Constitution: Arborius has always been an autocracy, but the office of Emperor has just been revived. It hasn't been used for 1000 years and until recently power was held by a Lord Chancellor. Reein has broken with this by naming himself Emperor.

The Arborians record their history in the chronology of their five (so far) ages. Nomally, these ages last about 1000-2000 years and each age ends due to an event of great upheaval or change. The ages are listed below.

The First Age or the 'Dark Age': This is by far the longest age of the Arborian history lasting 5.10 billion years. It is also the only age to count backwards, from 5.10 billion DA-1DA. This period included the growth of life on the planet and the evolution of the Arborians. During the years of 3000-2000DA they Arborians formed into societies and in 2000-5000DA they began to advance rapidly. They had developed gunpowder by 800DA and formed systems of Government within their City States. They built great structures and began mass industrialisation in 500DA. In 342DA Paulo Von Savos was born and in 289DA at the young age of 53 he ascended to the throne of the City State of Vespeterium Minor. He made this state into the military power of the world and began to conquer his neighbours in order to unite the 20 City States into a Grand Empire. This age ended with his victory at the Crocian Gate and the surrender of his last enemy.

The Second Age or the 'First Empire': This age lasted for 1646 years and oversaw the expansion of the empire into a great soceity. Paul Von Savos ruled for the first 300 years of this age far outliving his life expectancy. The Arborians made massive scientific leaps during this age with the invention of drone technology in 873FE and the ventures into space from 1033FE. The age ended with the death of last emperor of the Vespeterium line and the establisment of Reein III or 'the Great' as emperor, the first warrior Arborian to rule.

The Third Age or the 'Golden Age': This is also sometimes called the 'Second Empire'. It was a time when the Arborians established themselves as the dominant power in the Cravian system and a force to be reckoned with throughout the Galaxy. The line of warrior emperors benefited the military expansion of the state and species as they conquered many planets. However, critical defeats in wars with coalitions and an invasion of Arborius itself put paid to this age. It ended after 923 years with the establishment of the Chancellors.

The Fourth Age or the 'Age of the Lord Chancellors': With the increasingly corrupt imperial rule making too many enemies, the emperor was overthrown and a 'Chancellor' selected from one of the 20 City States was chosen to rule the empire. This wasn't democratic, only a select few had the choice and once a Chancellor had been appointed he could not be replaced but by force. In 963ALC Paulo Von Gerrit Vespeterium was appointed Lord Chancellor, he was a descendent from the Vespeterium line that had been broken at the end of the First Empire, and was chosen because of this. While a strong ruler, he became increasingly deluded and insisted that his subjects treat him as a God. A seven year civil war between Paulo and his brother Reein ended in the death of Paulo and the Chancellorship. This age lasted 1007 years.

The Fifth Age of the 'Third Empire': This has run for half of one year so far. Reein Sovo Axes Vespeterium has restablished the imperial title and now rules of emperor of Vespeterium Minor and its colonies.
