The mighty Virulent pulled up to the starting line, cannons charged, missiles loaded in banks to ready for the upcoming fight. The enemy looked ferocious, but the huge 21km Virulent was ready to stand against it.

The formidable Sword of Arioch slid forth, an immense juggernaut of Chronosian might. It's cannons thrummed and hissed, dancing with baleful energies; fighters and missles were prepped and readied; tech-priests moved hither and thither, making sure all was readied, all was perfect, so far as it could be upon a vessel so magnificently gifted by Chaos.

Remiel himself was upon the bridge, seated upon his throne, watching through the myriad sensor arrays, regarding the enemy with cold cunning of a shark. Already holographics flickered into being, and he gestured with intricately gauntleted hands at specific portions of the opposing vessel; examining; deliberating.

We have come, now; let us begin

The weapons systems of the Sword whirled and fire; a wave of missles to pepper the area about the enemy with fire; some revealed truer colors, detonating prematurely, breaking apart like cracked eggshells; mines tumbling forth into the void, magnetic monstrosities (Simulated explosions, of course).

The Sword moved ponderously, its lance batteries opening fire in waves of focussed energy; minor warp cannons hurling forth waves of coruscating, deadly emanations; fighters poured from their bays, Swiftdeath and Hellfire fighters, Dreadfire bombers, whirling and dancing in fetid joy amidst the depths of the howling abyss; the audient void; the canvas upon which the blood rite was to take place.

The Virulent was quick to respond to the threat of the incoming weapons fire, charged particle clouds dispersed in front of the shields as basic dampeners to the energy waves, and small rocket projectiles fired to take down the missiles. Nevertheless, some of the fire hit the shield banks, sparks emitting from the heavy bands of energy surrounding the ship in yellow and red gleams.
The Virulent was on the offensive now, Zephyr gunships and Retribution interceptors diving out from the main hanger bays, followed up by a wing of Judgement bombers. The main cannons of the Virulent, ready for combat, spat out a torrent of energy bolts at the enemy craft. The first 12 frontal turbolaser-combine cannons merged seven turbolaser beams together, then projected out the enhanced beam with much more powerful force at the Sword. Missile banks locked in the enemy signature, quick Ion rockets pouring forth at the enemy fighter waves as Positron torpedo launchers spewed blue positron torpedoes forward, some of the launchers dumb-firing to prevent jamming. Point-defense lasers activated, targeting the fighter screen now, waiting to close in range to fire.
The Dominion fighter waves broke into three formations, combinations of bombers, interceptors, and gunships.

The mighty shields of the immense vessel crackled and hissed, dancing in a myriad of colors as the enemy attacks slammed against it; some penetrating, pinging against the hull, cause minor hits. Fighters spun off into the void, displays flashing 'Immobilised'; yet many more surged and danced, engaging the enemy with their dazzling speed and seething mock-weapons. The Sword retaliated with brutal efficiency, a blast of lance fire hurtling towards them; another barrage of missles aiming for key and essential systems; while masses of point-defence cannons and long range weaponry sought to pepper and thin out the Enemy fighters, while their own met them in twisted dog-fights amongst the stars.

"My Lord, we are readying all primary systems, we but await your order."

"Excellent; continue the main attack protocals; initiate multiple Dreadfire bombing run fronts; keep our fighters keeping them occupied; maintain strategic fire; they cannot face the full might of the Imperium and maintain such dogged fire." The ship rumbled slightly. "Intensify our assault."

The Virulent kept up the fire as the interceptors kept on the enemy fighter screens. The massive dreadnought moved off to the left, as the giant fore-mounted hyperlaser cannon charged for a massive blast...but the command crew did not fire. Waiting, the fighters provided enough of a screen should the Chronosian ship decide to fire a superweapon back. The Virulent squared off, missiles and torpedoes still pouring out of launchers as turbolasers and combine cannons continued to fire at maximum speed.

Torpedoes and missles stained the void with the hissing fire of their propulsion; slamming towards the enemy; lance fire kept up a steady stream, blast after blast tapering against the enemy ship. The shields crackled and hissed and danced with every impact; the hull marred by the assaults of the Virulent; but the Imperium would not surrender so easily; would not surrender themselves to their fate.

"My lord; we are detecting an energy build up from the enemy vessel; your orders?"

"Target anything that resembles power generators and propulsion; as well as the source of the energy; we shall sunder them before them have a chance to do likewise."

And so the baleful rain of weapons fire continues. The weapons systems kick fully into high gear; pounding against their hated foe; as even now, the primary weapon of the Sword is redied and attended to.

OOC: The hyperlaser is similar to the combined energy beam used by Species 8472 from Star Trek Voyager, not quite as powerful though (Ie, it can't destroy planets, merely crack the crust, causing seismic upheaval, or annihilate space stations). The combine cannons that are used are simply considerably weaker versions of this, but stronger than the turbolasers which dot my ship.

