enemies, the Vikelanders had forgotten two very important elements to warfare - never overstretch your supply chain when in enemy territory, and never engage on such a small front...

They were about to pay the price for their reckless attack on the city of Dasvaris in the dearest currency possible - human blood.

...

OPERATION TOUCH OF DEATH - Phase 1 of the Reichan counter-attack

The small recon platoons had moved forward in the pre-dawn darkness of the eighth day of the Vikelander engagement of Dasvaris. Around fifty men, in small three man teams, some with limited mechanised support in the form of motorcycles and modified scout cars had taken positions around the city, their large radio-designation systems set up and ready to relay positions to the artillery in the distance. Some of the men were armed with a new weapon in the Reichan military, the powerful Mark 1b Anti-Material Rifle. Their mission was to engage any targets of opportunity and essentially drive the Vikelanders to ground or risk recieving a powerful 13mm round in the face.

The new Mark 1b Anti-Material Rifle of Reichan forces
http://world.guns.ru/sniper/ksvk.jpg

In the pre-dawn light, the first powerful KRAK! of the heavy sniper rifles filled the air as one officer who was taking a shower suddenly found half his body smeared on the floor before him seconds before he registered his own death. Another krak, followed by another signified the end of an enemy radar that had been recently brought forward...

The counter-attacking force was huge, bunkered down and ready to roll.

The main force, comprising of a powerful combined arms force of armour, artillery, infantry and aerial support, was more than ready to engage, and on the sides of the Vikelander advance lay numerous numbers of other border defence forces.

Without overly stretching the border units, commander Robins had successfully managed to pull together two smaller attacking forces from the local garrisons that would encircle the enemy units, and then link up to form another equally sized force.

In all, combined with the survivors of the city and the remnants of both Camp Markson and its bombed support convoy, commander Robins had roughly 6,000 soldiers at his command, with another 4,500 troops in supporting roles. He had 480 vehicles, of which 127 were tanks, 170 armoured personnel carriers and 183 trucks and lorries for logistics and troop transport behind the front lines.

Lighter SPG artillery in position ready for bombardment
http://www.wargamer.com/Hosted/Panzer/artil3.jpg

His artillery comprised of 60 tubes, both towed and self-propelled, 46 anti-aircraft units, and an artillery units worth of 40 rocket artillery pieces.

Unbelieveably, a lot of this equipment had only just left Dasvaris a few hours before the Vikelander push into the region... it had been all part of the plan from the start. The only difference being that commander Robins had never expected such wanton slaughter... the reason for their seemingly sudden re-appearance was simple, they had done that just, re-appeared - above the earth...

The Black Reich had always expected that one day their borders would be attacked, and as such had devised a plan that required guile, tact, and a willingness to allow for some serious sacrifices if it were to work. The region around Dasvaris, like any other city around the borderlands; was home to an enormous network of underground facilties designed to hide a force large enough to engage the enemy in a huge flanking attack. That was exactly what they would do today...

The first radio signals were coming through from the target markers in the front lines. The fact that the radios were getting through meant one thing, communication would be perfect for the time being, and as such had to be used to full. "Captain, have the order to begin the fire missions sent, get the attack squadrons engaging their pre-designated targets and prepare the attack, we go in twenty minutes..." he absent-mindedly looked on for a moment, then added "and deploy the special weapons"...

...

ABOVE DASVARIS

The droning of their engines normally was a comfort to Flying Officer Rae, and the knowledge that they had the power to take life away with their cargo often gave him a feeling of superiority... yet today, his cargo felt all the more sinister. Rather than the usual payload of an explosive bomb in his fuselage or some rockets on his wings was instead a whole new weapon. The wing pylons were equipped with a strange nozzle setup, and inside his fuselage bay now sat a pressurised cylinder of gas... nerve gas.

