The Republic of France would like to invite the newly established Republic of Quebec into the Communaute de la Francophonie. As explained in the main Canada thread, our community is simply a means to bond with French-speaking nations, to encourage economic, political, military, and social security. As stated in that thread, the CF is not a means for France to control these countries, but rather offer a forum to other French-speaking nations to express their desires to improve their standing the world, and the nations therefore offering aid in response. As the parent nation of French culture and French language, the Republic of France wishes to offer this opportunity to your nation. If your government is interested, please contact the Republic of France here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=10463214&posted=1#post10463214).

BREAKING NEWS!

Bloc Qebecois and Parti Qebecois have disagreement over who will lead the country

Montreal-Even though a recent election affirmed the Prime Ministership of Andre Bosclaire, who is also the world's first openly homosexual leader, there have been contentions within the ranks of the formerly-provincial Parti Quebecois and the formerly-Federal Bloc Qebecois.

Gilles Duceppe, former leader of the now-defunct Bloc Qebecois, contends that he is the rightful leader of Quebec, having defended it while it was still a province of Canada at the Federal level. His shadow-ministers have rallied behind him, and a small minority of the population supports his contention. However, his imag e has been rocked with scandals involving an affair in a Toronto brothel that he is accused of patronising.

Andre Bosclaire contends that he, being the leader of the Parti Quebecois, is the rightful Prime Minister of Quebec. The national election, which Duceppe could not participate in, affirmed this claim.

The interim Prime Minister, Julien Bouchard, has called for another election after Gilles Duceppe has had time to gather his forces and form a political party able to run in the election.

BREAKING NEWS

Andre Boisclair wins Prime Ministership!

In an election which swept the entire nation of Quebec, Andre Boisclair's Parti Quebecois has claimed 77% of the democratic vote among the eligible voters of Quebec, an event almost unprecedented in North America!

While the rest of the parties, notably the Bloc Quebecois, have contended that the results are false, an independant body has confirmed the election as free from corruption.

In his first speech as Prime Minister, Andre Boisclair has made public a program that shall offer incentives to Quebecers to settle the Northerly regions of Quebec, as well as the newly-gained Labrador territory. Boisclair hopes that, with a more evenly distributed population, Quebec can become a leader of North America in terms of strength.

The English minority in Quebec shall be assimilated, with all English services being forcibly removed over a period of five years. English as a language shall be expelled from the domestic and international discourse of Quebec. While this has dissatisfied the English minority, the door is open for them to emigrate to Canada if they so choose.

We congratulate PM Boisclair for his victory in Quebec, offering words of encouragement for his tenure. Just as a note, France has noted Quebec's desire to join the CF, and it has been taken and approved. Welcome to la Communaute!

[ooc: since you are the only other member, I'm not going to post a separate thread for CF dealings, until I get more people. Until then, just use either yours or mine for CF posts]

(OOC: oooh, alienating the English speakers, another strike for the ever growing causes of a possible WWIII)

Diplomatic Message From Canada to Quebec

Whilst we have concern for those who speak English possibly being discriminated we also wish to open up negotiations to allow for a Mutual Protection Pact between our nations, I know your nation has little to offer in the way of defence but we do this only for your own protection.

The French government sees the discrimination of English-speaking persons in Quebec a minor problem that still needs some resolution. The Quebec proposal to offer English-speaking persons a return to Canada is quite reasonable, and France is willing to offer a sum of money to help relocate English-speaking persons to Canadian territory. However, we would encourage Quebec to hold on reverting English as a language, seeing as it is a major world language [like French] - therefore, it would not be out of order to assimilate such firms and persons to assist the Quebecois government in managing its North American affairs [provided that those firms are willing to assimilate into the French Quebecois culture and language premises].

The US extends an invitation to the new nation of Quebec to join the ALN(see ALN thread here:http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=470304 and the US thread here: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=10412875#post10412875 for more info about the ALN). Canada has already joined the ALN so if Quebec did not join then they would be isolated in the middle of the ALN.

Nation of Quebec']Nation of Quebec expresses confusion over the matter. We are Quebec as a seperate nation. The Bloc was originally our governing party, but was defeated in a recent election by the Pwnage Party of Nation of Quebec. The party has made sweeping reforms to the nation. However, we do extend our congratulations to the nation.

OOC: This is not NS General RP...this is a seperate roleplasy. I am playing Quebec in this specific roleplay (21C RP).

Diplomatic Message to Canada and France

We do not wish to discriminate against the English Speaking minority in Quebec. However, we estimate that there are only 300,000 persons who primarily converse in English or to not otherwise know French, and we view this as too small a minority to accord its own special status. We gladly accept the monies from France to assist in relocating the Anlgo-saxons who wish to leave our beautiful country.

Diplomatic Message to the United States of America

Quebec shall withhold its decision to join any major Blocs, pending further information and further stabilization of the Republic. While we realise that this may alienate us, we feel that our loyalty lies to the Quebeckers more than to any international body.

As such, the French Republic would like to prevent any unintentional discrimination. While we will continue to support the relocation of English-Quebecois, we would rather fund schools and instruction centers that would assist English speakers learn French and assimilate into the general population smoothly and without much pain to either the government or the people. Tell us if this is workable to you, and furthermore if there is anything else that we can do to assist you.

[ooc: I hope that I didn't make it sound like I criticizing your country for discriminating the English speaking people in Quebec...I just stated that it was a possible issue and the we wanted to prevent it...]
