OOC: This will not be sold at this point in time

General:

C-EPE is a satellite, powered by 2 Rubin-3 500 kW space nuclear reactors, courtesy of MirAtom Corporation. Its main purpose is to be able to emit a high power electromagnetic pulse in order to destroy electronics of any object on earth’s surface. The project is top secret just the same as the division of the Russian Federation military that operates these weapons. Control is done through the VRPB from the hidden bunkers on the territory of the Federation. This is a wonder weapon that can effectively take care of the enemy without causing any collateral damage on the scale of conventional explosives or the damage to the environment on a scale of a nuclear explosion.

Power plant:

The Rubin-3 contains 254 identical molybdenum (Mo) modules. A Mo/sodium heatpipe is at the center of each module, surrounded by three Mo tubes that each contain a rhenium-clad uranium-nitride fuel pin. Fission energy is conducted from the fuel pins to the heatpipes, which then carry the heat to a heatpipe-to-gas heat exchanger. The pressurized gas spins the turbine and up to 500 kW of electrical energy are created. C-EPE has 2 of these reactors that operate together to produce a total of 1000 kW of electrical energy maximum. In addition to that several portions of the satellite’s body are covered by solar panels that produce 80 kW of electricity on average, daily. Ten percent of the power is used to allow all the equipment on board including the computer system and the communication system to function. The rest of the power is used during the emission of the electromagnetic pulse.

EMP Emitter:

The Parazit-I EMP emitter sends out a 700 nano-second pulse that can damage delicate electronic devices on both military and civilian planes, land vehicles, ships and buildings.
The emitter can function in almost any frequency and at both high and low power. This way its operation can be altered to suit its target. It can use microwaves at gigahertz-band frequencies to puncture a hole through any military hardening on an enemy jet fighter, an aircraft carrier or an AWAC and the same time it can use wider waves and less power to take out electronics on a civilian jet or airliner. The area affected by the emitter also varies, the larger the area the less severe are the effects.

Targeting:

Targeting is done by the onboard Almaz-9 CPU, it receives the targeting coordinates via its information link and uses the maneuvering system to place the satellite into the position directly above the target. Almaz-9s software allows it to know exactly there it is above the earth because it has access to the ZM (Globe Model) feature of the VRPB system. Once the satellite is in the position, Almaz-9 reads the impulse parameters sent to it from the earth base (parameters such as wavelength, frequency, power, etc.) and does all necessary to ready Parazit-I for firing. Once all the preparations are done, it sends a signal to the earth base, and the earth base gives either a command to fire and to aboard. If command to fire is given, then the emitter fires its charge.

Maneuvering:

The already mentioned maneuvering system operates by using the gas release valves placed around the body of the satellite. The gas used is the portion of the one received during the reactor operations. All maneuvering is done automatically by the computer, however should the computer fail an independent sub-system will give control of maneuvering and firing capabilities directly to the earth base.

OCC: So a GoldenEye esque weapon? Very Nice.

OOC: No, not really, this doesn't burn people, it destroy electric circuits, this kind of tech is being worked out, mostly EMP bombs, but the direction i went with is worked on too.

OCC: Is this MT or PMT? Also, GE was an EMP weapon. I don't think it burned people. Anywho, what were the devlopment costs on this weapon?

OOC: Oh yeah, right i thought you were talking about the one in "Tomorrow Never Dies", this is MT. Development costs, i don't know, 230 bil sounds good.

How many of these do you have? If only one, how long recharge time does it require?

OOC: I had a testing IC thread. I didn't specify how many will be put into space, but its supposed to be a network, but since much time hasn't passed i'd say, right now about 5 are up in the air. Recharge? Once every 3 years, those are nuclear reactors, they don't need much recharging, and the emitter itself is just a big radio antenna.

I meant after each discharge. Sorry for bad wording.

OOC: Like Soviet suitcase dischargers it only takes a few seconds, not long at all, time varies though depending on the amount of energy discharged during the shot.