'Special weapon' equipped ground attack planes preparing for launch

Another ground attack aircraft, this one specialising in anti-armour attack
http://www.fortunecity.com/meltingpot/portland/971/boxart/italeri/italeri_hs129.jpg

Another section of planes flying ahead, similar planes, carried another variety of gas known as blood agents, also commonly called 'Canister killers' by those in the know. Canister killers were important in chemical warfare, under normal circumstances, a gas masks filtration cylinder will last a few hours, canister killers, as their name suggest, destroy the canister much more quickly. Henceforth canister life decreases to a mere few minutes... then the nerve agent takes effect...

High above them he watched as their fighter cover began to engage with Vikelander interceptors patrolling the city skies... he just hoped to hell they would keep the enemy planes off their tails after he'd dropped his load... he didn't want to crash into the chemical quagmire below, not for anything in the world.

...

A FEW MINUTES EARLIER...

As the last of the close support aircraft screamed overhead towards their designated spray zones the artillery commander looked over from his command post, "well gentlemen, the radar images are in, load the special parcels and the guiders as well, fire on my command".

The 'special parcels' being fired by some artillery was simply more concoctions of chemical agents and high explosives. The 'guiders' on the other hand were radio guided artillery shells, extremely accurate, they detected the radio beams being bounced off the target point by the recon teams and then were guided (by the recon teams via a small joystick) down to the target, a huge flare in their rears helping the teams to guide them down.

A few minutes after loading, the order came down the line... "ALL SECTIONS! ON YOUR GRIDS! FIRE FOR EFFECT! FIRE FIRE FIRE!" Bellowed the artillery commander, as the last BOOOOOM! echoed through the zone the commander screamed again "ALL SECTIONS! TO STANDARD ROUNDS! REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT!" another cascade of artillery roared from the position. Off in the distance from the left and right flanks further artillery flashes could be seen, one side even had the telltale streaks of flaring rockets blazing out of launch tubes.

...

Above it all flew a lone reconnaissance plane, recording the battle for later analysis. Apart from the occaisional keen enemy aviator trying to reach their height (and failing dismally due to lack of oxygen for their engines) the high flying aircraft had a god's eye view of everything. The city itself was mostly untouched in the southern section (where Vikingland forces had yet to reach) though the east and north were burning wildly. Already they could see the thick clouds of gasses below, the occasional large explosion from the some particularly explode-able source, and the converging forces of the three main elements, armour, APC's and even infantry (if they used the high power telescope) with more waves of Reichan and Vikelander aircraft moving in to support their respective sides.

"Quite a game of chess eh?" said one observer to the other, "yeah" the man replied, "real friendly and all..."

SOME THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY KILOMETRES AWAY, NEAR THE JUNGLE COASTS OF THE BLACK REICH - THE SAME TIME

The recon patrol slowly moved into the clearing, in plain sight of the unknown adversary. They held the white flag above their heads - the flag of truce and not the flag of surrender which many believed it to be, and slung their weapons to slowly move forward "PARLEY!" they shouted, "WE MEAN NO HARM! WE SIMPLY WISH TO TALK"

"This is insane sir!" hissed the warrant officer to his Lieutenant, "we were told to attack them by high command, why the hell are we doing this!?"

"Because, Warrant Officer" the lieutennant said, "I think there is more to this force, they had the option to engage our forward base, which is very lightly guarded, and yet they didn't. They've been searching every body they come across, like they're looking for someone. And most importantly they have not been openly hostile."

The Warrant Officer fumed, "It is your first year out of the academy, and yet you think you can disregard command from a higher authority! High command will hear of your insolence" he hissed. The lieutenant stopped and stared into the Warrant Officer's eyes "This is initative warrant officer... and if you ever show that again I will have you charged for insubordination, do I make myself clear?"

Knowing he was beaten on technical grounds, the Warrant Officer nodded curtly and forced a flat line in his mouth. As they walked in he slowly moved his hand back and thumbed off the safety from his autorifle...

