The Ihl Marrin made her way slowely to her postion. After she had locked in place, several of the camera droids moved into the arena, staying well out of range.
She broadcast a message This is the admiral. We are ready to begin combat upon the arrival of our opponents
She sent her sheilds on full, and sat silently.
OOC:You picked a bad time to start... Ill post again tomorrow when I get home from school...

The Pennsylvania manuvered into position. About twenty kilometers from the opponent, and facing it at a slight angle, thanks to the three dimensions of space.
Along the back, sides and belly of the Pennsylvania, Ultra ASC cannons swiveled back and forth briefly as gunners checked and rechecked their axis. White Shark torpedosand White Tiger anti-ship missiles were loaded into their tubes.
In various bays, equipment was readied. The F-1 Xeno Fighters were being equipped primarily with their guns, missile pods on the wings and a single, fighter carried anti-ship torpedo about 15 feet in length under the belly.
The menacing, dull-black battleship hung drifting slowly to one side in its position. No weapons were locked on at moment. It wouldn't do to give away targeting frequencies.
The Pennsylvania would then signal her readiness with a flashing beacon at one sensor port along the forward-starboard nose of the ship.

As soon as every contestant was in their starting position the Emcee started the countdown to begin.
"...5..."
"...4..."
"...3..."
"...2..."
"...1..."
A large klaxxon sounded and the start buzzer sounded across all frequencies.
Several announcers covered each ship in their reports back to their nations. Their babble was mounmomentus but still drowned out by the spectators cheering.
(The contest is now between you two at your own pace)

The Xeno aren't exactly docile warriors. To keep things fair, they had not deployed any assets up until the start of the fight. All at once however, things began to happen. Ten squadrons (100 total) of F-1 Xeno Fighters spilled from bays in the belly of the Pennsylvania and stayed close to the big battleship, using its body as cover for the moment.
The battleship's multiple Ultra ASC guns began to fire, spitting out 250lb kinetic rounds that alternate between explosive and armor piercing. Hundreds of the shots stream forward, hosing at the enemy ship's bow experimentally.
The Pennsylvania would begin to close in, hopefully to cut the range down to an optimal 5km or so. Scanners are turned up to full power and on the alert, scourging the enemy for any information that can be gleaned.

IC:The Ihl Marrin began moving downwards out of the fire. She also moved upwards, and to either side. Pretty soon, twelve of her began dodging the fire as fast as she could.
All at once, they fired their long range laser's towards the enemy, strking for the frontmost area's, Laser's set onto a non dangerous setting...
OOC:Of course, only one is real...

OOC: Waited 6 days for this? =/
IC: Of course, the stream of weaponsfire would continue to track after the original target.
Admiral Neko crossed her arms over her chest in the CIC of the Pennsylvania and looked at one of her sensor technicans. "They should have tried to hide before doing that. It's not like we can't -see- the original ship splitting up. Maintain fire. Also, I want an old-fashioned sonar ping."
And from one of the forward sensor arrays on the battleship, a 'ping' would be sent out. It would bounce off the only solid ship out there, and return to confirm the position.
The lasers are probably one of the least-effective ways to attack the Xeno. With their laser ablasive technology, sensors on the ship would detect hits, and send the information to the judges, with knowledge of the Xeno armor, would indicate only minimal surface damage.
On the holographic display both in the Pennsylvania and Ihl Marrin , the realism simulators would paint black, scorchmarked streaks on the hull of the Xeno flagship.
"M'am, I've determined that three of our cannons were tracking the incorrect target. We're recieving the sonar returns now, sending it to the weapons officers."
And the data would be fed over to the cannon bays. A plan would be formulated, however.
Admiral Neko smiled thinly, "They still think they're fooling us. I want a full spread of White Shark torpedos. Target twenty of them on the holograms. Alternate programming for manuvering."
Seconds later, thirty torpedos were launched, zipping forward at high speed without atmospheric resistance here in space. Ten of them would twitch from side to side to throw off targeting computers as it closed in on the bow of the Ihl Marrin.
The other twenty spread out in different directions, seemingly going after the holograms. However, when they reached their targets and were obscured by their visual image, they would make sudden, sharp turns right -through- the holograms, suddenly appearing from the near side of the holograms and speed towards the flanks of the enemy ship from all sides.
When/if the torpedos hit, they would simply crumple with a splash of that paint, or whatever it is Balrogga ordered them filled with. The simulation however, would send information to the judges and Ihl Marrin, that according to their preformance, they're supposed to burrow about 10 feet into armor before exploding.
The Ultra ASC guns corrected themselves and began a steady stream of fire again, the high-accuracy rounds targeted at the laser towers studded along the ship's starboard flank.

