Helghan
Late Halycon Period of Planetary Colonisation
It was nightfall when a march began. The largest tower, built out of steel, all were, hung one of the many black banners. In the center of this banner was a Large Red circle with three large arrows pointing out. The arrows all met in the center of the circle. One arrow shot out to the bottom and the others, slanted to the top, shot from there. The Insignia was outlined in white.
The Helghast Insignia.
Millions of Helghast soldiers marched forward. These Helghast were dressed in black suits with hellish helments on. Boots rising to their knees. The helmets fit each soldier, and they were proud to wear it. The masks did not have eyeholes to see through - Instead they were goggled-like eyeholes with an orange flash. The mouth-piece had a large black tube running from it to a large pack strapped to my belt; and another except it was attatched to the right side of the helmet where it coiled to a very small pack on the right shoulder.
The soldier's belts were strapped with two large leather packs on each side. On both shoulder sleeves was the same Helghast insignia on the banners. And a red strip made on the left sleeves, only, wrapped around the wrists. A large Helghast StA-52 LAR (Light Assault Rifle) was held in the right hands of each Helghan Soldier, and it leaned against their body. Their free hand was clenched and siwnging back and forth each soldier did the same.
The soldiers each turned their heads and faced the large fortress-like wall with three banners rising over it. There were at least one-hundred Helghast in each regiment. And almost over eight million all toghether - or more. The entire army seemed endless. The soldiers mached five more steps and stopped. The last step was when they slammed their right foot down.
Then, without a command, every soldier took their left hand and pulled it to their left side; and stood there. Then after a few seconds a dozen dropships on the left side of the vast army took off and the marching resumed. The dropships flown around the entire Army. This time they swung their right hand. Dropships hovering over them. They came to their last stop and turned to their left and faced the large wall, with the three banners.

It wasn't long now, there was a black podium in the center of the wall-like "fortress". A bald, dark figure walked up to the podium and pressed his hands against it and bowed his head to the floor. The man standing there was the supreme leader and heir to the Helghan Empire - Scolar Visari.
The Liberator of Helghan.
He was dressed in black, like the others but had a small, two-stripped banner hanging from his suit.
He now looked up and spoke, "My people - sons and daughters of Helghan - for many years, we have been a broken nation." Some of the orange goggles, helmetless, Helghast Elite nodded in agreement. "Shunned, oppressed, and conquered by those we sought to escape!" He spat, slamming the podium and pointed behind him without looking.
"Ten years ago, I asked for time and that time was granted by you - you the strength in my arm," he raised his hand. "The holders of my dreams. Our forefathers embarked on the greatest exodus in the history of all mankind. An exodus for freedom - Helghan became that freedom. Our new world changed our bodies, at first it weakened us but in fact we were growing. . .stronger. In the time you have given me, I have rebuilt our nation, I have rebuilt our strength, and I have rebuilt our pride! Our enemies at home have been re-educated, we have given them new insights into our cause. . .
"On this day we stand united once more, on this day those willing to divide us will hear our voice! On this day we shall act as one! and we shall be ignored no more!" There was now a pause. "Defenders of the Helghast Dream, now is our time!" He concluded his speech.
about a hundred Helghast soldiers were holding large staffs with the Helghast flag on the top, and they began waving it. The rest chanted and hailed. Visari smiled at their strong sense of patriotism, turned and walked away.
We were ready to launch an attack, and exact vengeance, on the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance - ISA. The planet, Vekta will be the target.
War has begun. . .

---

Divided platoons of Helghan Soldiers began to entire the dropships an hour later. They ran into the ships in single file with heads bowed to the ground. These ships were armed with two machine guns at the sides of it and these were so heavily armoured they can only be shot down by a missle in between their Search Radar. After Dropships were full, they took off into the air and into the attack ships. These capitol ships could be seen in the misty sky of Helghan.
Three hours later, the entire fleet, of Attack Ships, began their destination, moving through the sky and out the atmosphere of Helghan. . .soon after, they descended into the darkness of space.

---

Two days have passed. The Helghast Armada have finally reached their destination: Vekta. A planet fully opposite from Helghan's physical structure. The destruction of Vekta will exact revenge the Helghasts have been dreaming of for years and years. Most importantly, Vekta "housed" the Helghast's great enemy, the ISA. Those who exiled Helghasts from the beginning.
Ahead of the capitol ships were orbital platforms known as the Strategic Defence platforms. These intallations, commandeered by Vektan officers, are supposed to be the space defense, of Vekta, to negate orbital invasions. They believe that it's "the most sophisticated defense mechanism ever created by Humankind."
The armada was signaled throughout it's forces. Everyone was to be ready for the invasion of the ISA planet. The SD network would be alerted, about the Helghast fleet, and call upon its "shield". But what they don't know is what will happen to the Network.
Ten minutes later, the capitol ships were within Point Blank range of the platforms. However, Attack Ships were not ordered to fire upon the platforms, especially that they do not have any weaponry.
Moments later, most ships passed the SD platforms and were beginning their entrance into the Vektan atmosphere. . .

