June 10th 2006...

Western fleet command...

Admiral Hunconson sat on a chair over looking the board, the facility was looking out towards the large open blue ocean..

The radio was nothing but Static for a few moments as the group of senior officers looked over the map seemingly deciding something...

the radio began receiving transmissions, the con officer quickly picked it up.. and listened to the officer on the other end, she turned out quickly saying "commander, the 7th fleet is in position, its in the south west Asian theater now"

the admiral looked back over responding promptly "good... get them ready for exercises"

the orders were relayed quickly, to the some what large fleet, carriers began launching advanced F-22 fighters witch were equipped with state of the art avionics, ECM, and hybrid scram jet engines. F-16, and F-18s with state of the art modifications and computer systems were also launched. arsenal ships, frigates, destroyers, cruisers, carriers and battle ships began setting up simulations .

Nuclear attack Submarines kept an eye miles out of the area..

The HMS Sabeltiger, a battlecruiser of the Tiger class moved quietly through the waves, escorted by two Indefatigable class destroyers and a Bergen class air defense frigate. The small squadron was roaming the seas, flying the proud flag of the Cottish Realm. Right now, they were entering the Indian Ocean, having heard about a fight about to take place there. The Cottish ships weren't going to attack anyone, at least not yet. Instead, they were going to watch how other nations did things. Besides, the small squadron couldn't harm anyone, could they?

we are using this area (marked in blue) for exercises, for your own saftey we implore and request that you sit back, if you wish to join us you may, if you wish to observe you may observe as well.. thank you (end)

F-22 raptors,F-15ES , and F-16's all maneuvered in the sky above the ships. these planes were re fitted with 3D vectoring thrust engines, and hybrid scramjet engines . the F-22's were the most advanced fighter in the union with a top speed of Mach 5 at high altitudes, and an armament of 12 misses made for dog fighting and 2 Gattling cannons .. it was a premiere fighter, its avionics included, an expramental quantum computer, advanced tracing, EVA, ECM and ECCM systems and electronic masking.

all in all the theater was full of 1500 planes, and 250 ships (mainly destroyers, small frigates, cutters, i only have a hand full of carriers and super carriers, and small hand full of super battle ships and battle ships, and quite a few subs)

Aboard FRBS Cidola, a Nimitz class carrier, operating in the Indian Ocean
2400 Hours

Rear Admiral Andrew Garder paced around the deck of the carrier. His group was transiting around the Indian Ocean, preserving Bonstocknian oil interests in the area. Nearby was a small island base known as Manuelo Island, in what was once the Maldives. But Garder was anxious. Intel had just confirmed that numerous and potentially hostile battle groups were in the area, and a skirmish was underway. Garder had no combat experience; a good peacetime administrator who had risen from a supply ship crew, he was now Bonstock's first line of defense against any potential threats to their interests in the Indian Ocean.

A single P-3 Orion aircraft had taken off from Manuelo Naval Air Base, flying towards the general direction of the unknown ships; it was determined that all Bonstocknian forces in the region should be on high alert in case of hostilities.

The ships in the Bonstocknian battle group, including six AEGIS equipped Arleigh-Burke destroyers, spread out around the carrier, while F-35 aircraft were flying with AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles. E-2 Hawkeye aircraft looked for anything suspicious.

The Bonstocknian National Command Authorities said that any ship, plane, or sub that got within 100 km of the carrier without identification was to be engaged and destroyed.

Advanced F-22 fighters engaged there EW, and electronic masking making them more stealthy than they already were, there vectoring engines provided them with near perfect maneuverability, they swooshed around, accelerating to Mach 2.5 and maneuvering with ease.

The ships moved around maneuvering and firing Mach torpedos missiles and shells towards each other. planes shoowshed over head sonic booms rumbling over the area...

The TNV 'Diligence',a type 23 frigate, was entering the Indian Ocean on her way to home port after a 5 month tour watching over Tetict's maritime interests around the globe.Captain Joseph Longhorn was staring out of the bridge at the horizon when suddenly a the intercom opened..

WarOps room:
"Captain, radar is tracking four ships 14 miles off our starboard sir"

Captain:
"Are you able to identify them?"

WarOps room:
"No sir, there is one large ship possibly a battleship or cruiser and three smaller ships, possibly escorts sir"

Captain:
"Are they turning towards us"

WarOps room:
"No sir, they are continuing on their present course"

Captain:
"Keep me informed if they change heading"

WarOps room:

The Cottish squadron maintained their heading, moving along the edge of the zone. The weapons systems, most notably the missiles in the VLS cells and the cannons on the Tiger class were all ready to be fired at seconds notice, but the Cots had no intention of firing the first shots. Still, they maintained radio silence.

In the CIC deep inside the belly of the HMS Sabeltiger, the crew maintained a close watch with the events of the world outside. The AEGIS-III RADAR/LIDAR suite on the Tiger class and the AEGIS-IV RADAR/LIDAR suites on the Indefatigable class destroyers ensured that the Cots could see anything coming within 1,600 nautical miles of the squadron. Naturally, they wouldn't be able to engage anything that far away, but the RIM-161A SM-3ER missiles could attack any aircraft and missiles coming within 270 nautical miles. In addition, the Tiger could hold off any ships coming within the range of its twelve mighty 355mm cannons.

In the dark room, lit up by the radar scopes and the red combat lights only, a kapteinløytnant paced up to a NCO sitting at the RADAR/LIDAR console.

"Classification?"

"Looks like frigates sir. One roughly fourteen nautical off our port bow. The other one is further away. Some aircraft have flown over, but so far we've been friendly." the NCO said to his superior.

