Due to Govermental Renovations, and the desire to remain neutral during these redisubutions of power, we have decided to discontinue being a observing member of the Islamic federation. If, in future, the civilian leader requests that we join the IF, we shall.

<BBC NEW TUNE>
Hello, and welcome to BBC news, with Fiona Bruce.
DUN-DUN DUN
Pakistan Returns to democracy!
In a unexpected annoucement, General Pervez Musharraf, the military president of Pakistan, after around 7 years of military rule, annouced that the country would be put back under civilian rule:
"After Much condsideration, me and my colleages have decided that after 7 years, we have proved our point that dictorship goverments will not be tollerated, and in 2 weeks, a new civilian party will come in power"
Holland increases ESA fund!
"With this new money, the Europian Space Agency will be able to delvop bigger and better probes, and, just maybe, some mannable aircraft...
Plane crashes in east Yorkshrire!
A plane went down during the night, at 2:43, and deaths are estimated to be 23 people.
But now, to Pakistan. Andrew, could you give us some infomation of the situation there?
Well Fiona, generally the speech Musharraf made is going to make history, esspecially for the Pakistani people. He's made it clear that Religion should not influence the government, so no clerics will be allowed to go into office...
So do you have any infomation on who will be running in the upcoming election?
Sorry, but none. We may have more on the situation in the morning however.
Good night then. That was Andrew Marr. Now, Hollands...

Dear President Musharraf,
I applaud your wise and brave move to return your country to democratic rule. On behalf of the Dutch government, we would like to thank you for important decision. I hope that you will let EU officials supervise the elections, when they will happen.
Finally, we hope this peaceful decision will inspire other countries in your region and around the world to take the same step.

Are you part of this RP? I never approved you. Anyway, Russia offers to assist in the handling of these elections and the supervision of them.

We are greatful for the endorsments, however we are not a EU nation, and therefore they don't have any bussiness. Dutch officals are free to observe the elections however, just as long as they don't intervene while th elections are in progress.
Which is soon.

OOC: election observers are often sent in an EU cooperative effort, that is why I mentioned the EU
IC: Fine, we will send a team of 25 observers who will observe the fairness of the elections. I hope other countries will do the same. Of course, we do not doubt that you will have fair and free elections, but in such a transitionary period, it is always important to make sure that there are not disrupting irregularities...

Today, we have the results of the Pakistani Elections.
Other Parties - 0.78%
Socialist Party (Qasim Mumtaz) - 6.75%
Republican Democrats (Basit Shaw) - 24.87%
Liberal Party (Aamira Nafisa) - 32.12%
Pakistani Welfare Party (Shakir Khan) - 36.48%
In light of these results, Shakir Khan is proclaimed the new Prime Minister of Pakistan. Opponent Aamira Nafisa (female if you haven't guessed already), who got the female part of the vote, had this to say:
http://img342.imageshack.us/img342/6752/faceindianwoman34hc.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
"Although I hoped to win and ensure 'genderal' equality in Pakistan, Mr. Khan seems like a worthy Prime Minister."
Winner and new Prime Minister, Shakir Khan, says:
http://img342.imageshack.us/img342/3939/khan5hn.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
"I am grateful for Aamira's comments, and I am also grateful to the voters for voting PWP. I hope to solve many of Pakistan's problems, such as birth control, food, money and Kasmir, in peaceful ways."
What will be Shakir's first move? Stay tuned into BBC news.

As my first action, I wish to create a more relaxed atmosphere in Pakistan by making it an offense to incite racial hatred. Presses will only be pressed in extream cases, however.
France belatedly congratulates Pakistan in their peaceful transition of government and we sincerely hope that this start brings many years of cooperative success between our two countries.

In a statement today, Shakir Khan invited the President of Bangladesh, Iajuddin Ahmed, to a Summit. Nobody knows why, but everyone seems to think that the subject may be about the reunion of the two countries.
In other news, the countries first 'Incition of Racial Hatred' court case took place today, with Aaban Khurshid being convicted for aledgedly threaternin an Indian woman. He ended up paying a fine of 5,260Rp. People cryed out for something more extreme, but these cries went unanswered.

"Mr. Khan? Are you sure you want to do this?"
Of course he didn't, chances are there was at least one nut with an AK in that crowd, but if he didn't do it, then he wouldn't be able to distract people from the current crisis.
"Yes Naajidah"
"Mr. Khan, you are sweating like a pig. Please, you don't have to do this if you don't want to."
Shakir made a gesture for Naajidah to shut up, and said:
"Look Naajidah, if I chicken out now, I'll lose the next election for sure."
Before she could complain, Shakir was off, to the most dreaded speech yet. For the first time, he had to be guarded by four guards. Shakir reached for his deodorant, and spayed his armpits. "Damn" he thought, as he had overused it already. He asked the driver of the armoured car, which he was entering, if he had any, but he said no. After getting in the back, he noticed him briskly close the glove compartment, with a slam, and a distinguishable sound of deodorant which for the time his body needed. Shakir guessed that this was either because the driver himself needed it, or the driver hated Shakir.
Shakir Prayed that it was the former.
The distinguishable colours and armour of the van made it stand out uncomfortably
for Shakir, but as the van was flanked by two BMP-2s, and was guarded from above by AH-1Fs, constantly monitoring the windows for snipers and RPGs, his heart raised a little. Musharraf had promised that everything in his power would be done to protect Shakir, but it still didn't make Shakir feel safe.
I wish everyone didn't take religion so seriously thought Shakir. He went over the speech time and time again, hoping that he didn't dry up. But his bowels still ached from the laxities he’d taken that morning as an extreme precaution.
The van started to slow down. Here we go thought Shakir. The van had pulled up as close to the door as it could, and the BMPs had covered the enterance.
“Bugger, I nearly had a shot” thought a hiding sniper in the bushes.
As Shakir exited the van and entered the building, he took a drink of Whisky, and entered the Stage:
“Glorious Pakistan, I come to adre..”
It wasn’t going well, but the BMPs blocking the entrance reassured him that no idiot would pop in and fire off an RPG or a burst of 7.62.
“ …ss you on my and my parties latest achievements.”
“Such as Sacrilege!”
Shakir looked around. Numerous picket signs were all over, such as ‘NUKE THE JEWS’ or ‘SHAKIR IS A JEW!’ He wasn’t that popular right now.
“I have commissioned an expedition to Antarctica, in which I plan to set up a research station, as well as a new type of Naval ship for our Navy. You may have noticed that during my stay as Prime Minister, our nation’s GDP has risen, and also that our birth rate has decreased via pensions, education and abortion options. Our growing nation of 168341133 needs food, and so in the future we hope to organise trade agreements. We have also commissioned a harvester that can mass produce saffron. So, after the recent decision I have made about our glorious Dome of the Rock, do you really think I am evil? And think about it: would you rather have the Dome of the Rock destroyed by Jews, or have it saved by Jews? I will leave you to ponder that.”
Shakir and his Entourage left the stage, and as Shakir entered the building he ran to the toilet, and was sick.
“Thank Allah that is over.”
OOC: Could you give me guildlines on some of this stuff?
