Reporting to Chaos [closed, secret]

Jove stared at the report he had been typing out. Perfect. The report that could change the fate of many millions, and affect the course of history for millenia.

He tapped in the intended recipient of the message, and sent it, heavily encrypted.

Alteran Dominion Foreign Office Report

To His Chaotic Lordship, Lord Remiel de Drakan, from Bureaucrat First Degree Jove, Alteran Foreign Office.

Enclosed is a report detailing the findings of an investigation into the hostile nature of the upstart state 'SeaQuest', and the possible threat that state may pose in the far future. We hope that this report will show you that state is agressive, irrational and backwards, and that action must be taken to prevent the threat from growing.

History of Agressive Actions

The state known as SeaQuest has a history of agression towards any people who may be able to break their charade of Alteran ancestry. When the people of the Alteran Dominion returned from ascension, the SeaQuestian response was to despatch a capital ship to put into effect the cleansing of the Lantean system. Ever since this event, the SeaQuestians have obviously recognised the threat posed by true Alterans, and have done their best to try and sour any attempt at diplomacy between the Dominion and third party states.

Most recently, a SeaQuestian delegate (successfully) attempted to goad a Foreign Office delegate into hand to hand combat. The SeaQuestian then attempted to use some kind of lizard-like primitive beings to intimidate the Alteran representative (this event being the catalyst for the compilation of this report).

We realise that these events do not involve you, or directly threaten you and your empire in any way. This will not always be the case.

Efforts to Harm the Powers of Chaos

It has come to the attention of the Alteran military Intelligence Bureau that SeaQuest has established a lab on their false Altera. This was originally no concern, but our latest intelligence shows that there is in fact cause for concern.

We have acquired documents from the SeaQuestian labs revealing that this lab is in place for the purpose of Ascension research. This research is not being done for the good of anyone, and especially not an Imperium such as yours.

The SeaQuestian labs are attempting to create 'ascended soldiers' to directly battle the Gods of Chaos wit the aim of subduing them, and usurping their positions as all-powerful Gods.

Conclusion

It is obvious that the efforts of the SeaQuestians must be stopped, for the benefit of both our races. I have been authorised to propose joint aggressive actions against SeaQuest, with the aim of total cleansing of SeaQuestian false Alterans and their allies.

Attatched to the message was a hidden file, hidden so that not even the Alteran Security forces would discover it. A message hidden with sorcerous incantations and dark powers...

Blessed Lord de drakan,

The Dominion is blessed with the glorious taint, we a re few in number and weak in influence but we exist. We exist to spread the word of the Dark Gods.

Lord of Change Bless you,
Patriarch Jove

From the august house De Drakan, from the mouth of the God-Emperor, Lord Remiel; He Who Unites the Stars; Scion and Master of Chaos.

My dear friends, your troubles sound many, and seem to include me quite entirely. Such research cannot be allowed; perhaps an imperial presence would educate these upstarts in manners? You say they openly threaten you; and openly pose a threat to Chaos? If this is so, must not all threats be met and evaluated. You have much to offer the Imperium; so too does the Imperium have much to offer you. Kinship, brotherhood; power; such things are commonly bartered currency amongst the sons of Chronosia.

Such things we could offer you; should you be willing to accept. I sense we must have words of this; perhaps we should come to you; come to the table to debate and discuss and deliberate?

Yours in Chaos, by the will of Change;

Remiel De Drakan

Alteran foreign Office Response

To His Chaotic Lordship, Lord Remiel de Drakan, from Bureaucrat First Degree Jove, Alteran Foreign Office.

It is true that discussing the situation in person would be most desirable. A situation of such elicacy, in a galaxy so filled with spies and traitors cannot be discussed over long-range communications. We shall prepare a chamber for discussion. The Acting Dictator of the Dominion shall be present.

Note: in light of the events of your visit to Atlantis, wipe-clean furnishings are provided.

Remiel De Drakan; known and famed in portions of Atlantis as 'steel stomach' De Drakan, strode through the active wormhole and rematerialised at the otherside. He was adorned in his finest armors, his black runeblades hanging from his sides, as always; his gauntlet crackling with a power both arcane and archaic; an ancient technological masterpiece; a working of the finest of Tech-Priests.