White Shark Torpedo
A 3,000lb, 12 foot long torpedo with a flex-thrust engine allowing for manuvering even in space. The White Shark has six types of guidance, ranging from infrared to motion, magnetic, sound, laser guidance and remote guidance. The White Shark has a range of around 3,000 miles in atmosphere. The warhead is approximately 2,000lbs wrapped inside of a ballistic penetration cap allowing the White Shark to burrow through 3 meters of composite armor before exploding.

To counteract the missiles, 70 Interceptor missiles launched from the real Ihl Marrin, streaking after the White Sharks.
Clearly the images weren't working, so they dissapeared back into the origional.
Then she launched a salvo of LNA's in return, covered by 100 smart missiles. They moved as a single swarm, weaving in and out of one another.
The lasers continued firing towards the ship, aiming now for the bridge.
The first few hundred rounds of bullets would simply bounce off the reflection sheild, many other absorbed by the heavy sheild behind it. Finally though, they would wear through and the holo-sim would show scorch marks upon the Ihl Marrins hull.
OOC: sorry about short post, @ skool. Actually, in reality the images would of been good enough to fool everyone that wasnt Conrad... He would set the images up so that they even rebounded radars.

Whatever a LNA is.. they would be the focus of this next Xeno tactic. Dozens of Swarm anti-fighter/missile pods would swivel on their mounts to focus on the distant .. whatever a LNA is as well as their missile escorts. Soon, the Swarm launchers were cycling to fire off hundreds of rockets, which struck out on pre-programmed courses to intercept the inbounds.
Half of the little rockets would be traveling just a little bit faster than the rest. They sped in, to begin striking down the incoming missles and "LNA"s. The slower Swarm missiles would explode in mid-flight, throwing up a literal wall of sharpnel. With the speeds involved, it doesn't take much shrapnel to shred a missile. (Remember, that space shuttle that broke up a while back? It had a hole in its wing from a piece of FOAM weighing 8lbs that broke off during launch.)
In addition, anti-fighter, anti-missile flak cannons all over the Pennsylvania also began to fire. Their chambers spin, gatling gun-like high caliber rounds (Between 35mm and 255mm) zipping off. Most explode to add to the wall of shrapnel, while others continue on ballistic courses, tracking after the missles and LNAs in streams of tracers.
Basicly, the Pennsylvania's defense systems are like a hunter's shotgun, fired into a flock of birds. Except.. it's hundreds of shotguns.
The Pennsylvania continued to close at about 20% thrust, cutting the range down some more. It would continue to shrug off the laser hits with minimal damage, seeing as energy-based weapons are the Xeno's strongest defensive measures. Also because energy weapons can't be effectively deflected or intercepted with a shrapnel shield.
There is no visable bridge on the battleship to aim at, however. The ship's primary CIC bridge center is buried deep within the ship itself, because it makes no sense to leave a ship's 'heart' vulnerable.
From the Pennsylvania came more and more Ultra ASC rounds. Being just giant bullets, and not missiles with thin shells and delicate internals.. they could be fired directly through the debris/shrapnel field of the defense system without much deviation from their courses.
Mathmaticly, some of the rounds were deflected by impacts with the shrapnel, but most just pushed right through with chunks taken out of them, or deflected into tumbling courses that would probably still hit the enemy ship's shields anyway.
Mainly, the Xeno are working to cut away at the shields, punch holes in them with repeated, unrelenting cannon fire.

