The sun was setting over the western hemisphere. In the Caribbean, the temperature subsided as the evening began to turn into night. All was quiet across the Empire except on one small island, Antigua, sitting in the Caribbean Sea. At 108 square miles, the island was a bastion of potential. It had once been home to 68,000 people but now it was empty. A catastrophe cleaned out the island only a year ago. That catastrophe was a massive hurricane, the size and speed of which had never before graced the presence of the world. The island, for a small time, was nearly covered in water. Damage from winds and flooding was extensive and the island was not declared fit for habitation yet. It was the perfect place for a training exercise, one that required a murky and dank place.

The exercise was to be done between the Empire and Dweladelfia prime and kept small, on purpose. The Empire would be deploying a single Amphibious Assault Ready Group, equipped with Marine infantry and cavalry, as well as light aircraft and helicopters. The exercise was going to be done with all MILES gear and simulated weaponry. The risk of accident was high, especially considering the nature of the island. Live ammunition, on the other hand, would not be part of the risk.

The exercise was simple, seize the island and drive the enemy off of it. The Layartebians would assault from the south, arriving onboard the 16th Amphibious Assault Ready Group and the Dweladelfian Archangels SOF. On board the 16th Amphibious Assault Ready Group was 7,500 bloodthirsty, well-trained, combat-experienced Marines equipped with cavalry. In addition, a platoon from the 3rd SOF 'Recon Force' would be assaulting the island as well. The SOF would land ahead of the rest of the marines and from there on it would be a full-on assault.

The thirty-six ship AARG was stationed no less than two miles off the southern coast of Antigua and no further than eight miles away. Aircraft carriers, battleships, frigates, destroyers, cruisers, and submarines were all stationed there. A satellite overflight of the island revealed pictures and thermal imaging galore. They had a good readout of the island they ewre going to land at five different points using amphibious vehicles and helicopters. Amphibious vehicles would land at Falmouth Harbor and Johnsons Point. Helicopters would land at Bethesda, Old Road, and Freetown. The 3rd SOF would land, by Bulldog insertion, at All Saints and recon ahead of the Marines. Resistance wasn't expected until they at least got to the middle portion of the island.

AH-94 Stalkers, AV-8 Harriers, and F-35 Ravens would be on station throughout the mission to ensure that enemy fighters and helicopters did not harass the landing Marines. The carriers and ships stationed to the south of the island were all bustling with activity as the sun went down. Super Stallion II, Huey II, and Serpent helicopters were all taking on Marines. Bulldog and CSA aircraft were both taking on Marines as well. The first deployment would put the entire Marine landing force on the island within two hours. Helicopters and aircraft alone with take two regiments while the ships and LCACs took the other two regiments.

Overhead, Sea Hawk helicopters would be probing the water for enemy submarines moving close to the battlefleet as Serpents did the same. Vulture fighters stayed high to provide protection against enemy fighters though it was doubtful they would attack the fleet. This was more of a ground operation than an air operation. Helicopters and aircraft attacking ground targets would focus on vehicles using their simulated munitions against them. It would be difficult to simulate attacks on the soldiers using the MILES gear but it could be done, more or less by the guns on the helicopters rather than anything else.

The Dweladelfian Amphibious Assault Group had set out from Dweladelf Harbor in the Antartic homeland days before. They were ordered to land on the north side of Antigua the LHD-1 Wasp class, and the Hawk Class Missile Cruiser would postion themselfs in the bay south of long island. 2 Sea Knight helicopters would take some navy seals over to take over V.C. Bird international Airport. After that the rest of the Sea Knight helicopters, Sea Stallion helicopters, and Huey helicopters would bring in the rest of the Seals and Spec ops. The AAV Amphibious Assault Vehicle would bring in the rest of the marines.