Much of the armada was in the atmosphere, or above Vektan cities and neighborhoods. With little ground-to-air resistance from any ISA batteries and AA guns, the Helghast Attack Ships began their blitzkrieg attacks on the city. This began when a capitol ship was the first to unleash an amount Helghast Dropships.
Dropships, flying through the air, fired their guns at buildings, suspected anti-aircraft emplacements, and the populous on the streets. Many Dropships landed on the surface, and deploying a maximun amount of ten soldiers. Helghast infantry fired among the civilians, law enforcement, and ISA soldiers.
My name is Sahiri Ekvan, Captain of a squad of nine and a Helghast Elite. I was still aerial, sitting with the squad in a Dropship, that was recently deployed. I looked down, staring at the landing Dropships and attacking Helghasts. I had also spied a little bit of enemy AA fire, but it was very inaccurate. Then, realizing the tightness across my face , I adjusted my goggles. The weapon I held was a StA-52 Light Assault Rifle. The main weapon in the Helghast Army.
I could hear silence, not outside, but among my troops in this Dropship. Then I heard low talking among the two pilots in this aircraft. They muttered about the usual things during flight, but also about possible landing locations.
I broke the silence by saying, "How is everyone doing?"
"Nervous, sir!" Private Ikera Krim yelled, a Helghast Light Soldier. He had to speak over the explosions and the hum the Dropship. His voice was, also, hellish, he had a mouthpiece on his mouth, which also supplied two miniature gas capsules. The mouthpiece, or helments other Helghasts wear, amplify their voices, making it sound intimidating and hellish.
Another said, "I'm okay!"
"Good. And it's okay you're nervousm, Krim!" I replied. "We all get nervous, especially on Zero Hour!"
"How you boys doing back there!" One pilot called out.
"We just went over that!" I said.
"Whatever. . .just get ready! We're landing in a moment!"
"Affirmative!"
A moment passed, and the same pilot called for us to get ready. "Lock and load, boys!" I called out. "This will be it!"
The craft began to drop slowly, when we were near the ground, all ten of us unstrapped the safety belts worn. Suddenly, the Dropship landed, and, simultaneously, we all jumped out. This is it.
There were explosions ahead, struggling ISA soldiers and policemen, alike, were firing at nearby Helghasts. But they were being cut down one-by-one. I quickly jumped behind ruins and fired accurately at an ISA soldier. He was killed when the shots hit his chest. The enemy forces dived for cover every time they shot a couple of rounds. A Vektan policman, wielding an ISA M4 Handgun, was shot in the head after a nearby Helghast sniper shot one round towards him.
My squad dove behind cover and fired at the Vektan enemies. I fired ten rounds at a Vektan soldier and he was killed. Soon, their were only six left, against seventeen Helghasts, including my squad and I. Because of this, they began to retreat.
The firing had ceased.
The seven Base Soldiers walked up to my squad, one - probably the Captain - said, "Thanks for helping us deal with them."
"Whatever." I said. "What are your orders?"
"Clear a certain area free of Vektans and wait for three Helghasts APCs to arrive up ahead - that's all. What about yours?"
"Up in our Attack Ship we're ordered to rendevouz with APCs ourselves. But not ahead, we're heading to the city center."
"It's minutes ahead. We'll support you until we reach our objectives."
"Fine, just stay out of my squad's way."
"Can do."
I turned, snapped my fingers, and pointed toward the direction to where the enemy soldiers retreated. They knew my order and ran to the cover, used by the Vektan forces. The bodies of Vektans littered this area, it was ignored however when we moved passed them and stopped. I looked up into the sky, Dropships were still deploying, and some just flowed through the air. I could hear explosions, gunfire, and faint screams ahead.
I look back, the sqaud of seven following behind. Then I turned forward and surveyed my surroundings. We were in an urban neighborhood, similar dwellings on both sides of the streets. Dead ISA soldiers and civilian men scattered among the streets.
We advanced through the streets, meeting absolutely no resistance, though the sound of gunfire increased slowly as we moved further.
