Our current Iraqi expeditionary force:

One division:
3 infantry battalions (2 mechanized)
1 cavalry battalions
4 artillery batteries
some air support

HM Expeditionary Force is due to arrive in Iraq via Transjordan in one week. They will be marching through and hoping to recover Basrah from the rebel forces. HM has sent strict orders to avoid fighting Turkish armies at all costs; he does not wish to expand HM army in Iraq more than it already is...

OOC: how many men are we talking? I assume you're taking into effect rebel destruction of rail lines and that stuff when you include the movement

IC: the GTR would like to remind Egypt that all freddom fighters in Iraq have temporary Turkish citizenship, and any attack on them would be seen as an attack on Turkey itself

[ooc: give or take, 5000...that should read battalions...and I'm questioning how fast Turkey could man a 740,000 army, considering that Turkey's pre-war military was only at 150000...that's a huge jump for any nation within a short time...]

HM Farouk I reminds that Turkey cannot grant citizenship on a foreign citizen, considering that HM Faisal II is the reigning power [represented by the regency]. By claiming citizenship of Iraq's nationals, you have committed yourself to conflict with the Iraqi crown. We will continue to attack rebels, seeing as Turkey has no right to impose citizenship on such people.

OOC: 740,000 is the number of troops recruited, many still needed to be trained and whatnot.
IC: the GTR is commited to helping the oppressed Iraqi people, and since Kurdistan has been officially annexed, then all kurdish rebels are technically Turkish soldiers, and many rebels have requested citizenship as well.

Kurdish Iraq is the sovereign soil of Iraq. That is clearly a declaration of war against HM Faisal II! While we are not interested in war with Turkey, HM Farouk I does not take this pain lightly.

The GTR does not seek a war with anyone, but is merely helping the oppressed people of Iraq to find freedom

[ooc: see NON-war thread for reasons why Egypt would not believe that claim...]

HM Farouk has announced the addition of another 100,000 to be added by the end of the year...

That would bring the troop numbers to about 250,000 by the end of the year.