The helicopter armada, consisting of dozens of Super Stallions and Huey IIs, supported by Sea Hawk and Stalkers, came in low over the coast. They flew at no more than 150 feet AGL, flying at over 100 mph. Low and fast, they banked along the coastline, heading for their various landing sites as LCACs from the group moved at close to 42 knots towards their landing points. They only had a four mile round-trip, something that could be done in only a few minutes. The plethora of them would be landing vehicles for the better part of the next six hours, putting every vehicle and man on the ground as possible. The southern coast looked like something out of a movie as Frogs landed, deploying smoke immediately.

Marines in an M2017 Frog on their way to the beach.

The first two Regiments, dropped in by air, hit the ground hard and running. They immediately secured the LZs and began to advance, inward, towards All Saints and Sea View Farm, the latter being the most obvious point of encounter for the two forces. Recon Force Marines, on the other hand, dropped in already, on board a single Bulldog, packed with soldiers but supported by Stalkers and Harriers. There had been little resistance encountered and, from a distance, the enemy landing ships could be seen, though barely visible because of the range. The northern portion of the island was definitely being hit as hard as the southern portion, that was a given.

Within four hours, the entire landing force was done and ready, equipment and all. By eight hours, they had moved in and secured everything south of All Saints. They set up artillery posts inside the southwestern forest and the southeastern areas. Armor and infantry vehicles met up and staged at All Saints as they prepared to move northward, prepared to ambush and encounter the enemy. Stalkers and Hueys would provide air support as Bulldogs, Ravens, and Harriers provided CAS from medium altitude, using their simulated missiles to target enemy armor and attack, if they ever appeared.

Secret IC

Flying overhead at 95,000 feet, the SR-71B Blackbird flew over the area doing Mach 3.1, moving quickly as it passed Antigua off the starboard side. The aircraft belonged to the Royal Cottish Air Force, or RCAF for short, and was piloted by two veterans in the RCAF: Oberstløytnant Almaas as the pilot and Major Nerdum as the systems officer. Between the two, they had more than fourty years of experience from flying, both having flown fighters before they started flying the SR-71. Dispite their vast experience, their mission was a very simple one. They were to get information about the exercise taking place at Antigua, and they were to get it using the cameras mounted in the Blackbird. The extremely high-resolution cameras took a lot of pictures, with motives including Layartebian ships, Dweladelfian ships, LCACs, Marines and the brand new CH-53N Super Stallion II helicopter the Realm had just purchased a lot of on the surface in plenty. Thermal images also got a lot of pictures of the area, and most importantly, it would get a lot of information on the Dweladelfian ships, soldiers and tactics. All they had to do was to get safely home to the air base on Saint Lucia.

Dnalkrad Class FFGN

Onboard the Dnalkrad, the massive and powerful phased array radar picked up the SR-71 as it streaked across the sky, hot and bright. They were under orders to maintain the security of the exercise and the presence of an SR-71 overhead was not on any of their daily logs. This was definitely an intruder and they didn't know who it was from. Standard protocol involved destroying the intruder and so they went about that, switching their VLS missile systems from training to war. They immediately locked a pair of RIM-185B Standard SM-4ER Block II missiles on the target and prepared to fire.

Clearance went through the CIC of the Dnalkrad to the main CIC onboard the Falcon City carrier, where the main command post was. From there, it went to JOC in Florida, beamed down by satellite, almost instantly. The General on hand had no mention of it either and so he authorized the engagement.

Within another few seconds, the Dnalkrad FFGN was screaming to life as two VLS tubes shot open and the pair of missiles lifted off, streaking skyward, tracking the target using the ground-based datalink of the massive radar of the Dnalkrad.

Aboard the Wasp class Seals rushed to a readyed CH-53 Sea Stallion to take them to the Airport. As soon as the were aboard it took off heading for the airport as fast as it could. It would only take 2 Minutes to make it to the airport but every second counted. As soon as the helacoppter sat down on the abandoned tarmac the seals rushed out and secured the area. The signaled back to the ship the coast was clear and landing could comence.

