The Kravanian Conflict - (Closed)
[OOC: This RP is the Altistan/McKagan war with Kravania. It's not the TLA-Kravanian War. It's a closed chance for a sort of one-on-one against Kravania.]
Faced with defending McKagan from future Kravanian attacks the Imperial McKagan Navy moves to establish sea dominance around Kravania. Several destroyer wings are rerouted as well as a massive ASW force of Frigates. The main guns, however, come in the form of a single Zealous Class Super Dreadnaught and 8 Sartonia Class Battleships.
Task Force Colorado
Naval Assets
1 Zealous Class Super Dreadnaught
8 Sartonia Class Battleships
24 Avisron Class Destroyers
18 Illusion Class Frigates
12 Revolver Class Cruisers
18 Sultan Class SSN's
4 Edge Class Aircraft Carriers
21 Kurora Class Corvettes
Air Assets
510 GLI-76 Falcon VTOL Multi-Role Fighters
UH/MH/SH/AH-75 Wing's
AVT-12 Transport Units
The Task Force that was already in place to watch the Pavelic regime took up a defensive position west of the nation and prepared to defend themselves, although Kravania was under such a heavy nuclear attack that it was unlikely they'd come after a small naval task force.
Meanwhile the twenty (20) KLA-45 Tactical Fighters moved on their routes to move with stealth into the Kravanian heartland.
[OOC: I'd like to point out that this thread is supposed to be for the McKagan INVASION of Kravania. This has very little to do with the TLA Invasion.]

I understand that some of your forces headed towards Kravania are still well out of range, but it's never too early to start planning. This entier operation should be considered a joint Altistan-McKagan project and treated as such. My current command vessel is the Avisron Class Destroyer RMV Cobain. A smaller and stealthier vessel designed somewhat like the DD(X) your navy uses yeilds an excellent command platform as it is deployed in great numbers and still a very survivable vessel. Regardless of technicalities, I'm recommending we set up a direct chain of communications between your forces in the area and this vessel. It should be encrypted, nonetheless, but feel free to send me an email anytime you have something we need to discuss.

To that end, I reccomend that we begin some vital tasks:
1. Asertaning the strength of Pavelic's loyalists;
2. Begin supporting the rebel democrats;
3. Finding out if Pavelic still has any WMD's in his control;
4. Hopefully, taking out Pavelica and establishing a democratic government.
Do you know if we might be able to establish communications with the leader of the rebels in order to coordinate with them as well?
In case you are wondering, I am commanding our taskforce from the AFN Annapolis, a DDX-class (from now on to be referred to as DD-21) destroyer.

We currently do not have a means of communication with the rebel leaders. A Special Forces mission into the country might not be a bad idea, but we need to see what Pavelics next move is. His country is being blown away. That said, I do not believe he will have a major nuclear force left after McKagan's retaliatory strike. I do suggest, however, that you prepare for a very dirty situation once we get into the nation. There's going to be so much radiation that some areas probably won't even be accessable. If you need help getting NBC protected assets let me know. We'll clean it up with Leafanistani purchased things later, but that's not the issue. Pavelic is still loose. At this moment a flight of McKagan Intercontinental Bombers are flying towards the nation. We're going to find Pavelic and smoke him out, just watch.

Is it possible that you could inform us of the places you plan to level so that if need be, we can avoid those places?
Also, it would be nice if you could clean up the places with the Leafanistani technology.

At this time we are preparing to drop high yield ordnance on several places we suspect Pavelic or his top advisors to be hiding. While paranoid IMAF Generals and Doctrine won't let me reveal these places to you, I can assure you there are no where near your forces. They are well inland on the Kravanian homeland and no where near your fleet.

If you are okay with the idea, I am willing to send three sqaudrons of Talons to escort your nuclear bombers to their targets and make sure that any loyalists to Pavelic in the Kravanian Air Force don't attempt to intercept them.
The Talon is a stealth fighter, and the first ever type with hypersonic capability (top speed is Mach 5.8). It is capable of carrying a 12-missile load and is compatible with most anti-air and anti-ship missiles.
The total number of planes would be 45 Talons escorting the bombers.