"OK. The next plane that comes near gets targetted, but hold your fire. Understood?"

"Yes sir. Paint, but not fire. Gotcha."

"Excellent. Have the Fosnavåg send its Merlin up to take a look at that frigate closest to us."

"Understood sir."

The orders were transmitted via datalink from the flagship of the squadron to the Bergen class frigate HMS Fosnavåg, which prepped its SH-86A Merlin helicopter for take-off. Twenty minutes later, the helicopter was airborne and flew in the direction of the unknown frigate. It would fly to within five nautical miles and take some pictures, getting an ID on it, then return home.

TNV 'diligence' maintained her course as her Captain did not percieve the four ships to be a threat, when the intercom burst into life again...

WarOps room:
"Captain, one helo inbound from unidentified ships"

Captain:
"Is it armed?"

WarOps room:
"Unknown sir"

Captain:
"Lock it up and ready two seawolfs, but hold your fire"

WarOps room:
"Aye sir, lock on and hold fire..wait...the helo is holding at 5 nautical miles sir...now its returning towards the unidentified ships sir"

Captain:
"Disengage lockon and seawolfs, ready the Lynx unarmed and perform visual ID"

WarOps room:
"Aye sir"

Ten minutes later the Lynx was airbourne and began heading towards the unidentified ships and would also hold at 5 nautical miles away from the ships like the unidentified helo as to not alarm them, and ID their flag then return to ship.

The deck of the john F Kennedy was busy, fighters, and fighter bombers were taking off and landing every so often, flight crews refueled and re armed fighters/ and fighter bombers.
the con officer looked back from his Console looking over his dual layered LIDAR/RADAR display and GPS display.

he spoke quickly "sir it seems we have another cottish ship, unknown class... we also seem to have a Tetict ship around the area.."

The commander sighed looking around his busy noisy carrier bridge.. "when will the USS Republic get here?"

the con responded "with in the hour"
The command sighed "well i guess we'll have to hold out against these super ships until the republic comes in.. launch a couple F-111H (its a re fitted Advanced EW version of the F-111)

hammer head subs stealthy moved along 2 of them were moving slowly but steadily towards the ships, the were at an extremely deep depth.

Well the fact that we have systems capable of tracking thousands of missiles shows that NS MT technology has surpassed the level of what we're using in RL militaries now. An F-22, which we've known about for a number of years and is the top aircraft in the world, isn't really a benchmark in NS. That and the fact that stealth, unless it's a submarine or a UAV, is no really applicable in NS because you have to have a large number of aircraft/ships to do any damage anyway.
The Fedral Union
25-02-2006, 17:45
(OOC: says you... I've re-fitted it to be one of the best in ns, you don't realize that.. its avionics can track nearly a thousand aircraft and missiles, now to say its not a bench mark on ns is rather arrogant, because im tired of all this technoabable pesudo aerospace engineer i pwn all earth mod tech because i think i know better than some one who's gone to school for six years attitude. And you still fail to explain how NS can detect and defeat stealth tech , that i would have obviously upgraded if i had to to match new systems? )

OOC: So basically...

"Right, here is my challenger 2. It fires its main gun at your battleship."

"Um, I doubt that would do much."

"BUT WHAT I DIDN'T TELL YOU is that it actually weighs 250 tons and has two 305mm guns."

Why are you still using the name of an aircraft when you have refitted and redeveloped it for an entirely different atmosphere and objective? This is just ASKING to confuse someone.

From Globalsecurity:
"While not invisible, the F-22's radar cross section is comparable to the radar cross sections of birds and bees. Compared to other current fighters, the F-22 is much more difficult to detect.

Right, so lets say in a world where people can afford to put trillions of dollars into Defence Research, we still haven't developed a strong counter for an aircraft that begin service in 2002?

It's common sense to realise that naval based radars capable of detecting missiles and aircraft in the thousands are powerful enough to see through the RCS and RAM of an F22.

By the way, I have not insulted you in this thread, I have not criticised you in any way, and I have done nothing to deserve your sarcastic, scathing, and (completely incorrect) completely uneccessary comments for a remark made, for once, not at a jab towards your RPing.
The Fedral Union
25-02-2006, 18:17
(i did not say it cant be seen of crouse its going to have a cross section, hmm but how ? ehh... i mean the F-35 is meant to be launched from carriers but i doubt any one can detect them very good, your assuming i have not upgraded any F-22, F-35 systems your also forgetting ECM and ECCM on my aircraft that come standard with it... im just tired of people in mt always saying there tech is better because of some bull shit technobable and then they expect to win by wanking it... thats why i left in the first place ,i thought I'd give MT another chance since i rp both MT and FT..)

Nono -- I'm assuming that any refits you would have made to existing aircraft would be exactly that: not complete rehauls as would be needed to compete. Fair shot, I suppose.

The USS John F Kennedy CVX-190 was a nexus class super carrier, over 850 M, 2 more of these super carriers were in the fleet ,as well as several refitted Nimitz class CVN-87s, 4 Iowa class battle ships were also present ,2 new york class battle ships, 10 Ticonderoga-class Mark Three upgrades, 15 Arleigh Burke class Mark three upgrades, 15 Oliver hazard Perry class mark three frigates.

the advanced radar systems scanned the air.. almost certain to detect the F-35, even though the carriers were equipped with upgraded F-35 JSFS the design was still the same, a waring was sent out, an F-22 and F-16 moved up on each wing radio communications were engaged "this is temporally restricted air space, we request that you cease your flying runs over our fleet, this is a dangerous zone at the moment we do not wish to cause incident.."