The remaining transport helacopters blades came to life. They soared into the air heading for the airport. The doors it the aft of the Wasp opened and AAV Amphibious Assault Vehicles rushed out and head for the beach. Landing Craft Utility (LCU), Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC), and LCPL followed. Once the helacopters sat down Marines and Seals began fortifing the Airport they setup gun nests and sniper posts. The landing craft hit the beach and unloaded the rest of the troops. AAVs drove across the tarmac and postioned them selfs to repel attacks. The Dweladelfian Troops waited.

The SR-71 was on its way home when the RWR started bitching and moaning like a certain Russian we all know. Major Nerdum looked at the threat scope and saw that the radar picked up two missiles inbound, fast from behind.

"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit... Missile!"

"What the fuck? Missile? Where?"

"Behind us, coming in fast. The Layartebians must be itchy!"

The Oberstløytnant didn't answer. He started manouvering while switching on the transponder the Blackbird carried onboard. Immediately, it sent out an electronic signal to the world. The numbers, 0-1-5-2-8 and 7-7-7-0 told anyone watching that it was a Cottish military aircraft and that it was in distress. The pilot also started dropping chaff and flares like crazy while taking the aircraft into a steep dive downwards towards the sea. In the back, the systems officer kept repeating the same mantra while trying to jam the source of the missiles with the powerful jammer the Blackbird carried.

"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oooooooh shiiiiiiiit!" he cried when the Blackbird entered a negative dive of almost 3 Gs. The aircraft was now plumeting towards the sea below at almost 3.5 times the speed of sound. The titanium body of the SR-71 was creaking dangerously, and the jammer jammed everything within 150 nautical miles. Later, several civilian ships would need assistance because their GPS systems had been jammed and lead them into dangerous waters.

Once it was evident that the Dwalfdian soldiers had landed it was time to act accordingly. The island had a circumfrence of 54 miles, making it's diameter around 18 miles, well within range of artillery. The hidden LW155 guns inside the corners of the island came to life. There were eight of them hidden inside the forest and another four M2014A1 Howitzers nearby. In the southeastern corner were twelve M2014A1 Howitzers and six M2005A1 Boars. Stationed in the center were the remaining ten M2005A1 Boars. With tons of missiles and 155MM artillery, the MILES gear let loose. Each 155MM artillery shell fired was harmless. It fired on an arc and came down normally. However, when it got within 100 feet of the ground it shattered itself into small, harmless pieces and deployed a radio signal, giving away that there was a hit. The guns would fire four salvos each, putting twelve rounds per gun on selected targets, mostly the landing sites. At the same time, the missile launchers, the Boars, would open up in much the same fashion, deploying similar systems that would be aimed at the airport, where it was a given that the enemy was staging.

Marines advanced further, using the cover of helicopters and their armor to push forward, towards the northern coast of the island, where they could push the Dweladelfians back into the sea.

The SR-71 caught on when the chaff clouds appeared on the phased array radar. "Sir we're being jammed by the SR-71." One of the panel operators cried out. "Switching environment model." The phased array system of the Dnalkrad made the AEGIS look weak. It could tailor its environment due to RCS, jamming, weather, and so on and so fourth because of the extreme sensitivity of the system. The SR-71 was in a steep dive, a dive it was doubtful they could manuever out of without breaking apart because of G-forces. Resistant to a wide variety of ECM, the system continued to track its missiles towards the target, keeping them on datalink with IIR updates. The massive heat signature of the diving SR-71 was enough to light up thermal sights for miles upon miles. Now that the SR-71 was diving, the missiles could recalculate and would not need to climb as high. They immediately changed attack modes as another missile salvo of two missiles were fired against the falling aircraft, these two fired from sea-level giving them the advantage of being ahead of the diving SR-71.

A pair of F-29A Vulture aircraft, on CAP, were sent to try to intercept though it was unlikely, they were too far out and their AIM-120D-2 AMRAAM missiles would have too much difficulty in a tail shot against something moving so fast.