OOC:Light Nuclear Armament Missile, LNA. It's in my ship info, or did you not read that?? Also, they are identical to the other missiles. The only people who can tell a Protectorate Missile apart from another is... well... Once more, Conrad...
IC:The Ihl Marrins defensive lasers began precisely bursting out towards the ASC rounds, hitting them with surprising accuracy, either melting them or completely annihilating them.
The fire intended for the bridge simply followed the lasers in, once more aiming towards the front of the ship, the Lasers changed their fire arcs though, began blasting every oriface firing towards the missiles.
The missiles themselves carried a very light sheild, helping them push through the shrapnel before the sheilds wore through, making it a bit further before blowing. Each one that blew, though, allowed another to make it further through.
The Ihl Marrin began accerating to top speed, flying slightly above the plane the other ship glided on, firing another salvo of missile the same as the first as she went. This time though, they sent 200 Smart Missiles to cover the LNA's.

Weapons System, Offensive:-10 Salvoes of Light Nuclear Armament missiles(40 missiles a salvo)
-100 Heavy Laser's, 30 front, 50 topside, 20 bottom
-10 Long Range heavy Laser's, 5 top, 5 front
-10 Nuclear Warheads
-1 Ultima Worldeater Missile
-5000 smart missiles, controlled by Conrad
OOC: Kinda hard to connect "Weapons System, Offensive:-10 Salvoes of Light Nuclear Armament missiles(40 missiles a salvo)" with "LNA" dude.
IC:
The first wave of flak fire had claimed 90% of the LNA/Smart missile salvo, the second wave of flak fire, placed around 500 meters behind the first, would claim the rest. As such, the Xeno system fires in waves, usually spaced out 200 meters or so behind the next. However due to the speed of the incoming missiles, the spread was a bit wider.
The manuvering of the enemy ship actually did the Xenos a favor. By moving to a clear patch of space, the Xenos were able to lay down another fresh wave of flak fire. Shotgun-like clouds of ammunition spewed forward to claim another large chunk of the fresh salvo. But not before the Xenos fired a wave of their own arms through the clear area.
Another 30 torpedos were launched, each one twitching and side-slipping to throw off enemy defenses as it sped towards the opposing ship's bow.
These torpedos were followed by the clouds of flak and shrapnel, spaced out in waves of around 400 meters this time.
The ASC (Anti-ship-cannon) rounds are basicly 250lb bullets. Half are armor-piercing, the other half are high-explosive. These streams of accurate shells are still streaming towards the laser towers on the enemy ship's starboard side.

IC: As the Ihl Marrin moved higher still, a large hole opened up in her underbelly, a flashing red light within.
The defensive turrets continued to fire at all incoming bullets and missiles, 20% making it through the precise lasers
More interceptor missiles were launched at the torpedo's speeding towards the ship, smashing them apart in gouts of fire.
Another wave of missiles was launched, the same as the second, the missiles curving around as if to avoid the shrapnel feild.
The offensive lasers, heavy and medium strengths, began blasting through the shrapnel feild, aiming all over the xeno's vessel or blasting the larger hunks in the feild itself.

