Government to the world:

Hello, a massive earthquake has rocked our small nation today and has flattened several dozen villages and has damaged the capital city of Toronto. We need international assistance to help deal with survivors, the homeless and the dead. A resort that maintains a lot of foreigners has also been damaged so we need help finding foreign survivors and getting them home. Thank you.

Some info on our nation of Canadstan is:
6 million people
Capital: Toronto
Earthquake hit to the north of Toronto and has effected 1/8 to 1/5 of the country. The cities of Montreal and Pickering are also reporting damage.

Earthquake Zone:

A military helicopter flew into the area with a dozen soldiers and two medics on board. They were headed towards the resort that had partially collapsed. As they were flying there was knocked down trees, houses and buildings had collapsed in the nearby town, and a fire seemed to be going strong at the local police station. Then after five minutes they landed at the resort. They got out and hurried inside as screams and calls for help could be heard.

OOC: So, if anyone wants to assist, or have foreigners trapped or injured and killed in the resort please do. Thank you.

Meanwhile..thousands of miles away in The Hague, capital of the Kingdom of the Dutch Netherlands......

-The king was reading over a report from the Royal Ministry of the Treasury when there was a knock at his chamber door.-

king "come"

-general Von Minburgin entered the room with a look of concern on his face, noticing this the king discarded his treasury report and walk toward the general.-

" General...you must have something rather important to tell me that it couldn't wait until the Petty council gathers this afternoon ?!"

"yes i believe i do your Majesty"

"well get on with it man!!"

"my lord, the Royal Ministry of the Navy has received a message from one of our exploration fleets in the East Pacific, they've been intercepting transmissions from The Federation of Canadstan.it appears they've had an environmental disaster that's crippled a large percent of the country"

king " The Federation of Canadstan? I'm not familiar with the people of this nation"

" they are located in the East Pacific itself my lord,a relatively small nation of around 6.5 million people....they are a small nation yes,but they are a very wealthy one!"

" hhmmm..tell me more of this disaster that has befallen them"

" i was an earthquake sir, truly massive..the Canadstan news reports it had a magnitude of 7.5! towns and villages have been destroyed and tens of thousands are homeless, reports came in that their capital city,a place called..... Tor..on..to was also hit"

- The King had his hand over his mouth as he listened to the cold unemotional general read off details of the 'Canadstan incident' as it later became known.

king" and what of deaths?"

general " we don't know sir....the..the Canadstan government is still trying to organise emergency relief and rescue of the civilian population in the affected areas.

" what diplomatic representation with other nations do we have in the Pacific region?"

" none sir..we have limited contact with that region. but we do currently have a presence there sir.As i said there is a SMALL fleet in the area, just 3 days away from their maritime boarders"

" the one that picked up the transmission?"

" yes sir"

king " send a message to this Toronto and state that there is a friendly fleet of the Dutch Netherlands a few days away that would be able to lend assistance to their civilian population until the Canadstan forces are able to gather themselves and take over, ask for thier approval to enter their waters"

" yes my lord"

- the small fleet in the Pacific was told by The Hague to hold fast and wait for further orders from home, telling them to head for the new country or to ignore them-

In a village, soldiers dug with their hands through the rubble to get at people trapped underneath. This village had once held 438 people, 87 had been found alive and unijured and over 130 had been found alived but injured in various degrees. A whoop and a hollar came as three soldiers pulled out a man who had scratches on his head and had a really damaged left leg. However, they pulled out a young child right after him that wasn't breathing. Medics began to recucitate but the kid was gone.

So to recap in that village 87 people were found alived uninjured, 130 injured, and 28 people found dead and another 23 missing.

At the resort, several survivors had been pulled out. Over 1,000 people had been at the resort and it was unknown how many of them were foreigners or not. So far 3 people had been pulled out dead from the resort and over 150+ had been injured.

Unconfirmed reports indicated that 4,000+ people were dead, over 80,000 people left homeless and nearly 100,000 people left injured from the quake.

Searching continued in the countryside and in many of the villages as another two earthquakes about the size 5.4 and 6.0 shook the ground. The second aftershock was blamed for the crumbling of a church that housed refugees and 5 people were killed in that building collapse. So far rescue efforts had resulted in 125,000 people being made homeless, nearly 150,000 injured and 693 bodies had been recovered but 4,370 people were still missing.

More survivors had been found in the earthquake but so far the toll had risen to 1,500 people dead with 1,700 people + still missing in the earthquake. Canadstan had still not received any foreign aid and citizens were getting frustrated.

Hello,
We are sending help in the form of food. We are sending 2 million tons of excess capacity from our fisheries-- salmon, cod, shrimp, flounder, tilapia, etc. We are also sending 100 tons of organic mushrooms and 100 tons of organic peas which we have just started having excess capacity for.
We will be sending 10 1,000 gallon per day capacity saltwater to pure water purification systems. We will also be sending 2000 relief brigade, 2000 Hospital brigade members with 400 regular doctors and 1000 construction brigade members with 100 construction engineers. Included will be some construction equipment, bulldozers, dump trucks, etc. produced by Dynamic Motors, PPC our largest automotive company. But we ask you to help us with this. These are nonmilitary conscripted personnel who should be able to help you with this disaster. They will be taken to you using non-military ocean catamarans and should be arriving soon. They can go 60 knots and are capable of going almost anywhere in the world with ports.
In return we ask you to consider foreign trade with us in the future. We are interested in fresh water fish for a little extra variety in our diet, and uranium. We would also like shipping insurance if it is available. We can offer a wide variety of automotive equipment including construction equipment, trucks, military vehicles, cars, small power boats, golf carts, wheel chairs and other motorized equipment. In addition because we use solar and wind energy we can sell you wind farms and solar cells.