The fake shells hit the airport hard. Luckly most of the troops were dug in pretty well only a few were "Tagged". The Archangel team had not landed at the airport they were transported to Pares.

"Alright whats are first move?" "We need to get near one of there artilary postions and request an missile bombardment." "Alright then lets get moving"
The spec ops team began walk towards the enemy postion. It would take awhile for them to reach a sutable postion.

Hour and a 1/2 Later

The commander took out his satalight phone. "This is ArchAngel One to big daddy come in big daddy. Request Missle Bombardedent at sector O451." "Request granted Archangel one. Paint the target."One of the Spec ops soilders took out an infered laser pointer. He pointed it at one of the Howitzers. He could see the red glow on the Howitzers through the scope. "Fire at will Big Daddy." One of hawk class missiles Cruisers fired a laser guided Surface-to-Surface Missile. It flew up High in the sky and then turned and came down. The laser from the spec ops soilders pointer would guid it to its target. The missiles commander watched the missiles come down . "Boom" He said as it got closer to the target. Of course it wouldnt blow up.

"Oh shit!" Major Nerdem said for the n'th time in the last minute. The oberstløytnant did his best to stabilize the SR-71, but it was rapidly dawning on him that it was going to be pretty impossible. So, he did what he could. He trottled down the engines and tried his best to level the aircraft while Nerdem transmitted as many pictures as possible via secure datalink to the motherbase. They were starting to level off now, but they were still way too steep. Parts of the titanium body of the SR-71 were starting to fall off now, and Almaas knew it was time to get the hell out of Dodge. He got on the radio, going out on the emergency channel that everyone was obliged to pay attention to.

"Mayday, mayday, mayday, this is Romeo Charlie Alpha Foxtrot zero one five two eight declaring an emergency. We are falling out of the sky and are ejecting. Request immediate assistance from anyone able. Mayday mayday mayday."

Then he called out "Eject eject eject!" to Nerdum, who immediately got into the eject position. The aircraft was still going at Mach 2.4, but the ejection seats on the Blackbird were specially modified to be able to cope with ejects in speeds of up to Mach 2.9. The seatbelts were tightened, leg- and arm-protectors flew into place, clasping the arms and legs of the pilots tightly to the ejection seat before the chest protection shield was extended. This all took place within twelve milliseconds at the seats of both men occupying the aircraft. Then, five milliseconds after that, the canopy blew off, exposing the men to the elements. The boosted underneath the ejection seat fired and the chairs flew out of the doomed aircraft. Immediately upon exit, two telescopic arms were extended, giving the chairs sufficient stability to keep the pilots in the normal position and not spinning upside-down or anything like that. The seats were at 14,000 and 12,630 feet, respectively, and the pilots would remain strapped in untill the seats free-falled below 10,000 feet.

At ten thousand feet or 3,048 meters, the pilots were released from the chairs, which continued their free-fall down to the sea below. The parachutes opened perfectly, and the two officers gently drifted downwards to the vast, warm, calm, blue sea below. That was when Almaas saw the two Layartebian missiles fly past him, coming very close by, missing by only about a hundred meters, and slam straight into the Blackbird. They hit it just seconds before it crashed into the water, disintegrating like if it was made out of paper. Scratch one SR-71B Blackbird from the inventory of the RCAF.

Nerdum and Almaas hit the water about five hundred meters apart. Fortunately, the survival suits the men were wearing contained an inflatable lifevest. Almaas waited till it had inflated fully before he took his flight helmet off and gasped for air. After gasping for a bit, he inflated the raft his rescue kit contained and managed to struggle his way onboard. He checked his arm... yes, the flag was still there, clearly identifying him as a Cottish pilot. He then pulled out the emergency radio and turned it on. It had a range of 100 nautical miles, so anyone within there would pick it up. It just repeated the same message: "S-O-S - S-O-S - S-O-S" and the position. Nerdum did the exact same thing. Now, the two needed to wait for the rescue to come, whether it be a Layartebian helicopter or vessel, or the SH-86A Merlin helicopters about to take off from the stern on the Hordaland class cruiser roughly 300 nautical miles away.