Sergeant Pavlov. Shaded the visor of his combat helmet it briefly darkened. In the far distance a mushroom cloud raised in the air. A ten man team stood staring off into the distance.
Pavlov told his communications specialist. "Radio home we are not setting up any refugee camp in this situation." One of the soldiers gripped his rifle tightly. He was chafing inside his body armor. He seemed to be in shock.
They were to meet the rebels to arrange the building of camp. Communications Specialist Cruon said sir we have a different mission objective. We are to retreat and drop off the weapons at a rebel checkpoint. We will be picked up by stealth transport submersible.
They slowly moved through the heavily forested area toward the ocean. They would be picked up in a small lagoon where the weapons would be transferred to the rebels.
The submarines waited in the ocean. Heavy shock military police troops sat silently in there. Some muttered about them dropping the nuke. Most were completely silent and grim. They were headed home.
$2 million dollars of small arms were transferred to a rebel group, enough to support 12,000 troops. In addition suits of body armor enough for 1000 men were sent $1,000,000. Many of the weapons which would have been used to set up the camp were simply turned over to the rebels. Sleep gas grenades, shock batons, cases of fragmentation grenades, enough stinger missiles and antitank weapons to support 1200 marines. 50 command level troop trainers would be left behind.
Two cases were delivered. They contained 20,000 manuals. One was marked small unit tactics-- it had a plain brown cover with no identifying marks. It was how to build 10 man guerrilla insurgency teams from nothing. The other was marked building improvised military devices-- it had descriptions on how to make IEDS, convert construction equipment into light tanks, hand grenades from common materials, machine guns, pvc mortars, cheap rockets, booby traps, and a variety of improvised military devices.
Note: This is basically a group of soldiers that were originally sent to set up a refugee camp and supply the rebels. Things went south after the nuke attack now a few are left behind as advisors and arms shipments are being sent in to the rebels by sonar and radar stealthed transport submarines.

I'm sorry to keep turning your suggestions and offers of help down, I'm really not trying to sound superiorist, but these IMAF Bombers are best left alone. You see, stealth doesn't mean a plane is invisable. It reduces the effective range of how far a RADAR installation can pick it up. We'd have sent our own escorts when we launched the mission if we thought we could fit them all through the holes and remain undetected until they're at their target zones. Again, we're sorry, but the operational mission just doesn't call for that. We'd rather not put your pilots in harms way when there is no need for it. However, it would be appreciated if they were kept on hot standby so incase the bombers are engaged they can get some support quickly.

Do I have permission to do this?
Sergeant Pavlov is with this group.
We have been attacking convoys with IEDs, infantry-- rifles SMAWs for tanks and stingers for any helicopter or jet cover, log deadfalls, and avalanches using higher ground and natural terrain cover for a couple days and blowing up bridges leading to a small military base. We are trying to seal it off and then overrun it.
The rebels have acquired construction equipment and built these improvised. They have not had the small arms to back them up until now.
6- 53 Ton fully armored DS 9 Bulldozer. 3 Cameras mounted to see out.
2 Small machine guns side mounted. 1 Forward mounted machine gun.
1 inch steel plate with 1 foot of concrete strengthened with steel rebar
then 1 inch steel plate. Airconditioner
inside. Resists small arms firm. Resists most low and medium explosives.
Need a blow torch to cut into.
Based on this news story: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/news/archive/2004/06/04/national1824EDT0715.DTL
6 Fully armored heavy dump trucks. 1 inch steel plate with 12 inches of rebar reinforced
Concrete then 1 inch of steel. Covers whole vehicle includes wheel guards. 2 inch steel plate under armor. Home made rocket tube launchers forward facing 3 racks of four—rockets packed with c-4 explosive. Inside the back are four guys manning the rockets and mortars. 6 heavy pvc mortar tubes steel 60mm, homemade shells. Front cab has cameras to see out. One driver one gunner. 2 50 caliber machine guns forward facing.
2 Armored 4x4 trucks trucks with armored cab 2 inch plate steel. One double barreled 20mm Antiaircraft gun.
2 Armored 4x4 trucks with armored cab 2 inch plate steel. One 105 MM canon. Picture of unarmored version of Somali "Technical"
http://membres.lycos.fr/France40/photos/toyota.jpg
6 Armored 4x4 trucks with armored cab turret. 2 linked stinger missile tubes in turret. Improvised to fire together with one sight.
10 Armored 4x4 for carrying troops 2 inch plate steel, armored raised sides, open cab top.
We will surround the base and attack with 3000 men at night around 2 am. 500 have body armor. 100 have antitank rockets-- equivalent of SMAW with a mix of different round. 100 have shoulder launched missiles-- stingers. 100 have rapid fire 6 shot man portable 1 shot per second grenade launchers. The others have rifles and handgrenades. Grenades are divided between thermobaric, super fast hardening barrier foam grenades, and fragmentation. The base we are guessing contains a little over 2000 soldiers and 4000 civilians. The objective is to attack quickly, firing as we go in with the armor, blow through and destroy everything. The trucks and caterpillars are designed to smash through things. Demolish everything. We want to get the supply depot intact. Take everything we can use destroy the rest. Then leave. No holding the base we are mobile.
Note: We are not interested in peace we want the rebels to remove Pavelic from power completely. We are preparing more supply shipments and trainers.
[OOC: Kravania 'called for peace,' meaning he was about to get nuked back to hell. Regardless, McKagan isn't going to attack him until he breaks his self imposed law and gains control of another nuke.]