Admiral Neko looked at one of her officers and nodded. "End it."
The Pennsylvania began to tilt upwards, then applied thrust. Effectively, taking a looping arc to a plane above the enemy ship. This presents fresh armor, giving the ablasive armor on the bow of the Pennsylvania some time to cool down. The lasers weren't really much of a worry, but if one spot took too many hits, it would eventually burn through. Which is why the Xenos are so intent on intercepting the ballistic threats, IE: missiles.
This manuver allowed defensive flak and Swarm pods on the underside of the Pennsylvania to come into play now. These opened fire, pounding out another field of flak at the missiles on the curving loop going around the first field.
This time though, four LNAs would get through to strike the underside of the Pennsylvania. With the advanced composite armoring and neutaring of ballistic power, there would be large blackened patches with armor damage. The radiation isn't really the threat, with the ship-wide radiation shielding. One can't expect to break through a capital ship's armor with one missile strike.
It's generally how the Xenos make war. They cancel out things such as energy weapons, and force the fight into their terms, ballistics-versus-ballistics, which they are the best at.
Close enough now, 70 F-1 Xeno Fighters came pouring out from behind the Pennsylvania in squadrons, each squadron breaking up into pairs of fighters, wingmen.
These deadly, fast little craft jinked back and forth as they made their attack runs, moving through the holes in the enemy shielding -now, too late the enemy would realize why the Xeno were just trying to cut some holes- to make attack runs along the starboard flank of the enemy ship, the same flank where -all- of the Xeno attacks have been focused, mainly on the defensive medium laser turrets.
Each fighter carried rocket pods as well as a large missile or torpedo on the underbelly. Each fighter pair would split up, then approach a laser tower from opposite sides, firing their rocket pods first, then launching the bigger missile, forcing the laser tower to choose between one side or the other, and thus, probably disabling it with a precision bunker-buster-esque missile strike.
A second wave of F-1s follow the first, this time 90 of the Xeno Fighters, adding to the chaos by half of them (40 actually) making strafing runs along the same starboard side, dropping 2,000lb bombs onto the laser towers while their wingman covers them.
The Pennsylvania, being smaller and more manuverable than her foe, continues in its steep climb, moving up and over the Ihl Marrin, mostly to gain a dominant position, but also to avoid whatever that glowing .. thing was in the belly of the Ihl Marrin was.
From this position, they could look 'up' (with the simulator) and see the holes in the first layer of armor on the belly of the Pennsylvania from the LNAs.

The Ihl Marrin began to rotate, her belly following the Pennsylvania. By moving around, the Pennsylvania had left the safety of the shrapnel, so from the Ihl Marrin was launched 1000 smart missiles, and another LNA salvo...
The tower's were not confused. When they were double-teamed they swung with precision, firing upon one of the ships while the surrounding LLT's fired at the other, or the projectiles. About 20 of the medium towers had been destroyed on the Holo, and 50 og the light's. A couple of gouge marks also lay on the hull where the ships had strafed.
The Ihl Marrin fired 100 interceptor missiles at the inbound fighters. Her own fighters deployed then, all 600 bee's spewing forth from her hull and firing upon the X-1's with their lasers, splitting into wings of 10 ships.
Then the Protectorate ships other ploy came online. A faint shimmer was seen as her Heavy sheild came back on, at about 70% efficeincy. Now a simple flash appeared when the bombs struck, the bomb annihilated upon impact.