"SCUD! SCUD!" The missile launch from the enemy fleet was detected as the massive phased array radars scanned the horizon. As the missile climbed high and picked up speed it lit up every air watching panel throughout the fleet. "Inbound missile. Bearing 0-1-0. Speed 2000 knots. Angels 20." The orders were relayed through the group. Loaded on the Odin Flight II were 20 RIM-161B Standard SM-3 LEAP missiles, designed to intercept theater ballistic missiles. This launch was definitely concurrant with that and so a missile was assigned track and engagement. The flight deck of the Odin temporarily halted as a hatch slide to the side and a missile lifted off, streaking towards the sky, honing to intercept the inbound missile.

At the same time, the SR-71 was trying frantically to abort its dive but to no avail, it was moving too fast. The first two missiles would never hit, failing to keep up with the diving Blackbird; however, the second two would slam right through the fragile airframe with their warheads and turn it into nothing within seconds of impact. The radar picked up the ejections and it was easy to see the falling parachutes. As they did, the rescue flight was sent. A single HH-60H Sea Hawk, escorted by a SH-60R Sea Hawk, would pick up the downed crew, bring them to the Odin, and find out just what they were doing there and why they were taking pictures of an exercise that had nothing to do with them, whomever they were.

As the RIM-161 streaked towards its target, a low flying contact was picked up, this one being a helicopter. It was out of range to engage from the fleet but an AH-94B Stalker would be tasked to attack it. Immediately breaking from its patrol formation near All Saints, the AH-94B Stalker accelerated and dropped to 500 feet, arming its FIM-186A Wizard missiles, which would be trained on the helicopter and fired.

The two pilots spotted the incoming two helicopters, and saw immediately that they weren't Cottish. They were Seahawks, a class of helicopters recently phased out from the Royal Cottish Navy. Shit. Oberstløytnant Almaas pulled out his P33A2 USP pistol and loaded it, not knowing the identity of the helicopters. His pistol wasn't much, but it was enough to at least take one or two with him to the grave in case this was the Russians or Tyrandians. Then he saw the identification markings. ILN. Imperial Layartebian Navy. Allies, but they were probably giong to be a bit annoyed with the oberstløytnant. Mentally, he prepared himself for intense interrogations and torture. He also repeated his mantra: name, rank, serial number. That was all they were going to get when they started asking questions. Name, rank, serial number.

Meanwhile, the Merlin picked up a aerial contact heading towards it, and the pilot, a young løytnant in the Navy made sure his transponder was on before he radioed the approaching contact.

"Unidentified helicopter, this is Royal Cottish Navy rescue helicopter Sierra Victor nine. We are responding to a distress call. Please identify yourself, over."

The Hordaland class cruiser a distance away also relayed the message to Caribia Area Command on St. Lucia, who send an official message to the Layartebian military commanders responsible for the Caribbean.

From Caribia Area Command, Cotland

"We have a downed aircraft in the vicinity of Antigua, and request permission for a rescue helicopter to enter your airspace in order to recover survivors. We appologize for violating your airspace, and hope that this incident has not placed any strain on the long and strong friendship between our two nations. The violation was necessary in order to properly assess the fighting power of the Dweladelfian navy and Marines. Again, we appologize and hope for your permission to rescue our pilots."

From JOC, Layarteb

"Downed aircraft and crew sighted by rescue HH-60. Will pick up pilots if you cannot reach them in time. Cleared in."

The proceedings went up, through command, to the Joint Chiefs and to the Emperor. This was going to become a major international incident, one that couldn't go over well. The Emperor would have to make concessions to the Cottish people, especially after his navy had just downed their SR-71. He immediately placed a call to the Cottish embassy, requesting that the ambassador come to the castle for an emergency meeting.