"The High General does not tolerate any deviance" the warrant officer said to himself...

...

ELSEWHERE IN THE REGION

Around numerous bases of the small islands that dotted the Palorsis Sea telephones and vid-links were ringing. As each commander opened his links he found himself face-to-face with a man in an all black uniform none had ever seen before. This was Johannes Chan, the second in command of the High Generals own special force - The Black Death...

"Gentlemen, welcome to this meeting" Johannes said.

"Who the hell are you?", "what the heck is this?", "Who the f***?"... all these questions were bombarded at him, Johannes raised a hand and said for those who had no vid-link "Gentlemen gentlemen... I am Death Commander Johannes Chan, leader of the High generals personal military arm, and I am giving you a warning order."

A hushed silence filled the air, although they knew not of this man, or this personal military arm, his I.D configuration worked, and his voice was recently added to the security servers. The commanders listened, and by the end of the meeting, many calls were being made...

A new front was being prepared... it was time to begin to train for the final retaliate to the aggressiveness of Vikingland. As Johannes Chan had put it as he signed off the vid and telephone links, "Gentlemen... REMEMBER CAMP MARKSON!"

In the city of Dasvaris, over 20,000 survivors had been taken back behind the United Vikingland lines to receive medical attention and to have them housed safely back in United Vikingland. However several hundred civilians had been found dead and in several incidents several dozen civilians were killed by United Vikingland as they looked for Black Reich soldiers.

Artillery shells were fired at United Vikingland positions, with several landing in United Vikingland command center. These explosions rocked a supply depot killing 5 United Vikingland soldiers and 3 Black Reich civilians. United Vikingland forces spilt off into groups and headed deeper into the captured city of Dasvaris.

Over 400 United Vikingland soldiers clashed with a scout force of Black Reich forces and they exchanged gunfire with the Black Reich forces as artillery shells fell into the city.

With the caapture of the city of Dasvaris by United Vikingland forces the President Ivan Ridggiro and his General cabinet were happy with the territory taken so far. However with their forces stretched thin, the army agreed to call up 15,000 soldiers of three infantry divisions and one mechanized and one artillery division. With the 15,000 soldiers that were preparing to march onto the city of Dasvaris to relieve the 7,500 soldiers that were about to be cut off by 10,000 Black Reich forces.

Also it was ordered that three infantry divisions or 8,000 soldiers that were holding there position at Camp Markson to head forward and cross into Black Reich so that they would relieve pressure of the forces that were being attacked in Dasvaris.

------------

EX Camp Markson:

The three infantry divisions prepared themselves and marched forward across the scrubland, they were moving 50 miles south of the battle of Dasvaris deeper into Black Reich territory and they would engage any forces that they found. The howitzers opened fire with artillery shells landing 500 yards ahead of the United Vikingland forces and explosions blew up clumps of dirt and trees. Crossing into Black Reich territory the 8,000 United Vikingland forces prepared to engage any Black Reich forces.

--------------

The 15,000 soldiers were preparing their forces in the town of Olga about 50 miles from the Black Reich border and probably 115 miles away from the forces at Disvaris. That would be about 2 days march to get their and maybe even 3 or four days and the officers hoped that the Disvaris forces could hold on.

Troops were lined up and loaded onto transport trucks and the mechanized vehicles lead the way.

Having not faced any enemy forces so far, the 8,000 soldiers had advanced about 20 to 25 miles deep into Black Reich from the Camp Markson entrance. And 50 miles north the Diviris city had taken territory of 10 to 15 miles in that area.

The three infantry divisions began to create a forward camp called Fort Beowolf, building several tents and wood fences as well as trip wire flares and other defences as the tents were put around a main tent.

From: Prime Minister Joer Gaffig
To: The Nation of United Vikingland

We of the highest order in Grenspoke would of liked to seen this conflict be resolved by peaceful measures but seeing as that will not be of any chance, we shall be sending several Infantry and Armored Divisions to help out your cause. Although we are a small nation, we would rather help to see a faster end to this war.

