I have noticed that N.S. I.I. has era's in which certian types of R.P. are done more then others. and some even go in cycles. Ones I have noticed are ( self named era's):
(MT/pmt. Time era)
Corporate control
Assasins rush
warmongers gold rush
Dictator hunt

(FT time era)
The chronosian inquistion
Jedi vs. Sith
Wank fest....


Not all of these go in order but, this is what I have noticed- Has anyone esle?

I think we're living a Earth Era, with numerous themes but mostly based on RL history. I haven't used NS Madnestan in RP's for months, yet I've been playing almost all the time.

yea that and Diplomacy thread are on the increase....

And Past tech rps are up as well.

First we had the Eras of massive wars, then the allince Era, after that there was thew Earth Era (Earth 1, earth 2 Earth 1098905) and then we had a carmer, more diplomatic era. Now where abck to wars.

To be fair I think an FT epoch is coming to an end, in that the power of the "Big Three" (GE, ESUS and AoN) is waning...

most of the new people in FT think they can have a 100 million billion km long ship with trillion apon trillion apon trillions of gun. its a reason why im trying out MT again.

There is a lot of Corporate control, (even though my nation is no longer a Corporation), but my Current Era is of Fear and Hatred...

Yea why is that.... I have noticed mostly that corporations have became a semi-major force to deal with. I dont see what so fun in RPing a Company war Mech.

Well my reason is, I don't have to think about whats right and whats wrong, I just do it because the Corporation wills it, i suppose it frees most people from Moral obligations, they only help nations if they feel they will get something out of it.

I do it for those reason plus more. Plus the constraints of how a normal nation works means nothing to a corporation. Population for one is different. I dont have a population I have Employees. And I cantranfere any amount of my employees from one job to another. which makes our "military" able to support mass amounts of troops. ecause If soldiers die. I can also assin a new employee to the soldiers slot.

The Corporate states is much like a normal nation, only that its not a goverment of the people but goverment of the corporations. The Council of the CEOs is much like Parliment, each Corporation and company put people forwards (most are voted in by popular vote, only the voteings more of marketing thing, the higher earners have more seats then the lower earners.)

Hell if someone really wanted it wouldnt be hard to incite a small scale civil war (known in my nation as Corporate Wars), infact its not uncomon that corporations openly attack each other with there corporate milita's. its just the CSF steps in a slaps both corporations, and then they get fined and alot of stuff.

I would say there are two types of Corporate players. Corporate states and unbased corporations

EX.

Corpsac has a " Homeland" where they are most centrally located. and have an established control over the area.

Raven corps has no " Homeland", and does not have a Population or a goverment style that resembles normal goverments. Raven corps is located all over the world in different countries. We have an H.Q. but even that is not located in land we own per say. Our H.Q. is located in Willink, Terra City. We also have Rep Offices which is included in our locations.


SO you can think of us like Microsoft with bill gates having militaristic ideals. That the best way I can discribe it...