The SH-86A recieved orders from the cruiser to proceed into Layartebian airspace, with permission having been granted. It would be in the area within twelve minutes, moving at the maximum speed of 186 knots. In the back, the crew chief prepared the rescue harness and the rescue diver. Hopefully, they wouldn't need to fill any bodybags when they got home to the cruiser.

The ambassador had made it safely past the extensive security precautions and guards protecting the Imperial castle on Governors Island, and was now approaching the waiting room to the office of the Emperor, escorted by soldiers. The ambassador had been in this position for two years and had met the Emperor more than once. However, never under circumstances like this. From what he had been told by the military attache in the drive from the embassy to the castle, the Layartebians had shot down a Cottish aircraft which had entered the Layartebian airspace. The status of the pilots of the aircraft was still uncertain. He entered the waiting room, which didn't have a door, but a large impressive arch that lead to the dimly lit room inside. As he came in, he saw the secretary.

"Ambassador Petersen, here to see the Emperor." the ambassador said with a friendly smile to the girl behind the desk. While he waited, he looked at the paintings, swords and various other impressive artifacts in the room.

"Go ahead in," the Emperor's secretary said as the Cottish ambassador entered.

"Ah good to see you again," the Emperor said when the Cottish ambassador entered. The doors closed behind him and the Emperor smiled. "I am afraid I've called you here on bad news. I trust you are aware of downed Blackbird near Antigua? The Empire is conducting a military exercise on the island and, I must regret, the violation of our airspace prompted a response. I am afraid to say that we fired upon the craft and it appears that, in an effort to escape, the Blackbird went into an unrecoverable dive. This is most regretable but I cannot scold the men of my navy for doing this, it is their duty."

"Yes sir," the ambassador said as he entered. "It is indeed a regrettable occurance, but allow me to start sir. On the behalf of the Realm of Cotland, I would like to offer our appologies for violating Layartebian airspace. However, I have been informed from Oslo that the violation was a necessity due to something with the Dweladelfian navy and Marines tactics." The ambassador smiled. "You must forgive me sir, I am not a military man. I don't know anything about the military other than what I learned during my basic training in the Navy some fourty years ago. Have you learned anything about the fate of the crew of the aircraft sir? I pray they survived, as the death of two prominent officers will be much more difficult to keep from the public and our common enemies than the loss of an aircraft."

The Spec ops Squad saw the M-3 LEAP missile coming towards the Missile they lanched. "Damn, Looks like were gonna have to go in ourselfs. One of the Spec Ops troopers pulled out a C-4. "Well lets light em up." "Alright were gonna have to be quiet." The squad crept down aways near one of the Howitzers.

"I do know the fate of the crew and I can say they were alive. I don't imagine they are in the best shape, an ejection at such speeds will hurt the human body. I don't think any punitive action will need to be taken, this has gone far enough as it is. I can understand the necessity to learn the tactics of the Dweladelfian military. However, I must stress the importance of notifying us before hand. It is easy to determine the make, type, and course of an aircraft; however, its origin is completely unknown. In these dangerous times where our Russian enemies are looking to spy on everything we do, including going to the bathroom, we must be certain our airspace remains ours."

"I am glad to hear that they have survived sir. That leaves us with only one issue left. How do we explain away the loss of the aircraft, which is very expensive? The tax payers will not be happy when it hears that it's been shot out of the sky by an allied nation..." The ambassador left that comment floating in the air for a second before he continued. "Fortunately, I had the pleasure of talking with Prime Minister Rothsky last week, and we had a discussion concerning an event such as the one which has transpired. I got his assurances that in the case of a so-called 'friendly fire incident', it would have to be kept away from the public at all cost. Therefore, I'm pretty sure that I have the blessing of my government when I propose this: We go public and say that the aircraft suffered technical difficulties during a joint training exercise and therefore crashed into the ocean. There will be no mention of any Layartebian involvement in bringing the aircraft down, only honorable gratitude to the EOL concerning the rescue work. In return, the EOL will cover the expenses of aquiring a new aircraft to replace the one shot down. Is that an acceptable deal sir?"

