Palixia
04-03-2006, 20:49
Robert Plant was tired, he had been facing too much war. He decided to make an announcment
On nearly every station that night...
We interupt your current program for this broadcast of Prime Minister Robert Plant
"Good Evening people of Palixia:
As you know, I have been very unwell for some time now and as a consequence, feel that I am unable to work for Palixia any longer.
This was not an easy decision and took a lot of consideration. However, please be assured that I will do all I can to assist in the smooth transfer of my responsibilities before leaving.
I wish both you and Palixia every good fortune and I would like to thank you for having me as your Prime Minister for these 5 years, I would like to call, as my final act, a presidential election.
Thank you and Good Night"
The people of Palixia were in shock. Though almost as soon as the broadcast ended, canidates were lining up for the next Prime Minister, the canidates and their parties are as followed.
Leon Mikhail - Socialist Party of Palixia
Ben Cutler - Floydian Theocratic Party
Rich Boynton - Republican Party
Steve Slusher - Democratic Party
Charles Rock - Liberal Conservative Party
Cindy Malek - Centrists' Party
-----------
The Results are in, the next Prime Minister of Palixia will be Leon Mikhail of the Socialist Party, making him the first Socilaist Prime Minister of Palixia ever.
----------
His first act was to create a more Socialistic National Anthem and a new flag
Hail Palixia!
The people's flag is deepest red,
It shrouded oft our martyr'd dead
And ere their limbs grew stiff and cold,
Their hearts' blood dyed its ev'ry fold.
Then raise the scarlet standard high,
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
Look round, the Palixian loves its blaze,
The sturdy Palixian chants its praise,
In Moscow's vaults its hymns are sung,
the West swells the surging throng.
It waved above our infant might
When all ahead seemed dark as night;
It witnessed many a deed and vow,
We must not change its colour now.
It well recalls the triumphs past;
It gives the hope of peace at last:
The banner bright, the symbol plain,
Of human right and human gain.
It suits today the meek and base,
Whose minds are fixed on pelf and place,
To cringe before the rich man's frown
And haul the sacred emblem down.
With heads uncovered swear we all
To bear it onward till we fall.
Come dungeon dark or gallows grim,
This song shall be our parting hymn.
