Like other Alteran worlds, Vis Uban is home to a single city. Originally construction was started to make Vis Uban the jewel in the Alteran crown, superior even to the vast city-ship of the Lantean system. The plague that wiped out most of the Alteran population ensured that construction was not finished for a long time.
When the current Alterans de-ascended to reclaim their territory and technology, the great city was their first priority. Thanks to knowledge retained from their time as Ascended beings, they completed the city within a year, even more impressive than it would have originally been.
Vis Uban is the capital of the Alteran Dominion, housing the Senate, and in times of war the advisory council of the Acting Dictator. The importance of this world is emphasised by the presence of a quarter of the Alteran population living within it's safe confines.