Therefore I cannot authorize a full payment but, given that we did almost kill two of your fine pilots, I will offer half of the cost for the bird and bestow upon each pilot a personal apology."

Antigua

OOC: DP I'm sorry but I just cannot accept that your guys landed in Pares and walked all the way to my artillery post in a single post, when we have 7,500 Marines on the island. Artillery bases are usually manned by a lot of soldiers, five to eight per gun, with patrol pickets, and other vehicles, supply, tanks, IFVs, etc. They're meant to be mobile so they have protection to them. I know the island isn't large but doing it in one post is not cool and many would see it as godmodding.

The Marines had landed hard, fast, and brutal. They were advancing on All Saints and a battalion was moving towards Sea View Farm, with cavalry. So far, they had not run into any Dweladelfian soldiers yet but they knew it was coming. The naval group had a single UAV in the air over Antigua, high above, which allowed them to monitor the ground through IR and digital optics, including both their fleet and the Dweladelfian fleet. It was pretty stealthy, on purpose, and it was small, also on purpose. It could linger for hours, even days in some cases, before it would have to be replenished.

As the artillery prepared for another barrage and the helicopters began to advance northward, with their Harrier and Raven escorts, they became increasingly wary that the Dweladelfians were staging an ambush, somewhere. They had to be prepared.

The SH-86A Merlin entered the area, flying low and fast. In the cargo compartment of the Merlin, the crew chief was preparing to extend the rescue line while the rescue diver prepared to jump into the water to get the pilots ready for the rescue line.

Oberstløytnant Almaas looked as the two Layartebian helicopters just hovered nearby, not trying to rescue them. It was very strange indeed. Then he heard another helicopter approach, this time from another direction. He turned in the water and saw as the familiar shape approached. The grey-painted aircraft approached fast, and it wasn't long untill he saw the markings of the Royal Cottish Navy on the helicopter. They were there to save him, and the Layartebians didn't try to shoot them down. Good.

**************

"I've got a visual on our boys, dead ahead. A hundred meters."

"Got it," the crew chief answered to the call from the cockpit. He turned and walked the two steps over to the portside door and opened it, exposing the interior of the helicopter. The pilot pulled the helicopter to an instant stop just a few meters from the yellow-clad pilot in the water. The moment the helicopter had stopped, the crew chief started to winch down the rescue line while the rescue diver, clad in a wetsuit and diving mask jumped into the water from the helicopter ten meters above the waves. Almaas saw the man jump from the helicopter and tried to swim towards the man, but he came to Almaas quickly.

"Sir, kvartermester Einar Danielsen, Royal Cottish Navy! I'll be your rescuer today! Please hold still!" the rescue diver called to the pilot while grabbing the rescue harness. "I'm going to put the line underneath your arms sir! Hold them up!"

Almaas did as instructed and got the line underneath his arms to that he could be winched up into the helicopter. It was a sight for sure. The man in the yellow pressure suit being hoisted out of the waters into the grey helicopter, followed closely by the rescue diver. After having pulled Almaas into the helicopter and gotten a blanket around him, the Merlin headed for the second pilot and repeated the procedure. After that, it quickly surveiled the debris field, looking for anything they needed to bring along. There was nothing. The impact and two missiles had done their job well. The Merlin turned and headed for the cruiser, moving at maximum speed. The Merlin-pilots' mission was accomplished, but it had just gotten started for the two pilots. They would undergo medical examinations and extensive debriefings and interrogations to find out what the hell went wrong!