IC: The gunship waves came streaking in harder, faster, a swarm of the smaller vessels bracketing in on any emissions-pulsing structure planting the hull of the Chronosian vessel, rockets and laser pulses firing away. The bomber forces struck on another pass, torpedoes volleying off into anything that shot, as the fighters continued their dogfights. Fighters were knocked out of the fray from time to time, their numbers decreasing, but they were performing their job, to delay and hold the Chronosian fighter screens and give the gunships and bombers enough leeway to continue striking in. The hanger bays of the Virulent were filled with rearming bombers and gunships, as assault fighters prepared to launch for a second wave of strikes.
Onboard the Virulent, command gave the issue to fire the main cannon, as a response from the increased weapons fire from the Sword. The massive hyperlaser cannon, mounted fore of the bridge and well-protected inner reactors that consumed a huge chunk of the interior space, glowed with bright green light, as the energy built up, streaking out from the 4 laser projectors, combining to one massive energy beam that struck out from the massive cannon, pulsing out with intense energy towards the Sword. As the mighty main cannon fired, the combine cannons and turbolasers continued the fire on the Chronosian flagship, pounding away and quickly recharging. Torpedo and rocket launchers spewed hot projectiles, containing active antimatter and unstable ionized compounds at the opposing vessel, thrown across the torrent of space.

the beam struck, mauling the side shields of the Sword a massive sunderign wave of energy; the shields crackled and hissed, dancing in a web of amazing, living color, before finally the beam scored hits upon the hull itself; the missles following suit.

"My lord; we are down to 30% integrity on our port shields; hull damage has taken place; your orders?"

"Begin..."

The ship turned, weapons firing; not at the same level, as efforts were made to return power to the primary shields. The weapons suddenly tapered off; the fighters and bombers making attack runs, often ignoring their enemy coutnerparts; simply obsessed with assaulting with ship; luring their foes back towards the virulent.

The front of the Sword seemed to unfold, a mighty crackling structure; energy whirling and dancing amongst it; as it readied, and fired. The wave of warp energy hurtled forth, simulated of course, a mighty cacophany of raw power that surged and danced across the tormented tapestry of reality. It slammed through the web of Chronosian and Amazonian fighhters; and hurtled onwards towards the energy ship; this was a weapon that had sundered entire worlds; that had set them burning in the namer of Chaos; and as it tapered off; it's full might forced upon their enemy; the Sword opened up with avast barrage of projectile assaults...

The fighter and gunship waves inside of the path of the cannon were immediately "vaporized" (OOC: In quotes 'cause it's simulated), as the ships marked with a destruction left the battlezone. The energy smashed the side shields of the Virulent, which, though had been designed to withstand the full power of battlefleets, still sparked and crumpled before the massive power of the main energy wave. The shield bank broke, allowing the fire to hit the interior hull of the Virulent, simulating massive hull breaches and the venting of interior atmosphere to space. The starboard side of the Virulent was suffering heavy damage, as the following projectile volley from the Sword withered more impacts against the vulnerable decks. The Virulent immediately began working on trying to restore vestiges of shield power as the shields undamaged from the assault wrapped around the exposed part, the shield frequencies now barely holding at 15% effectiveness as simulated on-board damage control attempted to get repairs done quickly. The Virulent aimed its nose forward to make the ship a smaller profile, as point-defense lasers remaining undamaged on the starboard side furiously attempted to intercept oncoming projectiles. The entire starboard hanger had been simulated as wiped out, a quarter of the fighters and support ships onboard effetively nuetralized. To make up for the casulties on the gunships and fighters, the Virulent began launching again, assault fighters and gunships leaving the still operational port hanger. The bomber flotilla, remaining close in with the Sword during the chaos, had remained fairly unscathed, as only those ships in front of the behemoth had been take out.

The waves of fighters, bombers and gunships clashed amidst the terror of the burning void; weapons fire racked the ships; point defence lasers crackled and danced as they darted to take out projectiles and enemy vessels; a frantic firefight across the tapestry of the infinite abyss. Shields flared and weapons continued their fell assault, the hull marred and marked by impacts; even as they readied for another mighty barrage.

This was total and utter simulated war; glorious combat without the pains and penalties of death and madness. This was the Imperium unleashed, in fire and pain amongst the stars.

The shield banks simulated hits and flares with bright intensity, sparks hissing and energy crackling amidst the simulated battlefield. The Virulent had made a turn on the Sword now, its good side facing, opening up with full broadsides off cannon and missile fire. Assault fighters closed to firing range upon the Chronosian flagship, volleying off missiles and rattling energy fire while using every evasive manuever known to the pilots of the Dominion to escape the flashing fire of the defensive turrets.