At Burgen Army and Airbase.

General Horst had been sitting back enjoying his time off about to retire when soon one of his messengers had ran in bringing an urgent message. " Sir, we just have got a report.. I don't think you are going to like it," said the messenger. General Horst snatched the report and read it with a grim outlook on his face and then he muttered ", War again?" He stood up with his cane and lumbered out telling his messenger to gather all his staff into the Briefing room.

Moments later at the Briefing Room.

General Horst had just sat down and looked around the dim light room at his staff. He soon asked one of the secretaries to pass copies of the report around to the other commanders. General Rankin soon spoke up ", war?! Is Prime Minister Gaffig mad?!" "I believe he is right with his decision, if no one else is to involve themselves in this war then I am afraid it may become a bloody stalemate and that is something we do not stand for." Soon after a long conference, the generals made the decision of sending the Gren Royal Armored Brigade, the 8th Infantry Division, and the 1st Infantry Division by means of Glider and a naval escort.

At numerous Grenspoke Army Bases, Naval Bases, and Airfields

The message was soon sent out to all other army bases, naval bases, and airfields to soon prepare for the movement of troops to United Vikingland.
Men were being all around Grenspoke were being prepared. The Gren Royal Armored Brigade consisting of 40,000 troops, 15,000 Armored Fighting Vehicles, 10,000 transport vehicles, and Several Engineering Companies. The 8th and 1st Infantry Divisions combined make up a total of 75,000 troops, 10,000 AFVs, and 25,000 transport vehicles. The 1st Infantry Division are being loaded up onto a massive transport of P-446 Transport Planes

The President of the United Vikingland country almost had his mouth drop when he heard that the nation of Grenspoke would support them to end this bloody conflict that had cost over 500+ United Vikingland lives and hundreds of Black Reich lives. With 115,000 soldiers in support of 35,000 attacking United Vikingland forces they would be able to take the whole country of Black Reich easily, but that is not what they wanted to do.

----------

United Vikingland response:

Thank you for your offer of troops and aid. With this additional support we will be able to push on and reach our objectives without that much of lose of life. With you by our side, victory will be asured.

With a desire to demonstrate solidarity with the Black Reich, the Imperial Forces of Emperor Nicholas I mobilised, ready for deployment to the front to fight the evil socialist forces of United Vikingland. Some 65,000 troops and a grand naval armada and air forces were awaiting a reply from The Black Reich as to where they should rendezvous with their likely allies.

With the forward base created of Fort Beowolf the United Vikingland forces of three infantry divisions advanced further into Black Reich leaving a garrison of 500 soldiers. The 7,500 soldiers were headed deeper and hopefully they would take the capital of Black Reich.

Also, the 15,000 soldiers were heading towards Divaris to save the 7,500 soldiers.

In Divaris fighting was intense as soldiers took up positions around the city to engage the enemy. Bullets whizzed by Cpl Anderson as he ducked behind a burned out buidling. He then opened fire with his weapon firing seven bullets at the advancing enemy before ducking behind the building again. Several soldiers to his left opened up on the advancing troops with a machine gun with bullets bouncing off the ground and striking the Black Reich forces.

At that point a United Vikingland tank moved down the street however being hit by a artillery shell and exploding in flames. Smoke rose up from the tank as several soldiers used it as a shield as they pushed deeper into the city.

Also, at another area ten United Vikingland soldiers opened fire on a advancing Black Reich coloum. They continued to fire as the Black Reich forces returned fire, dropping several of the soldiers. They continued to fire at the Black Reich soldiers dropping several more before more bullets came dropping all except for two.

The two soldiers then decided to retreat and covered each other until they were able to get back to the command camp badly wounded.