OOC: This is just ridiculous. 1 frigging post per day, and he's refusing to take damage. At this rate, it will take LITERALLY weeks to complete this.
Why is it that your missile launchers don't have to reload? You've fired a salvo -every- post so far.
Also,
The tower's were not confused. When they were double-teamed they swung with precision, firing upon one of the ships while the surrounding LLT's fired at the other, or the projectiles
you do realize, that if a laser tower is trying to shoot down a missile aimed at ANOTHER tower, then itself is vulnerable, right? They're being attacked at the same time.
IC:
Well. The Pennsylvania was already in motion in a climb up and over the enemy ship. Being roughly 7 times SMALLER than the enemy ship and much more-manuverable, it would continue to stay ahead of that hole in the bottom of the The Ihl Marrin Savaige.
This time, the flak guns and Swarm pods mounted on the Pennsylvania focus primarily on the LNAs, since they have the bigger ballistic warhead. A fresh field of shrapnel would be generated.
Dozens of F-1 Xeno Fighters coming out of their attack runs would slip in behind the missiles, switching over to cannons and Swarm pods of their own, chasing down the missiles as if they were enemy fighters, blowing apart quite a few.
However, due to statistics, dozens of smart missiles got through, each one punching a hole into the first layer of the battleship's armor, sometimes even damaging the second layer. In one case, the Pennsylvania's computer felt particularly lienient and scored a hit against a Swarm pod, telling its crew that the weapon was disabled.
Still though, the Xeno battleship was basicly driving along the The Ihl Marrin Savaige's "back", now turning their ASC guns down, to begin pounding away at its shields again.
Once again, the battleship would be sending out fighters. Another 100 of the nimble F-1s came twisting and turning on an intercept course with the "Bees". The tactic is a time-honored one. They locked on their anti-fighter Swarm missiles from maximum distance, then fired them off, taking a sharp turn and applying speed while 'pealing away' from the vector, letting the Swarm missiles continue forward, accelerating to Mach 8 in space to deliver their warheads.
Flak cannons and Swarm pods on the Pennsylvania that couldn't 'see' the smart missiles and LNAs before due to the angle, could now unleash their firepower on the enemy fighter craft, tracer rounds chasing after them individually, packs of 5 missiles also curving, intelligently tracking after.
Perhaps a dozen and a half F-1s were considered "dead", right now flying out of the contest zone to await its conclusion, but proud that they had accomplished their missions.
From hangar decks on the Pennsylvania would also now emerge the brand new A-1 Gunships. They seemed to shimmer as their special shielding came online, and they would now enter the fight. The first wave consists of 65 of the craft, which turn directly into the waves of enemy fighters, almost eagerly driving straight into the lasers, which with the Xeno armor, were simply absorbed with only minimal armor tempering.
They would return fire, each one mounting a pair of 155mm cannons, a pair of flak guns and a pair of Swarm pods as well as a railgun. The railguns would remain silent, simply using their 'lesser' weaponry on the enemy fighters, since that's all that's needed. You don't use a hammer on a bug.
----
Another wave of 35 gunships would go the opposite direction from bow hangars, escorted by yet another 50 F-1 fighters. The ASC guns had been pounding away at the The Ihl Marrin Savaige's shields again, using explosive rounds to force the shield to absorb more damage.
These weakened patches of shielding would be the target of the gunships, which engaged their 'personal' shield disruptors and simply charged in. Basicly, it would be like driving a nail into a piece of wood. The disruptors are designed to make the shield split so that they can get through. And when they do, they will begin to strafe the laser towers again, no need for double-teaming this time, as they simply lined up their railguns, and fired off a massive 400lb chunk of ceramic-titanium composite in the general shape of a finger. (Note, these rounds are designed to absorb a LOT of heat and energy. Air friction alone when fired in atmosphere is way hotter than a laser.)

OOC: Due to inaction, I'm declaring victory. I'll give it a real reason.
IC:
The enemy ship would continue to blast away ineffectively with its lasers, probably having learned by now that energy weapons are almost worthless against Xeno armor. Still, having fired off 1,000 missiles just a minute ago, they were still reloading.
----
The gunships slipped right through the shielding, their disruptors basicly forming a bubble around them, which split the shield long enough to slide inside. Their railguns disabled the nearest laser turrets, before they settled down on the hull of the enemy battleship.
Seconds later, hatches were jerked open and Xeno Marines began to pour inside. Their amped up 'paintball guns' (As they called these modified weapons) were firing almost constantly as they stormed the corridors, hundreds of Marines backed up by dozens of Drones.
The gunships lifted off, having delivered their boarding teams and began to strafe the laser towers again.
The Pennsylvania was still gunning away, just blasting the enemy shielding with explosive rounds over and over with its cannons, while the flak and swarm pods spat at the enemy fighters, mainly just trying to clear up the space. Not that their small lasers could do much harm.
F-1 Xeno Fighters and A-1 Gunships would duel with the enemy fighters.
Meanwhile, another wave of A-1s slipped down through the shield, again delivering a payload of Marines.
-----
Minutes later, the The Ihl Marrin Savaige signals defeat. They had black-armored Xenos on their bridge.