"I understand sir, and it is acceptable. I shall report back to my government and inform them. The cost of the aircraft should be communicated to the appropriate authorities within the end of this day." the ambassador said.

Within hours, Sea View Farm and All Saints were secured. The Marines hit hard and established small staging points for their thrust outward. They had information from the airborne UAV and radars that a helicopter from the north had gone to Pares and was then seen on the way north from Pares. Whatever was put down there was of great importance, probably a recon patrol or SOF. Recon Force Marines were already at Jennings and moving quickly towards the north, keeping under the cover of the brush. They were going to hit Potters and then slam into the airport, under the cover of a helicopter assault.

Helicopters were massing for another assault and that would be on Potters. A flight of six AH-94A Stalkers, accompanied by a pair of HV-24C Bulldogs would converge on Potters and attack down from the air. A four ship formation of F-35B Ravens armed with AMRAAMs and Escape missiles would stay in the air to provide CAP for the attacking and assaulting aircraft. Enemy tanks would be the primary target for the Stalkers, each carrying Brimstone missiles and CRV7 rockets.

With a full brigade on the island already, the Marines would split up a little. They had four regiments. One regiment stayed behind at the artillery points and secured the back areas. One regiment would move up through Sea View Farm into Potters. Another regiment would go to Pares from All Saints and secured the east of the island and the last regiment would move along the western coast, towards St. John's, the capital city.

At the same time, the artillery would begin again, putting another salvo, identical to the last, on three targets: the airport, Potters, and St. John's.

After the SOF landed at Parres they began to make there way west to All Saints to hassle the enemy there. The island was relatively flat so concealing themselves was harder than normal. The crouched low as to not be seen by enemy helicopters or planes.

"Sir we're picking up some specs on the radar. Possibly enemy air craft." "Have the AH-1Ws and the AV-8B harriers takeoff to intercept them. And send some presents to our new guests." The commander winked to the weapons officer. "Ay Sir." The WO brought up the AEGIS Weapon System screen and prepared to fire a salvo at the enemy aircraft. The AEGIS pod flared to life as 20 missiles were fired out. "Happy early birthday."

On board the assault carriers Harriers and attack helicopters took off ready to meet there new foe. "All Cobras this is cobra leader ready hell fires and follow me. Lets make this quick and swift.

OOC: Oh wow forgot about this.

The missiles found their targets true and were well aimed. The Stalkers banked hard and low but were unforunately not quick enough and all six were tagged by the missiles. The Ravens, on the other hand, had the most advantage, being the fastest and the most agile. Two of them were tagged while the other two fought on, now staring at the enemy, a flight of AH-1s and AV-8s in the air.

The F-35s locked up their targets and, using their AMRAAMs, fired at the helicopters and the AV-8s. The missiles twisted upwards as they went into loft and terminal attack mode, mostly because of the extremely short range.

On the naval fleet, the fleet roared up and they targetting their RGM-203E Imsdal, SCRAMJET powered, EMP missiles and targetted the main escorts, the Hawk Class Missile Cruisers. Two missiles were fired at each cruiser and an F-29 was immediately sent airborne carrying an ASM-135A ASAT missile. It banked up and away from the island, putting vast amounts of distance as it zoomed upwards, towards 100,000 feet. The zoom climb of the F-29 was phenomenal when it wasn't loaded with many weapons. Carrying an ASAT, underslung on its fuselage, gave it some drag but not enough to stop it from zoom climbing.

As it rose to its launch altitude, the missile was locked onto the target and fired. At the same time, the RGM-203E missiles would be nearing on their target. Once they blasted, the fleet would respond by firing off some Tomahawk II missiles, mainly RGM-176Bs, against the ships. They would fire three per ship. As they did, the submarines would begin a very slow, 5 knots, move out, to try to get into firing position to launch their ADCAP II torpedoes, if needed.

Another flight of four F-35B Ravens and six AH-94B Stalkers were put into the air for the purpose of replacing those that went down.