Fighting so far in Divaris had left

Dead: 274 United Vikingland
Injured: 365
Injured and missing: 59

Fighting continued in the city of Disvaris as the 15,000 soldiers marched onto Black Reich positions. Opening up with artillery and tank shells the mechanized division and the artillery division continued to open up on Black Reich artillery and mechanized units with artillery shells flying over the city and landed on Black Reich positions with explosions rocking the city.

United Vikingland infantry forces charged into the city to help assist their belligered comrades who were fighting for this city. Machine gun fire and other weapon fire as they took up positions around the city to engage all Black Reich positions. With this troop level up to 23,000 the city of Daviris would be taken from the Black Reich forces that were engaging the United Vikingland forces.

Machine gun fire lit up the city streets as civilians still continued to try to escape the city. Accidently a group of 15 were opened up apon by United Vikingland soldiers and they were all gunned down by the United Vikingland soldiers, only two of them surviving.

-----------

The 7,500 soldiers that had advanced from EX Camp Markson had made distance afterr leaving behind Fort Beowolf some 30 miles inside Black Reich territory. Setting up a second military base around about 60 to 70 miles deep within Black Reich territory they hadn't been engaged by any Black Reich forces and they named this territory Fort Akulsonwa.

OOC: Take the next number of posts Black Reich to catch up with the fighting that is going on. Now in Diviris there is 23,000 United Vikingland soldiers, and there are a total of 8,000 United Vikingland soldiers 70 miles deep within Black Reich and we both have an ally.

IC:

United Vikingland Foreign Ministry:

To: San Haven

We would like to house your peacekeeping forces at our capital until a cease-fire can be reached with the Black Reich forces. And once a cease-fire has occured your forces can than go to the battle areas.

----------

To Black Reich:

Enough people have died, and we believe a cease-fire is in order. However in any peace deal, we believe the city of Daviris and the 115 miles that have been captured by United Vikingland and its population should be handed over to United Vikingland authority but we will pay Black Reich hansomely for the loss of the territory and population.

Ok. Once we have moved between you both, we will. Hang on!
Once this cease-fire takes place we shall go between you both and prevent attacks by either side against the other! We are currently not siding, but we are acting as peace-keepers on behalf of United Vikingland!

I have just read a few posts! Black Reich said that your men butchered men, women & children! You can be brought to Justice by Nations! That means you have committed war crimes! We are removing all peace-keeping units from the region!

If this continues, we will support Black Reich!
Please note we the following:
Army: 3,450,000
Navy: 1,986,000
Air: 2,620,600

We have more allies and more forces than you both! But i am not involved! But can be!

That is Black Reich propoganda that is trying to get their people to fight for them. It appears there seems to be a power struggle in Black Reich right now and the powerful ones want war with United Vikingland. There were porbably civilians killed in the bombing and attack but United Vikingland forces have not intentionally killed civilians.

3 Miles from Camp Mason

Early than usual, the first P-446 Transport Planes started landing with only 50landing at first but over the hours waves and waves of P-446 Transport Planes start landing in an open field where the soldiers amass outside of the gliders. Col. Geordi Frost, the XO of the 1st Division and CO of Company A, walked through the field with his AG-28 Flokker SMG slinged at his side and he met up with Lt. Col. Ganes Hante of Company H. "Lt. Col. Hante, where is the nearest town or army base around here," Frost grunted. "The Camp Mason Armybase is about 3 or 4 miles from the location due east" Hante replied. "Alright men, the rest haven't arrived yet but we should move to the nearest friendly base. So men, get your weapons and transport vehicles ready because we are moving out," yelled Frost. About 12,000 troops had landed, the other 18,000 were still about a day out. An estimated 3,500 AFVs had landed along with the troops and aswell as 2,500 Transport vehicles had landed. Col. Frost hitched a ride on the nearest jeep and headed for Camp Mason.

A hour or 2 later at Camp Mason.