The shields flared and burned and all the void seemed set to burning with the furious intensities of their volleys; cannon met cannon in equal fury, missles and torpedoes were exchanged in equal bloody gouts; and all the fighters and bombers, swirling and diving amidst the cold horror of the abyss, seemed like so many ants before the mighty edifices of the vessels.

The Chronosian shields and hulls simulated damage; much was being wrougnt upon them, but also upon the enemy. "Turn all weapons towards our foes; fire every volley in our possession; every blast our reactors can muster; victory will be ours! By the black abyss, by the Gods of Chaos! We shall triumph!"

"All batteries fire, fire!"

The side cannons on the Virulent sent bolts of simulated energy flying across space, cannons spitting and reloading, plasma simulated shooting from hits on the Virulent's exterior, seeker missiles and dumb warheads sent at high velocities from mass driver launchers as fighters came, reloaded and refueled, and ran attacks on the Sword.

Fighters dodged and ducked and fired again and again; bobmers made their strafing runs of chaotic fury even as the Sword shook and shuddered under the enemy assault; the shields battered, the hulls bleeding; but they would not surrender; again and again they fired; moving closer; preparing to strike to kill against this enemy; to win, and prove their glorious worth.

Missles and torpedoes howled forth in killing volleys; streaking across the abyss in roaring gouts of seething force.

The weapons of the enemy vessel smashed into the Dominion flagship's shield bank, holding on to every part of resistance it could to continue fending off the torrents of fire that slashed in and about the ship. The Virulent swiveled its side combine turbolasers and slashed heavy threads of energy out from numeroues energy emitters, rocket banks unsheathing volley after volley of torpedoes. The shields on the left side, doing their job for so long finally began to feel the effects of the intense beating they had taken, small holes opening in the shield banks that onboard crews desperately scrambled to repair before they could be taken advantage of, now the occasional missile weapon penetrating in to impact against the hull.
Gunships and assault fighters were now ordered to intensify the attack and finish the matter quickly, now every weapon possible being utilized in an attempt to bring the opposing massive behemoth across space down, point-defense cannons whipping across the nearby space to try and intercept enemy bombing runs as fighters attempted to stave off enemy fighters.

Shields hissed and snarled in static discharge; the hull roared and bent under the pressure of the enemy onslaught. Fighters fought and 'died' amidst the terrible stars; and weapons continued to pound. Both sides seemed relentless; willing to pour every ounce of their power against the foe; to punish and to vanquish.

"Reroute all power to weapons systems; we've significantly recharged the main weapons bank; I want all fire focussed, simultaneously at their main command decks."

"Aye Lord; charging...Firing!"

The shields dropped and for one glorious moment all the void seemed to stand silent. Nothing else mattered, not the pounding of enemy weapons, nor the roar of fighter engines; the Sword opened fire; it's main weapon howling forth, orbed by ever single weapon and missle firing simultaneously; focussed directly towards one precise spot of the ship.

It was all or nothing.

The bridge didn't stand a chance against that kind of blast, certainly not being atop the bridge spire near the end of the craft, stuck out from the main superstructure. The massive weapon discharge impacted with terrifying force, simulating the crumpling and implosion of the bridge, the vacuum from the implosion spreading outward like a minature sun. The main command deck was rendered useless, utterly vanquisged. Though the Dominion operators now saw their chances nearing 0, the main command deck and the commanders of the Virulent completely out of action, the secondary command took over, though it was a dying act for a simulated dying ship. The loss of the main bridge affected every sub-system except weapons, the shield bank collapsing, engine control severly disrupted. The floundering warship, though it's cannon still online, was now quite vulnerable to assault, attempting to combat this with a massive launch of all remaining support ships and a flurry from the secondary guns, seeing how the main control for the two hyperlasers was lost. The Virulent was going down, but the remainign operators were going to ensure that, as in a real fight, it would go down hot.

Despite being smallest ship was probbably the winner with it having the most accurate cannons of the bunch and despite the other ships having intimidatingly huge cannons every single one of thier shells fired over 5 miles would veer of course by possibly miles. Making hitting this covette of Battleships impossible. Also this Battleship using modified 'Harpoon' missiles to slip past CIWS systems while they cruised 'Above the Deck'. Also with the SI 'Fatal Shots' as they were named for having fins which launched out directly after firing to help them guide to thier target similar to the Anti-Tank rounds fired by the M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank to precision guide the 120mm shell. The stunnimgly huge and vast armaments upon this ship stunned all as it had a huge displacement. Thanks to having lightweight and almost impenatrable armor.

Um, I think you are dead. Since this is a Space Battle competition, there is no atmosphere for your crew to survive. Also, your fins on the rockets would be a great idea if there were said atmosphere around to allow their usage.

Seriously, you accidently posted in the wrong thread. It's OK because we all have done it before. I hope you didn't mind my joking with you.