"Once again I step into your presence, sons of Altera; once again I come face to face with those who seeded countless worlds. Just as you are the perfection of your form; so are Chronosians the grandest achievement of humanity; never before has a species been so technologically, genetically and spiritually perfect..."

Janus stepped forward to greet Remiel.

"You have achieved many great things. It is clear that your Imperium is of the finest genetic stock of humanity, magnified many times. We are honoured to welcome you to our greatest city, Vis Uban, our highest technological achievement."

He stepped forward again. A second later, a set of ring transports flew up from the ground where he had been standing, and transported the two leaders to a hall, dominated by a holographic representation of the Alteran dominion at it's height.

"Please, Lord de Drakan, sit. Drink?"

That mighty stomach of steel growled, somewhere a liver despaired; yet Remiel had spares, at least two of each, and the ability to digest poisons that would have killed a normal man. He grinned, and sat. "I think I shall" He gazed up at the holograph "An impresive domain; tell me, what was it that drove you from the galaxy you fled to after the Plague? Why did you choose to ascend; why all the hopping around territory? It baffles me as to why you couldn't hold and secure all your territory; you could have ruled as Gods; mighty overlords..."

"We were too few. All we could do was remake life in this galaxy, and leave it. In the Pegasus galaxy we were the only major spacefarers, unstoppable. For a long time, anyway. We just didn't have the option of staying in the milky Way, too much could have gone wrong."

Janus filled two glasses with a black fluid that seemed to move of it's own accord, and handed one to Remiel.

"For a time? What changed?" He lifts the glass, knocking the fluid back with barely a second thought; slamming the glass down before continuing on his train of though "Things can go wrong all to well; Chaos touches all things, no system is safe from it; no force on this world can hope to stop the unpredictable wiles of probability and Chaos."

"The Wraith. A perfect organic engine of destruction, a hive mind, countless millions of warriors and many, many ships. They were so numerous that our fleets couldn't keep on fighting."

When he saw remiel knock back the drink Janus winced, knowing that if he tried anything like that he'd be on the floor in two seconds flat.

Remiel smirked "They sound marvellous; of course any truely ordered system is entirely vulnerable. A vast war across galaxies, or even worlds can collapse upon itself at the slightest permutation. Such is the glory of Chaos; the ability to lay low entire bastions of order with a single blow...Now; tell us more of these Seaquestrians and their despicable plots. They sound quite the thorn in your side."

"They are. Jealousy, of course. They envy the fact that we could avoid the agonies that their weaknesses have forced them to go through. We also suspect they have some jealousy regarding the ascended knowledge that we kept. It has allowed us to create things that their mongrel empire couldn't dream of."

Janus gave up on the drink, and threw the glass at the wall behind him.

"Since we true Alterans first returned from our Ascended state they have envied us. They live in their mongrel cities, with their stolen ships and technology. They saw that we create, and they couldn't. So they sent one of my people's larger ships... If they tried that today, they wouldn't last ten seconds."
Chronosia

"Of course; upstart empires who prostitute technology are nothing new to us. A fledgling Imperium of Man sought to crown itself as Lords in the abscence of the Emperor; but they found soon enough that the might of an Imperium loyal to the ruinous powers is not to be trifled with. Now they scrape and mewl in the dust, degenerate shadows...Children, envying eternally their siblings..."

"There's always one little group out to try and destabilise the status quo. What is so incredibly enraging about the situation is that all the time they have been selling the technologies they have stolen or bastardised. New gates are being detected on an almost daily basis!"
Chronosia
06-03-2006, 14:43
"We used one in a rather amusing experiment the other day; seems overloading a gate, sealed by shield and iris, creates a sort of warpstorm...The possibilities of using entirely open gates as offensive Warp weapons seems almost limitless in its possibilities for change and destruction...."

"My people have long known the explosive potential of Astria Porta, in fact we have created weapons designed to exploit that, but we had no idea of the potential for crossovers between seperate dimensions... A terrifying weapon..."