Col. Frost's jeep had just been stopped and he hopped out and walked over to the gate. "I am Col. Geordi Frost of Grenspoke's 1st Infantry Division and we are here to help out with the United Vikingland cause," said Frost. After a while of talking, he managed to get access into Camp Mason where he would wait for a briefing or hopefully get some information over the region that they would be fighting in.

OOC: The reason why I did this is because I have no clue about any city, fort, base, and etc. in these two nations. Hopefully if you could fill me in on some of the details.

General Oldoson walked towards the Colonel and stood in front of him. Smiling softly he indicated for him to follow him and went into a command tent.

A map was in front of him and he stated that;

"50 miles to the north and 15 miles within Black Reich territory, 23,000 United Vikingland forces are fighting at best estimate 10,000 to 15,000 Black Reich soldiers. We believe with our mechanized and artillery division we can retake the city. Now to the west deep within Black Reich around about 70 miles, we have two forts called Fort Beowolf and Fort Akulsonwa. If you can advance around about 20,000 soldiers with two United Vikingland divisions of 5,000 we will be able to set up an excellent defence against a Black Reich counter attack.

High General Trilkin stormed out of his office... in his hand he held a small video player. I the video player stood a bruised and battered Premier Hemmerstein...

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen of the free world" Hemmerstein said, "For those of you who do not know me, my name is Premier Karl Hemmerstein. As you may know however, over the last few months, a serious border engagement has begun to turn into full scale war in our region between ourselves and United Vikingland. Although it has been my signature on the declarations of war and the like, I can safely say that it is not my doing."

The premir pointed to his face, "as you can see, I have not been given the best of treatment in recent times, and it was only through the help of these people behind me that I escaped" he swung his hand over a group of soldiers, all wearing ski masks and nameless uniforms "these brave men have defied the traitorous High General Trilkin and have saved me from watching my nation die."

He picked up a briefcase, it had blood stains on it, "This briefcase contains a large amount of information that will show the true perpetrators of this war." The premier struggled to hold back tears, "this bag has already cost so much... including the life of my only daughter", his face turned red and tears blurred his vision as he finished reading the materials within the briefcase. The evidence was well beyond damming...

"Fellow Reichans, all those who are true to their country, hear me, rise up against this false government, and bring it to its knees."

"HOW THE HELL DID HE ESCAPE! WHO HELPED HIM! I WANT THEM SHOT! I WANT THEIR FAMILIES MURDERED! EVERYTHING!"

High General Trilkin was to continue on like this for the next two hours... but no matter what the premier said, he couldn't stop the next two actions before it was too late...

The great Reichan offensive was about to be given a booster in the arm...

MEANWHILE, ON THE FRONT LINE

"Reinforcements" said one trooper to no one in particular.

The battle for Dasvaris was turning into quite a quagmire, with almost thirty thousand enemy troops and there supporting elements now attacking Dasvaris and the surrounding forces it was only a matter of time until they smashed through the 10,000 strong defences.

That was however, not part of the Reichan battle plan...

As such, when word of alliances being forged had reached the ears of the area general, he had requested a significant amount of assistance. In fact, with the exception of the further ocean bound edge of the nation, almost a full half of the Reichan armed services was about to be thrown into the fray against the oncoming enemy horde.

In a nation of 26 million people, under wartime conditions of service and open conscription - that amounted to roughly a million soldiers, of which almost two hundred thousand were about to be deployed in OPERATION FINAL STRIKE 1

It would take a week (game terms) for the final preparations to begin, all the Reichan forces had to do in the meantime was survive long enough for the main thrust to sweep into the enemy like a scythe through wheat...

Meanwhile, on the other side of the Reichan territories, the first naval armada, loaded with men and materials, began to steam from its ports. Above them flew the huge transport aircraft loaded with men and material of the airborne sections... the new front would be opened very soon... another three hundred thousand combat capable servicemen strong...

The new Reichan 1st Army begins to take shape...

With the mobilization of the Black Reich army of 1 million soldiers, the United Vikingland army and its allies that totalled around about 250,000 soldiers in total did not stand a chance. However, with the mobilization of Black Reich to total war, the 18 million people nation of United Vikingland also mobilized for total war, and with this their army rose from 250,000 people up to 1.3 million people mostly conscripts that needed to take crash courses in fighting.

However Ivan Riddigo was prepared to damage as many Black Reich military installations and bases with an airforce that was strong to give this newly growing army a time to drill.

------------

Basic Camp:

Forty large trucks brought in 20,000 newly acquired conscripts into bootcamp. They were to train for the next three weeks to prepare to become soldiers to go into combat against Black Reich which had hit about 3 months of steady fighting. There were seven other bases in United Vikingland training another 250,000 soldiers to prepare to be soldiers. Already 100,000 extra soldiers had passed and were to head to the front lines.

50,000 United Vikingland soldiers were headed to back up the Forts of Beowolf and the other one a total of 70 miles within Black Reich, and with their allies they would be nearly 80,000 soldiers.

-----------

Bombing raids:

Over 600 Bombers escorted by 400 fighter planes targetted eight military instalations in Black Reich controlled territory. Over 200 tonnes of bombs dropped on these installations with bombs exploding as they hit the ground. However, 7 bombers and 12 fighter planes were shot down or crippled in this action against the military instalations.

Dead: 50
Missing: 25 presumed captured

--------------

Black Reich Capital City:

Over 70 United Vikingland bombers flew into the capital city airspace. Heading over the industrial section of the Black Reich capital bombs were dropped as well on the Parliment building and in several residential areas. Bombs exploded all around the capital and it appeared that a fire was started in the industrial section of Black Reich.

-----------

Daviris:

Fighting continued in the city as machine gun fire and artillery shells were reportedly heard. However, United Vikingland forces continued to push against the Black Reich forces.

A United Vikingland force of 2,000 circled behind the Black Reich forces and opened fire. Machine gun fire gunned down some Black Reich soldiers as United Vikingland forces dropped as well. But as they were circling in on the Black Reich forces, there was essentially no chance for them to retreat and the offer of surrender was offered to the surviving Black Reich soldiers.

In the area controlled by United Vikingland there were probably several villages and several towns equalling several hundred thousand people as well as the city that fighting was going on.

However, a United Vikingland patrol of 50 soldiers came upon a fallen down tree. Unknown what this was about they were surprised when about two dozen armed men and women opened fire on them with weapons. They responded with machine gun fire and tossed three grenades at the drection of the rebels. One grenade was kicked back at them and exploded resulting in three soldiers collapsing to the ground, one of them stilling.

Gunfire continued for five minutes before the rebels surrendered to the United Vikingland soldiers.

In the fighting: 9 rebel bodies were collected and confirmed dead and the rest were captured. 3 United Vikingland soldiers were also killed and 11 were wounded.

Heading in the direction that the rebels had come from a village of about 100 to 200 people was found. The commander of the patrol along with his soldiers went into the village and talked with the mayor of the village saying that this area was under United Vikingland control and that they would treat the civilians of this land fairly.

Other partisan violence in the three month border war had left 4 United Vikingland soldiers dead as well as about 20+ Black Reich civilians and rebels. This totalled it to 30 Black Reich civilians and rebels dead along with 7 United Vikingland soldiers.

United Vikingland forces marched deeper into Black Reich territory. In total, 300,000 United Vikingland soldiers were marching across the border. With the capture of over 100 miles of Black Reich territory the United Vikingland forces were excited for victory.

In the invasion of 300,000 United Vikingland soldiers, 500 United Vikingland bombers launched a second bombing raid on the capital of Black Reich and several Black Reich military bases.

With no resistance from Black Reich soldiers, United Vikingland soldiers marched onto the capital and took the President and others as POWs. The war was now over and Black Reich was under United Vikingland control with 2,000+ soldiers dead with thousands of Black Reich people dead.
